The 12 Best Wineries Near Lake Chelan - Seattle - The Infatuation

"We only take candy from strangers on Halloween and when we’re at One Wines, a cozy cottage home to one of Chelan’s most unique tasting experiences. It’s owned and operated by Greg and Jo, a charismatic husband-and-wife team, and tastings here are casual and typically feature a rotating sweet treat paired with their wines. Sure, you could buy a bottle of red and some peanut butter cups from Trader Joe’s, but at One Wines, Jo can teach you why orange creamsicle fudge tastes so good with their bright and juicy white. On a sunny day, kick back in an Adirondack chair on the shaded patio and hang out with locals getting off work." - emily burks, carlo mantuano

Google
Part of Track 1 of the Taste of Chelan. Very cool tasting room with a nice patio out front. The wine was good and really complemented the lasagna pairing.

I popped in and had a wonderful time chatting with Jo and learning about her beautiful wines. They were all fantastic! Great atmosphere both inside, and on the patio. I'll definitely make this a regular stop on my annual Chelan trip!

We just purchased a six bottle sample pack. The wine (fake wine), is horrible, tastes like flavoured water and is ridiculously priced. Do not waste your money.

Must stop if tasting❗️Some may tell you, when it comes to wine what makes it special is who it’s coming from. You simply fall for One Wines,💕and your host, Jo you will adore. Personality and charm she will keep you laughing and indulged while she challenges your pallet with some guessing games, and yes I failed. But alas! There is no failing in wine consumption. Try try again I always say🤣. I am a fan of reds over whites but top to bottom I enjoyed each poor. The fudge pairing is both original and locally endearing. We should always being looking to support these dreamers right!? They were kind enough to let us enjoy our outside snackages and we shared as well with Jo and her sweet’ol mom who took the time to come out and say thank you. Get out to One Wines ASAP and you’ll be saying boom chicca wa wa like myself or whatever your ridiculous phrase me be.

The best wine in town! Stopped by just about 20 minutes before closing. Got 2 bottles. 1 crisp refreshing white and a rose` that tasted amazing! Please keep doing what you do best. Making delicious wine! :-)

Google
What a little oasis this place is and the wine is outstanding. 92 pts on Wine Spectator for the red and I've never had such an interesting variety of food pairings. Their winery has an amazing attention to detail to make your visit very relaxing; handheld water misters, board games, adirondack chairs, salty chips with your glass of wine, shade! Loved it and the owner, Jo, has incredible amount of knowledge. Her perspective on wine and the industry is refreshing.

Google
One Wines is a must stop for us every time we go to Chelan. Jo is amazing and provides a unique tasting experience not found at other wineries. We just opened a bottle of One Red from 2016, a wine she had told us about several years prior that at that time "was not behaving". On our last visit this wine was tasted and purchased. Tonight, it was exceptional, well worth the wait, by Jo and ourselves. We look forward to our next visit to see the exciting new venue (and some brews of course!). The "Blue Bowl Couple"

Great service and very interesting tasting experience. Would like to see the tasting waived with bottle purchase.

Yelp
A few friends and I went in to pick up an order of 16 wines and decided to taste while we were there. They let us know that they had a fudge pairing with the tasting, which we were really excited about. Our first pour came out and we were shocked. I don't even know how the explain the size of the tasting- maybe 1/3 of an ounce? It's easier to tell in the photos. There wasn't even a stopper on the bottle, that was the amount the tasting room associate chose to give us. She must have known it was small because she came out with our second pour like 30 seconds later. All the pours were this size. The tasting was $16 for four pours and I don't even think we got 1.5oz of wine total. I was also frustrated because we weren't told what wines we were drinking or given a menu. At the very end we were given menus with about 12-15 wines on them and had no idea which 4 we had tried. I think the girl was new, but it was still really weird. I have tasted at many many wineries and found this one to be very very stingy. We do not feel like we learned anything about the wine or the winery and have no idea if we like the wine because we barely got a sip in. We were also the only people there on a Friday, so I have no idea why our service was so limited. I also figured the 16 bottle purchase we were picking up might have waived a tasting or gotten us a bonus pour, but they were pretty stingy with us. I feel like we were polite and eager to learn about the wines and am really confused where the disconnect was. I was surprised to see all the great reviews after our experience, so maybe we just went on an off day or the person was still in training.

Yelp
Small wine tasting with fudge? Count us in! This one was a unique stop. It was highly rated on Yelp so i could not resist the visit. All the wines we tasted were great, except the red wine (in my own opinion because i am a rosé and white wine drinker...). The hubby loved the red wine though. We tried two different rosé, two different whites, and one red. With each, we were given a small slice of fudge. The pairings matched perfectly. Sadly, i am not one to walk away with a bottle of wine on my first visit, but we had to walk away with fudge. Each fudge we tasted was smooth, cool, sugary, and savory, but my absolute favorite was the orange creamsicle. If they have any available up front, they hand you one non-frozen. If you ask for a frozen one, they can give it to you if they have some available in the freezer. Some side notes: you have the option to either sit inside or outside. Inside, they have high chair seating by the cashier and by the front door. They also have a two seater next to it. Outside, they have fire pit tables and some seating along the front of the building. Our sommelier was fantastic. Answered all our questions and suggested wines that would suit oue taste buds. Overall, we will definitely come back here again. A good treat to start your day wine-wise and sweets-wise.

Yelp
My husband and I loved our experience visiting One Wines! I found this business prior to visiting chelan on social media and couldn't wait to try it out. The owner is so kind and hospitable. She takes the time to chat with you and make sure you have what you need. I had a glass of the white and my husband had a glass of the red, they were delicious! We will be back!

Yelp
This husband and wife owned winery focuses on making only THREE wines each year--a white, a rose, and a red. Jo was super friendly. We loved how she paired different fudges with the wines and altered what we tasted based on our preferences

Yelp
absolutely amazing new wine tasting experience , wonderful I liked everything I tasted, that never happens Tasting paired with fudge accompaniment, it'll blow your mind

Yelp
I don't know how I've been here three times and never reviewed this place! Jo and Greg run a great establishment here. The wines are tasty and delicious. The tastings are seemingly ad-hoc but they are actually well put together. The pairings are well done and help give the taster a greater appreciation for the variety of flavors and tones from each of their wines. I'll certainly be back.

Yelp
So I really love this place. From the spunky and awesome owner to the wine selection...it was fun to visit. We walked from the lake up to One Winery and I was immediately taken in by the owner. She was amazing and let us taste the wine. She didn't tell us what to expect, what flavors would peak out, nor what was in them. She let us, the tasters decide how to think about the wine. After we would taste one, she would then ask our thoughts and THEN tell us about the wine. I really liked this approach!! It was like a surprise for my senses which was fun. Definitely go visit One Winery! I really enjoyed the Albariño. So good!! We grabbed a bottle to bring back home with us.

Yelp
One of the best wine tastings in the area!!! Owner is so friendly and takes her time to talk to you. If you want some good wine and good conversation, definitely recommend this place

Yelp
Such a warm welcome at this winery. I toured with about 6 good girlfriends. The owner was so welcoming, did a wonderful tasting, was a bit sarcastic (which I love) and the wine was great! After visiting with all the girls - we liked it so much we came back the next day with our spouses! We all had so much fun!

Yelp
A tasting room host at another winery strongly recommended we also visit Jo at One Wines. We are so very glad we did. Hospitable, unpretentious, and a great wine making philosophy. We walked out with a few bottles very good wine as well as high expectations for their coming expansion. Thanks so much, Jo, it was great to meet you and discover One Wines!

Yelp
So we randomly wandered into this little place because I had no idea what it was. Jo greeted us and told us their story while we tasted their wine. They are a very unique business but I don't want to ruin it, go in and hear the story for yourself! I love that the owner isn't your traditional wine maker, she's sarcastic + fun and makes you feel comfortable, regardless of your wine knowledge. She lets you decide for yourself what you taste in the wines, rather than telling you what you should be tasting. I'll definitely be going back at some point this summer to try one of their Irish beers out on the patio!

Yelp
I came here to try something new because my husband liked their story. What I found was a refreshingly unapologetic take on wine making and 3 great wines in a cozy tasting room that had a locals-only-bar feel to it. Jo makes 1 white, 1 rose, and 1 red. She makes them for her palate, and if you don't like them, there are plenty of other wineries. It turned out to be one of my new favorites and easily a top 3 in the area. I'll be back for more wine, Jo's no BS attitude and to visit my new buddy Bo (the atypical winery dog). I recommend you leave your preconceptions at the hotel and stop in here for a memorable experience. If you don't like the wine, don't buy it. More for me.

Cindy B.

Yelp
My husband and I loved our visit at One Wines. Each year they make one white, one rose, and one red. They pick the best varietal from the vineyard for the year. All the wines were outstanding! The pours were generous and the conversation was excellent. Overall, the tasting room experience is memorable. If you go, be sure to follow Jo's instructions for tasting!

Yelp
My husband and I went to Lake Chelan for my husband's birthday. On our first day we decided to check out the town which included One Wines. While it wasn't our first wine spot it would easily be our only wine spot if we ever went back. We had the BEST time at One Wines. Fantastic red and white wine!!! Jo, the owner, was amazing! She was funny, humble, and knowledgeable. She gave by far the best taste experience I've ever experienced. Candy lover and wine-o extraordinaire. Thank you One Wines for such an amazing experience!

Yelp
I'm a big fan of this tasting experience. What a fabulous place to stop in. I bought a bottle of her red and can not wait to open it with friends. It really is all about the experience, and she gives you a good time. She is straightforward and funny. Definitely check this place out if you're in town.

Yelp
Best wine testing room place in Chelan. Great conversation and time spent. Please stop by, you will not regret it. Jo, the owner, will make you visit a memorable one.

Yelp
Great little winery. The owner gives you a lot of information on each wine that she is giving you.

Whitfield Bay W.

Yelp
It is difficult to impress me these days....Jo at one wines did just that. This is the model of what a winery aspires to be. Your first impression is of a high energy person with a really cool dog. That alone insures purchasing a bottle, the experience enhanced greatly by Jo is enough to make you stop in and enjoy life. Be aware Jo abhors mean people.. this is evident as good people, good times and great wine is what you will find here. No politics, no negativity, Jo provides you with incredible wine and just a great down to earth experience with no BS. If you are going to only one winery in Chelan make sure it is the ONE WINERY... you truly will have a memorable experience, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
One of the best wines in town! Love, love, love! Love Jody! Always friendly and we always return!

Yelp
Awesome wine! Incredible service. Dog friendly. The owner is the only employee and cares about your experience. I'm definitely coming back.

Yelp
Absolutely my favorite wine tasting experience ever. Jo is funny, straighforward and she knows wine. Three selections, but no fluff, no filler, no okay wines. It is just all that good. While I did commit a horrendous faux pas and order something not yet released in front of others, she forgave me and even let me have some of her dwindling 2011 One Red stock(almost gone). Again, between the wine, the conversation, the laughter and the overall experience, this place is a must.

Yelp
Chelan Valley has converted extensive orchard land to vines and there are nearly 30 new vineyards with attendant wine tasting rooms on or near the lake. Unfortunately the wines are very young and by comparison with others throughout the State and into Canada are way over priced. One Wines stands out, well above the rest for my palate. Jo and Greg blend wines and it is apparent they are blending gold. In business for a scant 5 plus years, One Wines has collected impressive awards for its annual, one red, one white and one rose offerings. They have carved a winning formula, and far and away have the best tasting, smoothest and most consistent wines in the entire valley. Two additional notes, Jo is a chocolate aficionado and her pairing of the exceptional dark cocoa with her red wine (try her 2012 Red, if still available is a marvelous treat). Secondly Gregg has just obtained a brewing license and his quest to brew an exceptional Czech-like pilsner is a brew waiting to happen. He and Jo have partnered with Harmony Meadows - a tennis and wedding destination outside Manson as the new location for One Wines and One Brew. Seek them out, you will not regret the journey.

Yelp
I hate to write this review. Because I'm selfish. The wine is ..... Looking for big fancy word. Amazing. Ok. I failed on big fancy word. One is in town. Easy access. Easy going. But you don't doubt for a moment that you've just entered into a business that has a mission and that's to set a tone in winemaking that is great today and that's not good enough. Tomorrow looks pretty cool. But I'm selfish. So stay away. Damn. Don't. Go see and taste and buy for yourself.

Yelp
Great Red Wine blend. If you are a wine connoisseur it's a must try. Great service, good people and a great little date night. We highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Delicious rose and very friendly service . Cute tasting room and patio area. Will definitely be back !

Yelp
It was a Wednesday and most od the tating rooms were close. So we found One Wines in town. A very different and wonderful quaint place. Jo (and Bo) was a great hostess. They are a small winery that produce great wines, but don't take my word for it, go and give it a try. The One whites and One red we tried were fantastic!

Yelp
Great wine, great people and a great experience. This is my favorite winery stop in Chelan. The wines are amazing and not pretentious. When you make great wine it will speak for itself. Jo and Greg are wonderful people and the tasting room is awesome. 21 years and older to enter since it is classified as a tavern since they offer beer and I truly appreciate that. No kids running around means you can have a nice relaxing experience.
