Google
4.5 stars... Sushi Bar closes at 6, by 7pm premade options are pretty limited. There were still people eating in the sushi bar and there plates looked amazing. Store has a huge selection of imported foods. I noticed on the back of most a translated sticker of ingredients and calories, etc and some had prep instructions. I picked up some tuna and soups.

Google
A combo of both Japanese market and restaurant! I really should've come here earlier when my Japanese friends mentioned this place in the first time. One World Market is definitely the best Japanese supermarket in Novi providing lots of authentic Japanese food, and they also have a nice food court selling some real Japanese cuisines, I personally recommend tempura udon and sashimi.

Lauren

Google
Had picked up a california tempura roll and chicken karaage meal from the prepackaged to-go food section. The chicken was fine, but the rice was stone hard and practically inedible. The sushi was poorly made, super mushy and not good at all. The two items together nearly cost 20$ so it’s pretty disappointing. Staff were very nice and helpful though. Hoping that this issue with prepackaged to-go items can be addressed as it’s a wonderful market in general.

Google
We love this place; they have the best sushi rolls in the area imo. Reasonably price and delicious. Order early since they sometimes limit pickup orders.

Deb O

Google
Great market with wide variety of sushi options. The back has a counter with several tables. There were beauty supplies, snacks, frozen items, refrigerator items. Lots of fish choices. I wish we lived closer to visit more often. I've had the ice cream in the cone in Seattle. I was happy to find something similar in the frozen section!

Google
Fantastic and fun grocery store. Authentic Japanese selection very unique. The sushi section is mind blowing in size and assortment. Always fresh, prices are excellent. Highly highly recommend.

Google
Nice selection of Japanese groceries - fresh fish, vegetables, frozen foods, some kitchenware, and some health and beauty items. Great selection of sushi to go. A small restaurant is also part of the store. No minced fish here. Their sushi is made up of wonderful slices and chunks of fish. Our go to place for sushi.

Google
One of the freshest, cleanest Japanese markets I have ever been in. Also- I have never been to a market with sushimi fish and SO many sushi options with a sushi bar. I had high expectations from seeing all their posts on social media and my expectations were exceeded. I found so many items I've always wanted to try!

Yelp
this place is super duper cool, it's pretty busy. not sure if it was just because of the day i went, but it's a really cool expierence!

Christine E.

Yelp
Put in your sushi order, do your shopping, eat your sushi, done. (The kiosk indicated a 25 minute wait, in reality it was 10 minutes) Quality is amazing. My favorite place is Noble Fish and I heard this market is owned by the same company. (Idk if that's true, but based on the quality I believe it). The space is no frills but you have everything you need, and absolutely delicious. The salmon and scallops were so buttery and soft. The toasted sesame seeds on top of the tuna maki were a delicious addition adding a nice nuttiness. In the words of a certain 80's action star: I'll be back!

Mary Z.

Yelp
One World Market is a staple and I have been coming here for years. I love stopping in to grab their pre made sushi to go. It's always very fresh and has remained reasonably priced over the years. It is one of the few places in Michigan that I trust for raw fish! It is frequented often by local Japanese so you know it's good!

Yelp
Truly a wonderful experience i remember coming here as a kid and i finally had a free day that i could come again with my mom ! We got lots of groceries and i got a katsudon with mochi plus barley tea and some rice cakes along with hi-chews annnd keychains finally some cat stickers Now the katsudon was nice and all but i personally did not like the red stuff on top and the mochi tasted like raisins which i loved lol They had music playing and it was a generally calm time to shop and the service there was super helpful I asked a bunch of silly questions but they answered them all very politely! I'll be back !!

Tony V.

Yelp
Ordered a one world tray and a couple of salmon bowls for pickup during Christmas week and order was ready on time. Staff was nice and ordering was a simple process using an ordering sheet. All the sushi was delicious and portion size was great for the bowls. Great quality fish inside of a grocery store, highly recommend. They recently got a few tables for indoor seating as well.

Michael S.

Yelp
I haven't been here in a while and I thought I would grab a Sushi snack. I went for the Nigiri, only 1 piece per order :-( . I chose the Tuna ($3.55), Belly Tuna ($5.25 WOW!), Salmon ($3.55), Yellow Tail ($3.55), Mackerel ($2.55), Sea Urchin ($10.05 WOW!) and Salmon Roe ($5.95 WOW!) Total before tax and tip was a WHOPPING $34.45. I will give them credit for having Belly Tuna and Sea Urchin, these are hard to find in Metro Detroit sushi houses. But I definitely PAID for it. Ambiance is that of a market counter. Service was polite and fast. But the PRICE I PAID for what I received tells me that I won't be coming back anytime soon. There are other fine sushi houses in Metro Detroit that provide BETTER VALUE during these times of BIDENFLATION.

Yelp
Added pics of recent changes. They continue with a very clean, friendly environment with more variety in food items

Vincent L.

Yelp
Good sushi, they have a little restaurant inside. Grocery is kinda pricey but good selection of Japanese goods. I think because of weak Japanese yen currently, some snacks and ramen prices didn't change much. Local produce and products on the other hand has prices increase. Premade sushi used to be under $10 even at large rolls but now Shrimp sushi rolls are like $11.50.

David C.

Yelp
One World Market is a fantastic spot for anyone who loves Japanese cuisine or is looking for authentic Asian groceries. The store offers a wide variety of high-quality products, from fresh seafood and specialty meats to imported snacks, sauces, and ingredients you won't find in typical grocery stores. Their sushi-grade fish is especially popular and always fresh. They also have a small dine-in area where you can enjoy freshly prepared dishes like sushi, ramen, and bento boxes, which are both delicious and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and helpful, making the shopping experience enjoyable. Whether you're restocking your pantry or craving authentic Japanese meals, One World Market is a must-visit destination!

Leimomi R.

Yelp
This Market has everything you need to make Chiraishi, Inari, Katsu, Takuan. etc. They are quick and efficient. The workers are helpful and friendly. The store is organized and clean. I go there when I need ingredients for Katsu Curry or Furikake.

Winter W.

Yelp
Portion size of the salmon oyako bowl keeps getting smaller and the price keeps going up. There's barely any rice and the toppings are scarce. Very disappointed.

Aliya S.

Yelp
Great value for great portions! My friend recommended this place and I've been here twice now. The sushi is delicious and there is a really good variety to choose from that are premade or from the menu. I've only ordered takeout and picked items up from the premade section, so I can't say a lot about the service. But I'd say it's pretty efficient and relatively fast.

Linda I.

Yelp
A really excellent Japanese grocery store! While it doesn't look very large at first, their selection is impressive. The highlight for me is their fresh fish and sushi section - beautiful fish and prepared sashimi/nigiri/rolls at very reasonable prices. My favorites are the Michigan roll (huge, with lots of tuna for $12), and they have toro to go too which is not easy to find! They also have other "specialty" foods you won't find in your average grocery store, like thin sliced meats for sukiyaki/hotpot, lotus root, beautiful Asian pears, as well as a multitude of fun snacks (matcha kit kats are my fave).

Mike K.

Yelp
This place is classic. I've been going here for years. Best place to get all your Japanese groceries as well as sushi, sashimi grade sliced fish, seafoods and bentos. They have hot and cold beverages and a variety of other candy etc. t

Michelle W.

Yelp
One World is my favorite place to get sushi, hands down. This grocery store makes some of the freshest and best sushi I have ever eaten and for extremely reasonable prices. It's also an amazing grocery store that sells sushi grade fish, Japanese snacks, produce, and various other food items. Their to-go fridge is consistently stocked with a variety of rolls, bento boxes, and other prepared food. If you're ever in the area and love sushi, this is a must try!

Sharon K.

Yelp
Was expecting a bigger store but it still has a decent amount of selection. There's a bit of everything: frozen foods, dry goods, fresh produce and meats/fish, home goods. There's even a small sit down restaurant area which also has packed food for sale. It's decently sized and stocked but if you are expecting a Mitsuwa size store this is definitely not it.

Isaac S.

Yelp
Awesome takeout sushi. Rolls were amazing. Excellently prepared. Full on market, but also amazing take-away. Easy and quick, perfect for a business trip dinner.

Roman S.

Yelp
This Japanese market is worth the trip! I visited Novi for a conference and wanted to grab Japanese food before my flight. I stopped by and purchased the sushi and snacks. The sushi was reasonably priced and tasted fresh. The matcha pudding that they sell is DELICIOUS! People were nice and kind, and the place is busy!

Nathan D.

Yelp
Sushi was great. - super authentic - love this place! Would definitely visit again! Love all the variety / selection.

Diane M.

Yelp
Love this place! So many products - snacks, beauty items, Japanese produce, drinks and fresh fish. There is also a small restaurant in the store along with ready-made meals. The sushi was fresh and delicious, and the vibe is lively and fun.

Jimin H.

Yelp
Fun fact: the dine in restaurant is open again! I got the spicy salmon bowl and it was delicious! You can buy the premade items and sit in the restaurant area or order fresh! Service was quick and you really cant beat one world for a cheap delicious japanese bite!

Jesse S.

Yelp
The sushi here is excellent. The small bento boxes are delicious and filling. The taste and textures of their food I can honestly say. It's just like being back in Japan. Seriously if you have traveled the world like me you know what I am talking about when it comes to authentic food. The only service here is if you come around lunch time to the sushi bar. Even then it looks like this place runs itself without issues. I know for a fact that the staff here is kind and humble which brings zen I can't explain it just come out here try it. The market here offers a variety of great stuff. For example when I get done with my bento box or sushi I like to treat myself to a sweet soy cream rice cake. Of course with warmed brew can coffee. That right there will be your culture shock Top of the line Japanese food is what you get here. Inexpensive just right if you live close and have that taste for sushi come get it here. That is all. Chief Anxious able hands will always find satisfaction.

Noor H.

Yelp
A great place to shop for when it comes to Asian products!! Had all types of Japanese food, condiments, candy and seafood. They had fresh sushi made to order and also ready to go sushi! I enjoyed the Michigan roll , it was fresh and delicious! It was reasonably priced as well. The staff was kind and the place was clean. They also had flavored Kit Kats which was a plus!

Geo T.

Yelp
Been a regular customer for over 15 years. Their Sushi selection is fresh, varied & exciting! The staff is friendly, helpful and informed. Spotless retail store with huge plans to expand into the former piano bar and/or sports venue just around the corner. Now that new mixed development across the street on GRA will be exciting to explore - promising options for a sit down Japanese restaurant.

Maya K.

Yelp
Amazing quality sushi in the back- super cute market! Staff was very friendly :) The restaurant in tbe back is food court style- so don't be surprised that it's not super formal (ie no waiters, no table side service etc)

Czara V.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING!!! As someone who used to live in Japan for 9 years, I can attest to that fact that this place is as close to a Japanese store as they get! Aside from being clean and the customer service is warm and helpful, the prices are reasonable and the food is INCREDIBLE. I stopped in after seeing all the stellar reviews, and wasn't prepared for the abundance of bento, sashimi, and sushi I'd find! Literally, this place is a THE JACKPOT for fresh, delicious, and cheap sushi. Like seriously, it should be illegal to sell sushi this good for so cheap - I find myself comparing other sushi restaurants to One World because of the fact it is so top notch! Aside from the to-go area, there are tons of groceries for snacks (tons of hi-chew, Anpanman crackers, shrimp chips, etc), Japanese entrees (I buy all my miso paste, churashi rice mix/seasoning, ramen ingredients from here now!), sauces, fresh veggies, ice cream and liquor (they carry chu-hi!!!!). Seriously - I could live there If you haven't already visited, you need to. This place is a Michigan staple for all things Asian!

Cierra W.

Yelp
Great stop for a lunch break, they also have a lot of candy. My favorite snack are the shrimp chips and rice crackers. The teriyaki bowl was light but filling and the chicken was delicious.

Rebecca B.

Yelp
The most recent time we were here, and we drove a LONG way, we were disappointed to find there was not an area to sit. As in...where di the restaurant go?? We were very sad, it was raining outside and sushi isn't something you can eat in the car. We ended up going to a Korean restaurant down the street because we couldn't navigate carrying sushi out of the market. We were sad, hopefully the bring the restaurant back.

Erika V.

Yelp
Sorry no pics this time. This is a pretty good Asian market with lots of sushi options. Unfortunately no fresh udon 8-( but I was able to grab a few pantry staples. Sushi was very fresh and good quality. 5/5 - Red Wing Roll, great lump tuna 4/4 - Michigan Roll, spicy tuna was good 3/5- Spider Roll, soft shell crab was meh

Elizabeth X.

Yelp
Cute Japanese shop with lots of pre-made foods and sushi! Reminds me of Noble Fish. Sushi was good, fish was thick. Pricing is some of the best in the area. I'd recommend!! They also have a microwave you can heat up your food with.

Jonah S.

Yelp
I've been preordering sushi for years. Recently I've found that wait times are unnecessarily long and quality can be inconsistent at times.

Rin G.

Yelp
I live near here so it is easily my go-to place for Japanese goods. Decently priced, good selections, and the bentos are always something we look forward to. We never leave this place without one! Lunch time during the week does get a little crowded with whole lot of ppl buying bentos so definitely wanna beat the rush (12pm+). Also, I'm from Hawaii & have a very Asian palate so every meal I need rice or soy sauce etc...so I am always missing Asian food and ingredients. There aren't many Asian market options in close proximity to my home so I am thankful One World is here.

Colleen L.

Yelp
One World Market is a clean and well-organized Japanese grocery filled with fresh vegetables, meats, fish, dried noodles and mushrooms, sauces, and more. The store offers a variety of great sushi, which is made fresh daily. Frankly, I'm unfamiliar with most of the stock, but the friendly staff is always ready to help. One of my favorite things can be found at OWM. It's Baumkuchen バームクーヘン - German Tree cake. The history behind Japan's fondness for this cake is fascinating (check out YouTube). The cake is delicious and well worth a trip to One World Market.

Jong L.

Yelp
I used to come here for lunch all the time before the pandemic. Now they've changed so much that I feel they lost their character. Now it's restaurant price without service. Not even a cup of water? I'd rather just buy the prepackaged, or go elsewhere where I get real service.

Tim C.

Yelp
Super clean! Super polite staff! Amazing quality! The sushi is fresh and delicious! The market is truly authentic Japanese. A great place to go to buy rice for your Zojirushi rice cooker -- my all-time favorite way to make all types of rice.

Ann W.

Yelp
In a previous review, I noted that the food was better than that found in other grocery stores. However, after a phenomenal experience with the sushi at its sister store, Noble Fish, I decided to give this place another go. The food court was closed due to the pandemic and instead, sushi rolls can be found in the grocery store. To fully accommodate customers, they can enjoy their purchases at a nearby outdoor patio at what was once the Library Pub. I popped in to pick up some sushi for dinner. The refrigerated case was in the process of being filled but there was quite a bit of a selection for me to be happy. Already, there were containers of katsu, yakisoba, gyu don, teriyaki, and of course, sushi rolls. I made a pig of myself with the Michigan and Red Wing rolls. The former contained an abundance of fresh tuna, creamy avocado, and crunchy cucumber. The Red Wing roll included shrimp tempura and avocado slices and was topped with more tuna. Now, I will say that for me, the pre-made sushi here is better than some of the sushi rolls available in restaurants. Yes, restaurants. It has been several weeks since this discovery and I confess that I am here almost every weekend to fill up on sushi. To cut down on carbs, I've decided to avoid the rice as I've learned that it is prepared with vinegar and sugar. During the week-end, the refrigerated case was continuously refilled. I was impressed by the freshness and variety of offerings.

Aron B.

Yelp
Just letting people know that, while Noble Fish's quality has greatly plummeted, based on my experience today, One World Market's sushi quality is still top-notch. It's of *tremendous* relief to me that this is the case, because finding a new sushi place has been quite taxing on me. The one caveat to OWM is that there is no dine-in option...the restaurant dining area is now completely cordoned off and/or dismantled, which is disappointing, yes. *However*, if you have a nice day outside, you can take your sushi and walk to the opposite side of the strip where Library Sports Pub Novi used to be, and they have the outside patio area available to patrons of OWM for dining there, and honest: it's a gloriously peaceful place to eat, most of the time. It's usually empty, it's relatively clean, and when the weather's cooperating, you really can't beat it, like it was today. Just perfect. Anyway, the sushi here is definitely the best I know of in the area, and worth driving to from Ferndale for me. It's now my high water mark because their sister location, Noble Fish, has absolutely crapped the bed.

Ailun H.

Yelp
This place is great with amazing sushi at reasonable prices. When I used to live in Ann Arbor, I would drive 35-40 minutes to One World whenever I craved sushi and bring some back for friends. My go-to is definitely the spicy salmon bowl and spicy salmon roll. Both items come with a generous amount of salmon (aka great salmon to rice ratio) and the spicy mayo always make my taste buds very happy. Salmon is fresh and tasty and fatty and it's honestly my top 3 favorite restaurants in the Metro Detroit area. There's also a large variety of sashimi selection - my personal favorites are the sweet shrimp, scallops, and fatty tuna (the really expensive one that goes for $81.95/lb when I really want to treat myself). I definitely eat well here for solid pricing. 101% would recommend to any sushi lovers in the area.

Lisa S.

Yelp
I love how clean and cute it is! There is plenty of parking, the people are friendly, & helpful. I picked up some horenso spinach & bok choy, and I absolutely love how they portion the produce. They had a nice selection of Japanese salad dressings and authentic green tea. The bakery section looked delicious so I snagged some red bean pastries (anpan koshi). Don't get me started on the sushi & prepackaged food section because it was glorious. I'm visiting the area and this is the freshest sushi I've had here in Michigan so I'll definitely be back whenever I have a craving!

Mercedes V.

Yelp
Mostly Japanese made food products (fresh frozen), kitchen items and lots of sushi related ingredients. Best place to buy Japanese beverages and alcohol. Clean aisles and organized shelves. Very friendly and respectful cashiers. Prices are similar to hmart and 168 Asian mart. Known for its sushi's.

Yohana I.

Yelp
Enjoying outdoor patio @oneworldmarketnovi my favorite sushi place in Michigan! It serves the freshest ingredients and great price!! I tried out Atlantic rolls Michigan rolls Gyudon beef bowl Karage fried chicken rice bowl #sushi and #bentobox are available in their pre made fridge or can be ordered online Japanese snacks, spices & groceries items are also available!

Lindsay F.

Yelp
This is hands down by far my most favorite market in the Novi area! No other restaurant compared to the delicious sushi rolls. The husband and I order sushi from here a couple times a month. I love the avocado sushi rolls. You get 8 pieces per order and the avocado is always fresh. Husband said doesn't matter what rolls he gets they are always delicious! The wasabi is delicious! Definitely can make or break the flavor and in this case the wasabi is the perfect flavor. They provide very nice clear top sushi platters when you order a couple rolls. They also provide soy sauce packets and chopsticks. They have sushi prepared as a grab and go or you can order in the restaurant for pick up. This market also contains many other Japanese food items. Highly recommended and definitely a staple in the community!

Ashley D.

Yelp
This place is AWESOME. Love the fresh sushi, sashimi, and cuts of other fish, squid, etc. They have many snack and shopping items. I regularly go here for their fresh sushi, getting some wasabi too. I've tried several varieties of their sushi and sashimi and have never had a complaint. We don't get much else here, but they do have all sorts of things. The staff is great; very kind and welcoming. It's your normal convenience grocery store interior but has some of the best foods and snacks ever. It's in a strip of businesses in it's "own" parking lot from better health market.

Alla M.

Yelp
The best sushi in town hands down. Market has lots of unique Japanese specialty foods. From produce, ramen, sake, sweets and etc..

Christal P.

Yelp
One World Market is the best specialty grocer in metro Detroit for Japanese food. Almost any grocery staple from Japan is here. I love the fresh seafood and prepared meals. This is not your typical supermarket sushi (yuck). The sushi at One World is very popular so what you get is fresh rather than something sitting on a shelf for days. This is some of the best sushi you will find minus having to spend beaucoup bucks at an upscale sushi restaurant. In true Japanese fashion, the service at the cash registers is always friendly. I got a free calendar for the New Year when I shopped there after Christmas. One World is a fun place to shop and a must for anyone who likes authentic Japanese food.

Ron W.

Yelp
Nestled in the northwest Detroit suburb of Novi, is by far, the best Japanese supermarket in the state of Michigan. When it comes to preparing cuisine from the "Land of the Rising Sun," "One World Market" is the best place to find the freshest ingredients. This little slice of Japan is the next best thing to visiting Tokyo. If you've been to Japan, and had a chance to enjoy a delicious bento (lunch) box filled with fresh goodies, then you'll love the offerings from the read-to-go cooler. Sadly, with the state of Michigan on lock-down from COVID-19, the sushi restaurant is closed right now, but will open again in the future. However, their more "authentic" offerings are far better than a lot of other local sushi restaurants in the area. I will have to visit them again when the ban on dine-in eating is removed. If you love Japanese style sticky rice like I do, then the vast selection available at "One World Market" will certainly make you happy to say the least. Here are some, but not all of the rice brands they carry: Akita Otome Gen-Ji-Mai Homare-Genki Kagayaki Koshihikari (Wismettac) Nishiki Sho-Chiku-Bai Tamaki (Gold & Haiga) Yuki No Kakera (Snowflakes) So if you're looking to improve your Japanese cooking skills, but find it hard to locate that certain shoyu sauce, or ingredients from Japan that most other Asian supermarkets don't carry, then you need to visit "One World Market" today!

Rodrigo T.

Yelp
It's a quaint little japanese grocery shop. Definitely has that authentic feel to it. I pretty much felt like I was back in the country shopping around for necessities. The shop had great selection on Japanese whisky as well as Sake. Also, a lot of people do avail for their sushi here. As a matter of fact, the first time hearing about this place is from a friend of mine that couldn't shut the eff up about how good the sushi is here. So, now we're here and we did purchase a sashime grade cured sardines to snack in the car. I do adore this place and would definitely recommend it to anyone trying to find ingredients. Ya kno, that stuff you cant find at Meijer or Kroger. Anyways, thank you for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!

Sarah C.

Yelp
Excellent place to pick up a quick lunch or some fish for home! They have a huge variety of products. Super friendly staff.

Tom K.

Yelp
One world always have great sushi. Even a variety premade in the counter if you want to grab and go. We do miss the dine in area but still order once every week or so.
