15 Vibrant Vietnamese Restaurants in Seattle

"Up by the Roosevelt light rail station, Ong Lam Bistro transports diners to Vietnam with a street scene feel within an otherwise contemporary dining room. Here, you’ll find the chef’s take on familiar Vietnamese dishes, all beautifully plated. The banh xeo is crisped up like a hard-shell taco, while pig ear slices and fried taro batons enhance the varied textures of the pickled lotus root salad. The bo ne’s tender beef proves that anytime is the right time for steak and eggs, while a sauce of fermented tofu spiked with chile makes duck breast with delicate egg noodles simply irresistible." - Jay Friedman

I think they have staffing issues? Stopped by for dinner, and there were three staff in front of house seating people and making drinks. Had to wait 15 minutes to place our order though because they kept disappearing. Then had to wait another 40 for our food to arrive. Other tables around us seemed to have similar waits. The friend I went with said that the wait typically wasn't that bad, but maybe something changed. Food was just ok, kinda pricy. Nothing really stood out flavor wise. The decor is a bit eclectic, but the dark color theme and whatnot could be nice for a date.

This place is absolutely amazing. They elevated Vietnamese dishes with gorgeous food presentations and are super delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive. I had the duck garlic noodle and it was perfectly seasoned, my friend had the steak and egg with bread and that was also well cooked and tasty. The appetizers are the stars though, Calamari with salted egg yolk aioli was unique and cooked to perfection. The only criticism for the place is the narrow tables with little room to wiggle your legs. I highly recommend this place for any occasion.

Absolutely fantastic Vietnamese restaurant. I was hesitant because of the price, but the experience was worth it. The restaurant feels like Vietnam, from the vintage scooter to the tile work in the bar. The service was great, a balance of attentive and giving space for conversation. But the best part, far and away, is the food. Everything we ate was fresh, perfectly cooked, beautifully plated, and tasted delicious.

* 🥘: 9/10. I order the super Pho and it was so delicious! The broth is very freshly made and it is clean and flavorful! The noodle was the perfect texture and it came with a great oxtail which was off the bone soft and tender! I also ordered the spring rolls and they were unique good! * 🧑🏻‍🍳: 9/10. The waiters are so kind and helpful! Very smiley faces and they are all so nice and very patient, came to check on us really often! * 📍: 8/10. I love the tree in the middle and every decors in the restaurant are so cute! They are so pretty and I love the fact that they made it really local and authentic like Vietnam! Great modern design but also very unique and local!

My niece and I had been eager to visit this place for a while, and today we finally got the chance. The atmosphere is reminiscent of Saigon, creating a cozy vibe. The service was friendly and attentive. The food presentation and flavors exceeded our expectations—fresh, delicious, and bursting with aroma. The coconut dessert was a perfect balance, not overly sweet or coconut-heavy. We loved our experience and have already recommended this Vietnamese restaurant to friends. Check them out if you are in the area.

Google
Food was honestly just ok. Everything was on the salty side. Flavors were a front but a bit strange. The chicken and count rice was actually hard to eat. And the sauce it came with? Way too strange. Probably will not return. Service was bad. Waiter never came to check on us. When we asked for a refill he said it was closed. Huh? It was 30 minutes from closing.

The decor of the restaurant is lovely and reminiscent of Vietnam, and they serve food that you normally don’t find in a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in Seattle. When we arrived, there were plenty of tables so we thought we would get seated quickly. However, nobody greeted us and we watched 3 of the staff members move around tables and chairs and placed settings on each table for a good 10 minutes. They also walked past us at least 5 times waiting at the door and not a greeting or word. Super awkward. Once we were seated, the serving staff was super attentive, friendly, and checked up on us several times, so that makes up for the initial encounter. We also didn’t have to wait long for the food. * Bò Né with homemade pate was excellent, and the sunny side egg with runny yolk was cooked beautifully. The baguette was also warm and fluffy. * Vịt Nướng Chao, which is a chef’s special, was cooked perfectly - so tasty and flavorful. * Mực Chiên could use a pinch of salt but was also well cooked with the right amount of batter. * Cà Phê Sữa Đá was the strongest Viet coffee I ever had, and I like that they don’t seem to use as much condensed milk (I prefer my drinks less sweet in general). Also, keep in mind this is in North Seattle, so prices will tend to be on the higher side in general. Will hopefully be back to try the cơm tấm next time!

Yelp
Made a reservation for 5 on a Tuesday at 5:30pm. It wasn't busy and had plenty of tables available but since they only have one big table you should make a reservation for a large group. They have fun little tables that makes you feel you are on the streets of Vietnam. But some look like they won't be comfortable to sit and eat for an adult. We ordered a variety of dishes and they were all amazing. Packed with flavors and cooked to perfection. Even the little garnishes boosted the flavor of dish. The kumquat with the fried pork was a perfect pair. Staff service was quick and friendly. They were really nice to let us chit chat and hang out after our meal and didn't rush us. A very family friendly, and comforting restaurant.

Yelp
The food was really good but the service really doesn't do justice to what could be a fun restaurant. I was seated and then ignored for 15 minutes while the silent bartender was transferring liquids into bottles. No one came to check on us until a different employee came into work. No one came to clear our table, ever. We had to stack them up to make space. Long after we were done, they finally brought the bill but left the table full of dishes. The place was pretty empty, total of 4 tables were occupied. 3 employees were working the floor.

Yelp
This is a great spot that feels like you are in Saigon. The decor looks like it came right from the market there. It's near 65th so easy to get to from the u-district and all the new apartments in Ravenna. It's in a nice new building and there is retail parking nearby which is super convenient. The food seems very authentic. We liked the mango salad is really good. Banh xeo and banh knot which are pancake thingies are good. The crispy mushrooms or Nam churn is great. The Bo ne is a sizzling steak for this. The Kem xoi dua is a great sticky rice is a great dessert And of course the drinks menu is very authentic.

Yelp
This is modern Vietnamese food in a new, nicely decorated interior. Very Seattle. We ordered: - Vit nuong chao: the duck had great flavor but was a tad bit dry, as were the egg noodles, and there was so little of it. The sauce was bomb. Beautiful plating, small portion. - Bun Rieu: a wonderful meaty yet light broth with a plethora of interesting flavors and textures. The spare ribs were delicious but the meat was tough. - Drunken Lychee: a good drink with real lychee on a skewer - Coconut island: a dessert that goes all-out. The coconut ice cream was delicious with a slightly viscous melt-in-the-month texture. The macaron and flowers were pretty but didn't add much. For two people, this food that amounted to $80+ left us almost but not completely full. Everything was pleasant but not excellent. We're glad we tried, but won't return.

Yelp
A great place to go to for authentic Vietnamese food. I had their com tam, which came with grilled pork chop, shredded pork, pork meatloaf, fried egg, and some veggies. The pork chop was well cooked. Very flavorful and tender to eat. I didn't enjoy the shredded pork as much. I also had their banh xeo tacos which was cool to try. It was pretty tasty, however, I think the portioning of it wasn't great, especially for the cost of $16. The service was good. The servers were nice and helpful. The food didn't take too long to make. The pricing of the entrees are more on the pricey side. The pricing of the appetizers is a bit too expensive... I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. It gave an authentic theme of a Vietnamese restaurant. There were some nice decorations implemented too

Yelp
4.5 Stars Vietnamese spot with a creative menu, striking presentation, and a trendy interior. Drink - Hoi'an Fizzes ($8) were light and refreshing. Food - Banh Xeo Tacos ($16) - lovely Bo Ne ($22) - Steak was fatty and succulent, pork pate was rich, and runny egg all paired perfectly with the airy, crunchy pate Duck Breast & Garlic Noodles ($24) - delicious Only nit was the last two dishes were a bit on the salty side. Polite and attentive staff.

Yelp
The only place brings you all the Vietnam's street food and lifestyle. The service is quite slow but very attention to detail. The owner even comes by to check your satisfaction. Love the decorations just feel like you're on the street in Saigon. Drink is refreshing and tasty. Food is just well seasoning and perfectly cooked. They have options for vegan food if you want to order. Parking is on the street. Make reservations to skip the waiting Service 4/5 Food 5/5 Drink 5/5 Food variety 5/5 Ambiance 5/5

Yelp
I ate here when they first opened, and the service was pretty bad even though the food was good. Decided to try again and am happy to report that the service is WAY BETTER now and the food is still good. Favorites: - Cơm Tấm Sài Gòn ($18) - Bánh Khọt ($14) - Hôi An Fizz ($7) Good too: - Cà Phê Sữa Đá ($7) - Bún Bò Huế ($18) Inside is clean, bright, and spacious. Cute decor. Street parking is not great in the area on weekends... but it's also not impossible. Just give yourself extra time to circle.

Yelp
Amazing staff and service. Ordered the tacos and calamari and pork chop rice dish (not pictured) total of $63 (tip included). Very fresh seafood and fried foods were not over done (not oily). 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
It's a good Vietnamese fusion restaurant in town. Most of the flavor was little blend but that's what I really liked it. Not much MSG and it seems like made from scratches. Love to come back to try more.

Yelp
Really cute restaurant! Loved the inside decor of the restaurant with the feel of being in the streets of Vietnam. Ordered the Com Tam Saigon and Bo Ne (Vietnamese steak and eggs). The com tam was really good. Meat was flavorful and the dipping sauce was tasty. Lots of variety too with the shredded pork skin and piece of Vietnamese meatloaf. The Bo Ne was good but not our favorite place for Bo Ne. The skillet didn't have that crackling sizzle to it and I found it to be just a little lacking in flavor. Street parking right outside the restaurant and there's a parking garage for the retail stores in the area too.

Yelp
We came here because of a tik tok, and it looked like the mother land. The decor, and menu looked amazing. The server was attentive and we took all his suggestions. However the food was disappointing. The mango salad we had, the mangoes were too ripe and made it a little mushy. The bánh xèo tacos were okay. The pho broth was a little too salty and murky looking. The noodles were over cooked and mushy for the pho. The vermicelli bowl and rice plate both looked perfect and tasted great. I am too disappointed in the other dishes to ever come back here.

Yelp
This place is within walking distance to my place and I was finally able to try! The food was so flavorful, I loved the marinade/seasonings on the chicken and beef, and the Banh Xeo Tacos were nothing like I've tried before. I definitely recommend sharing so you can try multiples dishes at once (it was a hard decision on what to order, everything sounded soooo delicious). I love that the chicken dish came with Pandan sticky rice, and that the other dish came with coconut rice . It was a beautiful day so we sat outside, but forewarning those seats are so small I felt like I was sitting at a kids table. Regardless, we had a great meal and ended it with refreshing coconut ice cream.

Yelp
It's a cute little place tucked into Roosevelt and maybe a less than a minute walk from the link station. We got the Bánh Xèo Taco and it was really good! It had a nice crunch too it that was balanced out well w the fish sauce and the lettuce. The bun bo hue portion size was huge! The noodles were cooked perfectly and they had a lot of standing meats and stuff in it. The soup looks really spicy but it's not so def use the extra lil spicy sauce they give on the side.

Yelp
Really good service, super well decorated interior. Food was delicious! I like how you could get things that usually aren't available at other restaurants

Yelp
I was excited to try this restaurant but left very disappointed! Street parking is easy to find around this area. The restaurant is big, and is great for big groups. The decoration is spot on, it makes you feel like you're eating on the street of Vietnam. The menu is not your typical Vietnamese restaurant menu, it has many Viet specialty dishes that you cannot find at other restaurants. Service: phenomenal, our server was very excited and explained the menu in details to us! Food: Bo ne: the meat was so chewy that we couldn't chew half of it, the rest of the meal was okay Vit nuong chao: I like the fermented bean curd but my friend did not like it at all, so keep this in mind when you order this dish! The duck meat is quite bland and the dish is not remarkable. For both dishes, the presentation was good but the portion size was small for the price.

Yelp
Overall, I have mixed feelings about this place...So will share some notes on the good and eh moments ~ The Good - Really friendly service! The staff here is nice and very welcoming - Interior: Homey but at the same time trendy. Makes a great IG spot - Homemade chrysanthemum tea: Very refreshing to drink if you're looking for something different -Best Dish I tried: Coconut Island ~ this dessert was quite a beauty to look at! Very yummy and I love how the splash of Vietnamese coffee balances out the sweetness. - Drinks Menu: Didn't get a chance to try the cocktails but the offerings here sounded really tasty! The Eh - Overall, I felt the food here (except dessert) was ok. All the dishes I tried with my friend had really nice presentation but lacks the yummy factor. - Appetizer: Green Mussels ~ Dig the concept but the dish itself was a wee bit cold and despite the seasonings, it didn't have any memorable or distinct taste -Entrees: Pho Supreme & Grilled Chicken Pho Supreme: opted for this to try out the poached egg with the pho and couldn't really tell much difference. Broth was rather bland and even with adding some sauce, it didn't help much. The fresh noodles was great though Grilled Chicken: Not as spicy as I thought... the best thing I liked about this dish was the sweet sticky rice. The grilled chicken itself was a bit too dry and again, tasted a bit bland. - Prices: Definitely a lot higher than your average Viet restaurant but I guess you pay more for the service and ambience of the place Overall- I would suggest coming here if you fancy some yummy drinks... Food itself is a hit or miss.

Yelp
If I could give this place 3.5 stars instead of 3, I would. Like most other reviews have mentioned already, the decor is spot on and will definitely remind you of Vietnam if you've been there before. However, I think that's kind of where the good stops for me though. We got the crispy fried oyster mushrooms and grilled mussels to start. My partner got the pho tai nam and I got the bun bo. The crispy fried oyster mushrooms were decent in a sense that the dough to mushroom ratio was good cause I didn't feel like I was just eating 90% batter, but they were tasteless without the sauce that it came with. I had hoped for some reason that they may have at least salted the mushrooms a bit or even did like a salt and pepper flavor, but that wasn't the case. The grilled mussels were good and reminded me of how my mom would make them so it was a pass. The only thing that made me want to get them again was the spicy sauce that it came with. It was a spicy and tangy lime based sauce that really elevated what would otherwise be an ordinary dish. The pho tai nam was just meh. I wouldn't pay $17 again for it. The bun bo was initially really disappointing and flavorless. Thank goodness I had asked for a soup spoon because I wouldn't have gotten all my garnishes and the typical spicy saute chili sauce that this dish would come with otherwise. The servers that brought out or food forgot all the beansprouts, basil, and other fixings for the pho and my dish so the owner had to bring it out for us. After adding the spicy saute chili sauce, the dish started tasting more like what it should be, but was still lacking a lot of flavor to be honest. The pork blood that I got in there was all in tiny pieces in the soup so that kind of tells me that they were cooking it for too long. The service on a Tuesday night was ok. I felt like the only time my water was filled was because we sat in the bar and the owner (I presume) saw our glasses near empty and came over when he had a free moment. Honestly the whole experience was rather disappointing for the soups, but I think I'd give it one more chance for the rice and vermicelli dishes. Word of warning as well, the prices reflect in the decor. It's not cheap.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and got the pho. Service was quick and good. The pho was alright but I don't think I really like the noodles that they have here compared to normal pho noodles. The broth was good and I didn't have to add any additional sauce to it. I also ordered the extra meat and it was a little smaller than I expected. Will probably come back to try their non-pho dishes.
google avatar

Yelp
Super cute and cozy vibe here. There were a lot of us who came in, and I called around 15mins before we were to arrive, and they were super accommodating of our larger party. Our table was pretty much ready by the time we arrived and we were able to be seated quickly. I ordered the Pho Tai Nam, which had steak and brisket, and I don't have too many harshly bad things to say about it, but there were just a bunch of little things that built up. I thought the broth was good and flavorful, and they were generous with the meat. When you get a pho here, you have the option of a 'fresh' noodle or a 'thin' noodle. I went with the fresh noodle since that seemed like it would be specific to this restaurant. Unfortunately the fresh noodles didn't hold together as well as I wish they did. They veered soft/borderline mushy. I'm not sure what the thin noodles taste like, but I'd recommend trying that over the fresh noodles. The soup also came out warm, but not hot like it usually is when it's fresh. It was just strange to me that I was able to start slurping up the soup so easily when I usually burn my tongue at least once. Also! There are not that many vegetarian options on the menu in case you or any friends are vegetarian-- maybe this isn't the best place.

Yelp
Service was Excellent The decor inside was amazing with a motorcycle and all three nostalgia of living in Vietnam. The iron gates, the street food stall, and even the low tables. Love the plants and nice attention to details. We ordered squid and that was probably our favorite. The sauce made it less crunchy so I would recommend to consider sauce on the side and maybe a drizzles of it for aesthetic. We also got duck noodle with fermented tofu (chao) sauce and the plating was beautiful. I love that the okra was not slimy at all. Really nice addition to the dish. The duck texture was more on the chewy and crunchy crispy skin instead is tender meat and soft skin with soft oily skin that you find at the duck BBq places. Growing up eating meat with this texture completely reminded me of my childhood and I enjoyed the crispy skin. The lotus and shrimp salad was perfection. All the sweet and sour flavors of a Vietnamese salad with fresh herbs and a variety of textures to keep it interesting. It was missing the peanuts but I think they are conscientious of nut allergies. Parking was a bit of a challenge with this area but not too bad. Would definitely come back with a crowd.

Yelp
The decorations at Ong Lam are beautiful!! The trees, the festive lights, the street food carts, and the bar just made this a place to be at. Our group of 4 ordered two bun rieus, an ong lam pho and the banh xeo tacos. The banh xeo tacos looked exactly like tacos to our surprise, and the pho was decently delicious and perfectly warm for a rainy day in Seattle. The bun rieu was an interesting fusion that was unfortunately not for me -- the pork ribs threw me off not only because they were really dry, but also since I expected more seafood and tomato as ingredients and part of the broth. The other dishes on their menu do look fantastic though!
google avatar

Kristen K.

Yelp
What to expect at Ong Lam: Yummy, unique Vietnamese dishes and tasty drinks, with small portions and high prices. So, adjust your expectations accordingly! I'd recommend coming to Ong Lam with a small group (2-4 people) and ordering an assortment of dishes to try and share. Food presentation is beautiful, but portions are very small, and prices are very high. You'll be looking at $12-16 for most small appetizers and $18-24 for most small entrees. So if you want to leave full, bring a full wallet. Overall, everything we ate was very delicious and a rare treat! In particular, I enjoyed the "Vietnamese tacos" and chicken wings. I also like the vibes of the restaurant, which has a full bar on one end and a pseudo Vietnamese restaurant front (with large signs, an awning, and metal gate) on the other end. The location is also good, located right between the north and south exits of the Roosevelt Light Rail Station. Parking can be a bit of a challenge but there is limited street parking in the area.

Yelp
I sat down with a few friends at ong lam at 8pm on a Tuesday. I was really excited for this place as I had seen it on social media a few times and was eager to try it out. I got the vit nuong chao and my boyfriend got the bo ne. The portions for my food were a bit smaller than expected, which is not a huge deal but it was $24 so I had hoped for a little more. I'm relatively small (5ft ~115lbs) and I finished all of it with some room to spare. The texture of the noodles was great, nice and chewy, but I would have like a little more flavor in the duck. My boyfriend liked the duck, though! Overall, we rate the food a solid 4/5. The reason I'm giving a 3 star review has more to do with the service. There were a few issues with the communication between the servers: They told us the kitchen was out of kumquat and the drink we ordered wasn't available. No problem, we asked them to replace it with a different drink. Lo and behold, our original drink came out a few minutes later with no explanation, as well as the replacement drink. We were also told there were 2 specials going on: one for free drinks and one for 10% off the bill. We did both of the specials (one was write a review, one was to check in) and were told after we did both that only 1 would be valid. The wording in the menu is a bit confusing, and I would not have ordered the drinks if I had known you couldn't redeem both specials. Overall, decent (maybe a little overpriced) food, still some kinks to work out with the service.

Yelp
Love love love the decor and ambiance! It feels just like home! Food was pretty good, there were some things I'd get again and others that I could skip. Service was great (sometimes a little too much) but overall, we had a nice dinner and I'd definitely come back! We came on a Thursday night and made reservations, but it definitely was not needed because the restaurant is quite big and had plenty of seating. I loved that all of their decor, from the nước mía cart to the different signs and even their tables and chairs, are reminiscent of Vietnam. I couldn't help but feel nostalgic while sitting down and eating, as if I was transported back home. We ordered cánh gà xả ớt (lemongrass fried chicken) and although the chicken was cooked well, all of the sauce was on the bottom so there wasn't enough to coat the chicken evenly. I also couldn't taste the lemongrass at all, unfortunately. The chem chép nướng mỡ hành was very delicious with rau răm and their special sauce! For mains, we both got the Pho Ong Lam, which is the house combo pho, with fresh noodles (must get fresh noodles). The broth was clean and delicious! Everything in that bowl was amazing. For dessert we got the flan, which is perfect for 2 people sharing because it is rich. Overall, I'd definitely come back to try their other dishes and unique cocktails and I highly recommend!

Yelp
After seeing this place pop up on my social media account, I definitely felt intrigued to try it! And at the end of the day, this is a pretty solid place to try some unique Vietnamese items. My wife and I ordered an array of dishes, including the popular Bánh Xèo tacos, Com Tâm Sài Gòn, and Bún Riêu (a noodle soup). The appetizer tacos were very unique and tasted really good, but my wife and I felt that it was a bit small and skimpy. We noticed that the shrimps were sliced in half, which lowered our enjoyment. The pork also were pretty dry and was ably salvageable with a hefty pour of fish sauce. The entrees were great. The broken rice dish was very flavorful, and it was quite good. And soup was spicy and flavorful as well. Despite this praise, nothing really blew us away - it was all quite good. This place is definitely a solid place to try different Vietnamese dishes and is a cute gem in the midst of Roosevelt. We'll be back to try the pho next time!

Yelp
The food was flavorful and delicious here. Very different from your regular Vietnamese pho shop. Good portions and fresh ingredients. Service was great and the it's such a fun interior with the signs and trees and bike that makes you feel like you're actually in Vietnam. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Beautiful little place. The aesthetic is awesome. The menus have an old timey, parchment paper feel. There are both neon lights and fancy wooden tables, creating a night market/street fair vibe. A great pairing with Seattle's rainy weather. Their calamari and fried oyster mushrooms come with salted egg yolk aoili and it will blow your freaking mind. This sauce is so addicting I literally finished almost both appetizers by myself. Brilliant flavor. I also got the Bo Ne and holy shit. My jaw dropped when I pulled apart the bread. It was perfectly crispy on the outside but unbelievably smooth to pull apart. It was so smooth to chew and a perfect platform for the pate. The fries were also godly. The only thing I was mildly disappointed by: the egg got cooked too much on the hot skillet and the steak was a bit difficult to cut as well. I topped off the meal with a Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. Downed the whole thing in an instant. No regrets. I couldn't help but order their sugarcane drink as well and I accidentally finished half of it in one gulp. As soon as I started sipping I couldn't stop. Truly dangerous. I also tried my wife's pho and my horizons expanded. They serve it with their special combo side sauce of hoysein and hot sauce, and what a sensual flavor it is. Straight to flavor town. Highly recommend this place for your late night dinner.

Yelp
My friend and I ordered the vit nuong chao, ga nuong muoi ot, com tam, and bun bo hue. The duck in the vit nuong chao was the best in my opinion, but the ga nuong muoi ot was also incredible. I would not recommend getting their bun bo hue, and the com tam was just ok. Highly recommend their desserts! The ambiance and service were both good. I would come back!

The vibes were cute and the presentation was really pretty, but the meals were all kinda bland! We got the com tam, and the meat had good char but little flavor. The fish sauce was also pretty bland. My husband ordered bun bo hue and also said the broth was not as flavorful as other places we've been to in Philly!

Yelp
Deliciousness! A cute restaurant in the Ravenna neighborhood. I ate in soon after they opened and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I also got the same items for take out. I got the Bánh Xèo Tacos, which were my favorite. Vietnamese crepe with shrimp, pork, bean sprout, green leaf lettuce and herbs, nước chấm I also got the Vịt Nướng Chao - duck dish. It's a little dry and could use a sauce. Maple Leaf Farms fermented bean curd marinated duck breast grilled with garlic egg noodles, sauteed okra. The dishes are fairly pricey and the lunch cost us over $40 but they are delicious and the space is cute.

Yelp
Took the time to come here with my boyfriend after seeing many advertisements. We were seated at the 21+ area near the windows. I got a drink from the happy hour menu. The drink was called Drunken Lychee. It contained lychee which made it sweet refreshing and tasty. For our appetizer we got the Bánh Xèo Tacos, the banh xeo was crispy, crunchy, and very flavorful. My boyfriend and I shared this dish. I liked the array of vegetables that were offered with it. Really good choices to pair with it! I'm used to the regular sized banh xeo so these smaller ones brought on a lighter snack. The main courses were amazing! I got the Vịt Nướng Chao otherwise known as egg noodles with duck and my boyfriend got the Bún Huế Chay, which is a vegetarian version of the popular Bun Bo Hue. Upon eating my dish, I really liked how savory and soft the duck was, but I noticed the noodles were quite a bit salty. To combat the saltiness, the okra was a great addition. I know most people aren't keen to okra, but I really loved the crunchiness of the vegetable. My boyfriend enjoyed his Bún Huế Chay too! It offered a clean and was a less rich taste than the regular Bun Bo Hue. It would be great if they could somehow make the vegetable broth as rich as the beef broth. Overall, I would come here again! There are some dishes that are on my wishlist!

Yelp
Arrived at the place 12:10pm, not busy(there are only 3 tables occupied). Ordered with five minutes we sat down, and got the appetizer after 30 minutes , and a bowl of pho at 1pm. Food is in small portion and overpriced. Not sure how they got such good reviews on yelp. Poorly managed.

Yelp
The interior has a bounty of natural light, as it's completely lined with glass. It's super roomy and modern, with a touch of traditional Vietnamese decorations that pay homage to street vendors. The food itself is also very solid. They give a nice portion of meat with each dish. We got the duck noodles and chicken plate. Both were very flavorful and we left very satisfied. There's a bar in the back that seems like it'd be a great vibe for a Thursday/Friday night with friends.

Yelp
What a wonderfully yummy place this is! My friend was visiting from out of town needed to stay close to the link station. She picked out Ong Lam Bistro and I'm so glad she did. We decided to split the Bánh Xèo Petites, Gỏi Ngó Sen, and Bún Huế Chay. The Bánh Xèo Petites were wonderfully refreshing and tasty as was the Gỏi Ngó Sen. I was most surprised by the Bún Huế Chay. I couldn't believe it was vegetarian! It was savory and the broth was so delicious. We ended our meal with their Khúc Bạch, a dessert that my friend mentioned isn't common to find in the States. This too was also lovely and refreshing, especially on a warmer day. Everything on the menu looks amazing and I'm sure I'll be back. This is one of those rare places where the presentation and taste are on par.

Yelp
This is a very memorable Vietnamese restaurant! The decor is set up to replicate the streets of Vietnam which I truly appreciated! There's a few tasty options on the menu and I went for the banh xeo tacos and the bun rieu. The banh xeo tacos were so crispy, crunchy, yet savory with a hint of the coconut milk. It was fanastic and a great concept to make these into tacos. The bun rieu was a bit of a miss for me. The meat was super juicy and tender but the broth could have been more flavorful. My server was great with checking up on me. I'd definitely come back to the rest of the menu.

Yelp
The service was incredibly slow, making for a frustrating experience. The food was just okay, nothing particularly impressive.

Yelp
Easily some of the best food I've had in Seattle and my favorite Vietnamese food ever! The place is decorated so well that it makes someone feel even the tiniest bit that they are in Vietnam. We had three different dishes and each was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The drinks were also delicious. Can't recommend this place highly enough!

Yelp
Ambiance - 3 stars Food - 2 stars Solid 2.5 star restaurant, but rounding up to 3. Don't expect much frill or service. Space is big, but the overall decor didn't match. It was a little bit of everything thrown around. There were random scooters where it doesn't make sense to have and regular more modern tables and chairs on one side and more street food vibes with short little folding chairs and tables in the corner. Food was beautifully presented, but portions were small and taste was bland. We ordered: - Banh Xeo Tacos- There was a piece of hair cooked into the batter and it gave me the ick. Flavorwise, it was pretty bland even with the nouc cham. There was one piece of shrimp butterflied in each mini banh xeo taco and some pork belly and bean sprouts. - Bo ne - Very under seasoned. The steak was chewy and overcooked, housemade pate was interesting. It was ground pork and had a dry texture. The two mini baguettes it came with was cute and perfectly crispy and warm with a fluffy interior! It was served with some soy sauce and hot sauce on the side, which helped the flavor a little bit. - Vit Nuong Chao - Fermented bean curd marinated duck didn't have much bean curd flavor, but it came with the sauce on the side which helped. The garlic egg noodles were decent and the sauteed okra was ok as well. Nothing bad about this dish, but nothing amazing. - Coconut Island - Coconut ice cream wasn't really creamy or icy. It just tasted....slimy. It was topped with some coconut, really bitter Vietnamese coffee, peanuts, canned logan, canned jackfruit and a macaron. For an $18 dessert, I expected better quality, but between the 3 of us, we couldn't finish it because texture was just too off-putting. I'm glad I got to try this place because I was curious about it for so long, but not sure I would return.

Yelp
The ambiance was spot on! Felt like I was on the streets of bustling Vietnam grabbing some comforting Viet food! Service was quick otherwise pretty standard Unfortunately, the food did not deliver that authentic Viet feeling. The bánh mi sandwich might have been a fusion but got lost on the way and just fell apart. The French fries with the sandwich.. Ugh it was not even elevated. Felt like it was thrown into the mix to justify the elevated price. The pho was missing the umami and spices in your classic pho soup. I won't go too hard on this as I came to realize everyone has their own version of pho but some principals should be concrete The bánh xèo presentation. Was nice but the nước mắm was too sweet. Honestly, I probably come back and try the drinks and enjoy the ambiance. They have a bar.

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS EVERYTHING!!! Literally the moment I entered I am transported to Vietnam. Food: 10/10, food is very well done, our favorite was the Bo Ne and Vit Nuong Chao. Tastes like the restaurant in the alley in Vietnam, took me back. The banh mi (bread) was soooo good like not the baguette but actual Viet banh mi, so good we brought home the leftover bread. The pho came with legit hot sauce, not Sriracha, like how we do it in Vietnam so I'm honestly so impressed. Vibe: 20/10, not loud, very peaceful vibe, vpop playlist amazing, decor is super attentive to detail, all furniture reflect Viet culture Service: 10/10, staff very attentive, the restaurant wasn't crowded so when the staff realized we ordered a lot of food, they offered to move us to a bigger table So happy to have found this place on my trip to Seattle. Cannot wait to come back next time I am in Seattle!!

Yelp
Free parking in the garage if you are a dining here. Ambiance and the interior decor is amazing, unforgettable and definitely makes you feel like you're actually in VN. They have a real bar with DJ. Lots and lots of seating, one of the biggest viet reustraunts in Seattle, if not the biggest. Menu is vast. We got their banh kep (three mini bán xèo), it's like a Vietnamese omelette. Honestly it's just okay. More bland than I'd like it, 3/5. Their steak and egg platter was just mediocre, 3.5/5, nothing to brag to your friends about.

Yelp
Love the decor - it's like eating on the streets in Vietnam, except through rose-tinted glasses. Service was excellent, when you do get it. We were there on a busy Saturday night and they did their best, but it was a bit tough getting the servers attention to order. However, everytime one of them came by, they would ask if we needed our water re-filled or how the food was. We had the deep fried calamari which came with a simply awesome salted egg yolk aioli. We were battling for that sauce to wipe on to our pieces of calamari, and we could definitely have done with more of the sauce. The grilled half chicken came with a little pod of delicious coconut-flavored rice. Very much like the Nasi Lemak in Malaysian/Singaporean cuisine.... except that there wasn't enough of it. We didn't try the special sauces that came with the dish as the chicken was already very flavorful and sufficiently salty. The skin was nicely crispy, but the meat was a little dry. Bun rieu was good, flavor was there and it came with generous amounts of pork spare ribs. The best part of this was the crab meatballs. We did want the lobster instead of the spare ribs but it was sold out. The ribs could have been cooked a little more for a bit more tenderness. Could have done better to get the 5 stars, but definitely worth another visit next time we are in the area. Free parking for 2 hours in the basement of the building so you won't have to search for scarce street parking in the Roosevelt area.

Yelp
I thought I reviewed Ong Lam earlier but realized I forgot to do so. We came here for the first time 2 weeks ago and loved everything we ate. We came back a 2nd time within the week and 2 others and they loved it as well. Great Vietnamese food that's unique and somewhat elevated!

Yelp
Food was good but service was disappointing. They were out of several dishes tonight including 2 of 4 entrees with an already small menu. The server did not mention these until after we ordered and then the kitchen had to further come out and explain they were also out of an appetizer. We were seated at 515 and I would think a restaurant that was up and coming would have been better stocked or at least the kitchen could have informed the servers of shortages ahead of time for smoother service experience. The manager came out and apologized saying they had a huge amount of business the past few days and we're "wiped out". I mean not to be harsh, but you are in the food service business, with the owner having a second restaurant location elsewhere I would think supporting his new business would have been paramount... THEY RAN OUT OF CHICKEN AND PORK AND SHRIMP. I would have allocated materials from the other business to not make the new location look unprepared and understaffed and a little out of their league. Expect to leave a bit hungry, their portions are *small*, albeit tasty. It was good but still lacking the *punch* of flavors you expect from Viet cuisine. It felt a bit "dumbed down" in that sense. We ordered the spring rolls, which tho tasty seemed to be lacking in shrimp, I think one of us got a bite of shrimp in their portion, probably stretching what they had to still serve *some* dishes authentically tho with skimpy amounts of ingredients. We ordered the shrimp salad but that was one of the dishes we were told was sold out 10 minutes after our order was placed. We wanted the roast half chicken and pork belly dishes, but they were out of both, so opted for the steak with eggs (literally the two cooked eggs were bigger than the steak by x2, I think it was a 3oz cut of a tenderloin, with soggy fries sitting in the jus and a scoop of pate. Flavors were nice but as far as "entree" it was more like an appetizer when shared. We then each (three of us) ordered a banh mi slider. The pork banh mi sliders were 97% bread, the pork filling was just a scattering of "stir fried pork" and definitely not grilled. The filing was less than half shown in their website photos. Flavors were once again good, but muted. The fries were good, good ole regular fries with ketchup. We filled up on those thankfully. The manager of the establishment came to offer complimentary desserts for their shortcomings that evening which was a nice thoughtful gesture, only to find out 1 of 2 desserts was unavailable and 2 of the ice cream flavors we ordered they had to "make sure the kitchen still had it". Just know that their food photos have the "instagram filter" on them so to speak and the execution still looks very different from reality (most of the photos are extreme closeups to help make the portions look bigger than they are). Ambiance is decent they have "street food storefront chic" with mixes of modern with accents of traditional. Chairs were comfortable but seating seemed a bit sparse, and the use of the floor space seemed awkwardly empty around the entrance area. I'm leave my my review at 3 stars with the hope they get their act together and what I experienced on my birthday was just a poorly timed snap shot and not their "best effort".

Yelp
I can see the hype of this place but if you have true Vietnamese dishes, this place is way overpriced and whitewashed. First of all, my pho was not even hot at all - it was lukewarm with a raw egg in there. The whole point of the egg is to mix it with the hot broth. Bo Ne's egg was overcooked. It is disappointing. The server forgot our drink as well.

Yelp
Went with a couple friends to try out the new Vietnamese spot in Ong Lam. It was enjoyable but to be honest it just just a bit average in terms of taste. But what was above average was definitely the presentation and the ambiance of the restaurant. Indoor trees and the seating arrangements make for a nice spot to eat and talk. I tried the com tam and honestly I was a bit disappointed. Com tam usually isn't served with chicken and I would say I got broken rice with chicken and eggs instead. The xôi was good and presented in a way I wouldn't expect it to. I would only recommend coming here if you go with a group and if on a nice occasion since the price is a bit high for what it is. You're paying mostly for the presentation of the food. The service here I would say just just average overall.

Yelp
This place definitely gave me a little piece of Vietnam with the decor and recreation of a Vietnamese street store front. I'm like yeah, this feels like Vietnam. Very impressive interior design. The menu was pretty impressive too being designed after a newspaper. One of the few times I'll take a photo of the menu because it was very creative and well done. The restaurant has a good amount of items on the menu. Not overwhelming and not too little. I feel like they went to far in the presentation of some of the food though. Definitely has an elevated type of feel with the food though. So it's a must for me to order their Vietnamese iced coffee (cafe sua da). If it ain't good the food won't be either. Lucky for them the coffee was deep and strong. Just perfect to my liking. My friends and I shared their Banh Xeo Petites and Xoi. The banh xeo was good and had a very nice crisp to them. The xoi was super disappointing though. 14 for that?!?! Sorry, but not good enough for how small each piece was. Presentation is cute, but it just wasn't good enough. Main course, I went with the Com Tam while my friends shaired the Vit Nuong Chao. Overall, pretty flavorful and the egg was done nicely. Very solid dishes. Have to say, this is a very unique place for Vietnamese food. Makes you feel like you're in the country and tries to elevate the food to be more refined that a simple home made dish. I give props to them for leveling up the Vietnamese food game.

Yelp
We were warmly greeted right away; the staff were very welcoming and friendly! They checked on us often throughout our meal. Everything was delicious! The pho noodles were made from scratch in house. The coconut dessert was my favorite.
