Where to Drink, Stay, and Play in Oaxaca

"For inventive salads and sandwiches, seriously good bread, and some of the best coffee in town, head to Onnno Lonchería. Devoted to perfecting his sourdough, Chef Gustavo Coutiño imports organic unbleached flour from the US for the optimal chew and tang."

The Perfect 24-Hour Food Itinerary for Oaxaca, Mexico | Eater

"A premier coffee shop with high ceilings, white walls, and vintage furnishings that showcase many local bean varieties and an expansive coffee menu spanning intense espressos, cold brews, frappes (including lavender), and caffeine-free options like flavored kombuchas. The relaxed, stylish atmosphere makes it an ideal stop for both serious coffee drinkers and casual visitors." - María Ítaka

Best breakfast I have ever had! The tomatoes had been softened with rosemary & a touch of garlic, the homemade sourdough was incredible, the scrambled eggs fresh and perfectly cooked and the pea salad dressed in an incredible vinaigrette - do not miss the horchata cafe! Incredible quality produce, gorgeous presentation and fantastic service!

The avocado toast was so fresh and delicious I had to go twice. I really love the whole feel of Onno, it’s a great spot in Oaxaca. Staff are friendly and attentive and the menu has lots of things to try if you’re tired of tacos. I also had a delicious creamy Chai. Will definitely go back when I’m in Oaxaca again!

Croissants go to eleven. Best pastries in town! Really good breakfasts as well and the coffee is good. Hard to go wrong.

My go to breakfast and coffee for my month in Oaxaca. The maple latte is so good if you like sweet lattes. The egg breakfast sandwich and the pork sandwich were some of my favorites. Spend some time walking around Jalatlaco too! Super cute.

The best breakfast I’ve had in Mexico and up there with the best I’ve ever had. The hotcakes are INSANE. Just order one (at least) you won’t regret it. The chicken salad is sensational and I’m a huge salad fan so my standards are high. Just wow! Service was great, outdoor area in the back is lovely and good vibes. Will be coming here again and again! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

I've been obsessed with this restaurant for a while, from the perfect pastries to the great food and drinks, they excel at everything that they do. My favorite salad used to be the caesar until they took it off the menu but I got to try their ensalada de la casa which became my favorite and honestly it's one of the best salads I've had! Their burger and their sandwiches are really good too, but their pastries are on another level. They make a delicious banana bread that's my mom's favorite and I lovee their lemon and blueberry cake. Came back after the remodel and still love it! The service is always lovely and so is the place.
