It's a restaurant hidden in the back of a grocery store, that is hidden in the back of a warehouse. A bit of a Russian nesting doll situation! Once there though, the food is great. I had the garlic noodles and enjoyed them. I can see this as a great cheap lunch spot if you work close by.

My husband is from Hawaii and said, “It's the best Hawaiian food on the mainland!” He got the loco moco and was impressed with the restaurant-quality hamburger patties and mushroom gravy. The macaroni salad felt authentic and homemade. I got the garlic noodles which were tasty and very filling. The staff were very friendly and the service was fast.

I occasionally shop at United Noodles and finally decided to try this place. The cashier girl was super friendly and helpful explaining things on the menu. I ordered the Kalbi and BBQ chicken plate and it was beyond my expectations! The chicken was moist and charred to perfection. The short ribs were very flavorful and excellent! The rice was under the meat so it absorbed all the flavors and colors and made it 100x more delicious. I would recommend and will definitely be going back!

Ono Hawaiian Plates is amazing. It’s a small restaurant situated in an Asian grocery store with open seating. I got a mixed plate with katsu and galbi, and substituted noodles for my rice. It was so delicious, the noodles had such great garlic flavor that paired so well with both meats. I usually don’t like onions and peppers in my noodles, but the onions and peppers were not overwhelming at all and contributed to the aromatic flavor. The katsu was incredibly crispy, but not overcooked and chewy. The galbi was the best by far, having excellent flavor. The katsu came with a sauce that seemed to be ketchup based, but I didn’t end up using it. The galbi was so flavorful it didn’t even need the teriyaki sauce. The portions were huge, I had enough of everything to take home. The service was really amazing, the host brought my food out to me when it was ready and grabbed utensils for me when I forgot. I would travel into Minneapolis just to eat here and shop next door.

This place is such a hidden gem! It’s unassuming but don’t write it off! Everything is reasonably priced and incredibly packed with flavor. We ordered the chicken katsu and BBQ chicken mixed plate and substituted the rice for garlic noodles and the portion size was amazing for the price. Definitely will be back! 🍜

Tucked away down the alley insode the United Noodle Asian grocery store, is a genuine Hawaian surprise. I shop here a lot, but have never eaten here but that’s gonna change starting today. it’s like Ted’s breakfast on the North Shore of Oahu, but cheaper, less crowded but without the view. I had the Kailua pork lunch plate which includes a mountain of shredded pork two rice scoopsand the usual delicious mayo infused and sweet macaroni salad that will bring you back to the island memories. The best part is the guava BBQ sauce. It's $11 and I brought leftovers home.

Had the BBQ plate, since it was chicken thighs and they give you a decent amount it wasn’t dry at all, had so much flavor didn’t even use the extra teriyaki cup. Mac salad was too mayo’y and I liked the flavor compared to some other spots I have tried around the US which has too much pepper, this was subtle and decent. Worth the 12.50 price tag.

Got the chicken katsu, it was well cooked. Garlic shrimp was on the oily side. Fries were good. Fire pepper sauce was the best!
