Super delicious food!! When I want a break from winter, we get their poke and bbq chicken and pretend we’re on our honeymoon again. So happy they’re here 🥰 They’re not too far from First Avenue, too!

Google
We came at lunch right when they opened. I’m so happy we can get yummy Hawaiian food in Minneapolis. In the North Loop Galley, other fast casual restaurants and a bar are also located here. You can order at the register, get a number and they bring your order to your table. Or you can order with a QR code right at the table, very convenient! The portions were plentiful. The fried rice and spam musubi were also amazing! There is pay by the hour garage parking and meters nearby. We will definitely be back!

Google
Mahalo, Jess and Warren, for providing this taste of Hawaii in Minnesota. Your plate lunches are fantastic, better even than the plate lunches in Hawaii. My fave is the kalua pork and Hawaiian BBQ chicken one! Too bad North Loop Galley is closing. See you at your other location in United Noodle.

Google
I went in for noodles, and found this restaurant that I had to try the ribs! Grab one plate to share with my son and even had left overs. Nice area, and smelled so good while shopping.

Google
This was one of our favorite food spots we have tried! The portions were generous and the food was high quality and delicious! It is located in a Food Hall (the only reason atmosphere got three stars is because it was very loud in there)- there is also an excellent bar in there if you’d like to have a drink with your meal. We highly recommend and will be going back!

Jose Gandia

Google
Overall the food was good. I just recommend to put it on a plate instead of a bowl so that the taste of poke doesn't mix with kalua pork. The shoyu was over flowing to the rice.

Luna Moreno

Google
Good food and a good environment. Portions are pretty big for the price so definitely worth it. Was surprised it was like a small food court in there but very well organized. We enjoyed the food but it was a little too greasy in my opinion so I got tired of the taste quickly. I’d come again, but get a plate to share with someone else.

Google
Absolutely amazing food for a great price! Definitely try the Hurricane Fries!!

Google
I had two things: the spam musubi and the Pork Combo. The katsu and kalua pork combo was able to feed two people. It came with two generous portions of pork, two scoops of rice, and a scoop of mac salad. The spam musubi was a bit soggy due to overcooked rice but the spam itself was good. As for the pork, I wish it included more sauce. The rice it came with was also overcooked resulting in it being "mushy." The Mac salad was honestly my favorite part. It was the best mac salad that I have ever tried. I will be coming back for more of that for sure. The environment that it is in is a fantastic place to go with people who have different food tastes. There are multiple restaurants next to it.

Yelp
As someone who has spent much of my life in the islands, I am always on the search for some 'ono grindz and 'āina style food. This place has just that. Here, you can find poke, kalua pork, huli huli chicken, mac salad, and plenty of other island favorites, all for an affordable price. I opted for the spicy and shoyu poke, mac salad, kalua pork, and huli huli chicken, and all were absolutely incredible. By far the best poke I've had in the Twin Cities, and some of the closest I've found to island style outside of the islands. The mac salad was wonderful as well as the kalua pork and huli huli chicken. Everything was great and certainly what I had hoped it to be. The service is nice enough, you order at a window and someone will come bring it to you, and clean up your dishes. Very efficient. And the ambiance is good enough too, it's in one of those more modern looking food-court establishments in which several vendors occupy a space, and the tables are all shared. I feel for a place like this, it is perfectly acceptable. All in all, a wonderful experience. I highly recommend.

Yelp
I've always heard good things about Ono and was super excited to try it. This one is located inside a food hall called the Galley. You can order at the window or you can grab a table and order via the QR code and they deliver the food to you. I thought it was a bit wild that right after you order like under 5 minutes they are walking the food over to your table which says nothing is made hot & fresh. I do get with how hectic these food halls can get it would be hard to keep up but with the prices I guess I expected a bit more freshness. We ordered the Chicken Katsu w/ a variety of sauces. It also came with rice and cold mac & cheese. In the menu photos of the chicken katsu looked like white meat which is why ordered but when it came it was thigh/dark meat. Also lukewarm, would have been better hot also. Overall wasn't impressed & a bit disappointed.

Yelp
So good! Has such an authentic and homemade flavor, just like what I make at home. I go to United Noodles all the time and I'm happy to see them use the restaurant space again. They give a very good amount of food for the price, definitely shareable. I also love the variety of sauces to choose from. Tables can be limited on more busy days. Employees are always so friendly and helpful when making menu recommendations.

Yelp
Located in a food hall this place has very good Hawaiian food. I ordered the chicken Katsu and Kalua pork plate and substituted garlic noodles for less than $20 total. I got a mountain of food that could feed 2 people easily. I would recommend the chicken Katsu, super juicy, very crispy panko crust with a garlic flavor and goes great with the dipping sauce. Buy extra sauce as you will need at least 2 and they have multiple flavors. The Kalua pork is a little salty and doesn't have much flavor, not too different from regular pulled pork but my partner liked it. The garlic noodles were a little salty but went well with the creamy Mac salad. Pro tip they do charge a credit card fee of 3% so bring cash if you have it. I will definitely come back next time and try something else on the menu!

Yelp
This was one of the best experiences I've had in a cafeteria setting. Their menu has a variety of options to choose from whether it be from burgers or spicy chicken sandwiches to spam sushi and poke bowls. The food was made to order and served hot! Their burger is one of the best burgers I've tasted. The meat was marinated in teriyaki sauce. Next time, I'd get the fries without any sauce, but you cannot go wrong with either sandwich. Definitely going back here later this summer.

Yelp
Kindest people with some of the best food in the twin cities. Mac salad for the win! Loco Moco is classic but chicken cutlets is where it's at

Da V.

Yelp
Based on my experience, the restaurant prioritizes dine-in customers over take-out orders, as my chicken katsu portions were given to dine-in customers first, causing me to wait longer for my to-go order. They promised me a $15 "guester of goodwill" certificate, but I never received it. Initially, I thought the person responding to me was the owner, Warren Seta, but it turned out to be someone else. Their responses were defensive, and I still don't know who has been replying to my emails. Now, I've been instructed to speak directly with the owner at the central location regarding this experience. I also felt that because the restaurant has so many positive reviews, my feedback and experience were considered invalid or unimportant.

Yelp
I always crave Hawaiian food and Ono hits the spot! This is the closest thing I can get for Hawaiian food since the last time I went to Hawaii. Located in North Loop, there is a food court where it offers plenty of options to choose from. The staff is friendly and there is usually never a long wait everytime I'm. there. They will hand you a numbered ticket and you can sit wherever. There's plenty of seating to choose from! It is nice because they offer board games and TV for people to watch. My favorite dish to get is the Kalbi and Teriyaki Chicken combo. They give a big portion and is great for the value! I recommend to share with a friend so you have the option to try out other things from the menu. Ono Hawaiian is one of my top favorite places to go. There are many options to choose from and I can't wait to explore more of their offerings!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is such a fun place to have dinner, community dining at its best. You have options to eat and we came for the Hawaiian. Our first six years of marriage we spent time in the islands and we would chase a mixed plate wherever it would take us. Her at the galley we came for Ono and it did not disappoint. Terri chicken mixed plate and moco loco was a huge hit. Nothing says comfort food like a plate of teriyaki chicken a scoop of Mac salad and scoops of white rice. As far as the moco loco, it took me back to Poipu. Add a fruit punch and craft beer and you are in business.....

Yelp
This was my second time trying this place and it is absolutely amazing! I have been to Oahu once and this is so spot on to being on the island! It is paid street parking but you can either download the app or there are pay stations. This place is located inside a dining hall with 3 other restaurants. In the center there is a bar. There are board/card games that you can grab if you want! There are also stations with water/glasses/silverware/napkins etc... there is also an outdoor patio that is gorgeous! The service here was fantastic and so friendly! The food: holy moly yum!! Sooo good!! I have had the pork and now the shrimp and both were spot on to what I had when I was in Hawaii!! Soooo tasty!! I don't like Mac salad, so I can't speak to this but my nephew said it was "SO YUMMY." If you haven't checked this place out, why not!? Get moving! Haha

Yelp
This is a nice small spot located in the North Loop Galley. Of all the dining spots in the Galley this one stands out the most so had to try it. I was impressed. There was great flavor with both meats. The sides were pretty normal nothing to rave about. The flavor of the short ribs were phenomenal, a great marinade. They could been a tad more tender. Overall I'd have it again.
google avatar

Jordan P.

Yelp
I love a good Spam Masubi and they have a 10/10 Masubi! Pair it with the island Teryaki sauce
google avatar

Dianna N.

Yelp
Placed our order online and it was ready in 10 mins. There's plenty of seating in their large dining area or outdoor patio. Loco Moco is iconic Hawaii comfort food... instead of a hamburger patty this has deep fried chicken cutlets. Huge portion but only wished the homemade gravy had more umami flavor.

Yelp
First time visiting North Loop Galley. This modern take on a classic food court style dining has plenty to offer for everyone. We really wanted to try Ono, but will be coming back soon to try some of the other options. You can pick your table, order, and pay through your phone -- very easy, intuitive, and convenient. You can also order directly from the restaurant if you prefer. We were craving Hawaiian food and it did not disappoint. started with Spam Musubi. Very fresh, well seasoned, and warm. Perfect to start your meal. Portions are HUGE and very well priced for the location! We decided to share a Kalua Pork and Katsu Chicken Combo, and Spam Fried Rice, and it was almost too much. Katsu was nice and crispy and the pork was super tender and well seasoned. I'd highly recommend you get the Teriyaki BBQ sauce to dip the Katsu in. The sticky rice was perfect to balance out textures and flavors. The Spam Fried Rice is as simple and delicious as it sounds. Well seasoned with a healthy dose of sesame oil. Because this is a food court style hall, it can be a little louder than a typical restaurant, but the place is very spacious and there is plenty of seating to accommodate small and large groups. Did I mention they have a patio?! Will be back soon to try other options within North Loop Galley -- and maybe take a couple Spam Musubi for the road?

Yelp
We were so excited to see a Hawaiian spot within Minneapolis, that we failed to realize it was within the North Loop Galley. We found a food hall similar to this in Southern Florida, and were thrilled to see the style made its way north. You can choose to order from your table via QR code from any of the available choices within the food hall (including the bar), or you can walk up and order. Be aware - this is an open floor plan, so it can get noisy quickly. It was only about half full when we visited and we struggled to hear one another across the table. We tried, and split, a few different options. We were pleasantly surprised by the portions considering the pricing for the location. The Katsu was crunchy and juicy. The Kalua Pork was tender but a bit salty for my taste. The Spam Musubi was warm and the saltiness of the Spam paired well with the minimal salt in the rice. The Fried Rice was savory but could have used more flavor - I would recommend adding a sauce to your order to adjust the flavoring to fit your palate. We tried the spicy sauce (like a ketchup/sriracha combo) and the teriyaki barbecue. We favored the teriyaki barbecue. The Hawaiian Sun was light and refreshing.
google avatar

Jimmy D.

Yelp
The Kalua pork was really bland. The poke was very salty. The poke was served on the really hot rice, so it slowly cooked while I was eating it. Hot poke is not an experience I enjoy. Feels like they have all the parts and ingredients here. It just lacks a bit of foresight or experience that makes it good.

Yelp
So happy to know we have Hawaiian BBQ in Minnesota! The kalbi ribs were delicious and seasoned to perfection! The chicken katsu wasn't my favorite, it was a little dry and the sauce just tasted like ketchup to me - compared to other chicken katsu I've had. I loved the island teriyaki sauce though. The Mac salad was so delicious! I would come back and buy a gallon of that Mac salad! The guava nectar juice is one of my favorites to pair with Hawaiian BBQ. This location was a bit hard to find. There's a large parking lot with lots of parking available, walked into the attached bar, and was able to find Ono as a smaller restaurant inside the large bar. It's a bar so it was pretty loud. The kind gentleman at the counter was very helpful and polite. He gave me a number and brought my food to the table all securely packed up and ready to go.
google avatar

Polly L.

Yelp
My co-workers and I stopped at the North Loop Galley for the first time to grab a quick lunch, and we were not disappointed! There were multiple vendors to choose from and lots of open seating. I chose a poke bowl from Ono Hawaiian Plates, and it may have been the best poke bowl I've ever had in Minneapolis! I got a bowl with both Spicy and Marinated Tuna, and both had fresh and strong flavors. It was topped with seaweed salad, cucumber, and masago - all my favorite ingredients! What stood out about this bowl was the depth and authentic flavor of the poke marinades and sauces. It was perfectly balanced and spicy, which is hard to find at some of the other americanized poke bowl shops. I'll be back again soon!
google avatar

Michaela S.

Yelp
My favorite place in the Twin Cities! As someone who is from Hawaii, this place is the best. There's no other place that has food from home like this place. I highly recommend the surf and turf combo - kalbi and poke. Very yummy and hits all the spots. But anything on the menu is amazing. The staff is very nice and super helpful! I catered once from them and they were the best to work with. Located in a food hall and parking can be difficult sometimes. Try to avoid peak hours!
google avatar

Susie W.

Yelp
This place has the best Garlic shrimp plate in the twin cities! this is my go-to when I'm missing Hawaii and want a really garlic shrimp and rice bowl! This restaurant is in a food hall so they share the space with other restaurants which I love for a group setting because everyone can try out different things at different restaurants-so fun!
google avatar

Makenna S.

Yelp
I can't even explain how good this place was!! You get a big plate of food and such variety of sauces. The flavors were diverse and the textures of the foods were incredible-crunchy, soft, savory, and sweet. The service was so quick and so easy. It was a casual place in a great place to stop and get good quality, food and service very quickly!! My favorite part was the Katsu sauce, that is a must try!! Would absolutely go to this place again!!
google avatar

Pa V.

Yelp
The Aloha chicken tower sandwich combo (4/5 rating): this was fire- so much flavor and the texture was great! I definitely recommend it and wish I could get that sauce in a bottle! It's great as is but I think it would be even better spicy or with more kick. Katsu & Hawaiian BBQ Chicken Combo (3/5 rating): I didn't like either of the sauce options but the grill marks and flavor from the Hawaiian BBQ chicken was the star of the show for me and a 5/5. It was juicy and had that perfect char taste. The rice was a bit too soft and soggy for my preference. I was so excited to try Hawaiian max and cheese which was basically pasta salad which I love so I didn't mind- would have just liked more salt. Glad MN has some Hawaiian food options now. Location is inside a small food hall that can get kind of loud but ordering is very easy. Seems like it's just metered or paid parking slots/ramps in the area which isn't my favorite but could be nice for people who live nearby.
google avatar

Morgan H.

Yelp
Ordered delivery from Ono and the delivery itself was great. Really prompt delivery and I really appreciated how they packed all of the food. The food itself was solid. The Katsu was good but needed the sauce for sure. I saw a few other reviews about adding different types of sauce and I would recommend that for others. The pork was a bit salty for me, better paired with a bite of white rice. The fries were fine, but I don't think anything too special. Overall enjoyed this place and would try some of their other food for sure.
google avatar

Kevin C.

Yelp
Loco moco was a good, I do recommend it, not sure if they have fried rice as an option. Kalua pork was salty for me, had try many restaurants in HI, I don't think any of them are this salty. Garlic shrimp need to have more garlic flavor, it tastes more like grilled shrimp to me. I like the environment very much though, and the service is very good. I do recommend this place if you are looking for some good Hawaiian cuisine
google avatar

Benjamin S.

Yelp
Ono has great food for a great value. It's inside a food hall (North Loop Galley) which has a fun and lively atmosphere. Overall a great experience. I'll definitely either be ordering for delivery/to-go or dining in again soon! FOOD: great quality and quantity for a great price. I got the vegetable curry with chicken katsu. The vegetable curry was perfectly savory with a touch of sweetness. Really incredible flavor. I don't think I could come back without getting this again. PARKING: tough... I parked on the street but what can you expect. SERVICE: we ordered on our phones via the QR code and they brought it to us when it was ready. It was pretty quick and easy. AMBIANCE: I like the North Loop Galley. It was comfortable, social, and lively with a touch of upscale.
google avatar

Yelp
The go to place to hang out in downtown warehouse district Minneapolis. Plenty of food, bars to choose. The outdoor seating is really nice when the weather is behaving. We came here for OHP; craving for hamburger loco moco. Boy, I was not disappointed with the size, the taste and the service. My wife order chicken Katsu and island teriyaki chicken combo. Super good, the sauce for both chicken really compliment the overall taste of the meal.
google avatar

Shaji K.

Yelp
This restaurant is located inside a food hall - where you scan at the table to choose from various different eateries. Chose this spot after reading the solid reviews. Ordered the Poke Deuce Bowl ($19) - a bowl with Ahi tuna and Shoyu tuna over white rice, cucumber namasu, seaweed salad and tobiko. Fresh tasting ingredients fish topped by the strong tasting seaweed. The rice was able to handle all the ingredients together, and overall the dish is ready to eat. Would have preferred some hot sauce or chili sauce to the side. Service is quick as they were able to get the food or within 15 minutes. Pricey for lunch but a good option nonetheless.

Yelp
This review is long overdue! I remember waiting more than an hour in line a few years ago for one of Ono Hawaiian plate's pop up events. I'm so happy that they have a spot in the North Loop Galley food hall where I can enjoy their food on the regular! This has become one of my favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities! Ono Hawaiian plates serves authentic Hawaiian food with very large portions. Their service is always great, and I never have to wait long for my food to come out- whether i'm dining in, or ordering takeout. One of my favorite things to order is their luau bowl which has tuna poke, kalua pork, a side of mac salad, and white rice. I also recommend the kalbi, the chicken teriyaki, and of course the spam musubi!
google avatar

Ellie B.

Yelp
So delicious!!! I hadn't expected to find good Hawaiian food at a galley food hall in Minnesota, but I was happily surprised! A friend and I split the combo plate and got a spam musubi each. Everything tasted delicious, and servings were so large! We could easily have split this food with a third person, so it was super affordable. I would definitely return here for lunch or dinner!
google avatar

Hannah D.

Yelp
Great service from the start with the employees! Very friendly, and even helped us decide what we would order! I ordered the Hawaiian Fried Rice (+2eggs) and it was full of flavor, and perfectly fried and runny eggs to go with it! Worth checking out if you're in the North Loop Galley!
google avatar

Tuyen P.

Yelp
Located inside North Loop Galley. Ono Hawaiian plates is one of the few vendor stalls there. There were only 3 total at the time, one was closed. Discovered this Hawaiian place not so long ago and it's quite tasty. They have a bar in the middle of the dining area if you'd like a drink or 2. You order at the vendor and they will give you a number and will bring the food out later. Its somewhat a self service place. They have water bottles, cups, and plates in little carts throughout the dining area for you to get. After you're done, they have people come and clean your table. There are tables inside and also on the patio for nice summer days. Street metered parking since it is downtown. Food comes within 10-15 minutes so it's pretty fast. I think it's Taylor's towards work people for quick and fast lunch break maybe? While waiting for food I ordered a peach cocktail at the bar. It's a bar but they don't have every cocktail or ingredients to make everything you want. But it's not bad. Loco moco chicken katsu- I usually get just the plain chi ne katsu combo but go the loco moco version this time. The difference is, it comes with the sauce and fried eggs on top. Regular order is just chicken Katsu, macaroni salad and rice. Chicken is crispy and tender. Macaroni is good. Not sure if I'll get the loco moco version next time since nothing too special and it's 4-5$ extra. 4/5 Hurricane fries - it's basically just fries drizzle with 2-3 difference sauces. It's ok. For I think 7-8$ it's nothing special. 2/5 Chicken burger - the burger does come with fries! Same fries as hurricane minus the sauce. I would have been fine with this and didn't need to order extra fries. Chicken is spicy but not too spicy. Not sure if this is the place I'd come for chicken sandwich though. 3/5. Definitely come here to get their chicken katsu dishes. Don't come for fries and chicken sandwich since they're not really known for it. A great place for friends gathering since it's big and spacious. They other stand sells pizza, tacos and wings for those who doesn't want chicken katsu. Difference options for difference people :). Close to other restaurants and lots of people so it's lively at night time especially sitting on the patio.

Yelp
Definitively my favorite vendor in North Loop Galley! The OHP burger is my new favorite burger in the cities. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned with teriyaki flavors. The hurricane fries had sushi flavors with the toppings and it was such a good combination! The workers were nice and the food is delivered to your table. It came out within 10 minutes when it wasn't very busy inside. The seating area in the food hall is great to meet up with people. It's all shared between 5 vendors but there are plenty of tables. Will be back to try more menu items!
google avatar

Sean P.

Yelp
While there are plenty of other dishes on the menu that could very well change my mind, this trip was completely average. The Surf and Turf combo fell far short of expectations. The short rib itself was actually pretty decent, but the tuna's flavors fell flat. The sauce that accompanies the dish is a teriyaki, but tastes like any old teriyaki you might buy in the store. You might not leave your table disappointed, but you also might leave unimpressed.
google avatar

Moua Y.

Yelp
From Milwaukee to try this place out. The food was great. Flavors were spot on. Almost zero parking available. We order for take out, the only negative feedback I have to say is they didn't include utensils with my order so I ended up eating with my hands, other than this inconvenience, the food was still very good. 4/5 stars. I would come back again. Hopefully next to dine in.

Yelp
I understand that perhaps Minneapolis is not the closest to Hawaii. It's not even close to the Pacific Ocean. However when it comes to traditional Hawaiian plate meals, Ono is welcome Island oasis in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Hawaiian BBQ is my new West Coast go-to anytime I find myself in California. I was excited to see Ono amongst the food stalls at The Galley. I had the Katsu & Kalbi combo: here's the breakdown. Chicken Katsu: A generous portion of crispy fried chicken cut into manageable strips. It comes with a ketchup-like Katsu sauce that I really enjoyed. I usually don't like ketchup, it's too sweet. This sauce however was really zesty. Kalbi: I had recently had some pretty mediocre Kalbi recently in Florida. This restored my faith. The KBBQ-adjacent style short ribs were so flavorful from the grill that the flavors rubbed off onto the bed of white rice it was served on. Mac Salad: Very creamy, a perfect complement. The Galley in North Loop is full of winning establishments, Ono is must-try when you visit.
google avatar

Branden K.

Yelp
Delicious khalua pork, just like in Hawaii! The poke bowl had a crunchy salt on it that was a bit too much for our preference, so I'd stick with the other menu items next time. The service was so fast, we had our food a minute or two after ordering. It's in a dining hall experience setting so you can order from multiple restaurants here. They have board games, too which is nice.
google avatar

Michelle Y.

Yelp
Got a big takeout order 7 dishes) and there were more than enough for 2 meals feeding 10 people (7 adults and 3 kiddos)!! A must get would be the spam musubi, kalbi and their Japanese curry with katsu! My daughter loves their friend rice but they didn't have it today. Parking is very hard to find since it's street parking but it's worth it!
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
100% the spot for chicken !! Best crispiest bites and grill. No weird nasty bits. Would be nice to have some veggies in some way added to the plate. Big enough for two to share .
google avatar

Rachel R.

Yelp
My mouth went on a vacation to Hawaii November 4th. Fantastic flavor and quality. It doesn't seem pricey and I got enough for two meals. Whatever sauce is on the Hurricane fries would be tasty on literally any food. Way better than cheese sauce. And I love cheese sauce. It's in the North Loop, so there's an open dining room with four vendors and a full bar. But I don't know why you would want anything other than a Hawaiian plate lunch. Husband got the short ribs and ahi poke I got the shrimp, musubi and fries . We failed to feed the phone first because we wanted to tuck in! Aloha!

Yelp
If you've been to North Loop but haven't been to the North Loop Galley you're missing out. This is a great spot for food and drinks. The owners of Ono Hawaiian are so nice! We had to tell them how good the kalbi and shrimp plate was. The kbbq tasted like ones you'd eat in California. Great job on the flavor!! The poke bowl was great too. Really liked all the ingredients in it. I liked the spicy tuna and regular tuna option. The spicy tuna is spicy folks so if you can't handle the heat then get it without spicy tuna. Lol! The chicken katsu loco moco was also good. It was a crispy chicken with sunny side up egg and macaroni salad. Also comes with gravy I believe so this would be a great hangover meal! All the protein you need! You can also order drinks at the bar here. This is kid friendly and they have live music sometimes too. Thank you to Jess and the chefs for another great meal!

Yelp
overall good food! very fast service and nice people! loco moco was alright the rice was wayyy over cooked almost congee-like but maybe it was just todays batch. gravy was good but not the best i've tasted. we really enjoyed the teriyaki and chicken katsu dish though! both had amazing sauces and good texture/cook would recommend that over the loco moco. mac salad was delicious too. the hurricane fries were hot and crispy also really good!

Yelp
Ono is located in the North Loop Galley and has tons of options for Hawaiian dishes. It was super hard to decide on a plate because all the options sounded amazing. I finally went for the katsu and kalbi combo. The katsu was absolutely amazing and perfectly cooked. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the kalbi, but I think it was due to my person taste and not the quality of dish. Highly recommend if you are in the north loop and want to try some awesome Hawaiian dishes!

Yelp
Best poke I've had outside of Hawaii. The Kailua pork and Katsu chicken were delicious. Very friendly staff and excellent service as well. We will be back!

Yelp
Ordered the chicken katsu and fried rice. The katsu was fantastic while the fried rice was very good but a little greasy.

Yelp
This is one of my go-to dinner spots in the north loop at the galley! I usually get the regular Katsu plate but the tuna poke is also really good. Katsu curry is okay - there is a little too much curry for my taste / it's more of a heavy meal, but if you're starving, that might be a better choice. The Mac salad is my favorite side here - it's SO good and I usually get an extra side of it to take home and eat later for next day lunch. Service is great - super quick and efficient and the prices are solid for the large portions that you get.

Yelp
I love them. Can we start at love? Skip the getting to know you, dating phase and jump right to love. I love Ono Hawaiian. The food is tasty, the customer service is ALWAYS on point and they work HARD. Can't go wrong with a relationship like this! You're friendly, you feed me well, your nice to me and work hard to keep me? #issamarriage LOL Seriously, my first time stopping thru, I met the owner; she's very friendly and personable. The Chef was dope too and his food is good AND he knows it. Gotta love a confident man like that... and her brother works the money and his customer service game is ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS on point when I call or stop in to pick up my food. I order the SAME thing every time, if ain't broke don't fix it right? lol i order the Katsu Chicken and teriyaki ribeye or short rib (chile, idk.. i just know it isn't' the teriyaki chicken) combo. it comes with 2 sides... i'll keep it real, I'm not really a fan of their sides. It's just white rice and macaroni, which I find both to be bland, BUT.... somebody say "BUT!" But (i know improper way to start a sentence) they have this highly addicting Hawaiian fried rice, that you can replace the white rice with for a slight upcharge. DO IT! It got so bad for me that i just asked for a side of it, which i think is a pound of fried rice and I ENJOYED all of it alone and WILL NOT share. I first visited them on a Sunday and enjoyed my food tremendously, the Katsu chicken is crispy on the outside and tender and meaty on the inside (as it should) and the teriyaki meat is delicious. So I called on Monday to place my order for lunch, do you know they had the AUDACITY to be closed? LOL They're closed Monday & Tuesday and it hurt me deeply, because I had already jumped in with two feet into this relationship! By the time Wednesday came thru, i was excited to place my order and see my beloved fried rice, katsu chicken and teryaki combo again. When you try them out, don't start on a Sunday.... you're setting yourself up. Start on Wednesday!

Yelp
One place that I can't get enough of is Ono Hawaiian!! Delicious fresh food paired with fast & friendly service, they are the quadruple threat. The Katsu chicken loco moco was so good! The katsu chicken was still crispy even though it was smothered in gravy. Unfortunately, you can't mix and match protein with the loco moco, but the owner gave me a small sample of the kalua to add to my loco moco. The second dish I got was the surf and turf. The short ribs were beautifully cooked, with light char on it. And the poke was fresh and very well seasoned. Honestly, every time I finish eating here all I can think of is what the heck am I going to order next time? IG @ hweedafoodie for more reviews!!
