"“Light” and “fresh” are the words most often associated with the chopped fish bowls served here, but those who order their poke with K-Sauce are in for a wallop of heat. The thick red sauce is spicy and sweet with gochujang. The rice at the bottom of the bowl is necessary to keep the pain at bay." - Alice Levitt

Google
The apparent FIRST poke place in Houston. Went for a week night dinner with a friend. No one was there, so I was a bit hesitant. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Super fresh food and very fair pricing. I got the large (4 protein choices) with every add on imaginable. They even give sauces on the side for free if you want to try them out. $15 and plenty of food later, I would highly recommend this poke joint!

Google
Delicious delicious. Very fresh. I thought good value for ther money. The whole family was impressed. I'll definitely be back! Came back in May 2019. Friendly service. Good portions for the money (not huge). Spam musabi is delicious! Bathrooms were clean although the paper towel dispenser was broken. I'll definitely be back.

Google
I enjoyed this poke. It was fresh and everything tasted nice. It's great for a quick casual lunch. It felt satisfying without being mind blowing or extraordinary. I'll happily go back.

Google
I have nothing negative to say about this establishment. I only wish that there were more options in comparison to other pokey places that I enjoy frequently And that the protein Portion were slightly bigger. As a been at the presentation of the food is really nice and the quality of the food is great as well.

Google
If you are vegetarian, be prepared to overpay for your meal! My daughter really loves this place, however I was quite disappointed. The only option for a bowl is with three proteins, and the only protein they have that is vegetarian is tofu. So the price of $10.50 is priced for three different kinds of fish. However, if you are just getting one serving of tofh, you still have to pay $10:50 for a bowl of tofu with vegetables. Not fair!

Google
rustic, modern interior. fresh poke with a small yet reliable number of toppings. I like that you can order all that you want upfront and they'll put it together for you afterwards. the acai bowl has a rich ice cream texture. its contents are preselected (coconut flakes, granola, mango, and honey), but the flavor is smooth and (dare I say) deep. I would visit again. 😊

Google
Ono poke consistently delivers high quality fish and ingredients for the ultimate experience. It's located in a small building that's easy to miss but worth the search! Be sure to try their signature Citrus Wasabi with your mix-ins and enjoy. Best Poké in Houston.

Aly M

Google
Tasty and so so quick! Their spicy shoyu is so delicious! I love that you can make your own and you can also get half mixed greens and half rice. I got the spicy salmon. It was very good and pretty spicy. The staff is kind and is good with recommendations. The atmosphere is nice. Many places to sit and there was good music playing.

Yelp
Why 5 stars? Because this was an excellent poke bowl. --- --- --- I have had Ono Poke bookmarked for a long time, but admit, I didn't study the pictures much at all. I simply saw a 4.5 rating with about 800 reviews and determined that I needed to go to there. So I was a bit surprised at the lack of... anything remarkable about the building itself. It was small. It was non-descript. It wasn't really near any other businesses. And inside, the atmosphere was basically non-existent. There were two girls behind the counter who were just quietly sitting there, while 2-3 other patrons ate their bowls. But guess what? Their bowls are really awesome. So who cares about a lack of bells and whistles? I built my own bowl with poke, avocado, seaweed salad, white rice and some various fixins. It was one of the better poke bowls I've had in some time, They also had POG juice, which is my all-time favorite. The only gripe is that the wasabi came in a little packet, instead of just being a dollop, as I'm used to. The packet was slippery and impossible to open, so I just had to bite a small hole in it and feed it out like Play-Doh. Despite the wasabi incident, would I come back again? Absolutely. Good stuff is found here.

Yelp
I came across this business and it stuck out to me based on the reviews and photos on yelp. I was confused upon arrival, as I didn't know where to park my car or if I was able to park it in the lot by it. It had many "Car will be towed"signs but didn't say if Ono was part of that parking lot. But there wasn't anywhere else to park it aside from the street so I just took the risk and parked it in the lot. Coming into the building, the place was small and clean upon first inspection, but when I went to go sit down at one of the tables by the window, they were both dirty. So I sat by myself at a table for 6 or 8. The food honestly fell a little flat for me. They didn't add enough of the shoyu on the salmon so the flavor of salmon shot through, but it was quite fishy tasting. I tried to mix around the poke in order for some flavor to be there but there just wasn't. It was pretty plain. I requested less rice, but they gave me quite an amount, I guess in order to fill up the bowl, because there was hardly any protein in it. I got the medium with shrimp, salmon, and ahi tuna, and it was a fairly small portion of each. I ended up throwing away about 1/3 of the rice because that was all that was left. I left still hungry cause I wasn't about to just eat white rice to make myself feel full.

Lorraine I.

Yelp
The service here is a disaster The girl should be fired Literally sitting down there and talking on the phone So lazy to take care of the customers Food portion is tiny small And the flavor is just so flat The store was located in a very strange place A not ok neighborhood Although blocks away have so many nice houses And next to plenty of shut down businesses Store is big and spacious with no one in there How did u get so many good reviews?

Clynton M.

Yelp
Plenty of parking next to a closed bar. I was very surprised by their rating here on Yelp. I love Poke and I may have been spoiled with all the different Poke shops I've been to in my life (especially in CA, when Poke barely existed elsewhere years ago (except Hawaii of course)). I came in on a slow day. No line, very quiet. When I got home and opened my Poke, I was instantly disappointed. I attached a picture right after I mixed the dish because I was so hungry I had to put something in my stomach. But as you can see, it was very... lackluster. Overall, the dish just fell flat for me. I do question the freshness of the fish because when I walked in, it smelled... fishy. Yes you might say it's a Poke shop, but there's a difference between fresh and "old" fish. Never coming back.

Adam H.

Yelp
Really good poke bowl! Had both the spice tuna and salmon and both were great. Loved how they try to cater to the customer. we asked for ours to be spicy and they definitely gave it the kick. However, I would say the portion size was a bit small. This might have been a one off thing or due to me ordering salad as opposed to rice. Would be nice to see a full bowl next time. Overall it was great!

Naina S.

Yelp
5/5 I'm back in Houston after 2 years and the first meal I was craving was poke. The food scene is Houston is next level, a foodie's heaven. The poke here really hit the spot for lunch and if I didn't have so many places on my list to go to still, I would definitely go back. I highly recommend to anyone else in the mood for poke too. I got a normal build your own bowl with white/brown rice, spicy ahi, ahi tuna, and salmon. I attached a picture of my full order with the price as well if you're curious. The combination of the fresh fish and all the flavors was so excellent. You can tell their ingredients are quality and do not leave disappointed. You can place an order for pick up online (like I did) or order at the store. Their service was great and the indoor ambiance is nice and casual for a bite to eat.

Faiza Z.

Yelp
Took me a while to get around to trying poke and it didn't disappoint! Got the Spicy salmon and spicy ahi and did half and half with the rice and veggies. Great healthy option

Tiffany S.

Yelp
This is my go-to Poke place. My favorite is the truffle salmon (add crispy garlic and edamame). The protein portions are generous and they are made to order fast. The greens are always fresh too. You can dine in but most of their business is online and to go orders.

Kaitlin O.

Yelp
Pretty decent poke place! You get 3 different proteins with their regular size bowl and there's a lot of toppings to choose from. However, seaweed salad does cost extra which is unfortunate since it's one of my favorites. Both the salmon and ahi tuna were good and fresh. I would recommend this place if you're looking for poke in Montrose area!

Noelle M.

Yelp
Gosh, the poke here is really good but I have to post up on the review about the bad odor consistently at the Montrose location. They have a lot of awesome ingredients and choices and I've enjoyed a number of bowls from Ono, but the past two times I've tried to dine in, it's repulsive. Maybe it doesn't come up enough since lots of orders are through apps/to go, but it needs to be addressed. Hope things change so I can update in the future with good news and keep enjoying their food!

Tiffany M.

Yelp
This is some of the freshest poke I've ever had. I'm used to going to places like pokeworks but I could not find one in the area. I was a bit confused at first because I could not find the front door haha. The door is facing Richmond as you walk on the sidewalk. This place is a bit different as you don't look while you order, rather you order off of a menu at the register. If you are a visual poke orderer like myself this may be very different for you. I never remember what I get but I know it by it's looks lol. They were super accommodating to my food restrictions and followed my request to perfection. This is most definitely my new poke spot moving forward!

Jessie C.

Yelp
I LOVE Ono!! It's my go-to poke place. The fish is always fresh and the portions are big for the price. I like that you can do a mixed base of rice and greens, and all their specialty bowls slap. My favorite is the spicy sashimi bowl with added ginger and seaweed salad. Great healthy lunch spot (for dine-in or to-go!) that leaves me full and satisfied but never feeling sluggish!

Lorrie S.

Yelp
Fresh and yummy! Service is quick too. My favorite poke place. I don't live close but I will drive all the way to Ono Poke when I'm in the mood for poke.

Ritodhi C.

Yelp
Went back to Ono for the first time during the pandemic, and it didn't quite live up to my previous experiences. I got the large with 4 scoops of protein (salmon x 2, ahi tuna, shite shrimp) over mixed greens. Now that I've had the chance to explore more poke across Houston for comparison, I can say that in terms of quantity, Ono is probably average to mildly below-average, and it's actually fairly uncommon that they charge extra for crab salad and seaweed salad, though it still comes out to be roughly the same amount at $12-14 for a bowl. Not that anyone asked for my business advice, but I actually think it would be better psychologically from a customer perspective to raise the overall price of a bowl, while keeping these add-ons free. Echoing my previous complaint, I think the sauces at Ono tend toward the bitter side of the spectrum. I got the Classic Shoyu and Citrus Wasabi, and my bowl was sorely lacking sweetness for counter-balance. Perhaps the greens boosted the bitter profile as well to be fair. I also got Thai chili, which made the whole thing not just bitter, but spicy is well (more of a throat burn than a mouth-coating fieriness). In terms of fish, the salmon was nice, the tuna was OK but a little chewy, and the shrimp was too scarce to make a fair assessment. Ono Poke is still a solid option for lower-budget poke, but my most recent trip certainly wasn't as inspiring as those in the past. Maybe I need to try a different combo of sauces and "catches."

Rachel Y.

Yelp
Been going here for years and usually service is pretty good. Today, we went right before the rush of people who came in. We placed our order to go but somehow 2 groups of people got served their food before us. I go up to the counter and I can see my to go order rice bowls to the side forgotten. I ask about my order and tell them people who came after us got their order before us. Somehow they prioritized dine in orders before to go orders. We waited 25 minutes after ordering to get our food. Really disappointed in today's experience.

Danny Z.

Yelp
Best poke in Houston. Period. Lived close to this place for a year. The restaurant was always perfectly clean. Food - especially the protein was fresh and safe. I cannot say how much I love it. Been back to Houston since I moved 3 years ago 6 times. I visit ono every time.

William G.

Yelp
Food tastes good but its not worth the money imo. I ordered 4 scoops of poke which should have been $9 (according to the menu) but my total was $12.18 with taxes. A regular or large poke that comes WITH rice is the same price as ordering only the poke and no rice. They also ran out of yellowtail so I ended up getting salmon instead.

Dee W.

Yelp
Recommended by a friend and the poke bowl was delicious. I had the spicy salmon with extra ginger that set it off perfectly! Yeah, I'll return again very soon!

Josh D.

Yelp
Prices are ridiculous for the portion size. Scoops seem to be imported from Lilliput. Menu not updated. What a waste of money. Parking horrible. Service grumpy. Stay away

Jerry L.

Yelp
Good, solid poké with many house-made sauces, but the service made our visit special. I walked in for a to-go order on the evening of Labor Day, and asked about the ingredients of a sauce for my fiancé's meal as she deals with gluten, soy, and sesame intolerance. Mel not only helped with the sauce pairing, but even pointed out that another ingredient in the bowl would've triggered the intolerance and offered to remake the bowl with a replacement. The attention to detail and generosity floored me. We often find eating out a bit of an ordeal due to the intolerances, but we were well taken care of at Ono Poke!

Jenn T.

Yelp
some of the best poke i've ever had in houston! i can eat poke every single day and i used to eat it everyday in cali but ever since i've come here i haven't been able to eat my favorite food that much. this place by far has the best quality ingredients and a wide variety of options! there's set bowls or you can make your own! i added truffle to my poke bowl since i was craving it and the aroma was amazing. can't wait to come back!

Nina K.

Yelp
I've had a lot of poke in my life, and this place definitely ranks pretty high! They were out of masago when I went which was unfortunate because I like it, but the salmon I got was really good and so was the shoyu. The portion size for regular was perfect for me, and since I get practically the same poke bowl at every poke place, I can confidently say this was one of my favorites.

Natalie N.

Yelp
I just tried this place based on reviews and I thought it wasn't good at all. I unfortunately got it to go and when I got home, they left off sesame seeds, nori strips and garlic crisps. The taste was fine but really annoyed they left stuff off of my order and I had to pay $15 for it! Not worth it at all. Inside was blah and there was trash outside the front door. Also it says it takes Apple Pay on here but it does not! There are so many better poke places. Do not recommend.

Gina N.

Yelp
I came here after not having poke for a while, so I was so ready to just come in and just grab the perfect poke bowl. To my delight, they had yellowtail (which they only offer occasionally) so I ordered the Regular bowl with white rice, Salmon, Albacore, and Yellowtail, plus various toppings. I love yellowtail, so I went for a bite of that first... I've got to say, I was disappointed. Texture of the fish was off and it tasted slightly bitter. I don't know if the fish was old or wasn't chilled correctly, but it was not pleasant. Everything else was good, but the yellowtail was a huge let down. This is not the Ono Poke I know.

Tasfia A.

Yelp
Hands down best poke place in Houston. It's fresh, you get three types of protein (which is nice because some places I've been to restrict me to one unless I want to pay extra!), a wide variety of toppings, and the option to half-and-half your bowl with veggies and rice. I like the options available to me here! I ordered a bowl with half-and-half white rice and veggies, spicy ahi tuna, salmon, albacore tuna, spicy mayo, and basically all the toppings. The portions are generous and definitely hit the spot; a regular size was enough for me. Also, the service was wonderful. My food came quickly and the staff are really friendly! I will definitely, 100% return whenever I have a poke craving. Of course I'm on their rewards program now. I don't think I can go anywhere else for poke after trying this place out.

Sofia K.

Yelp
I really dislike having to drive on montrose since it's mostly potholes but decided to try this place with a friend. The entrance is on montrose which is a busy street so it's awkward and the parking is always difficult in this area... It's like most poke joints with similar menu, seating arrangements and decor with one difference. You have to order your poke bowl including whatever ingredients/toppings you want at the register. I don't like this since I much prefer choosing as it's built ala subway style. I also don't like that they serve you in the metal bowls they use to build your poke. So I don't think I'll return.

Christine R.

Yelp
I don't know why my poke which normally cost 10 something end up costing me 15 bucks for the poke. I know that I got avocado extra, cmon 15 bucks for Half Ass poke. Rip off.

Ann L.

Yelp
Yes for the hot cheetos flakes! Every poke place need this in their poke. Ono poke serves up pretty good poke. Small parking lot shared with other business. However, you can find additional parking around the neighborhood with a short walk to Ono. Just be careful of parking signs. It wasn't too busy at noon for a Saturday. However, the crowd started to build a few minutes later. The interior We went with the customize your own bowl. This poke place is different from the poke places I've been to. You order off the menu and tell them what you want at the register. Usually I'm used to going down the line and selecting what I want. I guess this process makes everything easier. A few minutes later, our poke was ready. Poke bowl comes in two sizes. Their fish was fresh. Plenty of toppings to choose from. Overall, one of the better poke options in town.

Alexsandra N.

Yelp
First time here. The inside was cute and small, but I found they had a little more seating outside. The menu has already made bowls to order, or you can customize your bowl with a good amount of options. I'm no poke expert so I chose some safe stuff like albacore tuna, avocado, unagi sauce, brown rice, lettuce, sesame seeds, cucumbers, and some kimchi on the side. I got the large, which means 4 scoops of fish instead of 3. I should have just stuck with 3, but I thought I could take it all. The bowl was a good size, and like I said, I couldn't finish it all. Friendly staff, clean, and fresh ingredients. I'll be back for more... and venture out a little next time.

Cindy L.

Yelp
The staff was super helpful and patient to us since it was our first time here. It's slightly different from other poke places that have a chipotle-style ordering system, but here you order all of your sides and proteins to pay and simply sit and wait for your bowl to be made. I got the small bowl with salmon, tuna, and shrimp. I added edamame, pineapple, ginger, sesame seeds, nori, cucumber and onions, with ono sauce and truffle oil drizzle (recommend). The avocado piece was given to me from my bf since he added it on his bowl haha. It was fresh, yummy and clean after we had greasy food earlier on the day. The wait for our food wasn't long, and plenty of tables to sit at. I really enjoyed the citrus infused water they had for us on the side. We would definitely come back again when we are in the area.

Jessie P.

Yelp
The poke (spelling?) bowls are amazing. The shrimp was so fresh. I loved everything about it. I super highly recommend!!!

Daniel M.

Yelp
Really good! I am not an expert on poke bowls, but this place really hits the spot. Only complaints are that rice should be room temperature, and a little more fish! I got a decent amount of fish my first trip but the second trip I barely had any fish in my bowl. That being said, I know this place is new so I hope they get everything worked out. Recommend! Update : haven't been here in a while and it's just as good as when I first had it. Ono Poke understands its a POKE bowl, not a RICE bowl like most places, filling up 7/8ths of the bowl with rice. Keep doing your thang Ono, no one can dethrone you.

Gin Y.

Yelp
In my opinion, the two most important things to make poke successful are the quality of the fish and the rice. The salmon was fresh enough and the condiments with it were flavorful. However, the brown rice was very hard (I don't think it was completely cooked). It was crunchy and chewy. It ruined the whole poke experience for me. I hope this visit was just a fluke, and other times the brown rice is cooked well. I'll give them another chance, since I really enjoyed their spicy salmon poke bowl the first time I ate it at 281 night market. Maybe next time I'll just succumb to ordering their white rice instead (maybe order half and half with greens to minimize the carb load. Lol. Other than the poke, parking is difficult. I ended up parking almost 2 blocks away on the cross streets of Stanford and Richmond. Their parking lot is too small during peak periods. Most people who live close by order take out. Jealous. Anyway, they also have a rewards program if you eat enough times here. I'm not sure what the reward is, but I'll try their food again to see if I like it the next time around.

Rachel S.

Yelp
This is my all-time favorite poke place, and I LOVE poke. The ingredients are always fresh, and bowls taste amazing. I always order the build your own bowl option with spicy mayo and ono sauce. Absolutely. Delicious. My favorite part is the crumbled hot cheetos add-on, which is hard to find at any other poke place in Houston. The servers are always very polite and helpful. Last time I visited, their menu had changed and the server I interacted with was great with helping me figure out my usual order. The bowl comes out quickly, and the take-out quantity is definitely the same amount as what they give you for dine-in. They give a substantial quantity of fish, and have a decent number of options compared to their competitors. The only downside is that the venue is rather small and difficult to access. You have to be careful when accessing this spot on Richmond because the sign is rather small and the parking lot comes up before you know it. The parking lot is also a bit cramped, so you may not always find a spot, especially at peak hours. They are located right next to an empty storefront, and there are not very many seating options (you'll likely have to share your table with other customers). Besides that, one of the best (if not THE best) poke places in Houston. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back! **Edit after visiting again: Delicious as always, and they gave me a complimentary mochi ice cream for my birthday! Thanks Ono :)

Mark N. T.

Yelp
I started checking Poke in Houston.I visited Ono Poke. - Location and parking. It is located in the Montrose area.Ono has parking spots.Just like other bars and restaurants in the Montrose area, it might be hard to find a parking spot. - It was clean and small restaurant. There was a patio. - I ordered Ono-poke.I got both tuna and salmon. It was awesome.Houston is very hot like Hawaii. Raw fish is fit in Houston's climate, -I bought Shiner beer at HEB.Poke is a cheap Hawaiian food.It goes well cheap beer.Poke is different with expensive Italian or French which go well with expensive wine. -Name.Ono(小野)is a Japanese name like " Yoko Ono(オノ・ヨーコ) I can't find why the name is Ono on the website. -Is Poke healthy? I went to Google.I found some website. https://www.mamamia.com.au/are-poke-bowls-healthy/ You need to go to google and check the Japanese food nutrition fact. You can create your healthy Poke. 50 years ago, Nori seaweed scared Americans. Finally, some of the non-Asians embraced Japanese food culture. However, do people really understand nori, hijiki, wakame, furikake and others? Maybe, I will have to learn how to use chopsticks from Americans next year.LOL. Although Texas food culture(BBQ and Taco) is different from Hawaii and Japanese(Fish).Hope more people in H-town enjoy Poke.

Yelp
Named perfectly on so many levels. Firstly, the place makes you spontaneously yell "Ono." Twice. Per meal. For example. When I saw the size of the portion I was like, "Ono." When I tasted it, I was like, "ONO!" Secondly, this restaurant is to Poke what Yoko Ono was to The Beatles. So, yeah. Perfectly named. This was my first Poke experience and it was disappointing. I should have known not to start my Poke journey in Midtown Houston. The portion is too small and the food just isn't particularly great. Don't get me wrong. It's okay. But nothing that I would want to come and spend 10 or $12 on especially considering it barely registered as a snack in terms of meal size. I'm definitely a size queen when it comes to poke. And other things. More of a size princess actually. Since then I've had delicious Poke at Tai Chi Buffalo and the place that just opened in Cinci (Poke Hut), and decent versions at CoreLife Buffalo and several others, and honestly each one has either been somewhat better or much better than Ono. Service is really nice though, and it's locally owned, so 3 stars works. In retrospect they should have named it "Poke Ono" instead of Ono Poke, because then it'd rhyme directly with Yoko Ono.

Tengo H.

Yelp
Build your own spicy salmon was just aight. Not much flavor offered in the way of marinade, and the the fish quality tasted a bit on the chemical side. Rice was gooey instead of sticky. The price was pretty steep for the size, and so I'd pass on a second try. Three stars to the patient cashier while I fumbled through the menu.

David N.

Yelp
I haven't really jumped on the poke train, since I'm not supposed to eat much seafood due to dietary restrictions. However, a friend had come into town and wanted to eat poke. I met my friend and wife up for dinner. There is a private lot next to it. It's small but at least there is one unlike many other places in the area. The bowl was delicious, I made my own and made it with brown rice and salmon. My favorite add ons was the mango and the avocado. The fish was so fresh and texture is nice. If you're not a raw fish person, you don't even notice it. All of the sauces were delicious. Overall, this was a great intro to poke.

Christina V.

Yelp
For about a month, I was coming here to eat or pick up food about 3 days a week! I was constantly craving it and I love all of their flavors. Now I go about once a week and my only reason for "cutting back" is because it's the holidays and I need to save my stomach for holiday eating! Ono and Seaside Poke are my top two favorite poke places in Houston so far! My only reason for going to Ono more frequently is because it is closer to where I run my errands so I can easily stop by and get food and drive back home to Cypress. Parking - they have a small parking lot next door, but read the signs during regular hours because the neighboring businesses have their reserved spots. There is also street parking if the lot is full. Service: amazing! Everyone is helpful and friendly and every time I am there, I am always greeted with smiles from the team. Food: delicious and fresh! I usually build my own bowl and everything is always so flavorful and they give you quite a bit of food! You order at the front and then they either call your name when your order is ready or they bring your bowl to you. It's kind of nice because then you're not waiting in a line or stuck behind someone who may be a "little" indecisive. A big perk is they have an outdoor patio and it is dog friendly! So this is a huge plus for us because we can go to the dog park and then come here afterwards. Give this place a try if you're in the Montrose area!

Yelp
Ono poke is located on Richmond going to the spur. Don't let the small parking lot deter you from trying out this place. Yesterday was the first time that I tried the poke from their brick and mortar location. I was a huge fan of them when they had their pop up shop on Westheimer probably almost two years ago. It's absolutely cute, no frills when you walk in. The people at the counter are very helpful with the food ordering. I ordered the ono poke bowl with a base of the greens. My dining companion got the salmon (also with the greens). I wish I would have gotten the rice because I was still kind of hungry after my meal. The ono poke was pretty amazing but it felt kinda pricey for the portion size compared to what I remember their portion size being when I first had it at their pop up restaurant. I asked for extra furikake as a topping for my order but I guess the person taking me order didn't note that since the bowl already comes with it. It wasn't listed as an extra on the list of extras that I had added. Taste wise, the food was good but nothing that I will pay that much for again. Also, the up charge for masago felt a little absurd because most places I get poke from usually have masago included. Full disclosure: I have only had poke on the west coast, and by those standards this is as close as you can get in Houston. I think this place can do a little better by having a slightly bigger portion size.

Yelp
Without a doubt, this is my favorite poke spot in Houston. I've visited countless times--both to eat in and take out--and Ono Poke consistently delivers fresh and delicious poke. The menu can be a little intimidating at first, but I love customizing my own bowl. Their salmon is amazing, and I love the option to get half rice and half salad! Makes me feel like I'm being a little healthy, right? The location is super convenient, right off 59 in the popular Montrose neighborhood, and the service is usually incredibly fast (as long as there's not too long of a wait in front of you). As a plus, everyone I've interacted with at Ono Poke have all been really friendly (and incredibly patient, as I list off all the ingredients I want in my customized bowl). I recommend this place to anyone craving a delicious bowl of poke in a kind and cute atmosphere!

Yelp
Stopped by here after working out in Downtown.... I do like - you can mix brown rice and greens - the portion of protein was enough with my base - fresh fish - they were pretty fast - plenty of masago I did not like - there was no hamachi on the menu - seaweed salad is extra - the parking lot if before the restaurant so I would think people (like me) tend to drive past it and have to drive back around to get to the parking lot. They are next to an vacant restaurant. Overall, would I come again? Probably not. The Houston poke scene is so saturated now that there are plenty of other options. I want my hamachi.

Yelp
The quality of Ono Poke has been pretty consistent throughout all my visits. My work place is a 1 minute drive from here, so I've been here pretty often! They have a limited indoor seating, but they do have a cute outdoor patio seating. The food here is always very tasty and flavorful. The fish here is always very fresh. I typically go for the salmon and tuna here. I really like the different sauces that they offer here. The Spicy Mayo and K-Sauce are my personal favorites. The best part is they offer unlimited toppings with no additional charge! Overall, I am very happy that this place opened up near my work place. I always have a dependable lunch option. The amount of food that they give you for the price isn't that great, but the quality definitely makes up for it!

Yelp
I guess this was my fault for trying to order an acai bowl at a poke place, but since it was on their menu, and I was craving it, I figured I would give it a shot. In the restaurant, there were a few small posters of what the acai bowl was supposed to look like with blueberries, granola, and some other fruit sprinkled on top. Let me tell you the bowl that they served me was NOT an acai bowl at all! As we watched them make it, the employees basically took out a frozen block of acai, dumped it in a bowl, without even bothering to thaw it out. They put one spoonful of granola, and the little pieces of mango and pineapple that are typically used for the poke bowls and squeezed some honey on top AND THAT WAS IT. It looked pretty disgusting and unappealing, and also FROZEN. I paid SEVEN dollars for this, and it was definitely not worth it by any means. They should definitely take this off their menu because it is clear that they do not know how to make an actual acai bowl. SMH.

Yelp
Best Poke in Houston! Everything is good and I've never had anything I didn't like. I always do the build your owl bowl. Wish they had a frequent buyers club. Everything is very fresh! Very friendly and helpful if you don't know what to put in your bowl.

Yelp
Best poke bowl I've ever had. I like that you can customize or pick one of their own bowls. The Patio was cute and made for a nice evening. The ingredients were super fresh and flavorful.

Yelp
I must have pass this place a hundred time and finally trying it out today. Parking is pretty scarce and inside is pretty limited. There is a small seating area outside. I thought that was pretty cute but for this Houston summer weather.... nope! There's 2 registers to order from and the menus are place by the counter. You have the option to build your own or choose from one of their preset bowls. Also have the option of the regular or large size bowls. The price difference isn't much. You can have add-ons which range from .50-$1.00 extra. We tried the ono poke and spicy salmon. I always appreciate places that have infused water out for you. So kudos to them for this! The food came out quickly and immediately I knew I liked the spicy salmon. The good thing though about the ono poke bowl is that you get tuna and salmon. There is a size difference between a regular and a large. Imo, the serving size here is pretty decent. They're not skippy that's that's a good thing. I would come back and try something else next time. And revise this review. I see a potential 5-stars here! Oh did I also mention the staff is super friendly!

Yelp
Locate in Montrose and there's a parking lot! Yay! The staffs are friendly. Indoor is nice and clean. There's outdoor seating as well. There are tons of regular tops (free). I got the large (4 scoops for $12) definitely a good price. The proteins tasted fresh (salmon, tuna, albacore & catch of the day). It's definitely one of my top poke place in Houston.

Yelp
I've had a lot of poke in my day, just a little something off about the fish, didn't taste as fresh as some poke places in Houston. Had the salmon, ahi Tina and imitation crab, I always like that consistency. Probably will not be back.
