I worked at Onward Neighborhood House (ONH) for about 2 yrs. as a Paraprofessional in the Head Start Program. The workplace culture at Onward Neighborhood House is a group of hardworking, dedicated staff that work together with management to provide meaningful learning opportunities for every child in the program everyday and ensure the day runs smoothly for all the children. I learned a lot at Onward Neighborhood House as the company is very supportive in encouraging every staff to higher education and in providing many educational tools and workshops. As with any job there are always pros and cons working with children, it is a demanding line of work, challenging at times but overall the pros always outweigh the cons. My most enjoyable part of my job at Onward Neighborhood House was participating in many of the company events that Onward Neighborhood House provides the community, families and children for example: health fairs, Food Pantry, educational opportunity for families and staff, Thanksgiving turkey giveaways and Christmas gift giveaways and many other events (too many to name). Unfortunately, I moved out of state but working at Onward Neighborhood House was fun, rewarding, great pay and a very Humbling experience.
