Dining at ONYX Restaurant Vienna, perched on the 6th floor at Stephansplatz, is a visual and culinary dialogue with the city itself. The uninterrupted view of St. Stephen’s Cathedral feels almost cinematic Vienna unfolding beneath you while the energy inside hums with purpose.
The space strikes a rare balance: vibrant yet cozy, elevated without pretense. The fiery robata grill and sushi counter create an interactive rhythm that mirrors the room’s pulse. Add the refined lounge beats, and the atmosphere becomes immersive measured, confident, and effortlessly cool.
The menu delivered with precision and personality.
The Avocado Asparagus Maki was clean and refreshing, lifted beautifully by yuzu mayo and shichimi pepper. Organic Chicken & Prawn Gyozas were delicately crisp, deeply savory. The Nigiri selection hamachi, ebi, eel, & avocado was balanced and well executed, while the Sliced Yellowtail Carpaccio stood out with its elegant citrus truffle dressing.
From the robata, the Sweet Corn with shiso and shichimi surprised with depth and warmth, and the Spicy Fillet of Beef was bold, tender, and unapologetically flavorful. The Lettuce Avocado Wasabi Salad, finished with carrot ginger dressing and pumpkin seed oil, offered a refreshing counterpoint clean, crisp, and thoughtful.
ONYX is not just about dining; it’s about tempo, texture, and perspective a place where Vienna’s historic soul meets contemporary confidence, both on the plate and beyond the glass.
