Service quality: The waitress who served my table — and who happened to be from my own country — was particularly disappointing in attitude and professionalism. • Birthday handling: Even when my friend arranged a surprise cake, staff didn’t acknowledge my birthday at all. Didn’t even say happy birthday! • Management: From my perspective, the manager did not handle service standards well, which reflected in the whole experience. • Overall impression: Amazing location and views wasted by unwelcoming service, overpriced food, and poor leadership.

A definite recommendation! This is an excellent spot for dinner. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and you'll love the stunning view of St. Stephen's.

I chose this restaurant, as expected, for the view — and the view is truly stunning. I didn’t expect anything exceptional in terms of the food; I just assumed it would be expensive because of the location. But I was genuinely surprised. The food was excellent. We had sushi for lunch, and the dessert afterward was absolutely delicious. Because of the view, the quality of the food, and the outstanding service, I would give this place 5 stars!

The host was kind of rode because we were going to only have drinks and side dishes “so you are not having full meal? You can’t seat by the window”. I understand if she can’t give us the best table but she made us feel not invited at all. FYI, the place was completely empty. Still, really nice view.

Nice place . View incredible . Loud music. Average food quality . Overpriced . Service not so friendly , they would like that you drink and eat in 1 hour to change table and new customers in . Not trained to serve the food of two guest in the simultaneously , every course one dish out the kitchen 4/5 minutes later than the one already at the table.

The sushi was fresh, the salmon tartare flavorful, and the cocktails perfectly crafted. Great ambiance and excellent service made for a wonderful evening. Highly recommend!

Had dinner at Onyx with my family — the view is absolutely stunning, probably the best in Vienna. The food was good, and the price felt fair for the location and experience. But the start was a mess. Even though we had a reservation made a month in advance, the hostess at the front desk was incredibly rude and tried to send us to a different restaurant upstairs. When we came back with our confirmation, she then tried to give us the worst table in the place, with no view at all. She was condescending and totally unhelpful. Thankfully, one of the managers stepped in. At first, he seemed a bit resistant too, but once he understood the situation, he was very professional and made sure we got one of the best tables with a great view. He handled it really well — a total 10/10 for him. Overall, the night turned out great, but only thanks to the manager. The hostess left a really bad impression, so just be prepared to speak up if something feels off.

The ambiance in this place is amazing - the view of the cathedral is breathtaking. However, the ambiance is all you are going for. The service was incredibly slow, despite the fact that the restaurant was not particularly full. The €18 glass of champagne served initially was completely flat with 0 bubble, so had to send back. The sushi was just fine, but nothing special.

Great place. Quality drinks and a view of the church up high that cannot be beat! Note: take the elevator near Zara up to the bar and enjoy your evening! It can get crowded on weekends so you might want to get their early

I travel to Vienna every year, at least once, and I always go to Onyx-Bar for the beautiful service, the beautiful view, the fine Hendricks on the rocks, and the perfect club sandwiches. If you are not getting the most professional service here, you are not tipping properly. It's a beautiful place, in the middle of the first district, with a great view and great drinks, so you need to tip well to get the service you expect. I have no problem giving the waiter 20 Euro for my first drink. All goes well. I LOVE this place.

This is another great bar to check out while in Vienna. It's is upscale however it's in a hotel so families sometimes bring children. We did not have to wait long for a table. It has a nice view or the central area of Vienna and the drinks were good. I would come here again to have a drink.

The view is okay, now amazing at all. The place is really pricey, especially considering that the drinks on the menu are pretty standard and not amazing at all.

Much too overpriced for the small drinks. You pay for the view, which is beautiful, but the food and drinks are not worth it. However, the service is exceptional and very classy.
