Onyx Restaurant

We went there on a Saturday late afternoon. We made reservations before so we got seated near the window with the beautiful view. The staff were friendly. Food was ok nothing memorable.

Went there for a date, very beautiful place with incredible view of Stephansdom with little balcony for cool photos. Food was very tasty but if you want to feel full you better order snack+main dish as dishes are not very big. Desserts are another theme, we had raspberry bonfire and chocolate surprise and these were one of the best we’ve ever tried. The only thing that disappointed was service, no one came to us during our dinner and we had to find a waiter ourselves to order desert (as you only reserve table for 1h 45min) in time. And of course, prices are quite high, €20-25 per main dish but the view pays it off.

Really nice view, it is too pricey. The service is really quick and the food is normal and good. When you try to book and see it's full, don't worry, there are tables available at lunchtime. It gets crowded only at night. I recommend it for the view only.

We enjoyed our meal at Onyx Restaurant; the food was delicious. However, we found it to be quite expensive, and the portions were small. Additionally, we would appreciate it if the staff could be more considerate of families with children. The waiter gave us a table near the smoking area, which was not ideal for us, but another waiter understood our situation and helped us move to a more suitable table.

We wanted to visit the rooftop restaurant, but upon entering the ground floor, we were met by an extremely unfriendly staff member. He informed us that if we planned to order a full meal, we could proceed, but if we just wanted coffee and desserts, this wasn’t the place for us. Later in the evening, my friend and I returned for dinner, hoping to enjoy the view of the cathedral. The man at the entrance was no longer there, but upstairs, the hostess informed us that reservations for the rooftop were required and had to be made well in advance. She could seat us, but not at a table with a great view since those required reservations. Nevertheless, since we were already there, we decided to stay. We were given menus and the waitress came to take our order after a couple of minutes. I asked for an additional three minutes, but then we were forgotten for 15 minutes until we called her ourselves. The food was quite mediocre, and the customer service was deserving of zero stars if that were possible. The moment you finish eating, your plates are whisked away and the check is presented immediately, making it clear that it's time for you to leave. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you're looking to be rushed and treated poorly.

My girlfriend and I had a lovely evening here on Valentine's Day. I had made a reservation and requested a table with a view, which they were happy to accommodate. However, when we arrived at the restaurant, we were seated at a table without a view. I reminded them of my reservation request, and they eventually moved us to a table by the window. For dessert, we had profiteroles, and I had a special Valentine's Day cocktail. My girlfriend had a delicious espresso martini. Overall, it was a great night despite the rocky start. The restaurant has a beautiful balcony with a door behind the bar that offers a great view of the church. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and I'm looking forward to trying their sushi next time. And we paid around 70€ for two deserts and two cocktails.

Great view in Vienna. I enjoyed the inside out salmon roll, rib eye tataki and pork belly. Do not recommend the fried shrimp, I thought it would be like bang bang shrimp in sauce and it was just friend with dipping sauces. They lose 1 star for service, not attentive at all. And 1 star for absolutely roasting inside the restaurant. It’s a hot day, in the 80s but how does a fine dining restaurant not have AC? So if you got dressed for a nice night out like I did and don’t feel like sweating profusely, it may not be the spot.

Book a reservation in advance! Great restaurant with views of the Cathedral. Servers are very attentive here. The food is delicious.

Great place. Quality drinks and a view of the church up high that cannot be beat! Note: take the elevator near Zara up to the bar and enjoy your evening! It can get crowded on weekends so you might want to get their early

I travel to Vienna every year, at least once, and I always go to Onyx-Bar for the beautiful service, the beautiful view, the fine Hendricks on the rocks, and the perfect club sandwiches. If you are not getting the most professional service here, you are not tipping properly. It's a beautiful place, in the middle of the first district, with a great view and great drinks, so you need to tip well to get the service you expect. I have no problem giving the waiter 20 Euro for my first drink. All goes well. I LOVE this place.

This is another great bar to check out while in Vienna. It's is upscale however it's in a hotel so families sometimes bring children. We did not have to wait long for a table. It has a nice view or the central area of Vienna and the drinks were good. I would come here again to have a drink.

The view is okay, now amazing at all. The place is really pricey, especially considering that the drinks on the menu are pretty standard and not amazing at all.

Much too overpriced for the small drinks. You pay for the view, which is beautiful, but the food and drinks are not worth it. However, the service is exceptional and very classy.
