Highly disappointed with the Insurance services from Ooba. I have been waiting for my claim to be resolved since Tuesday. I have been promised to be called back a multitude of time by the consultant, with no luck of a phone call. I always have to follow up and waste my time and energy on re-explaining the problem over and over.

I wish I could give zero stars. From start to finish, Ooba has demonstrated utter incompetence and complete disregard for a paying client. I lodged a claim on 8 September 2025. Since then, I have been trapped in an endless loop of inefficiency: No fewer than five different service providers were sent to “assess” the claim, each requiring my time and attention, with no progress or resolution. Melissa, the assigned representative, has repeatedly asked the same questions despite multiple clarifications, showing shockingly poor attention to detail. One service provider had the audacity to demand R3,500 upfront for a partial repair, ignoring the rest of the claim. Then another provider was sent immediately after, making any payment a waste. The delay caused by Ooba’s mishandling allowed minor damage (four tiles) to escalate into full bathroom damage, including walls, tiles, and cabinets. As if this wasn’t bad enough, Ooba emailed me to state that funds would be paid out on 30 September 2025. Now, due to management incompetence, the settlement has been further delayed while they chase missing details from service providers. This level of miscommunication and mismanagement is unacceptable and unprofessional. Ooba’s emails are filled with empty platitudes: “We value your support,” “Thank you for your patience,” “This claim is complex.” These phrases mean nothing when no action is taken and delays continue. In short, Ooba has: Shown extreme inefficiency Demonstrated complete lack of professionalism Created unnecessary stress and additional damage for the client I strongly advise anyone considering Ooba to think twice. Their handling of claims is chaotic, their representatives are incompetent, and their management is incapable of meeting basic promises!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am now escalating this to the Ombudsman for Short-Term Insurance (NFOSA). Let this be a warning to others: avoid Ooba unless you enjoy delays, stress, and being ignored.

I claimed for water damage because of the heavy storm with hail whereas water came in from the ceiling. I was told the water damage was caused because of negligence. How is that possible with a brand new house. Everything was up to scratch according to the city of tshwane as well as my bank(Fnb). I've tried calling, emailing them to only receive insults and rude feedback from the agents I've talked to.

DO NOT USE. Incompetent. Useless. Empty promises. What should have been a MINOR claim has now escalated into a FULL bathroom redo due to the damages. We are on week 4 with NO resolution. Every second day you have a new consultant that has no idea what they are doing. Escalating this to the Ombudsman!

Unfortunately, my experience with ooba insurance was disappointing. After signing a contract with them my first claim after +/- 12 months the claim was to do with a 2 geyser. Faults were as follow 1. Serivce provider came after 3 to 4 days 2. Geysers had to be replaced service provider left around 21:00, had to waint until 23:00 to close taps and switch off the geyser. Inthe morning there was no hot water 3. Electricians came to sort power supply issue and they were very good (i suspect this was the main issue) 4. There was pipe burst on the new instalation. We lost lost of water and they said it was my wifes responsibility to close municipal supply 4. There water leak again between bath and geyser on Wednesday same week. they promised to come Saturday. On Saturday when following up with the office i was told that they are fully booter they will try to come in the afternoon. Meaning we will continue loosing water. We are still without hot water Emails from the service provider were also unfriendly i understand i did not sign any agreement with them. Worst service after 8 years of being a loyal customer, 2+ months of constantly following up and no feedback at all on a submitted claim to be mailed one Sunday and be told your policy is cancelled, no reason at all I had to phone to ask and then met with rude call agents and even managers. They still had the audacity to debit my account a month later after the cancellation date they instituted, stay away from!

Put a claim in early December 2024. To date, numerous emails and complaints and nothing but empty promises. Avoid at all costs and save yourself from the 7th circle of hell also known as Ooba insurance.

The best insurer to acquiring stress, high blood, diabetes. Word of advise, never ever go with them rather consider insuring with the ba k that financed your bound. A simple claim can take up to 3 months
