New Restaurants and Bars That Have Opened in San Diego | Eater San Diego

"An offshoot of North Park’s the Nood Bar, this Pan-Asian spot compiles hits from across Asia—Hainanese chicken rice, fresh salad rolls, Szechuan wontons stuffed with shrimp or chicken—and a wide noodle lineup including miso ramen, laksa, yakisoba, mi goreng, and pad Thai. It also offers fun beverages and desserts like red guava iced tea, strawberry ramune, and mango or coconut ice cream." - Candice Woo

Google
Whaaaat?!!! This place is crazy good! The food, decor, service, yes! Finally an awesome restaurant in the area. The food was delicious, clean tasting, savory. Definitely coming back! Thank you Oodle Nood Bar!

Google
My coworkers have been trying to get me to try Oodles for months and I was hesitant because it's hard to master so many Asian cuisines on one menu. But then when I saw laksa on the menu l was sold. I can report that it was delicious and everyone else's food on the table looked great. The service is quick and the staff are friendly to ensure we could treat our coworkers birthday lunch and get back to the office in good time.

Google
Just had lunch there for the first time. My son and I ordered Dan Dan noodles and Latksa curry noodles. Both are delicious. The owner and waitress are very attentive and nice. A little hidden gem in La Mesa . We will definitely go back .

Google
I really enjoyed this place. I was a solo diner and they were really quick to serve me and the food came out really good. I got the udon dish and also their spicy wonton. They’ve got a really good kick with the spice. And I thought the noodles were so great and everything was very flavorful.

Google
This was my first visit to Oodles. The dining area was very nice, cozy, great atmosphere. The staff were super helpful, polite, and helpful with suggestions. I placed an order to go. I ordered buttered garlic noodles, steamed dumplings, and avocado cream cheese wontons. Food was great! I will definitely make this one of my regular places to visit. Thank you for a great dinner.

Google
Nice, clean and friendly spot in a smaller retail strip. A fairly decent range of choices and everything was supper fresh. Spice ratings go 1-5. I’m a 0; my sister is a 6. She still added more hot chili paste to her vegetarian entree (sorry - I forget what she had). I had the Garlic Noodles and they were FANTASTIC. The pork was amazingly tender and delicious. The portions were enormous and I had it for lunch the next day! Try it out. I know I’m going back!

Google
This place is super clean and their recipes reflect that. When it gets busy you need to order from the counter and then get your food at the table but it is very good. Mid-range prices are reasonable for couples. Not really a place I would bring toddlers or babies. Perfect for a first date. It's casual and not pretentious. I liked it. It was my first time eating Asian noodles. I liked it. Very nicely presented. I'll be back.

Yelp
The food is always super tasty and fresh when you come in. The service is always good and personable; they recognized us after only 2 or 3 visits. Sometimes there is a wait, but always worth it.

Yelp
We ordered the Yakisoba, Oodles Fried Rice, Crispy Spring Rolls, Garlic Fried Chicken Wings, Dumpling Soup, and Wonton Soup. First, I ordered using the restaurant's online ordering system, and it said it would be ready in 30 minutes. When we arrived, it was ready to go. The order was accurate and we got all our food. The Yakisoba and Fried Rice were delicious and were well-balanced between veggies, noodles/rice, and meat. The Crispy Spring Rolls were nicely fried and not greasy. The Garlic Fried Chicken Wings were overly salty. We had to brush off chunks of salt. Would not get again. The soups were good, but the veggies, wontons, and meat were a little sparse. Overall, I would buy from them again, but skip the wings and soups.

Yelp
Always loved Nood Bar in North Park but they're too far for Doordash to reach from Eastlake. So glad they opened up Oodles in La Mesa so we can still get our fix of high quality noodles and Asian dishes. Our faves include the Laksa Curry Noodles and Char Kway Teow that's reminiscent of Singapore, that has just the right amount of heat and tons of meat and veggies in it, super flavorful Hong Kong Noodle Soup, the Dan Dan Noodles, OG Fried Rice with tons of Chinese Sausage and Onions. Really can't go wrong at this place and so glad they're providing access to us down south and out east.

Yelp
Really nice spot if you're looking for a price that is open late and has good food! The food came out really fast and my favorite dish I had was the noodles! The workers there were nice and checked up on us pretty frequently.

Yelp
Hidden gem in La Mesa! Great food, excellent service, and very clean. Convenient location. A must try!

Yelp
Came here with my fiancé for some yummy noodles! We've been meaning to try this place for the past couple months. We tried the Szechuan Spicy Chicken Wontons, Mi Goreng noodles, and the sweet chili fried rice with chicken. I'll start off by saying I was not a fan of the spicy wontons, I felt like the sauce had kind of a vinegar taste that I found unpleasant and wasn't spicy at all. My absolute favorite thing was the sweet chili fried rice however and the noodles were pretty darn tasty too! The service was amazing, it was very fast and friendly and while it's a small space; it gets full quickly! I think we'll definitely be back and we'll just aim to try some other dishes!

Yelp
Ordered Iced Thai Tea and Iced Thai Coffee. My brother ordered some soup to eat (not sure what it was, but smelled incredible)! The Thai tea had the perfect amount of ice so you get a lot of tea! I was thinking, it couldn't be that different than what I make...but I was proven wrong! Creamy, strong, not too sweet, and it tasted reminiscent of soy milk! I LOVE soy milk & I'm not sure if they use it in their Thai tea-- but if they did, hats off! So good! The Thai coffee had beautiful layering although once mixed it was super strong. A bit like Vietnamese coffee but not as thick, this one was on the "thin" side. My brother enjoyed it! Overall, the drinks were great and filled to the brim. They were made very well, and I can only assume that the food is the same. Next time I'm in the area, I'll stop in to try.

Yelp
Visited 2/19/2025 Well yesterday I decided to sample Oodles by the Nude Bar in La Mesa. https://oodlesbythenoodbar.com/ I had heard the dishes were Fresh and Tasty so it was time to give It a try and cross it off my list. First it's a nice clean little restaurant with a fair amount of seating in a small strip mall. The staff were friendly with a smile and eager to answer all my questions. The Menu was simple but generous with tasty options to order and the food is as fresh as possible for a restaurant.. Service was fast and they have a great takeout business. Now as what I decided to try as a first timer. It was suggested to me to try a few of their most popular plates. I wasn't hungry enough to try all I wanted to so I picked two from the menu for this visit. First The Spicy Szechuan Shrimp Wantons 6 pcs. $10.99 Very tasty, Great Flavor but not so spicy at all. Be sure to ask for The Spice Condiment Tray with Great Chili Oil. Saved the day with added Heat. I enjoyed this dish. They say my next choice is their biggest seller The Chef Selection . Mi Goreng. $18.99 A great combination of proteins and noodles in a flavorful sauce. Nice large serving with some to take home for later. All in All a good Experience and I'll be back to sample more of the menu picks. Worth A Visit when your in or around La Mesa. Check out the menu and, Enjoy My Friends.

Yelp
Quaint and cozy restaurant. Tanya was our server; everyone's server for lunch service and she was wonderful. It's definitely a full service experience; so if you're popping in during lunch hour; be prepared to have time so you don't have to take your food Togo. The food quality was exceptional. Flavors were wonderful. Would definitely come back for dinner service and drinks with more time on our schedule so we're not rushing back to work. YUMMY!

Yelp
Cute interior with good food. Plenty of parking in a shared lot. We got Hainanese chicken over rice, garlic salt & pepper wings, spicy Szechuan chicken wontons, Bamee Pok Pok, and garlic butter noodles with pork shoulder. Everything was delicious. Service was quick and very friendly. I'm not in this area often but when I have work nearby again I'll definitely bring some food home from here.

Yelp
Every single time we've been here, we enjoy the food. The service is great as well. Every single time!

Yelp
Everything noodles from all over Asia. Except, no pho. Mainly Thai and Chinese food. We ordered: -Spicy Szechuan chicken wontons: You could tell these were made fresh on the spot and frozen. Great size and spicy sauce. -Fried chicken wings dirty flavor: 6 wings were evenly fried and had a dry rub. -Dan Dan Noodles: Typical Dan Dan dish has the numbing spice but not these. It does have the peanut nutty sauce with ground pork and many slices of cha shu pork belly. -Laksa curry noodle soup: This is a Malaysian dish that I don't see often. It has coconut milk, lots of chicken and shrimp. It reminds me of Vietnamese curry. -Hainanese chicken over rice: Every time I see this dish, I would order it. It's all in the sauce and I would have to say I was disappointed because it wasn't the ginger scallion sauce. They use ginger garlic soy sauce. The steamed slices of chicken breast were really dry. Least favorite dish of all. We ordered leave 3 spice for the dishes and wasn't spicy. Only the spicy wonton had a tiny kick. This place serves alcohol and has beer on tap as well Thai beer and non alcoholic drinks. Looking forward to coming back to try other noodle dishes. I also loved that the prices are reasonable for the portions that you get.

Yelp
I love noodles and I love what Noodbar had to offer in their other locations. So why not try this one? I ordered a spicy oil wonton with shrimp for starter and it did not disappoint. I can see why its a crowd fav for appetizer. I moved on to the meegoreng and was very pleasantly surprised to savor the flavors through all the ingredients they added. Super fantastic if you have a noodle craving. There are so many other noodle options I plan to try down the line!

Yelp
My recent visit to Noodles by the Oodles By The Noodbar bar was a great one. The customer service was great. It was very clean and the seating provided was comfortable. Make sure to come with an appetite because they don't mess around when it comes to portion size. I ordered the Pad See Ew, Thai Tea, and Garlic & Pepper wings. Everything was delicious. The wings were crunchy and hot , the thai was delicious although a bit sugary for my liking. The Pad See Ew was delicious as well. My only suggestion is to watch out when it comes to spice level. Will definitely be returning for more. Thank you!

Yelp
I really enjoyed Oodles! It's been on my friend and I's to try list and when we finally got around to it, we did not leave disappointed. Great prices for some good food! I also think this place gives La Mesa some more variety! It's located in a shopping center right by Helix High School. Parking isn't rhe greatest but it could be so much worse. They share a parking lot with a couple of other businesses, but I was able to find parking. I will say though, the spots aren't exactly big car friendly. The restaurant itself was cute and clean. They had a pretty good amount of seating as well. Service was good. Nothing bad, nothing extraordinary. The staff was hustling and getting their jobs done. Staff was friendly, very attentive and did a good job at answering our questions. I really had no issues with service. Food was pretty good as well. My friend and I had the garlic chicken wings for an appetizer. They came out fresh and hot that we burnt our finger (in a good way, knowing they just made it). I do think there could have been just a tad bit more of a garlic taste to it. I had the spicy miso ramen and the portion in my opinion, was huge. The spice was just right. The pork belly was a little overcooked in my opinion but still good. My friend had the Laksa Curry Noodles and that portion was huge too. She said the spice was yummy and the amount of veggies made her happy. I definitely say give this place a shot. I think they may have another location in Hillcrest or North Park. Nothing was disappointing and there was so much more on the menu that I want to try.

Yelp
Absolutely the best. Everyone so nice greeted us right when we walked in. Can't say enough how great the food was. Definitely going back!

Yelp
Recently tried this Thairestaurant in LaMesa and loved it. It's a very nice looking restaurant. The food was great and the staff friendly. We ordered takeout and had the spicy chicken won ton, garlic wings and basil fried rice with Shrimp and of course Thai Iced Tea. The basil fried rice was outstanding. The chicken wings were great. I found the chicken won tons overdressed in chili onion crisps and oil and a very small portion of about 4 pieces. The Thai Iced Tea was very good. Overall I enjoyed the meal and will definitely try them again. I want yo eat in next time.

Yelp
Good Asian food in La Mesa ?? Yes! Came here by accident and we are so glad. Cute little place. Friendly staff. Great food. Best potstickers I've had in a restaurant in so long. Will be coming again

Yelp
This restaurant has been on my list to try and finally made it last night to kick off a birthday weekend. We ordered mango tea and mango sticky rice beer. We both loved the tea. The mango sticky rice beer was just ok. I didn't get the flavors until the beer was actually more at room temp. For appetizer we had Szechuan Spicy Chicken Wonton ( 6 pcs ) $7.99. So delicious. I could probably eat 3 servings of this as main course lol! For entrees we ordered: Special of the month TRIO PORK OVER RICE Honey Glazed Pork Char Siu, Crispy Pork Belly, Chinese Sausage, Soft Boiled Egg, Sliced Cucumber, Jasmine Rice, Pork Char Siu Gravy $16.99 HAINANESE CHICKEN OVER RICE Steamed Seasoned Chicken Breast, Garlic and ginger Rice, Sliced Cucumber, Spicy Ginger Garlic Soy Dipping Sauce $15.99 HONG KONG STYLE NOODLE SOUP Egg Noodles, Slow Cooked Pork Belly Char siu, Bok Choy, Green Onion, Fried Garlic Oil $14.99 FLY ME TO THE MOON ( Offered Dine in only) MANGO ICE CREAM, COCONUT SWEET RICE INFUSED WITH BUTTERFLY PEA FLOWERS, WARM COCONUT CREAM, CRUSHED PEANUT. (Our signature dessert create dish by The Nood Bar) $8.99 Everything was delicious. The standouts are the crispy pork belly, the ginger and garlic rice from the Hainanese entree, Pork Belly Char Siu from the Hong Kong Style Noodle Soup and the fly me to the moon dessert was unique. The sticky rice with crushed peanut was different in a good way. I have never had sticky rice infused with butterfly pea flowers. The taste and scent it adds is mild but pleasant. The most standout from this restaurant is the service. Impeccable service. There were maybe 9 tables some 2-4 some, but the guys made you feel like you were the only one dining. These 2 guys had such a great symphonic rhythm and worked in unison not skipping a beat. Definitely a busy place. The tables were not empty for long. And the lines of people coming in and out to pick up orders were nonstop. Great pan Asian cuisine and can satisfy any cravings you have, so stop thinking about it and just stop by. I do recommend going through their menu online first https://www.oodlesasianeatery.com/menus. The photos are helpful.

Yelp
We the loved the ramen. We ordered it for delivery and it arrived intact and temperate. This is not always the case soups many place use inferior containers.

Yelp
A hidden gem in La Mesa. They have a diverse selection of Asian dishes with plenty of options to suit any palate. I tried the Panang curry and the gochujang udon noodles. Both were packed with flavor and paired really well with each other. The staff were all super nice and helpful. The place is very clean and comfortable inside. I'll definitely be coming back to try much more of the menu.

Juan G.

Yelp
The food was flavorful! From the appetizers, to the entrees and to the dessert! The music of this restaurant is so calming and isn't loud. The staff is beyond helpful. Service was quick. Food didn't take more than 10 minutes. Would highly recommend coming here.
google avatar

Aphrodaisy L.

Yelp
Great service. The food was delicious and the portion was very filling. I just wish that they would have let me substitute the noodles on the Bamee Pok Pok. I don't like egg noodles and asked if I could substitute. Server said all chef selection dishes are As Is. If I could have substituted soba noodles or rice it would have made the dish a 9.5 for me. With the egg noodles it was a solid 6 for me.

Graham J.

Yelp
The food here is excellent! The staff was also super welcoming considering our 1 and a half year old was happily bouncing off the walls while we were there. Great overall experience.
google avatar

Yelp
The end of the work year is full of food and laughter, and I'm fortunate to get a few bucks from my work to expense some food from time to time for virtual team gatherings. Oodles has been on my radar and this week was my first time trying their excellence. How was it? Fantastic! The beauty of this place to me comes in the form of great selection, friendly staff, a very clean restaurant, and reasonable prices. If you're planning a dinner with someone and you can't decide on a particular cuisine, Oodles fills that void with selections from all over Asia, not just one particular region to satisfy everyone. Give it a shot, you'll love it!
google avatar

Yelp
On our family trip to SoCal we were craving some good noods and glad we found this little spot! There's a few tables for dine in but they also do take out as well. Their Thai tea tasted authentic and not like it was made with powder like some other places. We tried the laksa noodle soup, spicy miso ramen, Hong Kong style noodle soup, dirty wings, fried spring rolls, and drunken noodles-- level 3 spicy. Everything was delicious and flavorful. The portion size was good, and definitely worth it. The only thing I felt wasn't work it was the spring rolls. It was 4 little rolls for $8.99. Nothing really special about it. The staff was super friendly and attentive! I think we came right before their lunch break so they weren't rushing us but we could feel they needed to close up for break. My only big complaint was how hot it gets in there. They definitely need like another fan or something, I was sweating just sitting in the booth haha.
google avatar

Leslie C.

Yelp
the only reason i'm not giving 5 stars is because it was pretty warm inside and there are no outdoor tables. Service was very good. We ordered the house salad with chicken and the stir fried ginger tofu. The salad was generous, fresh and the peanut dressing was plentiful and tasty. The chicken was well marinated and tender. The ginger stir fry was good as well. Will definitely be back, but on a cooler day.

Yelp
We are new residents of La Mesa area and we've been struggling to find good Chinese food. That was until we found oodles. Imagine all your favorite East Asian dishes all in one place...well imagine no more because at oodles that's what they offer. From pad Thai to laksa. And green curry to char chu pork they have a mix of Chinese, Thai, and Malay fusion food. Staff are super friendly and the ambience is great whether it's date night or taking co workers out for dinner. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I have driven this location two visits. The first visit was a to go order. -pad Thai (almost no flavor). I ate a few bites and unfortunately couldn't continue eating it and trashed it. I feel this dish is the easiest to make but sadly not all locations make it well. There was a bit too much bean sprouts for me. Squeezing the lime did not help. -wonton soup. This was for my boyfriend. He said it was good. -an iced tea (forgot the floor) but that was my favorite item and at least it was good so I was not upset my pad Thai was not the greatest. I came back recently for a dine in experience and again maybe the last time, my pad Thai just wasn't made well that day. I had to get the tea again which I loved. 10/10 on that. My cousin got the chicken hainan dish that came with small broth. She said she liked it and it was good. I of course tried it and honestly it was very plain and lacked flavor to me as well. It wasn't anything special. (After we left, she said she didn't like it as it was bland and she's had better elsewhere-she just was trying to like it inside the restaurant lol). My boyfriend ordered this noodle dish called joreng noodles I believe. He said it was mediocre. Honestly it looked like the instant noodles packs I have at home from the Asian market. I tried it and was not impressed either. My dish this time was prob the best item of the table. It was the spicy noodle soup that is curry based (drawing a blank on the name atm). But still it wasn't something that made me say I'm coming back here. It was spicy and I ended up sharing with my boyfriend. The curry broth was good with the hint of coconut milk. The interior is very clean and modern looking and there's plenty of parking. However, the meals don't wow me. I will not be returning unless I come to get an iced tea only.

Yelp
This was the first time my husband, nephew and myself had dined at "Oodles". We arrived on a Friday night just before 7 and knew this was probably going to be an enjoyable experience because the arouma of garlic and spices hit us from the parking lot. We were welcomed with warm smiles and seated immediately at the last available table. This little restaurant with a modern American Asian flare was filled with many smiling patrons, all enjoying their meals. AJ was our server and he was on point with answering all our menu questions and making suggestions based on our individual preferences. We started with the fried Garlic Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings served with a side of sweet chile sauce, didn't get a picture because the guys dug in before I got my camera out... yummy! Our 3 entrees are pictured below. My husband and I ordered our entrées spicy (level 3) and the nephew (ordered his "no spice"). Served piping hot, with fresh ingredients, all 3 entrées were absolutely delicious! Spice level 3 was pretty spicy, but even though our lips were burning we gobbled up our dinners while sipping on the cooling Thai Iced Tea... so good!!! AJ checked in on us often and when we told him we will definitely be back, he made personal suggestions of what dishes we might try on our return. Really Great Dining Experience and highly recommended.

Yelp
Stayed with a friend and this place was just down the street. We are pretty picky about our Thai food that we get back home, but this place did not disappoint! We took the food for take out and it was ready when they said it would be, no wait time and the food was still nice and hot when we got it home. The restaurant is small, but cute! Definitely recommend giving this place a try!

Yelp
Amazing food. Terrific variety and great flavors. Good quality proteins. The nicest wait staff. So friendly and helpful. Small restaurant space, but that makes it more personal.

Yelp
Omg this place is freakin amazing. Every dish was so delicious and unique i don't even know where to start. Everything is great and it really depends on what you're craving. Amazingly nothing was super heavy either despite being a noodle place because the flavors were so balanced and nothing was overpowering. And it seems like all their sauces are homemade and actually make every dish's flavor change a little. It's really an adventurous place to try :) The drinks were not too sweet but still delicious. You can taste the quality tea they use. Usually asian tea drinks use too much artificial flavoring but these hit the spot. The jungle noodles are very fragrant herbal because of the basil and bay leaf, the flavors here are stronger than the others I tried. Really delicious and pairs well with the sauces they offered. The char kuay teaw noodles was like chow fun and drunken noodles had a beautiful baby so so flavorful and the large flat rice noodles yummy and chewy. The rad nah noodles are very comforting and had the mildest flavors that really brighten up with the vinegar sauce. I loved the perfectly cooked gai lan veggies. Finally my absolute fave were the sab yum noodle soup. If you're a fish sauce fan this is a must try. The broth was so rich and balanced, with the fish sauce bringing the whole dish together. The toppings are also excellent! I want to try the pork belly dishes because of that. The dessert, fly me to the moon, is a must try. Their mango ice cream is creamy and not too artificial tasting, which pairs so well with the hot sticky rice. As a southeast asian this tasted just like home! Overall 100/10 I am definitely coming back to try other things and highly recommend. The staff are very nice and helpful and truly no complaints!

Yelp
Even on a Friday night, the staff was calm and welcoming! It was any first time visiting, and the man up front kindly let me know that he could answer any questions I might have. I ordered the Mi Goreng and the Panang Curry to go, along with a Thai tea. Mi Goreng- it came with a generous amount of meat (pork, chicken, and shrimp) and veggies (cilantro, onions, carrots, cabbage, and broccoli). The noodles were cooked well and they allowed me to choose a spice level 1-5. I really liked this dish, and the spice level was true to what I requested. Thai tea- OMG. They make their Thai tea very strong here, just how I like it. It has a nice, earthy taste, and it was not overpoweringly sweet. I thought it was just right. Panang curry- they said that the spiciness for this dish starts at a 5. We requested tofu for the protein. The curry was thick and came with a hefty amount of veggies (carrots and bell peppers). We enjoyed this one as well. The spiciness did not overpower the flavors of the curry.

Yelp
This place is good. The pot stickers perfectly crunchy and crispy. The cream cheese avocado wontons were just as crispy and delicious. So so good. The goichujang noodles perfectly seasoned and spicy. Loved them. Garlic butter noodles so garlicky and buttery. So delicious and not overcooked at all. The drunken noodles were just as good as the other dishes. We love nood bar so this is a great addition. Parking is pretty easy at this location as well. Service and ambiance spot on as well. Nice neighborhood and location. I'll be back for sure. Thoroughly enjoyed this meal

Yelp
Food 5/5 - Food is always amazing here!! I've tried their yellow curry, panang curry, pad Thai, pad see ew, wonton soup, prik king crispy pork belly, cheese wonton, and lay me down (fried shrimp). Everything is delicious here but what keeps us coming back are the noodles - yum! Service 3/5 - we've done carry out (usually fast) and dine in which has been a hit or miss. Last time we went, our server seemed like the last thing he wanted to do was be there, which made the experience uncomfortable for us. Ambiance 4/5 - casual place with some cute decor
google avatar

Crystal M.

Yelp
The restaurant is very clean. The ladies who took our order & brought our food out were very nice and friendly. The food presentation was good looking as well and the udon noodles I had were really tasty! The only reason I gave 4/5 is because the wontons we ordered did have a sour smell and taste that wasn't pleasant. I'm not sure if that was how it was supposed to smell and taste, but to be honest, I'd still give this place another try for different entrees because like I said, it was very clean & the ladies were really nice.

Yelp
Score! All three of us (parents and I) agree on this location. We arrived a little later on Saturday night as it was busy. We were able to quickly be seated and received warm friendly service. Our server was very patient with my parents, something I very much appreciate and respect. Everything was so freshly cooked steam was coming off the plate! And portion were large enough we have lunch for the next day! For my dish, chicken pad see ew, I had asked for level 3 of 20 for spiciness. It was a bit much for me and they were kind enough to replace it even after I said it wasn't necessary! That's a great restaurant who cares about the customer. Mom really enjoyed shrimp Rad Nah. I think there were mmms and shahs coming from her. And she is always thrilled when she gets chopped sticks! Dad, our toughest customer started out by saying, yah it's ok. By the end of the meal he actually said we should come back and that he really enjoyed the meal. This from our all American guy who's happy with a hot dog! The team from the front of the house to the kitchen seem to be very tight and well run. It was a very clean location and energetic. Yah, we enjoy our Saturday night "out on the town". Thank you!

Yelp
Stopped by Oodles before the Dance lap event (great show!) at Helix High, which is located right down the street. The restaurant was had plenty of seating and was very clean. The staff was welcoming and the menu was simple to follow with all the ingredients listed with each selection making the choice easy. I went with the Jungle noodles with medium/3 spice. The flavors were spot on and the chicken and shrimp combo worked well. My only knock was the chicken could have been a little more moist. However, I will be back to try a rice dish and some other menu items.

Yelp
Delicious dinner at Oodles by the Noodbar. We were seated immediately and there were many open tables when we arribed. Place was full by 6pm. I do recommend arriving earlier to avoid waiting and delays. To eat, we ordered: - Szechuan Spicy Chicken Wonton- the spicy sauced was perfectly balanced. - THAI GRILLED CHICKEN SALAD- nice and light the peanut dressing was fresh and tangy. Simply perfect. - GARLIC BUTTER NOODLES- Steamed Soba Noodles with Grilled Lemongrass Pork Shoulder. The Pork Shoulder was cooked very nicely it tasted like steak. It was delicious! The place was a little loud with younger families and loud kids. It's more of a casual setting- so this makes sense. A great dinner overall, happy i got to try different pan asian flavors and experience them in new dishes.

Yelp
My coworkers have been trying to get me to try Oodles for months and I was hesitant because it's hard to master so many Asian cuisines on one menu. But then when I saw laksa on the menu I was sold. I can report that it was delicious and everyone else's food on the table looked great. The service is quick and the staff are friendly to ensure we could treat our coworkers birthday lunch and get back to the office in good time.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place since I've seen their instagram and that they just recently opened. Their food pictures and presentation are aesthetically pleasing. Its located borderline La Mesa and just a little east of City Heights in a big plaza with plentiful parking. Pretty spacious inside with plenty of tables. The waitresses come around often despite being busy. They don't serve alcohol just yet. My cousin and I ordered to share; egg rolls, rad na combination protein, and the grilled lemongrass pork over rice. Everything was pretty delicious. The egg rolls were crispy and had a decent amount of filling. I like how the rad na has a generous amount of gravy although it could've used a little more flavor. The spice rack helped so I added in dried chili, pickled jalapeños, and the chili oil. The rice dish with lemongrass pork was nice too it came with a small salad on the plate along with a tamarind dipping sauce. I liked how it made the dish tastier and wasn't too overly tart.

Yelp
I loved the noodles here! The place was nice and clean as well. My only complaint is that they change so much for the extra rice. But otherwise I really enjoyed my meal here. The staff were nice and efficient as well.

Yelp
I love that this place opened up so near me. Fresh, good quality food is what you're getting here. My favorite part is I can be healthy or healthy adjacent if I choose with minimal guilt, the teen always finds something he loves, the toddler can get dumplings galore, and we adults get spicy goodness (Szechuan wontons are always a must order) Super clean and staff is always super friendly. At this point we have dined in and ordered takeout a couple of times and were incredibly happy with the food and experience.

Yelp
This is my first time trying one of the Noodbar restaurants and their opening in La Mesa has settled in. They have an extensive menu of noodle dishes inspired by different Asian countries as well as some other Asian dishes like fried rice, fried appetizers, curries, grilled meats, and salads. My particular interest was for the Laksa, and my boyfriend ordered their Kraprow Kai. It was also my first time having Laksa, aside from trying it in instant noodle form, so I was pretty excited. My noodles were a nice thick rice noodle, and the broth was a coconut milk base with spices and curry. I did enjoy the plentiful amount of chicken, shrimp, and tofu pieces in the bowl, as well as a whole boiled egg. The broth was not salty from the spices and was just right. I think I only got a medium spice, but and the Pad Kraprow Gai was definitely spicy (lvl 5). I do wish my noodles to be chewier as they cooked even more when it was served. The ladies ensured we were doing okay (esp with the spice) and were super sweet! I had a nice casual dinner here and would love to bring my family here to try it as I do see myself coming back!

Yelp
So, there's this AMAZING Thai restaurant located in La Mesa that is A MUST GO TO! Located in a small shopping center so parking is easy. Customer service is AMAZING, food is AMAZING, and location is close to home which is a plus! It's not a huge restaurant. The largest table can sit up to four people so probably not the best location for a large crowd. I am sure they will accommodate if you did arrive with a huge crowd. It also appeared to be a hot spot to take out as well as we were dining. We have been there twice and both experiences have been consistent. Our waitress Aim took the time to educate us on dishes we weren't familiar with and had questions about. Aim was just AMAZING! We ordered: Yellow curry - AMAZING flavor, at level 5 spice it was not as spicy as level 3 spice on the Jungle noodles. Cream cheese avocado wontons - Delish with plum sauce Spicy szechuan chicken wontons - good Garlic salt and pepper chicken wings - Delish with plum sauce Lay me down - AMAZING with plum sauce Oodles fried rice - AMAZING Jungle noodles - AMAZING, level 3 spice will leave a tingle on your tongue Sumo rice - good Fly me to the moon w/mango ice cream - AMAZING Thai tea with boba - great flavor It appears the spice level is hits stronger on the noodles than it does on the curry. Maybe because the yellow curry has coconut milk which cuts the spice level. If in the area, definitely give this location a try! Aim will take VERY GOOD care of you! You're welcome in advance! They do close for an hour 3:30 - 4:30 just FYI.

Yelp
Oodles is a spot I will happily frequent for a pan-Asian dinner! The service is kind and gave good recommendations to match the cozy and welcoming ambiance. There's about ten tables inside, plenty of parking, and food that's worth the price. All of the items I had were generous with the protein portions. The sauce wasn't as spicy as I expected, but it gave an extra umami punch & could quite possibly be added on top of anything on the menu. You can't go wrong with any of their soup broths, and their char siu pork belly is something I never knew I needed. Looking forward to trying more of their menu

Yelp
This place is a fusion noodle restaurant that has a variety of Chinese and Thai food. I liked that they have dishes you don't really see in the area like noodle soup, though they didn't hit the spot in authenticity, but it satisfied the craving enough. I got the wonton noodle soup and it had an umami flavor but there wasn't much depth. The wontons were also chicken, not pork. We got some of the fruit teas and they were pretty good but very sweet and a little artificial. We didn't get the thai tea or taro drinks but other people dining in got it and it looked good. I cane here with a group of friends and there was plenty of seating to accommodate our bigger group. It was pretty clean and the staff were friendly. It was a Saturday night and they closed at 9. We left at 8:55 but I really appreciate that we weren't rushed out. Overall, this place is not bad and I like how local it is so you don't have to go to convoy for a noodle soup.

Yelp
Came for dinner on a rainy evening and the service and attention was really great. We appreciated that. Favorites: Bamee pok pok with the delicious pork and wontons and noodles. The sticky rice dessert (flying over the moon) - we asked for no whip cream and the mango ice cream The purple sticky rice was so good. The HK noodle soup was fine. I'd order a different dish next time because I was expecting the thinner cut char-sui meat but got thicker fatty cuts. Some meat was more tender than others which were a little tough. Easy parking in the lot and plenty of seating inside, we will be back to try other dishes! Great menu variety with east Asian and southeast Asian dishes too.
