We went as a large group. Service was excellent. We ordered one of everything. We loved every dish so much, with the surprising exception of the steak, which surprised us all. Seasonal farm to table. The menu changes, so definitely will be back and try a steak again. They clearly know what they are doing. High end food, reasonable (for Seattle) prices .

Hubby and I enjoyed dinner and cocktails before our show at Seattle opera. KT & Jeanine were amazing and catered to our needs. Allowing us to taste the unique flavors of find, vodka, and bourbon!! The food were meant to be tapas and small sharing but we just got a whole bunch of them and made it into a meal! I really loved the ambience and vibe the place gave off! Also the story of the origination and owners touched my heart! Not often do you have the owner, KT, to come to your table and sit down talk to you, like we been friends forever! We will be back!!

It was a perfect evening. We were celebrating our son’s fiancée’s birthday, and OOLA made the event special, by their food and vibe. The bartender was very friendly. He was my first impression, walking in. And that was where we started: with their original cocktails. I stayed in my lane with whiskey based drinks, “the bear” and their mint julep inspired cocktail. I highly recommend both of these. We ordered all the plates :) for dinner. My favorite was the salmon roe on dense fried potatoes. Sorry, I neglected pictures. My description is awful, but, if you like rich, dense flavor, this is best in class and unique to OOLA. Also a first for me: puffed tendon. My reaction when my kid ordered this was probably “WTF- tendon?”. It crunches and then melts in your mouth. Amazing. So we, 6 people, ate the world, 2 drinks each, at about $100 / person, tip included. For this kind of a special dinner, that is a bargain in Seattle. Also, this would be a great casual place to just get a great cocktail. Finally, our server was personable and attentive. She really helped make the event special. My pics are kind of lame. I’ll have to go back again to add better pics. These do not capture the essence of what a great time we had. Update: although my pics are lacking, Jason Pham has a pic of the roe on potatoes that do the dish justice. Others pics in the reviews also capture the great vibe of OOLA!

Overall great place for a date night or drinks! The space is small and quaint with a little outside area, nothing overly decorated - but gave a fancier aesthetic. Service was amazing and someone even ran out the door just to say thanks for coming in. Food was definitely up there and good quality! I'd say finer dining than other places as all the plates came out with great presentation and great touches of edible flowers on certain dishes. We loved the biscuit as a starter, but I do think they could add more butter to the platter. Way more bread than there was anything to spread on it. The asparagus starter was both my boyfriend and I's favorite thing! They have a carbonara "pasta" that is actually broccolini substituted for noodles so make sure you are aware when ordering. The pasta I ordered was delish and filling. Had no time for dessert sadly, so I definitely want to go back for that! The cocktails are top tier (as it should be since they are a distillery).

The food is fantastic! The dessert is heavenly. The churros are made with high-quality chocolate, and the cheesecake has a perfect balance of flavors.

Lovely drinks and service. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Good variety of non alcoholic cocktails, booze, and more booze ones. Food were shared plates, the kitchen took some time to prepare them even with the house not being full. We ordered chrysanthemums leaves w/blue cheese, pear and cabbage salad, they were very inventive but ok in flavor. Orecchiette with ricotta and citrus was delicious. I'm probably getting old but the cons of this place is the seating areas, chairs and area close to the wall are very uncomfortable and making the client want to leave quickly.

This is such a hidden gem in Seattle! The food, the cocktails, the natural wine selection, the ambiance! All of it exceeded expectations. The tuna crudo is absolutely to die for!

We came on opening night and were blown away by Oola! The owner made us feel right at home and was so attentive to us. The cocktails were phenomenal, especially the “dancing cheek to cheek”. The food was incredible too. Thoughtful flavor combos in every dish. My favorite were the carrots and quark. Great vegetarian options and alcohol free options. We’re going to be back very soon!

Yelp
The service was great! Came in with family, the service was amazing, the staff very attentive. The food was great, specially enjoyed the heirloom tomatoes and the albacore tuna. Really liked the beef too. The cocktails were great, amazing environment for a large group of people having a chill time. Would love to come back!

Yelp
Great cocktails, a small but mighty seasonal/local-inspired menu, an open and airy space, and outdoor seating. We sat at a table that straddled indoor seating and the patio and I got to experience the best of both worlds. From my seat, I felt the fresh breeze and could also see Chef Liz and the kitchen staff rhythmically setting out completed dishes that'd soon be enjoyed. They characterize as casual fine dining and I totally felt it. Delicious but not pretentious. Every bite made me feel something. I'd return for the nettle linguine and their biscuits alone, but everything we tried was delightful -- texturally interesting and flavor forward. While the Cap Hill restaurant only opened this past summer (Aug 2023), Oola Distillery makes gin, whiskey and vodka and is the oldest distillery in Seattle! It was fun to try cocktails with spirits made in house. As far as wine, I loved the Covolo from Vento Italy which was a blend of merlot, cab sauv and cab franc. Erica and Leslie are both lovely people and took excellent care! I'm excited to return.

Yelp
OOLA provided a different curated menu experience each time we had went. The first time we went to OOLA we made a reservation, but to our surprise they still had plenty of seating. The second time we went to OOLA we didn't make a reservation and were able to get a table right away. During the summer they offer seating outside for those who want to dine while enjoying Seattle's beautiful summers. We are always amazed by the food and surprised how this place hasn't got a James Beard award yet! There is plenty of street parking in this part of capitol hill on a weekend in the neighborhood. Citrus sunset - was surprisingly stronger than we thought, but was so good still. Lavender haze - was so easy to drink and floral. Garlic scape linguine - not only did this dish look beautiful, it was also so delicious. I've never had pesto with ricotta before and it was divine. We wanted more of this! Roasted Squab - the cherry demi glaze over the roasted squab was so delicious. Potato Rosti - has an umami flavor coming from the salmon roe. When you bite into the potato rosti the outer layer was so crispy with the inner being soft. Wild boar - the meatballs were so soft and easy to eat. We really loved the creme fraiche, dill, and mint added in it too. The only thing was the potatoes were undercooked, but the flavors went so well together that we didn't mind it much.

Yelp
We went on the OOLA distillery tour and decided to have dinner at OOLA Capitol Hill afterwards -- BEST DECISION, and such a fun way to spend the afternoon. The signature burger and fries are BY FAR the best burger I've ever had. My husband and I each had a cocktail, and they were superb. The staff were really nice and the atmosphere was really relaxed and fun. We had a great time! We live about an hour away from Seattle and I'm not exaggerating when I say that we will be driving back for that burger again!

Yelp
Adorable quaint restaurant located in Capitol Hill. Street parking may be a bit challenging. Unique food and cocktail menu. Server was terrific and took time to explain all the dishes to us. - Our group especially enjoyed the rack of lamb! - The potato rosti is a must have! - Kids were disappointed in the beef tendon stew as it was mostly beans/peas and very tiny cubes of tendon. - albacore tuna is fresh and delicious - both desserts were superb

Yelp
OOLA is such a fantastic place in Capitol Hill for a date night or night out! The variety of drinks and share plates are all so fantastic and beautifully aesthetic! Love how OOLA features all locally crafted vodka, whisky, and gin from their distillery! You will surely find your new favorite drinks here so come ready to try some great alcohol. I love that this place is woman owned and ran - absolutely incredible females working here! There's also a speakeasy here so follow them on Instagram for more details ;)

Yelp
Came for cocktail week and loved to see a woman owned spot! The entire staff working was women which was awesome. We got the kale and potatoes which were absolutely delicious. I want to figure out how to make that kale as it was so good! Love that they have boozy, light booze, and mocktails. Fun spot for a few apps and drinks.

Yelp
Amazing food and drinks. Tried nearly everything in the menu and would highlight the biscuit, broccolini, cod, and fried potato.

Yelp
I went to this place on a weekday for an early dinner with friends. it's a very cute and welcoming spot. We all ordered drinks, and I really enjoyed my cocktail; it was delicious and had a great aroma. The staff here are super friendly - very nice people. The food was good too. I recommend the potato rosti and the Nutella banana cake for dessert.

Yelp
This is a fantastic restaurant with an amazing drink menu as well. I booked for a large party of 14 which was very smoothly run--great service, food, and drinks! The food and drinks all came out very timely and everyone enjoyed the dinner. They have their own distillery, so naturally I had to buy a couple bottles of their fabulous gin (which is better than any other gin I've ever tried--and I've tried them all). The owner KT went out of her way to make us feel welcome. I HIGHLY recommend Oola for large and small parties--if I lived in Seattle, I'd probably eat here at least a couple times a week. LOVED this restaurant!!

Yelp
OOLA is a restaurant located in Capitol Hill that features a cocktail bar, tasting room and bottle shop. They actually used to have a distillery and restaurant called Eletric Cello in Georgetown, but relocated to Capitol Hill as Oola this past August. The location was beautiful and had some small tables as well as a bar area. The only bad thing is that they rely on street parking, which can sometimes be hard to find depending on the day of the week. We went to their cocktail class, which is hosted every second Wednesday of the month for $75. You RSVP in advance online on their website and they provide you with supplies and spirits to make the drinks. The cocktail class was led by their beverage director, Devan, who also curates all the drinks. Devan was an amazing staff member and provided us exceptional service. They were a great teacher and it made the class much more enjoyable and easy to follow along. The class came with 2 drinks and a dessert, as well as a 10% coupon to shop their bottle shop. I really enjoyed the whisky sour we made and the "under the cosmos" which was apart of their holiday menu. This was such a perfect experience and great for a night out/date night in Seattle!

Yelp
I love this place. The environment is perfect for date night or catching up with a friend. Our server was so kind and checked in with us throughout the night. The happy hour is top tier! I had both of the vodka cocktails and they were both delicious. We will definitely be back

Yelp
OOLA is one of the newer restaurants in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. I got the potato rosti and duck. The potato rosti was delicious - it tasted like a pamped up hash brown. The duck had a really similar texture to wagyu, a little different from your everyday peking duck, but was very tasty and tender. The staff was also really nice and attentive, especially our waitress/bartender Devan. My friend and I had a fun time conversating with them. They also make the prettiest and most delectable drinks! I have to admit that the wait time does tend to be on the longer side, but it's definitely worth giving this restaurant a try!

Yelp
Darling place in the Capitol Hill neighborhood! Fabulous service, excellent drinks and the food is amazing! The space is absolutely beautiful and the bartender/server was knowledgeable and her drinks were on point! The butternut squash soup was amazing and vegan. The beet salad looked wonderful. The ambience was friendly and felt very neighborly. The elegant dance of the service was superb. Great place to meet up with friends!

Yelp
My family and I, a party of 5, made a last minute reservation at OOLA and couldn't be happier that we landed at this restaurant. It was a particularly cold evening when we went, and we were immediately greeted with some of the best service I've ever experienced -- they offered us blankets and soft, heated pouches to keep us warm. That being said, the interior was well insulated and, once we warmed up from being outside (20°F), they were no longer needed. The ambiance was wonderful, reminding us of a classy, speak-easy type of atmosphere. One of my favorite aspects of their menu, which I've personally never seen before, was their list of drinks on the front. They ranged from "no booze" to "a little booze" to "booze-y", which I thought was really cute and creative. Their dinner style is shared plates, so I would be sure to go with friends/family who enjoy family-style (which my family and I love). This would also be a *perfect* spot for date night. The food was insanely delicious. We started off with the Brie and Butter, Baby Red Beets, (2) Potato Rosti, Creamed Carrot, Celeriac Schnitzel, and (2) Braised Squid. We then ordered the Cured Steelhead Trout and wow was that incredible. Everything about their menu was impeccable, from the quality to the innovation to the flavors. The women who waited on us were so genuinely kind and answered any questions we had about the drinks or dishes. Our group agreed that our favorites were the Brie and Butter, Potato Rosti, Creamed Carrot and Cured Steelhead Trout. We ended the evening with both of their desserts, the Vanilla Pot de Creme and the Pudding Cake, and I don't think I could choose a favorite. The after-dinner espresso that we ordered was clearly high-quality and so good. I can't wait to come back and love that their menu always changes!

Yelp
*Update* They say two to make it true so, I went back for seconds! Came back to OOLA on June 1, 2024 and tried the road less traveled mocktail which is a favorite of mines right now (Pathfinder N/A hemp spirit, Lyres Blood Orange N/A Liqueur, Pineapple, Lime, Sugar) the seared scallops they just added to the menu and it was absolutely divine. Scallops, Mushrooms, Mussels, and some greens paired with such a incredible sauce sitting underneath. I also tried the potato rosti that was just so damn good! Who doesn't like potatoes right! On top of them was a pickled red onion and salmon roe which really elevated this to a different level. I have been wanting to go back for thirds so check back here soon to find out what else I tried! I have been wanting to check out OOLA since they opened the restaurant and I finally got the chance this past Wednesday. Upon arriving I was greeted by the owner KT who was just awesome to talk to and was very eager for me to finally try their food. I had already had an idea on what I wanted but I still wasn't sure exactly that would be. KT offered to make the choice for me and I was very much open to the idea. While I was waiting for my meal I was presented with the St Jude Albacore Tuna that was a intense but amazing burst of flavors. I could not believe how fresh, vibrant, and decadent this dish was. So much so that I was scraping the spoon to get every last bit of flavor. After that I was brought the Nettle Linguine which was the first initial choice I had made before coming in but to have it be chosen for me as well lets me know it was meant for me to have it. This pasta was incredibly mouth watering, savory and it left me wanting more. Upon seeing that dish leave right before my eyes I knew that I needed to try one more dish. That dish would be the lamb ribs and it was incredibly tender and falling off the bone which is always a great sign. The ribs were topped with a rhubarb bbq sauce that for me personally wish had a bit more of a kick to it spice wise but it did not ruin the dish whatsoever. The onions and relish paired with the carrot puree was a great touch and brought balance to the dish. Overall my experience has left me eager to come back and try more of the menu and back when the menu changes through the seasons. If you are ever in Cap Hill and want to try something new, give OOLA a try.

Yelp
I came here for a drink with a friend on Saturday evening and sat at the bar! The drink I ordered was the Dancing Bible Width Apart. I loved the taste of the cardamom, grilled peach and the egg white in the drink. Nice to see this place open up, it's definitely a little on the pricey side, but there's a nice ambience, service and I'm looking forward to going back to try some of the food!

Yelp
So we went looking for the new OOLA tasting room on Capitol Hill and were surprised instead to find OOLA had opened an amazing restaurant. The restaurant is in the location of the beloved neighborhood favorite Marjorie. While we were disappointed that Marjorie was closed we were pleasantly surprised by the elegant menu. We had small plates that were as delicious as they were beautifully plated. So flavorful and well balanced. The Fried potato rosti and Baba au Whiskey dessert were especially to die for. Everything else was also top notch, the warm service, excellent music, plus the casual cozy feel of Marjorie was still there. And, of course, the OOLA cocktails were amazing. Happy to hear Marjorie may be reopening at another location but also very happy that such a wonderful fresh new restaurant has taken its place! I'm sure OOLA will become as beloved a neighborhood fave as Marjorie. (Updated as I meant to give 5 stars and Yelp defaulted me to 4!)

Yelp
The drinks were fantastic but the service was terrible. We waited 40 minutes before we got our drinks. It's too bad because the menu looked great but we didn't have the time to stay longer. It's very cute and I wish we'd had a better experience.

Yelp
Omg, y'all.....this is my new FAVORITE restaurant. My girlfriend and I went here for date night on a whim and we were both blown away. Ambience inside the restaurant was perfect for a nighttime date, it wasn't loud, food was delicious and plating was incredible (like, wow), prices were fair for the level of service (which was amazing) and quality of food/plating/drinks, drinks were amazing, the place was clean, and the servers and bartender were fun and professional. They were able to make great recommendations and made this a special experience for us. I love the location and this is for sure one of our new regular spots. We can't wait to come back!

P H.

Yelp
Cozy restaurant with delicious food (fav is the potato rosti) and excellent service! The only downside is street parking can be hard to find.
google avatar

Alisa N.

Yelp
Food was great. Everything is small shareable plates. We got 2 main courses and 4 appetizers for a table of two, we were full. Very nice service. Be prepared for long waits, but if you are there to chill - it's okay.

Kate R.

Yelp
This place is one of a kind. It was cold out, had rained earlier, and we couldn't find anywhere that would even serve us outside, and then we happened by here. They brought out heaters, furry blankets for the metal chairs, and then, when we thought it couldn't get any better - fuzzy hot water bottles! The artisanal cocktails and mocktails are whimsical and lovely, the food is tasty and the service is the best. One of us was vegan and gluten-free and they had the chef make her something not on the menu. Expensive but worth it for a treat.

Amy S.

Yelp
The food and drinks were delicious but don't come hungry, in fact, we advise to eat a small meal in advance. And if you any food allergies, skip it all together. One of us has a dairy allergy so we ordered the 2 dairy free items and they were delicious, but you needed a microscope to see them. Our biggest complaint was the passive aggression from the owner and the wait staff: after telling them we were starving and asking for some bread. the owner came out to apologize, and alluded to offering us complimentary drinks but never did, asked if my dairy-free friend could eat butter (which makes no sense), and at one point joked that maybe we should get take out pizza instead. We are writing this from a diner nearby where we came eager to eat anything after spending $200 on a meal that left us hungry. We are 2 petite women who don't normally eat that much and we consider ourselves pretty polite. Overall the food was delicious but the menu was sparse and the staff was not helpful.

Franklin C.

Yelp
Wonderful music, service, and seating. Selfishly making this review because I need it to be open forever so I can keep being awestruck by their rotating menu. Every bite was more delicious than the last and each drink was smooth and flavorful. They know what they are doing here!!!! Must go to here if you have an evening free in Seattle. Serving sizes are small so order as many dishes as intrigues you. 10s across the board.

Nicole M.

Yelp
I love this place! The food is top-notch, Lyssa our waitress and hostess could not be warmer or more personable if she tried, and the dish presentations are just lovely. The new space in Capital Hill is smaller and cozier than their old place, but I enjoyed it just the same, still had that 'Oola' vibe. If you have not checked this place out yet do yourself a favor. Great place for a date or with friends, heck I'd even go by myself and eat at the bar. Five stars is not enough. But back to Lyssa, she has a way of making your time there extra special. I will be back and highly recommend if you're looking for a new haunt!
