"It looks like Osteria Pronto, the Italian restaurant within the downtown JW Marriott hotel, is undergoing a refresher. Its name will change to OP Italian, and there will be an updated space, plus new menu, according to the Poached listing for staff. It’s expected to debut in February." - Nadia Chaudhury

My mother and I were downtown for a concert at Everwise Amphitheater and enjoyed dinner at OP Italian. Our waitress, Brooke, was absolutely amazing! She was very knowledgeable about the menu and flavor profiles. She made ordering and trying new things a breeze! She really made the whole meal and experience! The food was made with fresh ingredients and had great taste. The wood fired pizza was a little soggy in the middle for my liking, but I would recommend it still and definitely eat it again. If you need a restaurant close by for your next concert or just want a fun experience, I highly recommend OP Italian!

(September 28-30, 2024) We ate there on three different occasions, both getting different entree’s. Everything was wonderful! They use high-quality, fresh ingredients. The food arrives quickly and at just the right temperature. The servings are ample. The wait staff is phenomenal and make you feel as though you’re the only customers in the room. The menu is small and limited but all dishes are done to absolute perfection and they encourage and allow changes or additions/deletions to their offerings. Pricing is right in line for the quality and quantity of food. Best pizza I’ve ever had, club sandwich is huge and packed with meat and cheeses. If I lived in Indianapolis, I would come here to eat frequently.

Food was great, legitimately great. However Atmosphere was crazy loud for how few people were there. Martinis were very excellent, with one exception … the olives in the martini were not great. They were small and mushy.

We came during a very busy conference time when I'm sure they were slammed and we still got great service. Brooke was so kind and accommodating with us (the sun was shining right into one of our eyes from the reflection of a building and she and the manager solved it). We enjoyed cocktails, shared the garlic bread, burrata, and meatballs, then ordered a lot of pasta that was all amazing and pizza (mushroom truffle pizza had SO MANY mushrooms on it, and note that the ricotta has a lemon flavor so if that's not your palate preference you may want to choose something else), then we split the tiramisu and triple chocolate cake that were perfect.

Staying at the Marriott where this restaurant is located and opted for breakfast here instead of going out. Had the yogurt and granola, mixed fruit and muffin and a side of turkey sausage. Would definitely return. Also had lunch here the prior day.

My friend and I dined here last night. We started with the roasted wild mushroom appetizer which came with arugula, roasted garlic, aged balsamic, pecorino romano which was delicious. For our main course we shared the Short Rib Gnocchi which was braised short rib, potato gnocchi, gorgonzola cream, red wine jus. It was good but really nothing special, I wouldn’t eat again. The waitress was super sweet and made our dinner enjoyable. The lighting was quite dark which I didn’t love. They actually turned the lights on toward the end because the restaurant was closing and we could actually see the place. Before we left we enjoyed an espresso martini which was one of the better ones I’ve had. Overall, I can’t say I would return. Good experience but not good enough.

The food, drinks, ambience, and service were all amazing!! And on top of that, I had a small medical emergency (blood pressure drop) and the manager and staff immediately came to my assistance to make sure I was okay. They even offered a free brownie to help me get better. I’m very grateful. I also love that the restaurant is connected to the JW Marriott hotel as I’m staying here for a conference so I was able to just go upstairs to room to rest.

Had an excellent time here with Tyler, the bartender. A real pro. Down to earth dude, knows Indianapolis really well, and makes some killer drinks (his daiquiri was fantastic). Got the vodka rigatoni - excellent - everything was done just right. Definitely worth the visit even if you’re not staying in the JW.
