Op Oost - Boutique Hotel & Restaurant het Kook Atelier

This is one of the most special hotels I’ve ever visited. The grounds, the rooms and the food were all absolutely perfect. The service across the board was amazing and being on this uniquely wonderful island at this hotel was kind of like utopia. My only regret is that we only had one night here but now we know we must return and stay longer!

I rarely write reviews, but for this hotel, I'll make an exception. During our road trip of the Netherlands in October, we visited the island of Texel. Throughout our three-night stay at the Op Oost Boutique hotel on the island, there was no water until 6:00 PM on the first day due to nearby street repairs. Although the hotel wasn't at fault for the water outage, the friendly staff did their best to ensure we had a pleasant experience. As a result, we weren't charged for anything we drank at the bar for the three days, thanks to the water issue😃 The hotel focuses on healthy dining, growing many ingredients themselves or sourcing from local farmers. We enjoyed delicious and nutritious breakfasts, particularly the homemade yogurt and carrot juice. We'll definitely return in the future ❤️

An amazing experience. From the welcom till the goodbye, the love is felt in everything. Exceptional service, top quallity food and wine and a wonderful room to lay down after all that. Then waking up to an amazing fresh breakfast on your private pattio outside the room. We stayed in one of the three seaweed lodges. A pleasant downstairs with everything you need and a loft with a very comfortable bed. The garden, the surroundings, the silence and all the birdlife make this an amazing escape from the hustle and bustle of every day life. I 100% recommend this place for great food, and if you are so lucky an amazing stay.

The hotel is recently renovated and looks beautiful, neat and clean. Upon arrival you get a tasty majestic looking naturally made drink which fits the ambiance of the charming nature surrounded garden, where you can pick your own snack-tomatoes and herbs to make tea in your room. Our room looked nice as well even though it was a bit small. The bed didn’t have a headboard and we couldn’t sleep very well because there were a lot of insects in the room. An anti-insect net for the windows would be very beneficial. Only for this reason we wouldn’t have wanted to stay longer than one day. Luckily the breakfast made up for it. We woke up earlier than expected so we wanted te breakfast earlier than we had mentioned but that was no problem at all, the staff is very kind and considerate. All food is locally produced and tastes wonderful! The breakfast was a 10/10 for me, as well as the hotel itself apart from the bugs in the room😁

The one word I can describe this stay is WOW. The place is absolutely beautiful. At one with nature while still offering luxury. The food was impeccable and incredible that it all came from the location or very close by. Obvious that the theme is very much farm-to-table only using what's in season. We had the most incredible gastro experience at Op Oost's own restaurant. The creativity of the courses was just breathtaking and of course incredibly tasty. No question I'd recommend Op Oost. BTW we had 2 noisy kids with us and it was completely fine. We were welcomed very warmly.

We had an absolutely amazing stay. All staff were very kind and helpful and the food, both breakfast and dinner, was extremely good due to high quality and fresh products. The environment around is also amazing, and very peaceful. The rooms are fresh and clean, with nice outdoor space for breakfast. We definitely want to come back and highly recommend it!

The location, the rooms, the building, the view, everything is so beautiful! I loved the stay and the friendly staff. The food was not my taste as it had many briny courses, and I was unpleasantly surprised by the prices of the food. However, it was made with lots of love and passion, so it was probably just not my taste.

This place is truly amazing. The people working here are kind, the food is superb, there surroundings bring so much peace, the rooms are luxurious, breakfast was lovely! We’ll come back for sure. Thank you very much!
