Decided to try this venue for a birthday celebration with a group of people, and made reservations in advance based on several recommendations. Unfortunately, they had a private event going on, so a decent size table in a space that would make sense for us was not available.
They crammed us into a tiny table in the main dining area by the front door, which meant every time the door opened, we were welcomed with a gust of cold wind. This led to me having to eat with my coat on, so the experience was not as expected. If I had known in advance that the room to the side was booked or that we would be on top of the front door, I would not have made a reservation and selected a different venue.
Was not aware that this was counter service only and that the food will come to you once prepared. It was somewhat disjointed and confusing, some of our tables had to wait in line, and those that ordered last got their food first. It took a good amount of time for all of us to get our food. Not sure why it is set up this way, it doesn't make sense. I was also told we had to bus our own place settings and silverware. For what they are charging and tips expected, that should be included.
The food was decent, but nothing outstanding. The Open Door Tea salad I was given looked nothing like the photos on their website. It was primarily lettuce, with very little else, the butternut squash was dried out and the pieces were very small, with no taste. I had to get extra dressing because what the bowl of lettuce they gave me was very dry. The desserts were priced very high for the quality and serving size.
I am not sure that I would try again, but if so, I would make sure it is not in the winter unless I was bundled up warmly.
