Salt Cocktail Bar Opening in JBG Central Place Plaza in Rosslyn | Eater DC

"Perched above Salt, Open Road’s new Rosslyn outpost presents an Americana-themed, 80-seat grill intended as the more casual, daytime counterpart to the cocktail bar — a deliberate "night and day" difference. The space uses reclaimed wood and features an American flag mural, a suspended Harley-Davidson Fatboy motorcycle and paintings of Nationals slugger Ryan Zimmerman and Bruce Springsteen by local artist Jack Labadie. Weekday happy hour runs 4–7 p.m. with $5 draft beers, $7 house wines and $8 small plates; the room includes 10 TVs and is aimed at serving Rosslyn’s growing daytime crowd. Hours are 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on weekdays (midnight close Friday), Saturday 10 a.m.–midnight, and Sunday 10 a.m.–11 p.m." - Tierney Plumb

We visited the restaurant as a family. The service was good and fast — the staff were polite and attentive. However, when we asked for a recommendation for a child-friendly dish, they weren’t able to help. We ended up ordering the Braised Beef Penne, but it didn’t taste good, and our child didn’t want to eat it — he left hungry. It would be great to see more attention to kids’ options or clearer suggestions for families with children.

Came for happy hour drinks and apps. The wings were good. Good beer selection. The happy hour deals are good. Overall, the vibe and drinks and menu make this a good place to go.

Average food. Delicious drinks. Great atmosphere. I had a burger and for some reason all places make them well done (even congratulations) and not medium.other than that food was decent, fries are more a hollow shells and not a full potato fry- if that makes sense? However the drink i had was absolutely delicious, ginger tea and whiskey, it was great. Atmosphere was relaxed and nice, service was great i really can’t complain another it. Overall average place not much character. P.S. My ratings are based on whether I believe I could make a better or healthier version at home. If food/drinks/service impress me, I'll be happy to come back. If not the stars reflect that.

Simple American food with friendly staff and tasty brunch options. Would recommend: avocado toast and chicken salad. Also a cute touch—they give you popcorn when you sit down.

Dining at Open Road - Rosslyn was an absolute pleasure! Here’s a breakdown of our experience: Food: Popcorn Starter: A fun and tasty surprise! The complimentary popcorn was a great way to kick off the meal. The Shrimp and Grits: Simply outstanding—easily among the best I’ve ever had. Every bite was packed with flavor! The Philly Cheesesteak with Fries were served piping hot, with the cheesesteak perfectly seasoned and the fries golden and crispy. Service: The staff were fantastic—attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Their excellent service made the experience even more enjoyable. Price: The prices were reasonable, especially considering the quality of both the food and service and the location. Great value overall!

Visiting from out of town. Right off the Metro stop. Great space with outdoor seating. Our bartender Daniel was awesome!!! The jambalaya surprised us with very authentic flavors. Would definitely come here again any time. Convenient, good food and great energy. Update: stopped a second day just to confirm the first wasn't a fluke. Food was great. Service was top notch. Had the onion rings and chicken lettuce wraps. Yummy.

While exploring the nearby area, we were looking for a restaurant to have lunch and stumbled upon this casual eatery. The interior decor was a wonderful representation of Americana, with a painting of Marilyn Monroe and others and a wall painted with an American flag, which provided a unique atmosphere while we dined. The service was attentive, and the food was delicious. We particularly enjoyed their burgers, and our overall experience was pleasant.

The Jambalaya is incredible! I really like the seasoning used in the roux. The bacon brussels were also a hit with our party. This restaurant has an upscale and cozy atmosphere. The value you receive is well worth the price at Open Road.
