"Elegance and sophistication permeate every inch of this establishment, from the inviting lounge – perfect for an aperitif, digestif or coffee – to the stylish, contemporary restaurant and the fabulous terrace overlooking Lake Constance. The Riva hotel's fine dining restaurant boasts a prime waterfront location, but it captures hearts first and foremost with its classic-inspired cuisine under the culinary direction of Dirk Hoberg. This spruce Jugendstil villa dating from 1909 provides the setting in which to sample a tasting menu composed of refined and meticulously crafted dishes, complete with sauces inspired by the classics of French cuisine – the Château Chalon sauce, for example, is exquisite! The chefs serve one or two courses themselves. The extensive wine list features a particularly good selection of regional labels and sparkling wines, and the sommelier's recommendations are spot on. Tip: Book the "Kitchen Table" right by the pass to the open kitchen. Up to four diners can sit here with a clear view of the chefs at work." - Michelin Inspector

Lovely cafe with breakfast, coffee, and treats. The pistachio latte (and their coffee in general) is so good! Will return.

Great little cafe, sweet treats in the window looked amazing! I got the fried egg with avocado and bacon on a focaccia and it was amazing! 10/10 My partner got the avocado on toast, even though she didn’t realise it came with cream cheese which she is not a fan of she still thought it was great! My latte was amazing, probably one of the best coffees I’ve had in europe. My partner wasn’t a fan of the pistachio iced macchiato I will definitely be coming back and adding a red velvet cookie to my order!

Excellent experience! It was a little on the windy/chillier side when we went and Maria immediately brought us some blankets as we had a baby with us. Immediately we ordered brunch and the coffee and food was so delicious! Hands down the Ophelia Coffee and savory french toast stole the show! Beat things on the menu. If we can make it back before our trip is over we 100% will be back. If you are in Cascais do not pass up Ophelia's.

Revisit 2 August 2025: I ordered the waffle with yogurt and red berries with juice of the day. I also asked for an extra waffle with maple syrup. The extra waffle came to my table first and it was great. It had some crispy edges and the syrup was average. Moments later my waffle with yogurt and red berries arrived and the waffle was soft and rubbery. The waffle was served with honey on the side. I personally didn’t care for the honey on a waffle. Overall, I had two different experiences which tells me consistency is a problem. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately neither me nor my wife liked our meals. I ordered the omelette and it was pretty disappointing for my liking. Trying to keep an open mind, Ive never seen or tasted a omelette the way that it’s prepared here. It tasted as if the cheese and egg was cooked together, 🤷🏾‍♂️. I couldn’t see cheese but I could taste it. I’ve included a picture for clarity. The toast was really hard as well. So I couldn’t eat t. Also, the wording is a bit misleading. The description says it’s stuffed with cheese and served with a salad. It also says that you can purchase extra spinach and extra wild mushrooms. I assumed because it says “extra” that there would be spinach and mushrooms and that if you wanted “extra” you would be charged for “extra”.

Wonderful little neighborhood place! Delicious food, cute ambiance with great background music, and very friendly service. It's famous for its breakfast/ brunch but they also serve really tasty dinner (also wine and beer). Our lovely waitress, Fernanda, mentioned that they will begin trying out extended evening hours - instead of 7pm they will start closing at 8pm. My absolute favorites are polenta and Mom's Pig Cheeks. Addictively tasty! Weather allowing, dogs are welcome on the outside patio.

Excellent cafe- their pastries, desserts, and cookies were delicious! Also- probably the best orange juice I have ever had…. And the matcha latte and dirty chai were total bliss!

Great place for brunch. Their omelette and french toast were amazing. They also make amazing Pavlovas! Although they roast their own beans, the coffee was average, not bad, but not amazing. But the quality of the food makes up for it! We will be coming back!
