Rooftop lounge at the Beekman Tower sporting plush banquettes, cocktails & East River views.
"A Southern-style bakery in New York offering traditional baked goods inspired by South Carolina Lowcountry fare."
"What It Is: A cocktail bar on the roof of the Beekman Tower in Midtown East Perfect For: Corporate Cards, Drinks And A Light Bite Ophelia is a new cocktail bar on the roof of the Beekman Tower in Midtown East with some great views of the East River. We recently checked it out at around 8pm on a weeknight, and while all the tables on the indoor/outdoor wraparound patio were taken (or reserved), we didn’t have trouble standing at the bar. The cocktails have some unusual ingredients and we liked the one with egg white and turmeric, but they’re really expensive ($16-$28). The bar food, like steak tartare with some great grilled bread, was pretty good as well. The Verdict: If you’re OK with paying $20 for a cocktail, then this is a good spot for fancy after-work drinks in Midtown." - hannah albertine, bryan kim, katherine lewin, hillary reinsberg, chris stang, matt tervooren
"In Narnia, “it’s always winter but never Christmas,” thanks to the self-appointed Queen of Narnia, the White Witch Jadis. But was she a villain or was she a misunderstood girlboss with impeccable taste in white clothing? Whatever you may think of her, take a cue from this sty-con and wear your fabulous winter whites to Ophelia’s stunning Snow Globe in the Sky. Strings of blue lights with snowflakes hang from the ceiling like icicles and every piece of furniture on the Midtown rooftop wears a fur stole. Come before or after dinner for cocktails and snacks like baked brie and sea bass skewers. There are no chestnuts or teddy bear Santas on this rooftop, but this is the most glamorous place you can drink a martini this winter." - neha talreja
"Make your way to the 26th floor at 3 Mitchell Place to experience the view at Ophelia Lounge. The bar located at the top of the Beekman Tower offers fantastic 360-degree views of Manhattan all in a greenhouse terrace, making it a prime place to step outside in the summer and look out the floor-to-ceiling windows all winter long. Though it has an extensive list of beers and wines, don't miss its craft cocktails, including the Resurrection, made with Grey Goose, Campari, lime, passion fruit, and hibiscus for a fruity kick." - Stacey Leasca
"If you’re OK with slightly more expensive cocktails (including a $28 martini), try Ophelia. It’s another rooftop bar in Midtown, and it’s a little more upscale than the Refinery Hotel. It has a big art-deco themed indoor area, you can make a reservation in advance, and you can sit on a red banquette with a view of the part of NYC where you happen to work and somehow spend most of your time." - Bryan Kim
