"If you didn’t think Allston has excellent sushi, think again. Oppa Sushi is a bit of a hidden gem in the neighborhood, but they’ve been serving top-notch sushi for a decade. The spot features inventive maki rolls, sushi, sashimi, as well as entrees like bibimbap." - Lala Thaddeus, Terrence Doyle

Very good sushi if you’re ordering delivery. The Maki combo (salmon avocado, tuna avocado, and California) is a great value. It even comes with miso soup. I liked the high fish to rice ratio as well as the avocado that was appropriately ripe.

Their fish bowl soup is $30 instead of $25 listed on the menu. It's actually delicious 🤤 also lots of small clam, mussels, fish and fish white in the soup.

My friend and I came here looking for some Korean style sushi. While their menu was limited than I initially expected, we were able to find the spicy fish bowl soup which is a popular dish in Korea during the summer. The bowl came with an icy cold broth and vegetables that enhanced the refreshing aftertaste. The classic combination of thinly sliced squid and the sweet and spicy broth was nice, but the broth was too sweet for my taste. We also had the regular sushi and the scallop yaki, but both were unfortunately mediocre at best. Without AC, the restaurant was extremely hot and humid. The servers tried their best to provide us with a table closest to a fan, but it was pointless. Humidity and temperature are also critical factors in maintaining the quality of the sushi, so it was a bit concerning. We were also hugely disappointed when we found out that some items on the menu were more expensive than what was indicated. The fish bowl soup ended up being $10 more expensive, and we didn’t realize this until we got out. Although I would love to give a higher rating for their superb service, the overall experience wasn’t worth what I paid for.

They up-charged every item on the menu without telling our party beforehand. When we addressed the issue, they simply said the prices were supposed to be different and their menu has not been updated. Food is kinda mid.

A bit of a hidden gem in the Allston area! Walking past this spot for almost a year, I had no knowledge of this restaurant, nor how good it would be. Right when you are sat down they bring complimentary miso soup for the table, and as someone who is normally not a big fan, i thoroughly enjoyed it. I got the Allston roll and the Pink Lady Maki, and both were very good. The food was all great but the price was a bit higher then I would have thought. Will definitely try again in the future.

Pros: server was excellent, service was fast and respondent, sushi was amazing, get #23 ( torch salmon was awesome) and #15, the Celtics dish sauce was okay at best. Decor is valid and artsy! Misou soup was a 10/10 wow! Cons: Place is humid but it did not ruin our experience even though it was 95 degrees .lack of drinks, soda cans $2?!

One of my favorite sushi places in the Allston area. It’s almost underground and they’ve recently expanded so it’s not tight and uncomfortable. Staff is always very friendly and it’s a great place to go as a group. You can try multiple rolls Without breaking the bank. Also, if you do go alone the rolls are reasonably priced as well. I’ve tried most of their menu and they never disappoint. Checkout the photos below and ask for the flaming sushi, it’s great for show! Fresh fish and hot sake = great time and happy bellies

I feel that this place is underrated. Oppa is great and it has the potential to be more! This is hole in the wall authentic. Don't come here thinking it's a grandeur building because it isn't. It's small and homey but the sushi is worth it. Service was good - didn't hover and explained which rolls were placed where on the plate. We did have to ask for a water refill but it is one person serving/greeting/seating and he had a lot going on between others dining in and picking up take out so, give some grace! Miso soup is given complimentary when you are seated. It had a great flavor, a little room temperature but the tofu was cooked just right. We had the Red Dragon, Oppa Maki, Tornado Maki and Rainbow. The Tornado and Rainbow were our favorites! Their sake was light and mild, which I really liked (and I'm not a Sake fan). Reasonably priced sushi for being in Boston, averaged $30/person for our meal. If you're looking for somewhere low-key and has quality, check out Oppa!
