"One of Chicago’s most well-regarded caterers is slated to open a new restaurant in the space that formerly housed popular Italian theater district spot Tesori. Jewell Events Catering plans to open Opus on September 19 at 65 E. Adams Street inside the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s Symphony Center in the Loop, according to a representative. The more than 50-year-old catering company has a hand in food services at a range of museums, theaters, and cafes across Chicago, including restaurants inside the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Opus’ opening is scheduled to coincide with the launch of CSO’s 2019/2020 season, and will offer two pre-concert seatings that will vary based on when each concert starts, with several $45 prix-fixe dinner selections before the performance. Representatives have not yet provided details as to the size or appearance of the space, or how many people it will seat. A menu isn’t yet available and dish details are scarce, but photographs online show options like rack of lamb, salmon, and steak entrees. The space will also house Opus Cafe, a casual breakfast bistro featuring lighter fare like salads, sandwiches, and flatbreads." - Naomi Waxman

Great spot for wine and flatbreads. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. Go for the happy hour specials! Located near the CSO. Menu items are tributes to the orchestra. Casual atmosphere. Nice spot!

Very nice upcoming restaurant for the chicago symphony orchestra house. Came for appetizers and drinks along with a typical busy Saturday night crowd. The place was recently renovated and super nice, modern designs. The drinks were served quickly and had very knowledgeable and friendly bartenders. The old fashioned seemed very popular. Good prices drinks for the downtown area. Was checked on several times to make sure I was taken care of. Would highly recommend before or after a show, for drinks appetizers or light dinner.

I have enjoyed the bar menu a couple of times and highly recommend this place. Cappuccinos and hot chocolate are made with excellent attention to details. There is a solid wine list and they can even do a proper Absinthe pour. The bacon and brie burger is very savory, the cauliflower bites inspired and grilled cheese and fries oozes with truffle oil. Prices are reasonable for downtown.

Def a high class place! Where the food is really high quality and you can tell the chef took his time for presentation of every plate. So if you are coming here to get stuffed full of food; this isn't your place. Understand that, this is a high quality place designed for the experience of good high quality food; not a buffet to stuff yourself full. That being said their corn risotto IS AMAZING, and I think I could eat three vats to that stuff, YUMMM!

After years of coming to Rhapsody and Tesori both before and after the symphony, we were horribly disappointed in the food at Opus. The bar menu is extremely limited and of poor quality. Cauliflower bites were heavily breaded, fried and mushy. Tasted like something from the frozen food case. Mushroom flatbread was burned. Servers were excellent and service was prompt post symphony on a cold night. There would have to be major changes for us to return. Missing the Tesori bar menu. Maybe a caterer is not the right choice to run this restaurant.

I love this restaurant! I came here for dinner before a performance, and would highly recommended this restaurant. The ambiance, food, and service was spectacular. We even returned later in the evening for a glass of wine, and ended up ordering off of the bar menu!

A truly terrible meal George Jewell has been around a long time While this was only their third day in operation it was truly unacceptable Excellent service No bar so free wine All food comes at once like on an airplane My guest and I had an acceptable soup my one shrimp in brioche was tasteless as was her squash soufflé Our pork tenderloin was dry as cardboard and tasteless This of course is not a restaurant but catered food Will never return

Well, if you get in don't expect to get waited on! We sat here for 45 minutes and we were very obviously forgotten about! 😣
