This is a great Mexican restaurant for the Boston area! There aren’t a lot of great ones around, and I’m real picky about my Mexican food. After visiting twice I’m sold on this place! The birria and shrimp nachos are some of the best I’ve ever had. The burritos are great and the pupusas are excellent. Definitely recommend a visit here!

I had a delightful experience at Orela Mexican Grill. As I work nearby, I discovered this charming restaurant during a lunch walk with a colleague. The lively Latin music playing as you approach truly enhances the atmosphere of this cozy establishment. The vibrant colors also contribute to a warm and inviting environment. I enjoyed the fresh mango juice, which was exceptional and brought back memories of my childhood. No matter what you choose from their menu, you're likely to have an excellent meal, as everything tastes fresh and prepared with care. Additionally, the staff exemplifies efficiency and friendliness. This will be my go-to dining spot from now on.

Google
Tasty stuff but my god the portions on some items are insanely small for the price. Cant justify going back. $11 for chips and guac where they serve your 1/3 cup of guac on a plastic molcajete?? $8.50 for churros and ice cream where they serve just three (3) chode ahh churros with store bought ice cream?? Profit margins must be crazy at this place.

The service here was welcoming and helpful. The man taking our order was patient and friendly. We ate outside as they have sidewalk seating. The food was highly recommended and it did not disappoint. I had the tropical tacos with fried shrimp and some of the burrito bowl. Everything was packed with flavor and the shrimp was complimented so nicely with the sauce and salsa on top. I would definitely loc to try it again.

We have loved Orale since they opened in 2020! We came here for our anniversary dinner and love the ambiance. The decor inside is so bright and fun, especially this time of year with Día de Los Muertos so close. We ordered tostones con guacamole, birria taco Jalisco style, and a pork torta. Drinks were amazing and the servers were very kind. I highly recommend for a fun dinner with friends or family!

We ordered take out Birria tacos and the food was delicious but they forgot to deliver our other order. We had to order another food from another place.

We recently visited Orale Mexican Grill, located at 847 Cambridge St., for a delightful Mexican dining experience. The cozy atmosphere and vibrant décor immediately set the tone for an enjoyable meal. A refreshing tropical drink that was smooth and creamy, perfect for cooling down on a warm day. It had just the right balance of coconut and pineapple. The veggie nachos were loaded with cheesy goodness, the empanadas were crispy perfection, and the tacos hit just right. The coffee was served in a traditional clay mug, adding an authentic touch to the experience. Rich and aromatic, it was the perfect end to our meal. Highly recommend if you’re in the area for some tasty Mexican eats! 🇲🇽🌶️ #OraleMexicanGrill #CambridgeEats #VeggieNachos #EmpanadaLovers #TacoTime #PinaColadaVibes #BostonFoodies #MexicanFoodFiesta

Woah!!! Everyone should go here to try the burrito with the most authentic Mexican street favor you can find in Massachusetts, by far!

Yelp
My second time here and it'll honestly be a place I'll come often when I'm craving birria or Al pastor tacos! Birria Tacos ($14.65): I wanted to try their birria tacos again and the way they fried the tortilla was different (in a good way) from the first time I went! Super flavorful and though it was still just a tad bit salty I'd take that anyday compared to a bland one Al Pastor Tacos ($3.95): these were SO FLAVORFUL wow we had to get a second one right away bc it was that good!! The marinade had a nice balance of sweet and savory and I love how everything was coated definitely recommend!!!! With the creamy green sauce chefs kissss Steak Asada Quesadillas ($12.50): I wanted to get the quesadilla with Al pastor inside but my bf said to get the steak and afterwards we knew the Al pastor inside would be so much better after getting the tacos. The quesadillas wasn't anything too crazy or amazing but I still enjoyed it with the melted cheese inside CHURROS ($4.75): I have A BIG OBSESSION WITH CHURROS these satisfied my cravings. I liked how they had a little bit of ducle de leche inside as well I've had a regular chicken taco here before and it just tasted okay to me. The Al pastor is really flavorful and I enjoyed it so much that my recommendation to come here are for birria, Al pastor tacos, and churros!

Yelp
Top 2 or 3 birria tacos I've ever had. The consommé is rich in spices and flavor, and not outrageously expensive like most places. Food came out super fast, but tasted fresh, not premade at all. Sit outside if you can, it's nice and quiet at night. The margs are also delicious.

Yelp
Just a few minutes from Union Square, this is a great little spot for some delicious Mexican food. We were lucky to find a little table to sit at - since we visited on a Friday night it got super packed inside (and outside!). We started off with a Piña Colada since this place seemed to have great drink options. It came topped with a fresh slice of pineapple, a cherry, and some toasted coconut on the rim. It was tasty but had lots of ice chunks in it, so I enjoyed it more when it melted a few minutes later. For food, I ordered the birria burrito "Jalisco style". It was delicious and filled with lots of toppings. The consome that came on the side was also super tasty and elevated the burrito, although I did find it very spicy. I also got to try the Al Pastor burrito, and I honestly enjoyed it a bit more just due to the flavor of the meat and found it slightly less spicy. At the end of the night we ordered some churros. I was a bit surprised that there were only 3 really small churros per order, which came with a caramel sauce squeeze bottle. I definitely wouldn't order these again since they didn't seem super fresh to me. The caramel also was a bit too much paired with the cinnamon sugar coating on the churros, but that's probably just a personal preference. Still, I'd love to come back here especially if I'm in the mood for a good burrito!

Yelp
Very great authentic food. The carne asada had great flavor. Great staff & service too.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't discovered this place earlier! Authentic, no frills Mexican food. Must must must haves are the birria tacos and churros. The birria was delectably tender, juicy and seasoned. Utter perfection. The churros were stuffed with dulce de leche AND came with additional dipping sauce. I really enjoyed the frozen mangonada to accompany the meal. The guac tasted fresh. The only disappointment of the night was the elote. Not as flavorful or well cooked as I would have liked. Pro tip: To use the bathroom, you get a mini behind-the-scenes tour through their back kitchen!

Yelp
My friends and I ordered takeout from Orale. I pass by this place all the time, but never visited until now. I assumed it was just counter service, but there is seating inside and the ambiance is really fun and colorful! Next time I would like to dine in to get the full experience. There were lots of big groups there ordering food and drinks alike. The staff we interacted with were busy, but took the time to provide us with extra sauces and were friendly and helpful overall. Everything we ordered was delicious. Anything with the word Birria in it was a star. We really enjoyed both the Birria Tacos and the Birria Torta. The portion sizes were pretty good and all our food was nicely seasoned. For Mexican food in Boston/Cambridge, I would say this place is pretty top tier!

Steve M.

Yelp
We were looking for a new place that would be great. We saw all the good reviews and tried it out. Food was ok. The service was terrible. The music was so loud we had to sit outside. We won't be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Hole in the wall vibe with some pretty darn delicious birria tacos, definitely going back!

Henry S.

Yelp
So many things to like about this place. I'll start with the staff - SO friendly and attentive and always quick to bring your food out, even when it's busy. The atmosphere is lively and fun. There's always music playing from the speakers and the whole place is decorated with bright painted walls and streamers. And the FOOD, oh my goodness! I'm determined to make my way through the whole menu because I've not once had something that didn't bring a smile to my face. The shrimp tacos and refried beans pupusas in particular are quite tasty indeed. Thank you Orale!
google avatar

Neha M.

Yelp
This place is a must try in Cambridge! I went inside for the first time and will definitely be coming back to sit inside. It's a fun place, music is blasting and perfect for a date night or a girls night out. There's a full bar and the menu is extensive. I got the veggie torta and it was amazing. The veggies were cooked to perfection and love the addition of pickiled onions. I wish the bread was a bit more toasted but regardless, it was a warm hefty bite. I ordered take out but the order came out within 10-15 minutes!

Steven D.

Yelp
Chicken Fajita chicken was dry and didn't seem fresh. The tortilla didn't seem fresh at all and each one broke apart (very frustrating) as soon as I rolled it before I could take a bite and I couldn't enjoy them...had to use my fork to eat most of it. I would think that means stale? Maybe these things are fresh at certain times of the day but this was not my experience. The staff was very nice.

Yelp
I wanted tacos and someone recommended this place so I decided to give it a try. I got the birria tacos (3 to an order) and 1 chicken taco just to taste. I will go back again for the birria taco, or better yet I want to try the birria ramen. The chicken taco wasn't anything to write home about, it was a little dry, when I think of tacos I think of cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream etc, it had none of that and if you wanted to add it cost extra money which made NO sense to me at all but 2 eaches own I guess. I also got the elote (corn) it was delicious, and the corn was nice and sweet..
google avatar

Willie R.

Yelp
I popped in here the other day when I had a craving for tacos. ORALE is tucked in a building that's somewhat easy to miss if you're biking down the street and don't notice the bright colors of the building. There was only a handful of people when I came in for lunch on Saturday. It's a fairly intimate dining area, and they take orders via iPad if you are getting table service. I ordered a chicken taco and steak taco. The chicken taco was pretty standard, albeit a little dry. The steak taco was also a bit dry for me and the meat was not tender but sort of tough. So, not in love with the tacos overall, but the spicy salsa was a nice addition to both of them. The cajeta churros (with an extra side of cajeta) were AWESOME--I could come back just to have those again. As with any actual Mexican restaurant, they had several flavors of Jarritos and I had my usual mandarin. Service was pretty friendly, so I'm rounding this 3.5 review up to a 4 for that reason.
google avatar

Gretchen B.

Yelp
I ordered take out last night and got the birria tacos with a side of rice and beans. It was delicious! I would love to return and try some other menu items.
google avatar

Yelp
10/10, absolutely delicious!! The food tasted amazing and came out so quick when I ordered to-go, but the interior was so cute and could also fit larger parties (though there is only one large table so you may have to wait if you have more people). There is a pretty extensive menu with lots of options, including churros (so yummy). I would 100% recommend and come again
google avatar

Yelp
got the jalisco style birria burrito!! tasted supa good even though i ate it when it was a bit cold. i recommend

Yelp
Absolutely the BEST birria tacos you will ever have. The taco shell was lightly toasted, the beef was juicy and tender; I was surprised but there was cheese at the bottom of the taco that was fresh and pulled apart. It added such a unique texture that worked well with all of the spices and savoriness. The consome broth was also flavorful and complemented the birria wonderfully. I also got their pescado taco, but this was not crafted as well as the fish fillet was not crispy and was missing a sauce. I will be back here if I ever want birria tacos again.
google avatar

Masmin P.

Yelp
Great little taco spot. Unassuming exterior belies the cheerful cosy dining room within. The birria and fried shrimp tacos are excellent, and the huevos rancheros was also satisfying. The churros are a must-have! Staff are friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Food is so delicious and well made. I've heard from Mexican friends that it's Authentic. And highly recommended by my teenagers. Prices are good. I'll post pictures. Waiters were so friendly and because it's so cozy even the chef came to greet us. Decor is really

Yelp
Uhhhh.... Hoy shit. I ordered seven burritos and an assload of sides for a large party, and when I asked for a rating out of five.... They all responded with numbers greater than five. The burritos are delicious, the corn is addictive, and the plantain deserts were a huge hit. Jesus Christ next time I'm in town I'm going to pay them a personal visit

Yelp
Another California native leaving a review for this place-- I have been searching for a good Mexican restaurant (comparable to what I can get in CA) in Boston. Don't get me wrong, Orale is very good and definitely comes close to what I am looking for, but I am still looking... I tried their birria tacos ($13.99 on Uber Eats) which came with 3 tacos. They were absolutely STUFFED with meat and cheese. I noticed that the tacos alone were underseasoned while the consomme was much saltier, so paired together it would have been perfect. The concept of birria tacos is to dip the taco in the consomme. Unfortunately the taco shells got kind of soft during delivery so the tacos would fall apart when I tried to dip them. I definitely want to try the birria tacos in person-- hopefully they will hold their shape. I got the jaliscos burrito ($11.50 on Uber Eats) with steak and added guac for $1.50. With rice, beans, cheese, meat, sour cream, pico de gallo, and guac, the burrito had all the components of a San Francisco "mission burrito" I was looking for. The burrito had a crispy fried layer of cheese on the outside and was drizzled in sauce. It was rolled nicely so that all the components were included in each bite. The burrito as a whole was flavorful and quite salty (much saltier than the birria tacos). I liked that the guac had mangoes in it. The portion was also pretty big so it could be split into two meals if you are not that hungry. Orale definitely hits the spot if you're craving CA-style Mexican food. However, I still felt that it was missing something (maybe I just need the Pacific ocean breeze and lots of people saying "hella"). Until I find a better spot, I'll be hitting up Orale for Mexican food!

Yelp
Nothing to write home about. Food was mid, service was fine, and ambiance was alright.
google avatar

Yelp
The Mexican restaurant provided a delightful experience with its friendly staff, delectable cuisine, and pleasant ambiance. I indulged in a Steak Asiago Traditional Burrito and accompanied it with a few Estrella Galicia beers, which were truly enjoyable. The flavors of the burrito were exceptional, making it the best I've ever had in Boston. The experience was so remarkable that I've already decided to return on my next visit to the city.

Dave O.

Yelp
This place is 100% real deal. Terrific Mexican food with some Guatemalen influences. Fantastc, homemade chips n salsa along with Salvadorian Papusas to start. We then enjoy flavorful Torta sandwhiches and a couple of burrito's. The staff is extremely friendly and hard working and take immense pride in the food they serve. The small restaurant has a nice vibe too. We highly recommend.

Yelp
Amazing food fresh! Workers were nice...drinks were so good! Paul was really nice he was the bartender and he took the time to explain things on what he made for our drinks and our food really helpful and great place with the music!

Brian M.

Yelp
Absolutely 11/10 went here to celebrate a friends birthday and requested if we can have a little surprise for her and they absolutely delivered! Staff was very friendly, accommodating, and food was the best Mexican food we've had out here in Boston. If you have the time to come by I would highly recommend!
google avatar

Areeba Z.

Yelp
This place is under reviewed! Always on the hunt for good, hot, takeout birria tacos! I ordered via Yelp delivery and my food came within 30 mins. The Birria tacos come with sauce on the side and lime wedges. The tacos were crispy on the outside and the tender meat have it a nice soft inside. The Birria sauce was well spiced. I got a single shrimp taco which disassembled during delivery, but still tasted really good. The crazy elote was so soft and sweet, very easy to eat. This place is decently priced and packed with flavours. It will not disappoint! I'll have to come back to try the crazy Birria Shrimp nachos!
google avatar

Taylor F.

Yelp
Roomie and I came here for a snack and split the elote and an Al pastor taco. The BEST and most authentic Mexican we've had in Boston, and probably the best taco we've had period. We can wait to come back and try the birria tacos!

Yelp
Flavors - 4.3 Textures - 4 Presentation - 3.5 Value for money - 4.3 Would return? Yes Must-try: Birria Tacos The birria tacos are one of the best in boston for sure - crispy, gooey, heavily spiced and good on its own. I have mixed feelings about the regular tacos because some were great and some were meh. The biggest complain is that the tortillas are store bought, but at least they had a nice char on the outside. In order of top to bottom: - The baconator was the best one here! The crispy but chewy bacon complemented the shrimp perfectly - and the slaw just enhanced it. - The steak asada had a very nice flavor and the steak was tender and saucy. - Al pastor was another great one. It had big chunks of pineapple that made it shine. - Shrimp Al Ajillo was interesting! The shrimp was breaded and fried which provides a crispy texture but it also overpowers the taco with breadiness. - The chicken and carnitas would be at the bottom for me because they were dry, but they did have good flavors. Prices were extremely fair here! PROtip: if you love carnitas get it with guacamole, it helps with the dryness and you can ask for it!

Brad R.

Yelp
Great selection and broad menu Only 4-5 tables so we lucked out not having to wait long. Friendly service As many Latin music dance videos for background entry as you can name.

T S.

Yelp
Terrible service with delivery - never confirms orders until hours late and have to call to ask them, refuses refunds even if the delivery services states the restaurant is 100% responsible, employees hang up on you when you try to ask for a manager, and so much more. They will incorrectly mark orders as picked up, then call you and say there isn't a driver because they took too long to make the food and that you have to come get it even if you paid for delivery. When we called back to ask about a refund, stated "your food will be there soon" then hung up and canceled our order. Food is great. Employees are rude and disrespectful, and refuse to get customers a chance for refund even though they mess up service. It's a shame.

Yelp
Great tacos and amazing elote! The staff was so friendly and the menu had so many things to choose from. I can't wait to go back and try more... even though I had one of every taco.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place and the delicious flavors they serve. Definitely great for the area and very convenient. I order in person to avoid a $3 convenience fee online. This isn't a cheap meal, but it's on par I guess.

Yelp
Really delicious and authentic Mexican food in Cambridge! I went for lunch last Friday and it hit the spot. I ordered the birria tacos and they were delicious. They really stuffed them, and the toppings included, cilantro, cheese, and red onion. The food came out hot, the service was quick, and the restaurant was decorated nicely. Don't sleep on the guacamole, this was seasoned perfectly!
google avatar

Maria E C.

Yelp
This restaurant has the most authentic tacos in Cambridge! Soft corn tortillas, amazing meat, topped with onion and cilantro plus salsa on the side. That's it! Their spicy margarita is delicious, and their churros with cajeta are also amazing. I've also had their outstanding Birria torta. Very small place, with a small kitchen and friendly staff. We've been twice here in one week. As a Mexican, I can't recommend enough for people that want to try authentic Mexican food. Plus the music is also great :)
google avatar

Kevin W.

Yelp
Super overpriced for very mediocre Mexican food. Inside was super messy and I would go as far as saying dirty. Super hot as well so wouldn't recommend on a hot day. Got the elote to start, nothing crazy about it. In fact I would say it was anything but crazy. Super expensive and they cheap out on the toppings as well. Same thing with the Horchata, For the price at least give me a full cup. To try more of their meats, we ordered 6 tacos. Most of them were terrible. A couple like the chorizo were passing but overall, the meats were poorly seasoned and overpriced for how bad the food was.

Annalee D.

Yelp
Trash and over priced. The carne asada was more like ground beef, doesn't make sense to me
google avatar

L H.

Yelp
Service was quick and staff was friendly. Food was fresh and I would try other items on their menu next time. I got three tacos, which were good overall, but the meat was on the dry side (great flavor) and quite salty. Think it would've tasted a lot better if there were more toppings/other flavors on the tacos to balance out the meat/saltiness of the meat. My favorite of the three tacos was the carnitas taco. The meat in this taco was the juiciest and tastiest out of the three. Loved the doubles up soft corn taco shells. Enjoyed the hot sauce that came with the tacos.

Yelp
ORALE is a quaint, small Mexican restaurant off the beaten path in Cambridge. The delightful hostess/waitress greeted my wife and me as we walked in, at 7:30 on a Monday night (after having some beers at Lamplighter). The place was clean and colorfully decorated. Some quiet Mexican pop music played on a small tv. We ordered the chicken nachos and they were delicious. (Pictured). Fresh sliced jalapeños, fresh, delicious guacamole. Perfect for a starter for two- or dinner for one. After that we had tacos... on the waitresses recommendation I got the Birria tacos, and they did not disappoint. The dipping sauce/broth was fantastic. Overall it was a great dinner- lovely place. Just one FYI, water is not complimentary- was 2$ a bottle.
google avatar

Carlos S.

Yelp
ORALE was fantastic all around. We made a reservation for 6:30 for a party of 11. Paul was very accommodating and friendly. Rosa, our server was just delightful and helpful. The food was some of the best we have had in the Boston area. Everything was resonantly priced. We will definitely will go back!

Yelp
Taste/Quality of Ingredients: 4.5/5 My girlfriend was craving birria tacos and I'm glad we found this place! The outer shells could have been a little crunchier but the meat was super tender and cheesy flavored. For Mexican food in Boston, this might be one of the top places. The burrito was yummy as well - the chunks of al pastor were really flavorful. Only ding is that the pupusa was mediocre - a bit hard and not very tasty. Price/Value: 4/5 I thought the burrito was a good price for what it was but the other things we got were a bit pricy for the quantity of food. Service/Atmosphere: NA we got pick up. They currently aren't doing dine in because they're doing construction even though it says they are on Yelp. Other: There's a nice park right by the restaurant if you want to take the food and do a picnic. That said, our lunch date got cut short because there was an ongoing police chase (multiple helicopters were involved!) for an armed man who robbed a nail salon and jacked a car...

Yelp
Amazing drinks, amazing churros, amazing vibes. This spot is a gem and the servers clearly want you to have a good time and enjoy your meal.
google avatar

Yelp
simple but fresh and a good portion size. the veggie mix was surprisingly colorful and i liked the addition of small pieces of broccoli. the chicken had great flavor too!
google avatar

Yelp
Have to try this place! I felt like eating Mexican food cooked at a friend's home! My only problem with this place is that it's not closer to where I live.
google avatar

Carl G.

Yelp
Food was very good. Service was great. Friendly atmosphere. Try the churros. Limited seating.
google avatar

Yesenia V.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much from the outside but this is a great hole in the wall restaurant. The menu has a few options outside of just tacos and even features salvadorian pupusas. I never thought I would find pupusas in the Boston area but these were so great. Lots of taco options, burritos, tortas and a selection of great natural juices. A friend got the birria tacos and really enjoyed them (they come 3 in an order). I ordered Al Pastor and Carnitas tacos and a beans and cheese pupusa. All was so great, the service was wonderful, you can tell they know what they're doing in the kitchen and definitely do it with love. A new favorite!

Bobby B.

Yelp
Affordable, delicious Mexican food, not too far from Inman square. The crazy elote will leave your mouth watering, and the tortas are HUGE... you will not the disappointed! I got the choriqueso torta, highly recommended.

Christopher G.

Yelp
ORALE is the real deal!! Gotta try this place. We live down the street and it's gonna be a real issue to not walk down for the birria tacos. Best tacos I've had in Boston. My girlfriend got the Tropical Shrimp tacos(best she's had) and we split a side of rice and beans and chips and guac and it was the perfect amount of food. Finally found some authentic Mexican food in Cambridge! Mojito was made perfect, not crazy sweet, very refreshing. Staff is great and very friendly. They make you feel right at home.

Boston B.

Yelp
Just walked into this place for the first time. Very tasty food reasonable and friendly service. Highly recommend it for a quick bite to eat , didn't get any of the drinks but they all looked impressive.
