"Acclaimed, creative thin-crust pizza spot ORD Pizzeria is currently closed at Ashland and Montrose and owner Daniel Bridge is looking to sell the restaurant “to someone who wishes to continue what we have started.” He wrote on Facebook that he made the decision due to “circumstances in my personal life” that have left him “unable to continue my life as the owner and operator of the pizzeria.” It’s been open for five years." - Daniel Gerzina

Google
Pizza was ok. Focus is more on sauce then cheese. I personally like a cheesy pizza, so it didn't hit the spot for me because of that. And crust was not that special. Pro: the single slice of pizza option is a pretty big slice.

Google
Delicious Brooklyn style pizza! High quality. Large slices. Friendly staff. BYOB. Brownies are amazing!

Google
Update : return trip to order a whole specialty pie (The Cliff). The crust was thicker and even better than the first time. Incredibly delicious. Will definitely be my go to spot when I'm looking for a fancier pizza pie. Primo pizza with a diverse selection of traditional and specialty toppings. Ordered a slice, New York style thin crust, fold in half style. Had the spinach, walnut, blue cheese, date, vinaigrette salad. Excellent. Interior is clean and very antique. Staff was super chill and very welcoming.

Google
So happy to have this new pizza place in the neighborhood. The wife and I ordered from here yesterday and we were both impressed with the crust and sauce of the Pizza. The crust was fluffy but not too crispy, and the crushed tomato sauce is proabbly one of the best I have tried. Delivery was quick, the driver was polite, and when I dropped in to the establishment earlier in the week the facilities looked clean and well managed. I am pretty sure this location has one of those old ovens in it special for pizza, so I am glad that ORD is making good use of it.

Google
My wife and I live nearby and stopped in for lunch. The place is nice with very friendly staff. The pizza is amazing. The cheese is flavorful and the crust crunchy, chewy, and tasty. They have craft bottled root beers and other sodas. Definitely my new favorite thin crust pizza and they deliver. I'm excited this place opened up in the area.

Google
Quite possibly the best, freshest pizza I have had in my five years living in Chicago. The thin crust has slightly spongy character but maintains its crispness without feeling like a cracker; the edges are only just slightly fire-charred, and their toppings are fresh and enticing. Two thumbs up.

Manuel Adduci Spina

Google
Definitely, the best pizza in Chicago. I mean, seriously: without a shadow of a doubt. Excellent crust, exquisite flavors, fine (art) ingredients, and very nice customer service. The ambience is fancy, but not hipster. And if that's not enough, good prices also. This is a MUST-GO. I need a sixth star.

Google
Great pizza! We were in from out of town and got out kiddos pizza one night. We sampled it and liked it well enough to order some for ourselves the next night! The salads we had were great as well. I’d gladly stop by if we’re in town again.

Adam J.

Yelp
Very nice service. They accommodated 8 of us very well in the small restaurant. Pizza was really good.

Christopher M.

Yelp
Too bad, I used to be cool with this place but about a week and a half ago, I put in an order. Was told it would be 30-40 minutes, waited, went down there. They said it wasn't ready. They asked me my name for my order several times. After ANOTHER 45 minutes, they said "they lost my order." HOW DO YOU LOSE MY ORDER WHEN I AM SITTING FIVE FEET FROM YOU AND YOU KEPT CHECKING IN WITH ME EVERY TEN MINUTES. They offered me a free side salad and said it'd be another 30 minutes! That would be TWO HOURS AND FIFTEEN MINUTES FOR A PICKUP ORDER. I said nah and made them refund me in front of me. Went home to split a side salad with four people. I was quite upset and couldn't shake it. There so later I called and left a message for the owner to call me about this. Never got a call. It's too bad because the pizzas really good but the customer service was absolutely atrocious.

Charles B.

Yelp
Outstanding pizza. Crust has a nice chew. Sauce is authentic and the cherry tomato toppings are sweet and delicious. Not overly salty like a lot of takeout pizza. Tastes homemade esp with the fresh mozzarella.

Ben N.

Yelp
We've had several wonderful deep-dish pizzas in Chicago over the years. But for whatever reason, the last few--including pizzas at stalwarts like Pequod's and the River North Malnati's--have been lackluster. This particular evening was working out to be a let's-stay-nearby-for-pizza night, and Crushed Pizza gets more positive Internet reviews for non-Chicago-style pizza than you can count. It deserves them. The pizza has crust of medium thickness in a bit of an East Coast style. It was terrific: sturdy, with great chew and good yeasty flavor. The best we can remember having in a long time. Toppings (mushroom and spinach on our half) were fresh and plentiful. Only complaint I can muster is that the sauce could use just a little more zing. Side salads--only five or six bucks if I recall correctly--were huge for the price and surprisingly good, although mine (the Charlie, with spinach, walnuts, fig, red onion, Gorgonzola) was heavy on the balsamic vinaigrette. Although Crushed has tables for dining in, it is very much a carry-out joint and doesn't have too much in the way of atmosphere. Our young server was pleasant enough, but we kinda got lost in the shuffle among all the folks standing around waiting on carryout orders. Also, no alcohol, at least not yet.

Christina H.

Yelp
I love this pizza! I have ordered many times and never a disappointment even when it shows up cold. Not their fault as they don't deliver to us and we have to order through a different party.

Kate M.

Yelp
First time visiting crushed pizza and I enjoyed it! We ordered for pickup and everything was still hot when we arrived about 30 minutes after placing the order. The interior is pretty small but there are a few tables and tv if you show up wanting to dine in. We ordered a half cheese half pepperoni pizza and the house crushed salad on the side. I typically don't love the salads at pizza restaurants, but this one was really fresh mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, freshly chopped basil, and a nice vinaigrette. I loved it and have enough left over to have for lunch tomorrow too! The pizza was tasty too. Although the crust is thick and crispy, center of the pizza is kind of floppy. While that isn't my favorite I know there are a lot of people who enjoy that. It's a good size, reasonably priced, and super flavorful! I can definitely see us ordering from here again.

Marisa H.

Yelp
They completely messed up my order and the quality of the food overall is poor. Will not be trying again.

Jeff G.

Yelp
This is my neighborhood go-to spot. Not sure how I have not left a review. It's a robust crust and the toppings are so flavorful. Get the victor salad. Yum.

Kathleen L.

Yelp
We used to LOVE this place. It was great pizza, and we kept ordering even though they literally almost ALWAYS forgot something on our delivery order. It was okay because they were super sorry and worked hard to make sure we were whole again. But last night, we got a pizza delivered and they forgot our two desserts. Fine, I called as soon as I saw they were missing to make sure we didn't pay for them. Whoever answered the phone was DEFINITELY not the owner because he was short and dismissive and instead of saying he was sorry, he just kept saying it wasn't his fault because he just got there. I wasn't mad, but expected the great customer service we used to get. The driver later called to say he would drop them off, but my ringer was off. That wasn't the point. The asshat on the phone who could have apologized and made things better was the point. Horrible customer service. Then we opened the pizza. FREEZING COLD and TERRIBLE. Literally, some of the worst pizza I've ever had. I'm not sure what happened to the place. What a shame. They were our go-to for pizza. Now, they are our "never again."

Emily B.

Yelp
Crust was amazing with just the right amount of bounce and crunch. (And no corn meal!) Topping amounts were perfect, though I wouldn't add more than two items to a pizza because it might get overloaded. Sauce was perfect and not too sweet. The free lava cake was amazing. This is my new go to when I need pizza.

Andre P.

Yelp
This has become a go-to for me and my girlfriend when we order pizza. Great tasting pizza and salads with quality ingredients. Plus, if you're looking for something sweet, their chocolate lava brownie is so good.

Kent S.

Yelp
They have the best pizza and salad delivery in North Center, Lake view, Ravenswood, Andersonville, and uptown. Not really a place to eat in, but is great pick up or delivery. Pizza travels well and everything is super consistent and the orders are always right! The service is friendly over the phone as well!

Solomon H.

Yelp
We got 2 pizzas and breadsticks and it was more than enough food for 4 people! Super yummy!!

Michael B.

Yelp
Sunday night, ordered, ready for pickup 30 minutes, delicious. Nice people. Blah blah blah 85 characters

Fantasia H.

Yelp
Pizza is incredible. I've had a hard time finding a pizza I like here in Chicago but this one is going to be my go to spot now!!

Liz C.

Yelp
First and foremost, this place has the NICEST staff!!! Kudos to this team who clearly work well together and go above and beyond to take care of their customers. We actually saw two or three different employees come out from behind the counter to open the door for people as they left with stacks of salads and pizza boxes. A close second is the absolutely incredible pizza that has an outstanding crispy bottom crust, perfectly flavored sauce (not too sweet), and an outer crust with just the right amount of chew. Our family got a half sausage and half pepperoni, and we couldn't stop commenting about how delicious every bite was. We will be back soon!!

Swap S.

Yelp
I wanted to love this, but mediocre at best. Claim of fresh ingredients did not come through ( maybe because I ordered on a Wednesday 5pm?). Crust too thick. Lacked seasoning ( ie. salt, pepper, anything). The brownie cake lava thing was weird. Trumped by good 'old Dominos' lava cake, quite honestly. Hate to say it because I want to support local, but Coalfire is a better version of this. Will not be ordering again, sadly.

Nina G.

Yelp
Great and tasty! Ordered the Les and it was a hit after moving all day! Will definitely be back to work my way through the menu.

Anthony P.

Yelp
Crushed is our go-to thin-crust take-out! The last few times we've ordered it's somehow gotten even better with a crispier crust and the meat toppings seem less greasy. Highly recommend giving Crushed a try!

Paul M.

Yelp
Crushed Pizzeria is one of my favorite pizza shops in Lakeview and I was truly blessed to live within walking distance from them. My favorite pizzas were the Louie and the Cliff. The sauce is very good and has a distinct tanginess. I am also a big fan of their crust because it's that perfect ratio for flat pizza where there's the right amount of doughiness/chewiness without feeling overly bready (very scientific, I know). Don't sleep on the desserts either--grab the chocolate brownie (which is more like a muffin shaped, lava cake) or the rice krispie treats.

meg r.

Yelp
Delicious! Have only ordered pickup or delivery, but this pizza is tasty! Always very fresh with great ingredients. Salads are amazing and very affordable. Have made this place a regular for Sunday pizza nights.

Raina W.

Yelp
Best pizza on the north side! Awesome crust and sauce! The Venus is my fav, but also love their cheese pizza with mushrooms and caramelized onions. If you love chocolate, treat yourself to their chocolate brownie!! It is super unique and decadent.

Bridget M.

Yelp
Really like this place! Popped in to pick up a pizza - took a little bit of time since I didn't order ahead, but wasn't a big deal and they gave me a chocolate brownie for free. The pizza was great - crispy crust, good sauce to cheese to toppings ratio, perfectly cooked. I would order from here again if I'm in the area!

Evelyn V.

Yelp
I ordered two pizzas for a party. As I finished my first slice, I bit into something hard. I pulled it out and it was some small piece of metal, like a deformed staple. I called the place and asked to be put on with worker's boss and he said he was too busy. It's obvious that the boss didn't believe me and assumed I was trying to pull a fast one or something. If I owned a food business, I'd want to know if one of the cooks was being irresponsible and unsafe. For the record, the pizza was tasty I was able to get a refund from GrubHub. However, literal metal in your food is a priority, so it doesn't matter if it's "never happened before". My friends or I could've been seriously injured and gone to the hospital. Overall good food but the boss is unprofessional.

Emily B.

Yelp
My favorite pizza in the city. Crazy how no one seems to talk about it. Love the margarita and my husband gets a pepperoni pizza.

B B.

Yelp
This has become one of our go-to places for pizza and we have not been disappointed. We love the crust and selection of toppings. Definitely a must try!

Anne M.

Yelp
I've been searching for YEARS for my "new" favorite pizza place. My old tried and trues have been going downhill for years, but I've never found a new pizzeria about which I could be passionate. This pizza is AMAZING. Hand tossed, crispy but not too crunchy, perfectly caramelized cheese... I got the ROSE specialty pizza and it was DELICIOUS. Even now, a week later, I am craving more. With a little pizza sauce on the side for dipping, it is PERFECTION. My partner got a standard 1/2 sausage + 1/2 pepperoni. He enjoyed his pizza as well. The brownie was AMAZING. It's not a normal brownie. It's a mini lava cake. The only thing I would say is that on their website, it advertises the pizza as being thin-crust. In my opinion, they are definitely more of hand-tossed pizza. SO delicious, SO mouth-watering. I will be a regular customer from now on. Cannot recommend enough, especially if you've been on the hunt for your "new favorite" pizzeria.

Rachel M.

Yelp
I can't help but echo all of the other east-coast biased pizza reviews. After telling my husband I just desperately wanted "normal pizza" (NY style hand tossed), he found Crushed Pizzeria on Yelp and it did not disappoint! Crust, sauce, cheese, and seasoning was exactly what I wanted. I only wish there were more mushrooms. We also split a spinach and fig salad that was very good! We will definitely be ordering from here again.

Denyce M.

Yelp
Someone said blink and you will miss this place. Yeah they are 100%. I know what the address is, but man I have no idea where it is. But I don't need to since they deliver. And deliver Crushed Pizzeria did. I ordered a Classic Margherita and a "Create Your Own" pizza. For the create your own, it was cool that they let me do a customize half and half: first half was sausage, roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella and mushrooms. The second half was Pepperoni and Spicy Capicola for The Queen. She and The Doctor loved it. I am not a fan of Pepperoni, so I didn't try it, but with the two meats on it, there was grease, but in a good way according to my loved one...drippy and delicious. I have to say the Crushed Pizza Sauce was amazing! It had a very fresh taste and wasn't sweet. I agree with Seema S's comment that the pizza would have been better with more toppings, but the flavors were great! I am not a big crust person, never have been. Crust is just a vehicle for holding all the good stuff I like on a neat pile. But I have to say the crust on the pizza was flavorful and eatable. which for me as a non-crust eating person is saying a lot. I am that person that cuts the end crust off of pizza before I even start eating it, but this crust was fresh, chewy at the end crust and aromatic. The rest of the base was very thin, but very good. We had some leftover pieces and I was wondering how well they would hold up the next day. The Doctor said that the crust was fine, not hard at all all. The thin parts of the crust were a little soft he said, but the flavor was still good. Delivery was quick and the person was very nice, and was most appreciative of the tip and the fact that I presented it in a sealed bag for him. Overall this was a most wonderful discovery for pizza and we will be ordering from them again.

Kristina B.

Yelp
The Rose pizza? Hands down one of my favorites in the city. Everything here is just done right. Quality ingredients and perfect crust. The chocolate brownie? Lights out.

Wojtek W.

Yelp
The Les with their Sriracha Ranch is unbelievably good and I'm willing to trade my 1991 Honda Accord for another order of it.

Pat V.

Yelp
I've eaten a lot of pizzas from all over the city, and Crushed has the BEST pizza in Chicago! It's perfectly balanced with cheese, sauce, and dough. Also, the delivery drivers are super fast and always friendly.

Theo D.

Yelp
OMG, I "discovered" this place about two months ago and I'm hooked! Forget Rosati's, Lou Malnati's. We've ordered from here at once every other week, its crazy and he haven't been able to get past our favorite, the Louie. The ingredients are piled on and fresh. They don't skimp on the toppings and the crust has that satisfying crunch I grew up with in NYC. This is the only place for us now. We just need to try the other specialty pizza's but the Louie with it's spicy capicola, sausage, pepperoni, red peppers, mushrooms and mozzarella are just heaven!

Amy R.

Yelp
Seriously good. I love Chicago style pizza (this isn't that) and only begrudgingly enjoy other styles (pequods comes to mind...I do like pequods) but I'll be back here regularly. So fresh, I bit right into a whole caraway seed. So well seasoned and the crust is not my usual but it's so delicious If it helps, my regular pizza are from Pete's or lavilla or bellonas (several others are in the rotation) ...mama Lunas for deep dish.

Regina P.

Yelp
This place is consistently good. Love their salads! Sometimes they'll sneak you a free brownie in your order. What's not to love?

Philip B.

Yelp
Perfect, delicious pizza! Whether you want a traditional pie or one of their signature pies - you will not be disappointed! Fast delivery, too! As a relocated east-coaster, it ticks all the boxes! This review could stop here, but it doesn't. The folks running it are THE NICEST people you could imagine. They are appreciative of your business and they tell you that. In 2021 that's huge. The delivery driver - almost always the same ones unless you order through a third party (Grubhub, PostMates, etc) - are so polite and will usually will throw in a, "good to see you again - thanks!" Do yourself a favor and order from Crushed - you won't be sorry.

Megan K.

Yelp
I have found some woodfired and Detroit-style pizza spots that I like, but I have NOT been able to find a delicious, basic, big-triangle-slice pie for the life of me... until I ordered Crushed this week. Just one order, and I'm tempted to give them 5 stars and certainly will if it's just as good next time I order... which I will. I built my own pie, as I just wanted a mushroom and cheese pizza. That's it. I was surprised that just one topping cost more than their specialties with multiple toppings, so maybe I'll try one of those next time. I was so pleased with the outcome. A pleasantly crispy, chewy crust, and all of the ingredients seemed fresh and high quality. Exactly what I've been looking for. What I hadn't been looking for but gave a try was the add-on garlic butter. I figured this would be like the chain spots garlic dipping sauce, but ya'll, it is so much more. It's creamy and has just enough flavor of roasted garlic without being too fatty or greasy. I used the first one to dip my pizza crusts, and I smartly ordered a second that I've been trying with everything that goes with butter and garlic, so like... everything? Can't wait to order again... My mouth is watering at the thought!

Sonali A.

Yelp
This was exactly what I wanted! The pizza arrived on time and hot. It tasted delicious and I will definitely order again!

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Delicious Pizza! I ordered the "Louie" and it was chocked full of yummy toppings. The 12' inch was perfect for 3 women. (2 slices each). We also had the "Victor" salad, which was good. (a bit heavy on the lettuce). So glad to to have a great Pizza in the neighborhood.

Drew M.

Yelp
So dissatisfied with their Venus pizza. They say on their website that all their pizzas are thin crust but this was almost as thick as deep dish. It was so greasy and expensive, I'll never go again. The only reason I didn't give 1 star is because the staff was nice.

Jeremy G.

Yelp
I believe this is by far the best pizza I have ever had. The quality ingredients make it excellent. I highly recommend this to everyone PS- order the TC

Seema S.

Yelp
We always walked by the place wanting to try their pizza by the slice but couldn't due to the pandemic. Today we walked in and were told they didn't have slices due to all that's going around and business being a little slow. So we ordered the 12" Make your own pie with 2 toppings. The pizza was good but would have been better with more toppings but no complaints! The base was fresh and fragrant. The crust was well roasted, crispy and crunchy even after being in the box for a good 20 min. 4/5 for the excellent pizza but 10 stars for the man behind the counter taking orders! :) I forgot to ask his name, but the old man behind the counter was so patient with our order and an absolute sweetheart. The time has been difficult on all of us and it's warming to see such people. If I had the money I'd buy 10 pizzas from him and leave a generous tip :) Overall a very decent place for pizza. I'd eat here any day over other chain of restaurants.

Paul G.

Yelp
It was difficult seeing ORD Pizzeria (previous restaurant in same location) close a while back as it had become a go-to for some great pizza. Drove by recently and saw a bustling crowd inside and was pleasantly surprised to see a restaurant in-business once again at this location. Stopped in and grabbed a menu, and soon discovered that while the name of the restaurant had changed, the menu was almost all the same as ORD. Maybe a few changes here and there, but overall a carbon copy. Ordered a 12" Les tonight which was one of my former standbys. A delicious combo of pepperoni, roasted garlic, white onion, pickled jalepeno, cremini mushrooms, mozzarella and sauce. While the ingredients are high quality and flavorful, the crust steals the show here. Great crunch, charred in spots for delightful flavor. I do hope this place can sustain. I am skeptical that the same menu in the same location can achieve different results, but I am here to support the local shop. The pizza is darn good. Hoping Crushed can add some additional combinations to the menu to give a new feeling to the restaurant.

Erik W.

Yelp
The best pizza in town! I definitely prefer getting carry-out to sitting-in. The Venus is our preferred pie and never disappoints.

Pam D.

Yelp
We ordered a pizza for delivery. The crust was burnt and hard. It gave the whole thing a bad flavor. From reading other reviews, it sounds like we might have just had an isolated bad experience, but it totally turned me off.

Tabitha S.

Yelp
Stumbled on this pizzeria on an evening walk and we are so thankful we did! We ordered a large pizza and a half house salad. They threw in an delicious chewy chocolate chip cookie for free when we picked up our food. Talk about luck! The salad was so fresh, you could smell the basil as soon as we opened the container. Our pizza was cooked to perfection! It had the perfect toppings, sauce, cheese and crust ratio. Every bite was delicious and we will be back for more. 100% recommend you give Crushed Pizzeria a try!

Holly F.

Yelp
IMHO, this is the best pizza on the north side! I love, love, love the crust! They use quality ingredients and the pizza choices are fun and inspired. That aside, the customer service is incredible. After UberEats delivered the wrong order, I called Crushed and they made another pie that was delivered within 35 min. Not only that, they included a mini chocolate cake with the message, "Chocolate makes everything better." Crushed Pizzeria makes everything better! Holly

Erik S.

Yelp
FINALLY!!! I have been looking for a good pizza for years and this - - THIS is it!! Delicious, crisp, crunchy crust. Toppings perfectly cooked so they don't slide off but rather are steadfast and stalwart, waiting on your slice while you nash! And did I mention the Garlic bread? No? Well let me enlighten you!! Imagine the best flatbread you've ever had with garlic and rosemary in a battle royal being refereed by butter where the winner gets to slap you in the taste buds. I'm gonna order from these guys once a week or so provided they keep the quality! They have seriously set the bar with this one.

Jessica P.

Yelp
Our family's favorite pizza and reasonably priced as well! If you like traditional hand tossed, NY style pizza then you won't be disappointed.
