Guh....I really hate to tell the world about my favorite little hiding spot but I sense the secret will be out sooner than later.
Ore Bar.
It's the place I come to hide in a corner, watch kung fu movies, drink amazing, crafty, pricey beer, chat with the bartender and NOT bump into anyone I know. It's my safe place. It just happen to become that place. But since, my friend DJ'd here a couple weeks ago...it's only a matter of time before the cat is out of the bag. Don't get me wrong. The crowd gets wild here late at night. I come for happy hour and attempt to leave before it's crazy. Most of the time I am successful.
The first time I came, it was a Friday. Dan was my bartender. (turns out he is also a talented musician and singer from local band "Honey") .

There were Charles Bronson flicks on back to back. They were projected on the projector screen against the large wall in the back. From the outside this place looks like divey, old man spot, It is not. It's actually very clean and spacious and I didn't see anyone over 40. There is also a nice little patio in the back. Perfect for the summer or the smoking crowd. I have returned many, many more times.
Honorable Beer Mention: Cigar City Jai Alai IPA
Only Food is Zapp's Chips: $2 Cajun Dill Gator Tators= A MUST (Thanks to the random girls who shared said chips with me one night. I never said I didn't talk to people)
Also check out Sage a few doors down to see Ky and David. Fridays are a fun night on this block.
