We went to Oregon with my wife and 2 friends in January 2025.
The atmosphere is great, beautiful decor, overall great vibe.
The food was okay but not great, too expensive for the quality and portions.
The service started well. Our waiter seemed knowledgeable of the food and the proper pairing of wine. But sometimes it's the smallest detail that makes or breaks a great restaurant.
Our friends asked the waitress for some croutons with their tuna "tartar looking dish" . And the waitress did say it doesn't come with it, but " no worries, I'll bring you some"
At the end of the evening, when the bill came, we noticed a 2$ charge for the croutons on a >300$ bill. I know it's only 2$, but we felt insulted. I asked the waiter if this is normal and if there is anything they could do, as it was not appropriated. He said no.
Another employee came to see us for the payment, "our waiter was busy". My wife asked, "Are you the manager?" and this gentleman said "I could be"... what kind of answer is this? And he was very rude and defensive, saying there is nothing free in life. All my wife wanted was for them to understand, if you will charge the client for minimal things like croutons, to let them know ahead.
0% good client experience skills when it came to a complaint. They are making it seem like a high-end restaurant, but they don't have the skills or the knowledge on how give top-notch service.
It's a shame. My wife and I will never re-visit this restaurant.
