Oregon City Brewing Company Opens a Book-Themed Beer Destination in Canby | Eater Portland

"Opened in late October in the former Canby Municipal Library building, this second location of the brewery invites bookworms and beer-lovers to congregate in a taproom that pours 51 taps, 45 of which are the brewery's beers and sodas. The adjacent food-cart pod has heated seating and houses seven carts — Adelina’s Mexican Food, Alani Mediterranean, Zula’s Tea & Coffee, Blessing Bites Fish & Chips, Church of Smoke BBQ, Poundtown Smashburgers, and Esan Thai — and patrons can purchase books from the Friends of the Canby Library as a tribute to the building’s former tenants. The taproom also features book-themed beer display boards and taster trays; the operator opened its original location in 2014." - Janey Wong

"Converting the former Canby Public Library, Oregon City Brewing will open the Canby Beer Library, a massive new taproom that will offer more than 40 beers, a barrel-aging program, new ciders, a rooftop patio, and a food hall filled with micro-restaurants; Oregon City Brewing was recently listed among the country’s top ten breweries by the U.S. Open Beer Championship." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Google
Dog friendly. 7 different food trucks to choose from and plenty of tasty beverages inside made by OC Brewing. Staff members are so friendly and attentive, the place is always clean despite how busy it stays. We love going on Tuesday nights for trivia at 7pm! Much love from Sandwich & fam.

This is my first time at this place and it was a big hit! We had a large party, with all the food, drink and seating options, this was an all around win for the whole crew. There were nearly 20 of us and we had a little of everything from each cart and the bar. The space is modern, spacious, well organized, CLEAN (even the bathrooms!), and very well laid out. Ample seating with big tables and some Adirondack chairs. My favorite foods were: Church of smoke: the brisket wrap was phenomenal. Alani: the lamb gyro was delicious, this cart had the best fries! Adelina's: juices were fun and guacamole was fresh! E-san Thai: Thai iced tea and Mango sticky rice dessert! I'll definitely return to this place. They had trivia going on inside and some nights - live music, so I'll try those nights out next time!

Tons of options. Mexican, Thai, Mediterranean, Brisket, Burgers, Boba and more. The tap-house and brewery has tons of solid brews. Great one stop shop for a group or family.

Google
This place is awesome. You have 7 different food carts. Everything is reasonably priced. The wait time is faster than I thought it would be on a Sunday at noon. The tables are all covered with heaters in the ceiling. Everyone's friendly, and the brewpub employees even remember my husband from yesterday.

Google
Amazing selection off beers and VERY well organized on the wall. Categories like "Hoppy", "Sours", "aged" etc. Selection 10/10 Staff 10/10 Taste 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Staff was absolutely fantastic, friendly, recommended us local places like the sunflower festival and helped us pick a tap based on our tastes 👌 The atmosphere inside is great and the covered area outside between the taproom and food trucks is spacious, high ceilings and no crazy loud when full. A great hidden gem of Canby ♥️

My family loves coming to the Beer Library! The trivia is great on Tuesdays. The beer is always cold and changes often so we can try all kinds. The staff is all super friendly and know in beer. Will let you try it before you get a big glass so you know what you are getting. Amazing!

Google
The Beer Library made for a wonderful lunch stop while passing through Canby. Just a couple of blocks off Rt 99E, visitors get a nice look at the downtown area while paying a visit. The drink menu above the bar has something for everyone - nicely organized by Light / Dark / Hoppy / Sour / Belgian / Barrel Aged, and more. Samples were greatly appreciated, making sure everyone got just what they wanted. The indoor space is a nice mix of customer seating and aging spaces for their beer casks. Music was at just the right volume for being entertaining without having to yell to make yourself heard. The building was formerly the home of the town's public library, and the hallway near the merch display has a delightful display of bric a brac that was found during demolition and renovation for the Beer Library. This place is a perfect anchor for a cart pod. Well worth seeking out.

Google
Amazing! Everything was great!!! 100% recommended if you’re around Canby with a group of friends with different tastes in food and beer or alone and in need of a quick bite and a good drink. Love how they have an NA (Non-alcoholic beers) selection too. The atmosphere is great. The music in the patio wasn’t too loud so you can have a conversation and enjoying a good time 🍻 🍲 🫶

Yelp
This was my first visit to the Canby Beer Library. I'm a fan of stout beers, especially the Irish variety; so the server gave me a sample of their One Horse Winch (Nitro), and it was perfect -- smooth, creamy, toasty, and very dry. Very similar to the big name Irish stout, but even smoother. The only downside was that when I went for a second glass, they were out of the nitro, so I had to get CO2. It was okay, but the fizziness, and distinct lack of body, just wasn't the same. Not worth marking down for -- I'll just arrive earlier next time. The layout of this location is very well thought out, with a choice several good food carts, and your choice of full indoor, or covered & heated outdoor seating. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Thank you! I am so excited to have food trucks in Canby! It's one of my favorite ways to eat with others! I love the options, the music, and overall atmosphere is wonderful. Location is perfect, making it near everything, easily accessible, and parking is pretty good as there is a lot of street parking and downtown parking available. The beer choice is huge, the trucks have delicious food, there's plenty of seating, and a park across the street. Loved my time here both alone and with family/friends. I love that there's often someone you know also eating there, and friendly faces and good vibes all around.

Yelp
Happy to have a place in Canby with amazing outdoor overhead heating and several food trucks on site. Great, kind staff. Being that a glass of local white blend wine is $9 and the Pinot noir is $11, it's a bit pricey, and the only wine choice for folks who don't drink either cider or beer. That would be something I'd like CBL to consider for sure. Plenty of on street parking, this place is great to chat with a group or simply stop in for a quick bite.
