Do you hate the environment? Well are we the school for you! Here at OSU we constantly brag about how environmentally friendly we are, while greenwashing our trash cans to make YOU seperate trash that we're going to lug all into the same dumpster anyway. Do you enjoy stealing bikes? We refuse to install any cameras near any bike racks even though our bike theft epidemic is only growing worse by the term. Do you enjoy water parks? Here at OSU, we know where we are, but refuse to use our $75.1 Million endowment to maintain our sidewalks or god forbid put in some rain covers anywhere. Or even give out the scholarships it was meant for! Do you love driving in circles for literally hours a day every single day, trying to find a parking spot. Well good news!! We haven't added new parking since 1959, even to our brand new madison apartments, as well as many other added buildings... But don't worry, we can still raise the rates on parking passes!! Better get a good bike lock. Do you love paying for apps. We at OSU love making you download 1,700 different apps to try and track down your homework. And best of all, almost none of them are free!! We pride ourselves on the fact that PPC is far better organized and we're almost as bad as the military. (Our Valley Library has coffee is even worse somehow.) But wait! That's not all, call now so I can tell you about all of our hidden fees, including 7 different fees for breathing. I'm sure this degree will pay off though.

The HDFS undergrad program online has been amazing. You can tell the teachers really care here and the online platform is set up really well. I went to a community college before this and the difference has been astronomical.

Awesome campus! Old world charm , walkable and even easy parking. Well integrated into the city. Common area buildings were immaculate and well maintained. Everyone we met was relaxed and enjoyed being there.

This University is incredibly unprofessional and points the finger to way too many different departments. I would like to specify that "Student Account Services" is by far the most unprofessional, unclear and difficult department I have dealt with in higher education as ECampus student. The supervisor whom I don't even recall their name was incredibly rude, told me I was incorrect and that my benefit (Guild) was the one incorrect with billing. Impossible to speak to an advisor and the worst UI I've ever dealt with.. causing me to be unable to drop Summer classes for a Fall registration hold and now I have to appeal 3 departments for financial aid, it is unfathomable. While this is rated the 4th best college for online learning! Just get a certification people - there's no shock less and less people want to attend college.

Great campus, great community, easy walking, safe campus and so many food choices

It's just one word. I want to say that Oregon has the best state and the best scenery in the state.

Rec center is awesome. Athletic programs are reasonably priced. Campus is wide open and easy to manage. Student store is nice too

Beautiful campus and everything within a good range for students to handle their affairs.

I did the online option for this school. Was not a good experience for the most part. Most teachers are horrible and do not care to teach. Don't even get me started on the advisors in the psychology department - horrible!!!! Which brings me to the registrar office. Do not ask them for any help, because apparently, they get paid to do absolutely nothing! My teachers were non-existent for some classes and did not post grades by the deadlines. Instead of receiving any help from any of these so-called resources, I had to send emails to everyone I could possibly find emails for and hope I would actually answer me and point me in some direction for help. Do not waste your money and go to a school where you will actually get an education and have help when needed.

Lovely university with lot of pretty red brick buildings, it's pretty in the fall with foliage of all colors. People are friendly here, but it's a bit of boring place without much things to see or visit.

A very nice campus and friendly people working here. Came for Beaver Day so my kiddo could have all the information needed to make a college decision. It was a well organized day with lots of helpful information.

Oregon State University for many majors is the top university in Oregon! It certainly has the most beautiful campus. It has the old brick classic Quad, outdoor seating areas and lawns for study. The Veterinary school and Engineering school is top notch. Linus Pauling Institute is here, as well as his worldly collection which is in the main library upstairs.

Went to a Beavers game. The campus is nice. Cool people, except for the security guard complaining that we chose to stand vs sit in our seated area. Whatever. The Beavers beat Washington which really isn't that great of a school but hey, a w is a w. 4 stars because I'm totally an ASU alum. Fear the fork, but since I'm reviewing here go Beavs!

I graduated 30 years ago from OSU. Today, I found out I had a $19 outstanding fee, apparently, for my diploma being mailed to me. I've lived in this area for most of the last 30 years, and never have I heard anything from OSU about an outstanding bill. My address remained the same as when I was at college for the next 10 years. After 30 years... I don't have records to prove I paid it either. Now I'm paying more fees for something I knew nothing about, and of course, it came out of our OR refund check. Way to piss off your alumni OSU. No donations are coming your way, ever.

OSU-Cascades, Oregon State University's low-residency MFA program is the worst writing program in the infinite-verse. Only waste your money going there if you want to spend the next 10-years in therapy after you attend one writing workshop. Everyone is an amateur, including the professors. The biggest incompetent person of them all is your program manager. So enjoying learning how to be a terrible writer and doing it under the guidance of an incompetent person. It is a great program if you like wasting money, not learning how to write, and leaving with problems that require a therapist to sort out but still haunt you for the rest of your life. Amateurs.

I enrolled in an online class weeks before it began. Some time later I start getting bills in the mail without an explanation of what they are for. I called and it turns out it was a late registration fee. Again, I enrolled well before the start date of the class. It seems like they only care about $$$$

Oregon state university campus is amazing. Very friendly and easy to get around. Gill Coliseum is old school for basketball so you are close to the court and close to the action.

My son is a current sophomore who loves the town, teachers great, classes above and beyond, loves being involved on campus, always something to do, and when we visited so impressed by campus, and loved Reser stadium. Sko Beavs!

I checked in here the other day. I've always been a Beaver fan. My Dad graduated from here. My daughter went here. I was born in Oregon. I went to my first college football game here. I've always loved visiting and have always had a wonderful time. Great University.

We took our high school students to the UW OSU game and did a tour of the campus. The people at the gym gave us an impromptu tour and were totally accommodating. We did the self tour for the rest of the campus.... which is beautiful. The gym is seriously impressive.. the climbing wall puts planet granite back home to shame.... the gym also employs over 300 students (work study anyone) and has a judo club which won over one of my juniors. Funny note: A grandmother mean mugging one of my high school students for wearing Ducks attire *waits for angry mob* People are serious about their football (aka tailgating and drinking before most raider fans are out of bed.. yes such a thing exists in the world). At the tail end of our Northwest tour our students thoroughly enjoyed the game (and the dad doing the kung fu fighting dance)... I wish I had explored more out of state options during high school.. there are actually a bunch of norcalers hanging out in Oregon... I highly recommended checking out the schools up north!

Did the tour today & the school grounds & surrounding property are just gorgous... Seems like an excellent place to get an education. The tour guides are very energetic,informative & enthuastic

This is everything education should not be. I have made the dwans list three times and committed 3500 hours of study for a degree in crop production. I am now no better prepared than I was 2.5 years and $80.000 ago. This is a blaten scam with no regard for the betterment of future generations. This school is the qualitative equivalent of Phoenix online. You may get a degree but you will not get an education.

Their ways have changed. Great campus, beautiful buildings, scenery and it is growing drastically. As a student, some professors care about what they teach, but most are in it for the research they get to do in addition to teaching. The few that recognize their impact go above and beyond, including hosting student dinners. However the university's admin and morale has been lost! ASOSU (as of now) is failing the students and the president does not represent the student body or fight for student rights. Admin continues to do as they please despite the obvious votes against their choices. Smoking is no longer allowed on campus however, all of the bordering streets to the campus have become walls of smoke to get to campus. The worst dept to deal with is the writing and English dept.(which EVERYONE has to deal with) Not just because they treat every class like high school but because even if you miss a class for surgery or lose a friend or family member they will not allow anyone to receive incomplete or make up a class as required by OSU unless you are an athlete. It is the only school with all three grants. However, you have to know how to get your own benefit from it or it won't matter. There are endless services offered that including the gym, CAPS, ASOSU Law, craft center etc that you pay for in "fees" and are considered free to use if you know about them. Greek life is a huge impact on campus, not for the best but they will forever argue moot points. Corvallis has been ranked the 5th in the nation of college towns to live in, and there are plenty of Eco friendly and bike friendly aspects to Corvallis. The people in Corvallis are typically more genuine and kind than the evil counter parts further south. If it were based on the campus and people alone it would be 5 stars hands down, however the school aspects average 5 out to be 2 stars.

Tried to get into an extension class. First the online registration sent my application to Portland instead of Eugene, which I SPECIFICALLY requested. Then I emailed the local class leader. She forwarded my application to the extension office. Three weeks later, I went into the office to verify it was received and was asked to fill out the application for a third time. They never bothered to call me to tell me I needed to fill out in person. I guess I should have known they didn't want me then. Then they interviewed all the applicants and less than a week before the class (5 days before), they notified everyone of acceptance or rejection. Not a lot of time to organize your life. I guess they only want retired people with nothing else to do, not middle aged people with jobs and lives. Seriously not well put together. And short sighted.

On my recent trip up to see the gf, I finally got to check out campus and a few different buildings. This place is HUGE!!!!! Since i go to school in SF the colleges are not as big and OSU really has that college feel to it. The MU (student union area) is very nice and has a gun club or country club feel to it. When you first enter and walk up those stairs it reminds me of entering City Hall because of the wide space and the huge stairs! There are alot of trees and grassy areas and when it is sunny you can see alot of people out chillin on the grass, climbing trees and playing Frisbee This next part of my review is for Dixon recreational center. This is OSU's gym per say. This place is amazing! We we walked in the first thing i saw was that they had indoor rock climbing! :D I still need to try this!!! Since i went with Marie it was 6 bucks to get in. Considering I go to YMCA in the city, Dixon was like 5 or 6 times bigger!! :O They had two weight rooms which were filled with many machines and weight equipment, they have two cardio areas!, many basketball courts, a yoga/studio area and many specialized rooms for other different sports. They even have a heavy bag!!! F@#K yes! sadly i wasn't able to use the heavy bag because they were having a class in there :( BIG SAD FACE. A plus is that they have several of the same weight equipment. No slacking dudes! I was impressed that they had their own little smoothie shop that also sold power bars and other workout drinks. After working out hard I just had to get a smoothie. Got me a Hawaiian Passion smoothie adding in a scoop of Whey Protein! This was a good shake for 4 bucks + 1 for the scoop of protein, althought by adding in the protein, i think it altered the taste of the smoothie but oh well it was still delicious. The only issue i had was that i had a good amount of white dudes kinda muggin at me! wth man never seeen an Asian guy workout hard! DAyum! Don't hate!I I am hardcore, working out even when i was technically up here to chillax. One thing i don't get is their slogan: Powered by Orange. Imma sorry but it really sounds like a rip off of a Gatorade commercial. lols Awesome campus! Go Beavers!!!!

ADMISSIONS OFFICE This is only pertaining to the admissions office. I have had multiple conversations with them over the past six months and have left their office crying TWICE. Every answer I get is a "don't know and don't care to find out". They are rude and extremely unhelpful. I was even told by one of them I was not allowed to make an appointment with anyone at the school until I was officially admitted as a student.

OSU was great. I graduated in 1999. I definitely got what I paid for, as far as education goes. As for my degree helping me get a really nice-paying job...that's another story. If you graduate from OSU, you should probably think about packing up and moving south, or to the east coast, if you want a really good job. The offers I got in Oregon were, in a word, terrible. I worked in Portland for 3 years after graduating and then actually went back to OSU for more school for a year or so before moving to Los Angeles. The instructional faculty at OSU was generally 'very good to excellent'. There was only one instructor I had who was downright bad (Biochemistry instructor who was indeed so bad that they did not let him teach again after he wrecked our course), and another few who had the 'weed-out' mentality. The lady who handled the undergrad Biology program for awhile in the late 90s and early 2000s set up the 200-level biology courses so that only about 5% of students got A's in the courses. I thought that was terrible. They later fired her I think. The campus was great. They were remodeling the library in 1996-97 and I remember that very well. I was disappointed in the finished product though. It just seemed 'cheaply done'. The study rooms were not soundproofed and they set up some really strict rules about returning the keycards (if you forgot to return it and brought it back the next day, it still cost you $10...BOOOO) I stayed in Poling Hall for a year before moving off campus the next year to my own apartment. That was right before they started doing renovations of the dorms and Poling was definitely a dive. But whaddya expect, freshmen and sophomores are the ones who live on campus and they're still basically "kids". But it didn't help that I had over $100 worth of Levi's stolen from the laundry room that year. OSU did not ever seem to be short on money. The courses I took for my major program (lab courses) had all the required equipment and most of the departments clearly had very nice budgets that allowed them to do whatever they needed. Places to eat on campus - hopefully it's better nowadays. It wasn't real good when I was there and I usually ate off campus. They had BK (yuck), Taco Bell (yuck) which was later replaced by Woodstocks (GREAT!!), Panda Express (yuck), Blimpies (mehhh), a pricey sit-down restaurant called Pangea (not sure if it's still there or not), plus the dining halls (the food they served was not really edible but hopefully they've improved it.) Plenty of great places to go eat off campus though. My favorites were the East Ocean Buffet and also the Crazy Bun and Bagel Sphere on Monroe Ave. (all are gone now). If I had it to do over again, I'd definitely choose OSU. But I'd have taken more of a variety of courses. I just concentrated on my major program and that was it. I started my education at Portland State University (bad school) and transferred to OSU. That was a good decision.

The campus is absolutely picturesque, and it may sound sappy, but their recent ad campaign is right on: it does feel like home. Overall, my time spent here was very enjoyable, and the education I received was top notch, although I'm still coughing up payments for student loans over 10 years later. OSU has many good programs. Among them are the following (that I have had direct experience with, or have known people who matriculated here): Engineering Agriculture Forestry Veterinary Oceanography Computer Science In sports, OSU recently won the NCAA Championship in baseball - twice. While the basketball program is struggling, and the football program seems to be having a relapse, there are other fine sports traditions here such as wrestling, and gymnastics. If you decide to enroll here, be sure to sign up for at least one of the many sports clubs. There's everything from rugby to fencing. Go Beavs!

This school is a freaking shit show. THEY CARE ABOUT MONEY MORE THAN YOU. Isolated town that's not even worth it. Airport is about 1.30hrs away (if not more when there's traffic - NOT CONVENIENT). Most of the buildings in town are old as fuck and very ugly. NO NIGHTLIFE, house parties are mediocre.. only about 2 clubs (again, shit). Nothing to fucking do here, if you're looking to come here from outer state, or even out of the country - DO NOT FUCKING DO IT. Administration is garbage, education is okay, cops are out to get you (be safe, ride a bike - I don't really blame them there isn't much to do..except you), housing here is shit (the retreat is the only one that's decent). NO GOOD PARKING, but when you do find parking, remember that the campus parking dudes breathe out tickets instead of co2 so remember not to be 2 seconds late. ALSO: THEY USE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS FOR MONEY, that's seriously their main source of income, ask professors and international students..the stories you'll hear are both sad and funny at the same time.. (STAY AWAY FROM THE INTO PROGRAM IF YOU'RE INTERNATIONAL)

This review is for the campus of the university, not the academia. We visited OSU with our son, who is a junior in high school. As long-time Duck fans, we were prepared to not like it! WE LOVED IT!! The day we visited was a beautiful, warm, spring day, with everything starting to bloom. It was the first day of classes following spring break and everyone seemed to be in high spirits. The campus is gorgeous, with many beautiful old buildings, as well as many new ones. Gorgeous old trees and a great ambiance on this campus. We were especially impressed by their new science facility and by the sports faciilities. You can tell that a lot of money has been put into this school in recent years---I was surprised to hear that it has the most students out of any Oregon university. The academic achievements of the school impressed us. The dorms that we visited were typical. We were surprised by the good food at the campus restaurants. Needless to say, we won't be disappointed if our son becomes a BEAVER!!

In my experience, the academic advisors made mistakes and signed me up for classes that were a waste of time (meaning did not count toward my major). My advice is to make appointments with multiple counselors within your department and you might have to do a lot of research before making any type of decision at OSU. There is a lot they don't tell you, or expect you to find out online. For example, research your scholarship requirements instead of asking those who work on the Financial Aid Committee. Not to offend the athletes or military, but you probably want to avoid Finley Hall unless you have an impressive amount of arm strength. If you're little, you won't be included by the ROTC or athletes who are encouraged to live on that dorm.

I'm entering my 5th year here and I haven't hated it here since I moved into the Finley dorms, 5 years ago. I love this school. Pac-10. Good education and the people as a whole are great. I LOVE the campus scenery. Combination of the modern and the classical feel makes this campus even more comfortable. Although it does have stereotypical feel with the Greek life and NCAA student athletes but you end up either worshipping them or blowing them off. Whichever you'd like. I tend to think these athletes are given a privilege we normal students probably won't ever experience. Oh well. This school is more diverse than those on the outside would think. Yes the Caucasian population is dominant but you see a lot of different people from different backgrounds roaming the campus, labs, lecture halls, and in the MU. Football games are insane here. Well it could be worse I guess. Our mens basketball coach is President Obama's brother-in-law. Our gymnastics team is almost always nationally ranked. Our baseball team is the BackToBack National Champs. Overall this is a great school for the full on college experience. :) Corvallis is a small town but it has quite a bit to offer for a little college town but when you find the right group of people you will always want to be around you'll be good to go :)

Oregon State University is an OK place in an OK part of the Willamette Valley. It's midway between the semi-rural hippies of Eugene&the metropolitan hipsters of Portland. It's a good place to go for summer&supplemental classes of you're in middle/high school/college. They have an underrated mathematics department. OSU is mainly an ag school, with some focus on geology. It's a place where cow tipping is a thing... and they have their own sheep fields&experimental forests. The Olmsted Brothers, related to the Frederick Law Olmsted who designed NYC's Central Park, were the architects/designers behind the OSU campus- http://oregonstate.edu/ua/ncs/archives/2008/sep/national-historic-district-approved-oregon-state-university There are notable buildings like Waldo Hall, the oldest Benton Hall, the California-style Coed Cottage, the monumental Memorial Union, and the spectacular Weatherford Hall. Weatherford Hall was a haunting place. It was built in the 1920s. For awhile, students were allowed to architecturally alter/paint/decorate their dorm rooms as they wished. Then it was abandoned. I remembered gazing thru the windows into the abandoned dorm, beholding the faded art, the crumbling building- it was eerie. No wonder I watch urban exploration videos. However, it's been recently restored&reopened, and its image was used for a foodie blog- http://www.thecollaboreat.com/oregon-state-university-food-guide/ With Trump's recent election, Oregon State has now offered counseling and "safe spaces", and of course- http://www.gazettetimes.com/news/local/osu-offers-post-election-counseling/article_6771d780-1f9c-575d-b5df-374f8284cd6f.html Oregon State didn't use to be that much of a political college. I remember the Jesse Jackson rally at the stadium, back when he was campaigning to be POTUS and when Anita Hill came to speak. It was political then, but not as hyper-sensitive as it is now. Oregon State provides a snapshot of moments in time. Still a fascinating, beautiful campus with a wonderful bookstore/souvenir shop... even an OK food court.

Doesn't even deserve one star. This school has been nothing but hell since the day I started the process. I am currently enrolled in a full time university, but an taking a semester off to co-op and get some real world work experience. I was taking an online to get ahead in my program for when I return to school. To start off with the admissions office directed me to the graduate online application, which I didn't know at the time. It looked normal to me and I filled it out and paid the application fee finding out the next day it was the wrong one through an email saying they cancelled my application, ate my money and they would not refund me. I then had to fill out the right application as an undergraduate and pay another admissions fee. My plan was to apply as an undergraduate non degree student and only take one course here. Even due to my status, I still had to complete an online orientation and a drug and alcohol program before I could even resister for my class. Please note this is a 4 semester school which I was never told by admissions either, so I had to apply for a 3rd time to change my application. This admissions office was not helpful and pointed me in the wrong direction multiple times. Even due to all of this trouble, I still decided to take ENGR 213 Strengths of Materials with Mark McGuire. I was in the process of moving during the start of this class and then unexpectedly got sick with serve strep throat pulling me out of my first week of work at my job. I emailed Mark McGuire (professor) explaining the situation to ask for an homework extension and his response was: "I'm sorry, but only in cases of emergency can I extend a homework deadline. In order to be fair to other students in the class, I cannot grant your request. Thanks for understanding." I believe my case would fix under an emergency circumstance. I have taken many online classes over the summers in the past and I have never had an issue moving an assignment. If this is the way this school wants to treat their students, I will 100% be withdrawing from this course and will never take anything here moving forward. The only good thing is that they let you take a class for a month before paying so I am not out to much money.

Do not read the reviews for fabricated campus tours; read the reviews from the actual students and faculty who live on campus! I live in the ILLC which is the newest hall on campus and my experience has been nothing but disappointing. Just to take my trash out I have to walk practically across the quad, which is really hard to do in the weather. The dining halls close extremely early for students who have to study or work late. There food options are very repetitive and of low quality. As many of the other reviews point out, the university, along with UHDS cares more about money and keeping up looks than the well being of the students. I am extremely disappointed in my experience here only after one term, and I cannot move off campus due to the first year on campus requirement, which is another money scam. Go to UO.

Everything you read about too expensive and the focus on getting your money is true. The financial aid department and the VA office are either completely incompetent or intentionally misleading. My story is too long to bore you with. I am a veteran who sent his daughter to this school. She called home crying ever couple of weeks, not because school was tough, but because the administration was creating such a stressful environment. Do not waste you money here. The education is nothing special but the bill is similar to NYU.

We stopped by on our summer college tour eager to learn what it offered. It's a beautiful campus with older architecture. It is a highly esteemed research university. It has seven dedicated cultural centers celebrating and serving its diverse population. It, like many public schools, has an honors college which allows high achieving students to flourish in smaller classes and receive an additional advisor. Found out if you declare yourself a premed major, you'll receive mentorship from an additional advisor. Beautiful campus with a strong sense of school spirit. Go Beavers!

I love almost everything about this school, except for the administration. Pros: -Beautiful campus that truly changes every season -In-state tuition is typical, but the student gov't has been working to keep rates down -Most professors are really great and inspirational, and genuinely want to help students succeed and progress in their education -Dixon Recreation Center (the gym) is by far the best gym I have ever been a part of. They update equipment every summer, replace broken equipment quickly, provide clean towels and spray bottles in every room, and have so many different options to choose from -The library has multiple floors with different levels of noise. If you are looking to study in complete silence, go to the top "silent" floor. If you want to work with a group, sign up for a group room or use one of the lower levels. -Game days are always fun just because of the student atmosphere, even if you aren't a sports person -The MU has several new food options that are worth checking out -There is currently a lot of construction going on around campus, which I guess is a bit of a con, but the new buildings that have been completed are absolutely gorgeous and really improve upon the older and outdated buildings that were there before. -They have little markets that are perfect for grabbing snacks on your way to class Cons: -The administration is my biggest issue here. The Financial Aid office is always a stressful place to have to go. The receptionists are rude and impatient, and you leave wanting to either cry or punch a wall. -Parking passes have been an issue at this school the entire time I've been here. They seem to change the prices and the way it works every year, and they still have yet to figure out a plan that works for everyone. -UHDS is a failing aspect of this school. Living on dorms should be a go-to option, but it's really inconvenient here. When the school is closed (like when winter storms happen), they shut down the dining halls and have limited food choices. This means you might have to travel far to get to the one open dining hall during specific hours, or if you have food restrictions, it might mean you have to travel even further off campus to get something you can actually eat.

Specifically the veterinary school there. I called them hoping they could help/offer a new idea regarding my dog. Someone called back after the vet reviewed the files, they said they couldn't do anything more. That's okay but I heard another voice in the background snicker and say "he should put the the s**t thing down". They are crude and heartless.

Amazing college. Not just good for education, but for social life. But it's getting quite expensive to live here. My suggestion is to go to the near community college (like LBCC or WOSC) for the first two years. Take all your electives and freshman/sophomore classes. Then transfer here for your junior/senior. You won't miss a thing.

Normally, I won't review a school, but this school has been said to be one of the top online schools. If this is top of the line, I'd like to see bad. Teachers are never in class. They merely assign poorly designed assignments and leave it to the student to sift through tons of material, which is outdated. I actually pay more to go to Ecampus for substandard classes, where I have to teach myself. My parents are teachers, and teachers are supposed to do lectures on video. I find it unacceptable that OSU permits its teachers to use PowerPoint and outdated electronic files for class. We have to write a lot, and it's expected to be on time. However, the teachers I've had, except John Larison, simply didn't participate at all. He had video lectures. I don't have a choice other than to stay. I've received bad advice on classes, which wouldn't have counted toward my degree at all! I also had to fight to find out about foreign language requirements on my BA. All people either didn't know or were wrong. Only one adviser got this right. And he doesn't advise Ecampus students. If you are two years in, find a different university to transfer to, even if online. Maybe PSU has a bigger variety of classes now in Ecampus. If you are in community college, which I suggest first, get science, math, and requirements out of the way. Spanish can be taken p/np, but it is required for my BA in sociology. 6 terms, 1st and 2nd year. I'd go running from the school. I have a 4.0 also, so it's not like I am an student that slacks off. I'm sick of the snobby university attitude and ineptitude. I shouldn't have to tell them what classes transfer. Annoying!

Admissions is the best department. Best service and nicest people! OSU is the best university in Oregon. Go beavs!

I just came for a conference. Parking without a permit for a visitor was kind of pain in the neck, but it was dark and I refused to ask anyone. Campus has lighted maps on the street corners so I could find my way to Milam Hall. Very impressive Inter mural fields which were well lit and full of students. If i had to choose a large university, this one would be on my list. Pretty impressed frankly.

I came to OSU for grad school after attending UC Davis. I give my rating based upon non-academic features, as those are well documented and are major/program specific (see US-News and Report). The campus is beautiful, the people are very nice, and town is adorable and perfect for a college experience. Highly recommended.

The campus is beautiful and offers that "college" feeling. They are constantly upgrading the campus, providing students with amazing buildings and learning environments. Most of the faculty are nice and helpful. Getting a ticket for football games is difficult if you're not a freshmen or sophomore, they seem to have all the time in the world to camp out and grab tickets.

I'm writing this review to give others a helpful insight on my disappointing experience with this University as a Veteran of the Armed Forces and 100% education benefits {Post-9/11 GI Bill} college recipient. I applied as a full time student for the fall semester B.S. in Horticulture with a dual degree in Sustainability. I was proactive in meeting all their requirements months in advance. My issue is I couldn't register for my classes for 4 weeks due to the incompetence of my academic advisor {who also has your PIN# to resister per/semester}. I was left with unanswered emails, repeated cancelled appointments, no return phone calls, or any correspondence from my advisor. I wasn't asking for my hands to be held, as I was a Senior NCO in the military, but you are completely left independently to your devices. The academic advisor has zero regards in the success of your future and has committed little if any advisor-student interaction. She was unreliable in answering any questions or re-scheduling appointments she had cancelled. I'm completley dissatisfied with her being the ONLY advisor for the ECampus Horticulture students. She has failed professionally in advising me with my future aspirations, education abilities, academic pursuits, and a most importantly a degree plan. I am fully aware that this is NOT the right college for me. In closing, I did elevate my complaint with the chain of command in writing to the Dean/Director College of Agriculture, only to have my email returned to the advisor to finally contact me. I received absolutely NO response from the school to rectify the situation. I would not recommend this school to others or my Brother/Sister in Arms. I deployed 3 tours to Iraq and served my country honorably-this school is not worthy of my hard earned monetary GI Bill.

This college is amazing. I turned in my paper work a little bit late and I was amazed at how fast they proccessed and excepted my application. The staff is so supportive and on it, if you know what I mean. I have recieved calls the same day a I place them and there staff is so nice. The cost is a little high but normal for a university it cost about 24000 annual and I think it is definately worth it. Thank you OSU!!

My childhood friend, as an international student, came here to get his Masters degree, so I and my gf stopped by here to help him settle in. The university is what Corvallis is all about. It's in the middle of nowhere, but that's good for study. All of the people we met in town were extremely friendly! I couldn't believe it. The campus was very beautiful and looked very new.

Although the campus is beautiful with its red brick buildings, the school itself is a disaster. From my experience as a recent graduate (winter 2015), the school is getting too big and the departments can not handle the large amount of students. Personally, I kept falling through the cracks and could never get adequate help from my advisors. Also, the expenses to attend this public university is outrageous. Freshman HAVE to live in the dorms for their first year, which is not unusual in itself, but the dorms are tiny, old rooms you share with another person for around $10,000. The worst experience I have had is with OSU's billing department. I graduated with debt, like most college students these days, and received an email 3 weeks later stating I had one week to pay my bill in FULL or else I would be sent to the collections department. I called asking if their was any way they could work with me and make a payment plan, but their idea of a payment plan consisted of me paying $450 a month until my account was paid. This was the best plan they could offer me. The research opportunities at OSU are fantastic and I have had some great professors, but the negatives definitely outweigh the positives at this school. My younger brother applied and got into OSU, but found out it was significantly cheaper for him to attend ASU, Boise, or Montana State. I would suggest checking out those schools first.

The campus is cool, the people are nice...but...the administration isn't the best at times handling student issuesbut like most schools there is a high demand now for education and I don't think most administrations can keep up with the new rush of EVERYONE going BACK TO SCHOOL because of bad economy and people changing jobs therefore having to enroll in more education courses. They've been so slow on getting me information and I am trying to qualify for instate tuition and they haven't been helpful-obviously they want me and my out-of-state tuition that i will have to be paying back for the rest of my life LOL

I was accepted into an online graduate certificate program and completed my first course with an A. The course was not taught by OSU faculty. The instructor did not have a PhD. For a graduate course. The information I learned came from reading the book. The instructor might as well have been asleep. I moved on to the next course in the series, also taught by a non OSU instructor who didn't even hold a degree in the subject matter. That instructor told ME I lacked the credentials to be in the program. I dropped the class, $3200 poorer. ALL OSU CARES ABOUT IS MAKING MONEY!

Firstly, I'll apologize to all the duck hating, school spirit folks out there. I'm neutral on the "Which state school is better" thing. I dislike OSU for one reason, the administration. From the time I was accepted to now (2 years later) they have done nothing but incorrectly handle my financial and academic accounts. I have had to call financial aid every single term to remind them to do math properly when calculating my scholarships, loans, and grants. It is flat out ridiculous. I asked to talk with the head of financial aid and he actually told me that they have 5 personnel for all the students at OSU. That's for nearly 24,000 students! Seriously?! The campus is beautiful, the instructors have been for the most part good, but the administration has been more than awful for me. They even admitted me as an out of state student when I told them that I was born, raised, and had never lived outside of Oregon. Why? Because they wanted to charge out of state tuition whenever they could and I had "questionable" residency because my father was in the military twenty years before I was born. Stupid!

Please, take my advice and do not go here! This university is completely ran like a business. They do not care about the students, only their money. Beautiful campus, but filled with entitled kids whose parents are completely supporting them. The greek life is overwhelming and artificial in their community 'purpose.' All the housing is overly priced and ran by people who have no respect for students. If you want to pay 30 grand a year for a mediocre education, football games & the privilege to say you went to OSU, it's perfect for you.
