Go-to hummus/mediterranean spot in the Bay, and this location's at the end of Castro St, next to the Caltrain station. Ample seating with no wait, and so it's a good option with larger seating (but this might be different on weekends, I'd imagine it can be very popular during peak lunch/dinner hours as Castro normally is)
The standouts here are the hummus and the pita, I got the beef kebab grilled entree which comes with a free pita (got white) and 2 dips/sides, of which I got Oren's eggplant and falafel, and tried my friend's side of marinated beets.
The entree ended up being a lot for me, enough for 2 separate meals, though my friend also gave me his pita so that's a lot of carbs there too. Good value if you aren't the hungriest, since you can definitely stretch it out into multiple meals. Pita bread was a perfect balance of being soft, not too dry, and having good flavor, that gets complemented well by the hummus and the beef kebabs. Beef kebabs are cooked medium well (a bit red on the inside), very flavorful and not too salty, and go well by themselves, with the hummus, with the pita, or with all three! Hummus is smooth with a good flavor that helps add to the pita bread, or balance out the beef kebab or falafel, really liked the Oren's eggplant hummus flavor - you can taste hints of the egg, onion, eggplant, and chicken in it!
Wasn't the biggest fan of the beets (I don't usually eat beets so wasn't sure if I'm just used to the acidity of them or if it was from the apple cider vinegar), the falafel wasn't amazing but at the same time pairs well with the hummus or the beef, from a texture and flavor balancing perspective. Not particularly a big issue for me since I'm there for the hummus, beef, and pita mainly but still worth noting if you're particular on the sides.
Overall if you're craving Mediterranean on Castro, this is the spot, come for the hummus and pita, and enjoy the ambiance balanced with good Mediterranean food!
