Orient Cafe

Orient cafe is usually consistent, good egg rolls, the best wonton soup, and most of the menu is really good. My favorites are chicken with string beans, chicken or shrimp fried rice, and orange chicken. Although today we had, and I tried the orange beef, orange chicken (don’t mind the quantity, starting eating before I could take the pic😅) and wonton soup.

Very polite customer service. Food Quality was lacking. Batter on shrimp tasted gritty like corn meal. Broccoli bland. On a positive note service was fast I came as soon as they opened 11am no wait. Ordered walnut shrimp. I eat this dish at other restaurants regularly. There are variations but this just wasn't appetizing to me overall. It's also listed as a new dish on their menu.

I’ve been coming since 2003. Hands down the best Chinese food in Missouri city! Great service also.

They give you free fried rice and they also have brown rice for an upcharge. The shrimp egg for young is slightly above average. You get three patties in your order. The general chicken tastes better than it looks. The chicken with broccoli the portion could have been about 10% more than what they actually put in the container they didn't completely fill up the container. And I think the same with the general chicken too the portion size seems a little bit smaller like you would get from a Thai restaurant. The egg drop soup was probably the most disappointing of my dish. It was kind of bland. The gravy is thick but tastes like it has a little bit too much soy sauce in it.

I came here with my mom before. Today, I ordered their Pho I think? Something from their new menu. The only thing I wish is it would offer two different sizes for the soup- like a full bowl or a smaller one… I don’t want to waste it and I didn’t want to take it home either. But everything is good! Their service is always friendly. The waiter today checked on me more than others have in the past when I come alone.

I wish I could leave a better review, but my recent visit to Orient Cafe was downright disturbing. Found roach in my food. The server was extremely shocked and apologetic. The gentleman at the register was not remorseful at all, he made snarky sounds as I expressed my concern. Clearly, hygiene is not a priority here.

Orient Cafe is under new management. I love all the updates they have made to the place; it feels welcoming. The food has also improved, and everything we ordered was delicious. Our server was friendly, and she gave us excellent service. We are returning soon to try the pho!

We go to Orient Cafe almost once a week. The food is delicious and the staff has always been polite and professional. The atmosphere is nice, but the cleanliness is perfect. If you want an enjoyable delicious meal I recommend Orient Cafe.

Subpar quality. Ordered pork dumplings & wonton soup, used the same lousy product for both. It was awful; hard meat type product with dried out wrapper, they tasted gross. Couldn't eat it at all. Even the dipping sauce was bad. Also ordered fried rice, it wasn't very good either- but not as bad as those disgusting dumplings. We have lived here for over 30 years and used to order from them or eat in the restaurant all the time. We ordered a year or so ago and weren't pleased but wanted to give them another try in case it was an off day. Nope it wasn't, never again. What a waste of money.

I would dine here for the spring rolls alone however their fried rice is so good and one of my kids love their lo mein. I always get a side of the brown sauce to go as well because I like my leftover Chinese rice except for it gets dry but with the sauce on it, it gives it a nice coating and it's well to heat up for the next day.

The food was delicious. I got the Orange chicken with fried rice and 2 egg rolls. The service was amazing as well. They were very patient! My new go to spot for chinese!

Really wish I could give them zero stars have tried them a couple times and hasn't been too bad but hasn't been great either but this last time last night I got the chicken fried rice with no vegetables cause that's usually what you have to say to get them to cook it fresh, but I ordered that it was the only thing I've eaten that day and I got the worst food poisoning I've ever had literally was throwing up all through the night. I threw up about six times and was not having a great time using the bathroom. I'm still currently not having a great time using the bathroom. I called them to let them know and all they said was I quote "sure we'll look into it." honestly you're disgusting please I know they've remodeled three times but in the beginning, they used to have a little cockroaches running around near your table. This place is disgusting in should seriously have a health inspector come and check out all their stuff on a random check up.

Please change your Yelp menu pricing It was not what I was charged and paid for my lunch special. I paid the "updated price" anyways but it's very misleading.

The food for a small establishment was very good and the service was outstanding. The restaurant has new management and they have done a good job. I rateit a four.

Love this family friendly cafe. I visit at least 3 times a month. Food is delicious and always hot. Fast service and reasonable pricing.

still nothing has changed their food is undercooked and causing people to get sick, but no one is telling anyone the truth they can put new furniture and remodel, but their customer service is the worst in Missouri city they should be shut down for good. Someone is getting paid off just look in the back of their building you can see all the trash and cockroaches..

I went there yesterday. I tried the pho. Shrimp was not cooked. It was mushy . Pho had no flavor.

I've eaten here many times, both inside and delivery. Tonight, Sunday 4/7/24 I have to say, I was disappointed. The high point was the egg foo young. We loved it. Moo shoo pork was good, but the pancakes were hard and stuck together, as though they made them hours ago and let them sit. The pork lomein noodles were okay, but the pork was very chewy and had lots of tendons that we had to spit out. I hope this was just an off day for them, they've been my go-to Chinese delivery dinner!

Orient cafe is my favorite chinese restaurant. Very clean and food comes out very fast. Server was very attentive.

I recently revisited Orient Cafe, and I will now give them 5 stars. Since The Township has gone a facelift, the restaurant has too! All for a fabulous turn around. Every morsel was fresh and delicious. I'm so happy they have done necessary customer service adaptations!

This place has been around for so long it a go to place. The food flavors has always been consistent. Must be the seasoned wok. The waiters have changed but they are quick with the food. The whole place has a new renovation along the the strip center. I will continue patronizing this place as long as it exists. Love Orient Cafe.

Nice place in Missouri City. They have a full menu of Asian food, not just Pho. The BBQ ribs have a sweet flavor but they could go lighter on the sauce.

Food, services, price were all good. I found out today that they now deliver again in the Missouri City 77459 area

Great little place. It was recently remodeled along with the whole strip center and it's very nice. Friendly and attentive staff. I highly recommend!

This place used to be amazing, but during my last visit the food was bland and the portions were small. This used to have my favorite General Tso's chicken and it's almost inedible now. It's been there for 30+ years but after my last visit, I'm not sure how much longer it will be around.

The General Tso Chicken and Mongolian beef were really good. The workers were nice too

This restaurant has new management and has just gone through renovation. The place looks very modern and clean. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. Big shout out to my wonderful server Kayla who was very attentive and checked up on us often. We received our food quickly and were also served complimentary wonton chips. I recommend giving this place a try and will definitely be back for more.

Always happy after eating at OrientCafe! Their portions are good, taste delightful, and service is on point. Whether dining in or calling for take out you can't lose. Some of my faves are shrimp or chicken fried rice, broccoli in garlic sauce and special lo menu. And the lunch specials are great! Great prices, great taste!

First time ordering delivery. 30 minutes late. Dumplings inedible. General TSO, Mongolian Beef are average. Better places to spend your money

This restaurant used to serve great foods. This was my go-to Chinese restaurant about 20 years ago. Now the quality and the taste of the foods are mediocre. I guess they change management or the original staffs left. I didn't recognize the normal employees there anymore. Don't waste time and money here seek elsewhere, Panda Express is way better food than this restaurant.

Used to come here all the time. Now after covid this is literally a hole in the wall restaurant. Now with the price increase I will skip this place. They are trying to be fancy and price each dish similar to pf changs.

This restaurant has been here for years. I have been dining here since it first opened in the Missouri City Town Ship Center. As a diner I have seen a change in the food as well as the ownership. The food used to be much more flavorful and rich in taste. A standard dish is the chicken fried rice, it used to have much flavor but now it seem bland. The portion is large but for taste there is nothing there. One of my favorite go to dishes is the Mongolian beef. It seems a though they have started to use more sugar in the sauce and it just doesnt have the same taste as it once did. The chicken garlic sauce again seems as though it's just chicken and a sugar sauce. Nothing that makes you say Wow! The dish used to have lots of flavor and you could literally taste everything that the chief added to the entree. The dining area is good for the type of dining. There is a large television and a fireplace for ambience. There is always enough room for you not to feel as though the table next to you is part of your table. The atmosphere, music and cleanliness is always good. The service when dining is average. Nothing bad but nothing that stands out to make you remember anything. Over all decent, with decent prices. There is nothing that stands out as it once did just an average Chinese restaurant.

The delivery can not give an estimated time they will have food delivery from the time ordered to pick up. The person answering the phone is rude.

This hurts me to say this, but I will no longer eat here. This used to be my go to for take out, but as of last week, it will be no longer. I ordered generals tso chicken, Mongolian beef, and shrimp fried rice. As usual, I was enjoying some left overs later in the day, and what did I see sitting in the Mongolian beef? A ROACH!!! A dead roach was in my meal. I was so disgusted, I immediately threw the rest of my food away. I was so disappointed. I have eating at this establishment for over 15 years.

The worse Chinese food I have ever had. There was a foreign object in my wife's food. She threw away the wonton soup, hard to mess up and the crab wontons.

Good food w/large portions. I like that you get crispy noodles w/your soup for no extra charge. They made the General Tao's chicken mild for me even though it is listed as a spicy dish. Will return.

We have been going to Orient for the past 15 years. It was consistent and close. However, on my recent visit there was an odor of bad seafood. When I opened my order of steamed dumplings they smelled bad, tasted a corner to make sure it wasn't a seasoning...they were bad. No sauce for moo shu chicken. Wonton soup is tasty-consistent.

Just picked up my food and first I found a hair in my chicken with broccoli I was like OK maybe it's my imagination I ordered from here regularly so I was given them the benefit of the doubt. Then I opened my egg drop soup and floating on top was a baby Roach. I call back to inform them and was offer to come pick up a new order which I declined and ask for my money back the Gentleman on the phone seem bothered that I wanted my money back and not a new order. Sad to say but this will be my last time coming here.

This place has been a staple of Missouri City for so long. When other big name restaurants fail in this business park- Orient Café stays open. My family and I have been going to this place for years and feel that they have the best WonTon soup & Hot & Sour Soup. For some reason, you just cannot get enough of the iced tea. I would recommend you visit this place especially on a Sunday afternoon after church for the lunch menu. (Lunch menu prices on a SUNDAY!)

Pretty darn good. Location is close to the Quail Valley, Missouri City area. We tried their shrimp fried rice and house noodle soup. Both are excellent choices. Decided to bring an extra order to go.

They had a huge pot of rice cooling in the alley behind the store. Once i deen that, never, ever again.

We were craving Chinese food and our GPS brought us here. We loved it. Service was quick and the plates huge, so please share. Even each of us ( 4) got their own plate we only paid $34. And we brought enough left over for tomorrow. I highly recommended!

I thought the food was delicious. My mother ordered the sweet and sour chicken and I ordered the Treasure chicken. My only complaint was the raw and flavorless peanuts they tossed on top. The wonton soup was delicious and the portions were pretty big for lunch special prices. Very quiet and a bit warm inside but better than being outside. Employees were detached and distant but they kept on top of refills and were polite while serving. Definitely will come back, really enjoyed it.

Real good food for really cheap. The portions are big. The shrimp fried rice has a very good amount of shrimp. The staff is really friendly. Beef with broccoli is good, but may need a higher grade of beef.

Absolute favorite from childhood but I get the same things every single time. We like sesame chicken or hunan chicken with shrimp, beef with broccoli, won ton soup, fried spring rolls, egg drop soup, shrimp fried rice (sometimes we add bean sprouts and $2 extra shrimp). Good lunch deals with soup and spring roll included. No opinions on any other menu items....

The worse sweet and sour shrimp ever!!! Overly fried shrimp with a container on the side of sweet and sour sauce. The shrimp was cold and hard and fried. Since when is sweet and sour shrimp not boiled and sauteed in sweet and sour sauce?!? When I called about it thinking they had just mixed up the orders the guy told me that's how they were made always. He didn't tell me that when I called and there is no description or picture of it since they cook it so differently than any other restaurants. No apology or remorse. It's okay because I never should have kept the flyer they left on my door. I never should have tried to give a mom and pop restaurant a chance because not all mom and pop restaurants are honest. I can't believe they are still open severing trash food. Lesson learned, next time I'm going to Panda Express. At Panda Express, it's more affordable, always hot, and always exactly what you ordered.

Got takeout from here Friday, my designated 'no cooking' night. I ordered chicken egg foo young and shrimp tempura. It's been a while since I've ordered from this spot and to be honest, I really should go more at least for this dish. Unfortunately, they gave me shrimp egg foo young instead of chicken but it was still really good and the tempura shrimp were very good - but they forgot to give me the correct dipping sauce, they put the one for dumplings in my order. If you're okay with not getting what you order but what you get is still tasty, this is the spot! Ok, so wait - they made two mistakes in my order and I'm defending them and saying I should go back. WTH? Sorry - it's Monday as I write this and my circuits are slow firing. It's been almost 3 years since I was last there. Put me down for a redo in 2018.

We like this place because it's one of the few where you can get Wor Wonton Soup, where you get tons of veggies, chicken, shrimp, beef, and pork besides just the broth and wontons. The noodle dishes here are consistently good, too. My only wish is they'd turn the damn TV off. They've even got the sound from the TV coming out of the speakers in the ceiling, and they seem to think that everyone wants to sit facing the big screen while CNN plays and people argue over gun control. I mean, I even agreed with half of what was being said but it still annoyed the piss out of me. Just turn it off. Cable news is inane on a good day and it doesn't add anything to the dining experience. I'd rather be able to listen to what my wife has to say than listen to two people bicker on TV.

One of my favorite chinese restaurants. Not a buffet, which automatically puts it above the rest. I will traditionaly get the kung pao chicken or KP chcken and shrimp or General Tsao's chicken. Each of these are an excellent choice full of flavor and not bland as I find at many chinese restaurants. My family usually gets the Sesame chicken which is also good. Their spring rolls are the best around, they have the thin flaky shell which makes them excellent and they taste like they are freshly made. Versus the other style which is the thick chewy almost batter like type of shell which taste like they were frozen and come from a food distribution company. I was able to get 4 lunches, including drinks, an extra soup and extra order of spring rolls for my young family of 6 for around $30. I give it the 5 stars because it is good food AND a great value.
