The 21 Best Restaurants In The North Fork - Long Island - The Infatuation

"It’s basically impossible to walk past the impulse-buy area near the register at Orient Country Store without spending more than $20. But instead of Snickers or Twix, you’ll find house-baked brownies, chocolate chip cookies, and, maybe, a coconut snack cake that you’ll eat half of before you reach the door to leave. Stop by before hitting the beach to pick up breakfast sandwiches and a few to-go lunches. They do the classics like cranberry chicken salad on seven-grain bread and hot caramelized mushrooms, gruyère, and salad greens on ciabatta." - sal vaglica

I don't live in the Orient area at all (I live in Stony Brook), but I had to go to Orient for business the Orient PO right next door. I had called ahead and asked if they sell any postcards at the area, and was told by Mariam that they didn't have a very good collection. I think Mariam grossly undersold their collection! I found the postcards that I needed, and even though I didn't get any food (it was 830a and I wasn't hungry just yet), the food looked delicious. If I ever go out to the East End again, I will definitely go back again.

Miriam and Grayson at the Orient Country Store catered my daughter's post-wedding brunch and everyone is still raving about the great food! Although we couldn't really provide the exact number of guests, they worked with us to provide all we needed for a successful event. Egg sandwiches were delicious, and the baked goods were a perfect complement. Thanks to them, we gave the happy couple a memorable send-off.

I’ve surely had over 100 Ruben sandwiches in my lifetime. Maybe 200. I like that type of sandwich. Maybe too much. This place has the absolute best Ruben sandwich I ever had. The bread was great, buttery, toasted, thick. The sauerkraut was terrific. And the Russian dressing wasnt too much. Just wonderful. Cool olde timey general store in a quiet neighborhood. Awesome find.

Such an awesome little store! The food is cooked to order and they had some of the BEST sandwiches we’d ever had. The staff is super fun and friendly as well. Homemade ice cream was delicious. Must see!

My favorite sandwich is the Rueben. This one at the Orient Country Store is the best ever! 😋 The coffee was excellent too! It’s worth a drive to visit this place & something!

What a great stop on the way to Orient Point! The Orient Country Store is vintage but still has the necessities you need so you don't have to go to the local (and further) IGA or King Kullen. Also the baking here is really good. We stopped in one morning on our way to Orient Point and enjoyed breakfast bagel sandwiches in bagels fresh from the oven. Risky worth the wait. The crust was good and the crumb was dense and chewy the way a good New York bagel is supposed to be and not pillowy and doughy. Also as many others have pointed out, you can't leave without an oatmeal cookie! Def with the stop!

Cute vintage feeling general store cafe with a surprisingly big menu of sandwiches, salads, pastries, etc. They always have delicious fresh baked items.
