I recently stayed at the Origin Hotel in Lexington and wow—what a stylish and inviting place! The decor is trendy yet cozy, with a warm vibe that immediately makes you feel at ease. My room was spacious, sparkling clean, and modern, and the bed? Hands-down one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. The food and drinks were also top-notch, showcasing the local Kentucky flavor perfectly. Don’t miss the Kentucky coffee—absolutely delicious! While the front desk experience wasn’t overly welcoming (not rude, just a bit cold), the bar/restaurant staff more than made up for it—especially one incredible young woman working the morning shift at the bar. I didn’t catch her name, but she had brown hair, a face tattoo near her ear, and the warmest, kindest presence. We connected briefly over parenthood and tattoos, and her sweet compliment about my pierogi tattoo meant more than she realized—it’s a memorial to my late father. Her warmth, empathy, and genuine spirit completely made my trip. She deserves every bit of recognition possible. She is the reason for this five-star review. If you’re staying in Lexington, don’t miss the chance to be taken care of by people like her. The Origin Hotel is lucky to have her—and so were we. ❤️

I stayed overnight with my four year old grandson, and we both enjoyed ourselves. There was a tent set up for him to sleep in and there was a sweet little gift for him as well. The fun rotating galaxy lamp was a great touch, and he requested one for his birthday. I did move the tent from where it had been set up near the bathroom and room door onto his bed. It fit fine, was a safer option and he was cozy and comfortable all night. The restaurant was nice, although there needs to be kid friendly fare (with accompanying wallet friendly prices), rather than having to spend $18 for him to have a burger. Additionally, while I found the fries to be very tasty, they were too peppery/spicy for him, so his went uneaten. If you are serving a child, and do not offer child menu options, it would be helpful if servers asked if modifications were needed, i.e spice levels. Everyone we came into contact with were friendly and polite.|My only other issue is that when I checked in, I was not told there would be an added $50 charge to the room for incidentals. I was confused when the charge came through, and thought maybe it was very steep fees/tax, but afterward it dropped off and the price of just the room came through. So, just be sure to point that out at check in. Otherwise, my grandson and I enjoyed ourselves and he would love to go back.

Google
A solid 4 star experience at a very nice hotel. While researching where to stay near Lexington, reviews at several other "5 star" hotels said they were nice, but dated and looking worn out. The Origin is a new, modern hotel. It just feels fresh. At check in, we were asked if we were light or heavy sleepers, and what amenities were a priority for us. They placed us in a room at the end of a wing on the top floor. It was perfect. The hotel is in a very nice commercial/residential development with several nice restaurants within walking distance. We very much enjoyed J. Alexander's and Honeywood. The Origin bar has good selection of Bourbon, however some of their prices per pour were significantly higher than the same pour at J. Alexander's. It was nice to get to try some very hard to find whiskey (Russell's 15 and Old Rip 10). It is a very fur baby friendly hotel and area, so bring the furry kids. We will plan on staying at the Origin anytime we are near Lexington, and Will enthusiastically recommend it to anyone traveling the area.

We had a really nice stay! Hotel was clean, location was in a mall area with lots of restaurants. This hotel has a bar and restaurant, staff was really kind, good rest, comfortable beds and pillows, nice hot shower. There was some kind of sporting event going on. We saw of kids, but never heard them. Staff was great with putting us in a quiet location away from whatever else was going on. Good job Wyndham! I would stay here again.

Google
Ok. I have never stayed at this hotel, so I can’t rate the rooms obviously. But we did eat here and both of our meals, drinks, and service experience was excellent. Super surprised and literally tried to change other dinner reservations to this place so we could eat here again to see if it’s normal. The coffee rubbed prime rib was excellent as was the salmon with the garlic cream sauce. I would probably drive back to Lexington to eat both again. Great dishes!

Google
Great customer service. Crosby Gardner was fantastic at the desk. Professional, super helpful. The hotel is beautifully kept. They do typically have the unfortunate barn door bathroom doors which is a mystery in the modern hotel industry, but oh well. There are some other good hotels in Lexington that have normal doors. 33 Staves is also wonderful. Solid food. Solid bar!

Google
Great room. Great value for money ey. Great location. Good bed and sheets and towels. Hot water took a long time to get and water pressure not too good but I love the room. Will definitely come back here. Location has lots of restaurants and stores

Google
Origin Lexington absolutely exceeded our expectations! This hotel blends modern design with a unique nod to Kentucky’s iconic horse country, making every space — from the lobby and in-house bar to the hallways and guest rooms — feel thoughtfully curated and full of character. The décor is fresh, stylish, and distinctly local. We also loved the convenience of having fantastic shops and restaurants just steps from the hotel. Our room was incredibly comfortable with a cozy bed, great amenities, and plenty of hot water — all the little details that make a stay feel effortless. Without question, Origin Lexington will be our go-to whenever we’re back in the area!

Yelp
A.azing place for Derby. Amazing amenities and toiletries. It is close to Keenland. Also, it is close to the shopping center. Literally, walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The parking is not trafficky. I am looking forward to seeing what the clothes store like Madewell and Anthropologie have in set. Lastly, the color scheme of this hotel is very open, light, fresh and new. Totally recommend.

Yelp
We stayed here for our company Christmas dinner. Very nice upscale boutique hotel at The Summit. It's walking distance to several shops and restaurants. Their bar, 33 Staves, has great food and drinks. We realized that they also have a private tasting room and a banquet area for larger gatherings. Their staff were very helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming into Lexington area.

Yelp
Total train wreck. Robert does not need to be there. He does not know how to treat his guest. I paid $3000 so far to stay there two nights I cannot get them to stop billing my credit card and they shared my information with the booking company that has hit me for almost $1700 so far I had to close my account todaytotal train wreck not a five star silly folks google it then Google the W in Miami that's a five star hotel. This is just a fancy motel six if that.

Yelp
What a FIRST RATE experience!!! My new husband & I booked one of the suites here... We were blown away by the customer service- Emily who greeted us with a warm smile... made us feel so special. What impressed us most was the level of customer service, the convenience to shopping and fantastic place to just walk. We can't say enough about our experience ! Thank you all for making our visit a truly memorable one

Yelp
I've attended a couple of conferences here in the last couple of years and stayed in a room for a week each time. This hotel is very clean, my room met all my expectations and the hotel staff is very responsive and pleasant. Origin has proven to be a great place for a small conference. The breakfasts and lunches served at conferences were good too.

Yelp
Very nice, Very clean and a fun atmosphere in the area. Park your car and walk around the shops. Very pleasant stay.

Yelp
Clean, modern hotel in walking distance to great shopping. The staff was kind, room was comfy and clean. I highly recommend if you are in Lexington!

Yelp
Our stay at the Origin Hotel was maybe our best stay anywhere in years. The check- in was very smooth and easy. The professionalism of the staff (to include 33 Stave) went beyond what was probably required. I could really feel like the enjoyed doing their jobs (hard to find these days). The room was warm and very comfortable. The location is ideal with various shops and eateries well within walking distance. We plan on returning for our anniversary.

Yelp
Worst stay that I can ever recall. On a weeknight. Loud. Thin walls. Incompetent staff. Do not stay here if you want to get any sleep. I am not a light sleeper. Stay elsewhere.
google avatar

Bryan C.

Yelp
Super nice design, nice bathrooms, cool color scheme, shiplap walls, decorative curtains, cool light fixtures, but loud. It's annoying me. Probably won't stay here again but I'm on the extreme spectrum of how quiet I like my hotels but for most is probably fine

Yelp
We've stayed here a few times while visiting our son and his fiancé. Location is perfect (Fritz Farm has everything you need or want). Absolutely gorgeous inside- beautiful bar and check in area! Employees have always been extremely friendly and helpful! Rooms are so clean, comfortable and wonderfully decorated. Rooms are so quiet we slept like babies. Gal working at the bar went over and beyond. This hotel would be at least $350/night in California. We moved to another Wyndham hotel in horse park to save some money and was repulsed by the filth and moved back to origins after one night. It felt like we were coming home as soon as we walked through their doors.

Yelp
Great stay and Liana at the front desk was a total delight. Awesome service all around from the yoga mat delivered to my room to the bar staff brewing coffee for me when I needed a caffeine boost. Also loved the board/group games in the lobby! I would stay here again when I'm in Lexington. The area around the hotel is upscale and has everything you need...down to Whole Foods. Lastly, I love hotel rooms with "hard wood" floors. Carpets get gross and with the humidity here, I could imagine that being unpleasant.

Yelp
Spent four nights at this hotel recently. Pros: beautiful facility, great location, loved the tub in the suite (room 311), very quiet hotel Cons: very ineffective air conditioning - couldn't get the air below 70 degrees the entire time. I despise hotels with faulty units and/or limitations to cool temperature settings. Another con was the staff. Not rude, but surely could've been a bit more chipper.

Yelp
Wow wow wow. I've traveled a lot, for work and pleasure, and this is one of the nicest hotels I've ever been able to stay at. The initial entry has quite a wow factor. The hotel is just over a year old, and it is trendy and clean. The design work is impressive throughout the hotel, even in the hallways by the rooms. The rooms are beautiful, the beds are super comfy, and the amenities are exceptional. The best part, as a dad, is there are some super thoughtful freebies for kids. The kids can ride hobby horses to and from the lobby, there are cookies at reception, and there are adorable teepees available for the kids to play/sleep in. To top it off, there's a memorable restaurant/bar in the lobby (separate review). A huge shoutout to Ryan for the best hotel customer service I've ever received. He was exceedingly kind, helpful and welcoming. We're considering staying an extra night just because we love the beginning of our stay here.

Yelp
Origin Hotel is freaking INCREDIBLE. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the suite was almost total perfection, and the staff was absolutely top notch. We stayed in a double queen and the Lexington Suite. Both rooms were great but the suite stole my heart. The main attractions were the giant windows framing a fantastic view out over the main body of the Summit, the comfortable living area with a kitchenette and a dining room table, and my favorite thing of all: gigantic free standing bath tub. I spent way way too long in it. I even got a late checkout and took work calls in it (shhhhh don't tell). The staff allowed my kids access to a side room to get their energy out (playground is closed), and every person there was kind and helpful. Would I go back? YES. Going back for Father's Day

Yelp
Such a beautiful hotel. It's a wonderful boutique hotel in a great shopping area. So much nicer than big brand hotels that lack character. Great bar downstairs, very nice staff, awesome rooms. Will definitely come back. Couldn't recommend more highly!

Yelp
My friend and I stayed here for a night so we could party down. COVID really put a damper on it, but we managed to have fun anyway. The room was very clean and ready when we arrived. The hotel in general has a warm decor but not so stuffy that you don't feel comfortable. They had a smart tv so we could watch Netflix and chill with our champagne we got at the restaurant on the first floor. Restrooms are nicely appointed, bed was very comfortable and we had a solid night sleep. Staying here allowed us to shop at William Sonoma and other Fritz Farm shops while drinking beyond the "driving" capacity. Being a responsible adult doesn't have to be boring!

Yelp
I have stayed at this hotel since it opened . I have only excellent things to say about ambience, vibe, engaged employees,( actually have same front desk staff since opening ) good food and service . Good bed and pillows . Awesome work out room . Pet friendly . Minimalist yet cozy . Super cool location . My ONE problem is the glaring lighting at night in the bar/ restaurant . What are you thinking ??! You could land a plane in there . Mood lighting is so essential . PLEASE consider DIMMING THE LIGHTS !! A " regular "......

Yelp
Great hotel, great staff, great price and great food. Over the two days I was here all of the front staff and bartenders was super nice and I really appreciate that. The decor of the restaurant and the rooms is new and fresh. Definitely recommend this hotel.
google avatar

Eric D.

Yelp
Have you ever expected more out of something? I cant pinpoint an exact problem from this hotel, other than I just expected more. The lobby and bar area lives up to the hype, but the rooms do not. You can tell they cut corners on the rooms and cleanliness is not on the same page as other hotels In Lexington. The location is great, bar is great, but it could be so much more.

Pam R.

Yelp
We recently stayed four nights here. It is a very nice hotel. The staff is super friendly and the rooms are nice and comfortable. The bar was busy and fun...Andrew makes a great Bourbon cocktail! We had a nice breakfast at the restaurant. The location is a bonus....high end shopping, dining, a cycle bar, Starbucks....all a short walk away. My only complaint is the shower head, it's a spitter, not a good flow. Regardless, We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
LOVED this hotel. I don't know how it doesn't have 5 stars overall on here. I can't say anything bad about it. Staff was so nice. Rooms were wonderful. Whole vibe of hotel was great including the bar area. Very welcoming. I will definitely be recommending this place to anyone passing through Lexington.

Yelp
Excellent experience and wonderful hotel. Great location! Loved my stay here even during COVID-19! Keep up the good work.

Yelp
Love this place! When we checked in found out we had made our reservations for the wrong weekend. The front desk attendant (I think her name was Meredith) was very friendly and helped us correct it and was able to get us a room. Rooms are nicely decorated, comfy beds, cool modern vibe. Quiet at night since back away from busy roads. Restaurant/bar in hotel great too. Perfect location. Can walk right out to great shopping. Definitely will come back!
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
We stayed there last night. The hotel was nice and the location was great, but we found that the heat didn't work in our room we called the front desk. He said all he could do was bring us more blankets. In the morning when we tried to take our showers there was no hot water. This put a big damper on our experience.
google avatar

Stephanie B.

Yelp
Loved this hotel. It's in a great area, surrounded by cute shops and plenty of dining options within walking distance. Parking is a breeze and the hotel is super dog friendly. Very modern rooms and the bar is a great place for a quick bite and great cocktails. Highly recommend!

Ridley D.

Yelp
Super nice people and convenient location but no housekeeping and when you call the front desk there's no answer. Stopped at the front desk asked for towels and coffee and did not get them basic services

Tim H.

Yelp
Stayed here over the weekend moving my daughter to college, clean place and friendly people. The only thing I suggest and this just a safety check at any hotel with a k cup coffee maker. When I was trying to make a cup of coffee I found pills within the water container, picture attached. The hotel was shocked and very apologetic and gave us a discount on the room. This is not slam on the hotel it's an awareness to all to double check.

Jody B.

Yelp
Never in my life have I had such a HORRIBLE meal. Our 50 year class reunion was amazing and the restaurant was adorable. Service wasn't bad but didn't speak English I guess because they never brought anything our table asked for. All the food was cold not even warm. Small salad and flat as a pancake!! No bread. We paid $120 for 2 tickets. It wasn't just us, many came up to us and told me the same thing. I guess it must be rich people's food!! I only gave it one star because it wouldn't let me post a 0

Yelp
I booked this hotel on a third party website at a low rate. So low that the site cancelled my reservation without proper notification because the low rate it was a glitch. I drove 2.5 hrs to get here not knowing this. Meredith was working the front desk and was very apologetic and informed me that they had canceled my hotel room because of the low price glitch. The manager, Drew, came out from the back and said he overheard what happened and offered a low rate due to the issue with the third party. I checked my email and I had a message from 2 hours ago (which I didn't get because I was already traveling) that it was cancelled, no phone call and the email pretty much incorrectly blamed the hotel saying the cancellation was due to inventory issues. Which I was assured by the front desk that there were rooms available...anyway. The site haggled with me saying they'd offer me a $50 credit, which still put me in a place where I didn't have a room. Let me remind you, THEY OFFERED ME A RATE, I PAID IT AND THEY CANCELLED ME WITHOUT PROPER NOTIFICATION. So I explained to the person on the phone that they had hung me out to dry. Meredith continued to apologize while I was on hold even though none of this was the fault of the hotel. The person from the third party site said they were going to call the front desk and see what they could work out. Since I was in the lobby already, I was able to hear the whole conversation. Meredith answered, listened to the caller and very clearly stated that they needed to cover the cost of the hotel for me because they made a mistake and now I have nowhere to stay she explained that I had not been properly notified. She continued to explain that not only was I not properly notified, but other guests were not either (apparently I was not the only one effected by this) and she got them to pay for my room! Woohoo! Way to back me, Meredith! The room is so nice, very modern. Bed linens were perfect. The decor of the hotel is so awesome. Free parking. The gym is well equipped and clean and wifi was reliable. The hotel itself is around a shopping area with stores, restaurants, and a Whole Foods. Can't really ask for more. The restaurant in the hotel has great staff as well. Jeremy was my server for dinner and had great recommendations (kale and quinoa bowl with salmon - so good). He had a great personality and very welcoming. Came down for breakfast and Luke was just as great! Had steak and eggs and it was delish! These are the kind of people you want working at your hotel. Overall, I had a great time and I can't wait to come back! P.S. They accommodated a late check out too! :)

Yelp
I'm so happy we found this gem! We usually stay at Marriott or Holiday Inn Express but this place beats both chains hands down! One of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed. The rooms are super clean, friendly staff, walking distance to shopping and restaurants. I honestly can't say enough nice things about this hotel and it's location. All the restaurants located in The Summit at Fritz Farm offer a 10% discount if you stay at Origin. The places to shop here are endless, it's also located only 1.5 miles from the Fayette Mall. There's one negative thing to say if I'm to be honest, the water pressure isn't that great. There's way too many positive things to say about this hotel, I can deal with the water pressure. Our biggest pet peeves in hotels are the smell and air conditioning. There's no smell in the hallway and no smell in the rooms. Most chains will turn your air conditioning off If you're not in the room, not this one. It's 95 degrees outside, we just returned from eating/shopping and our room is 64 degrees! The next time we stay, I think we'll get a suite and stay longer! Just BOOK this place already! You won't be disappointed. https://thesummitatfritzfarm.com https://thesummitatfritzfarm.com

Yelp
Excellent hotel. Very reasonably priced. Fun interior. Perfect place for a weekend getaway!

Justin T.

Yelp
The friendliest staff I've come across in any hotel I've stayed at. Very helpful and gave great recommendations for my stay in Lexington. New, nice, and hip hotel. Great hotel gym. Located in a nice outdoor shopping center. 10/10 recommend.

Rick P.

Yelp
Outstanding stay at the this exquiste place! From the lobby area where smelled fresh and soothing to the delightful and comforting to the gorgeous room my wife and I stayed in, we felt welcomed! Fabulous front desk help too. We loved the location of this place and the modern vibe. Overall, probably the best hotel I ever stayed in. If I could add 5 more stars, I would.

Yelp
first off this hotel is beautiful, very nice decor in the hallways and rooms. the beds felt like a cloud and i seriously had the best sleep. the reason i rate it a 3, the dinner that they offer in the lobby had about 5 entrees to choose from and i chose the emerald kale salad. disgusting, never eating that again it was very dry and gross. we then tried to order chicken and waffles only to find out there was no waffle machine so why is that even an option on the menu? the fridge in the room was only able to fit about 3 drinks so bring a cooler if you are staying a long time. the bathrooms were very nice, nice mirror, sink and shower. we thought the shower was great only until we turned it on. the water pressure was like standing in sprinkling rain, it took me twice as long to shower as i normally do. for what the shower looks like you think it would have great water pressure. WRONG. the highlight of this hotel has to be the beds and the tv because netflix is offered. i would stay here again for the bed but i have been to many hotels that have a better restaurant than this.

Anna G.

Yelp
Had a 5 night stay at this hotel. Very lovely and contemporary. Restaurant downstairs has yummy food! During half of our stay we did not have any hot water... We did get free breakfast and a discount off of our stay because of this. The 3 stars is not because of the hot water. We understand that things happen sometimes. We had issues with housekeeping. We found trash in the drawers and the mini fridge. Talking to other people who stayed here also they found trash and other personal belongings left inside their room as well. Also housekeeping barged in our room twice during our stay.. That has never happened to us before at any other hotel we've ever stayed at so it was quite shocking.. Don't know what's up with that ... Please educate housekeeping on respecting the privacy of your guests.

Corey M.

Yelp
Says dog friendly, not really. There's absolutely no dog poop stations, so there's poop everywhere. Like literally everywhere. I couldn't take my dog out without stepping in some. The rooms are small for the price you pay. The cleaning service never came by the entire week I was there. The concierges were great, however. But all in all, not worth the fortune you have to pay.

Berhe S.

Yelp
Best friendliest staff, great bar, food and rooms. Highly recommend. We moved here from another hotel and we love this place. Kids have a play area next to this great shopping plaza that has all restaurants

Lisa O.

Yelp
This hotel hits ALL the excellence boxes! Every time I walk in the front door, it is like coming home - you know that feeling you get that has you instantly relaxed? From the warm, comfortable decor to the friendliest hotel staff anywhere, you feel at home immediately. Our most recent visit, during this pandemic, we felt very safe: signage on the door alerts visitors who have COVID-19 symptoms to not enter...signs remind everyone to wear masks & staff gently give verbal reminders as well. Cleaning happens regularly throughout the hotel & the restaurant/bar is very vigilant about keeping everyone safe. The staff is very knowledgeable about all the best local anything - want an adventure? They have great suggestions. Looking for the best sushi or bbq or thai or indian food (or whatever)? They know it AND can make your reservation! Shopping? Origin is located at the Summit @ Fritz Farm - you will love the shopping! 33 Staves, their restaurant, has delicious food! Have had dinner &/or appetisers several times & loved every bite...try the Charred Cauliflower-SO good!...the Farm Burger-you will be stuffed!... Brunch on Sundays - oh my! Had a bite or 2 off everyone's plate & it was ALL yumny...even the Harvest Bowl & I thought I didn't like kale! The beds! So very comfortable! Showers spacious & soap, shampoo& creamer dispencers mean no need to pack them! In-room coffee delicious! You will not want to leave Origin Lexington!

Mike K.

Yelp
Hotel failed to inform guests that they had no hot water on check-in. We attempted to take a shower, no hot water, and the called front desk. Front desk extremity undermanned, and it rang forever (one person only working on check in). The worker apologized and stated "maybe we can give you a discount or something?" We were informed that "emergency workers" were attempting to resolve the situation. No hot water at 9:30 pm, and still no hot water when we left the next morning at 9 am. Amenities were otherwise fair. No microwaves in the room. Small mini fridge present. No bathtubs in my room, jut stand up showered. No closet, just hangers on the wall. There did seem to be a lot of outlets. Lobby is small, with majority of space being for restaurant/bar on bottom floor. They do allow pets, so expect to be in an elevator with a corgi or 2. Uncertain what the "discount or something" may end up being as I write this ‍
