If you happen to be in Indianapolis (say on Market Street, between Delaware and Alabama Streets) on any Wednesday (say between the hours of 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.} between May and October, consider yourself to be very lucky.
Because of you meet all those requirements, you can visit Indianapolis' Original Farmers' Market and have a terrific time.
Market Street is closed to vehicular traffic during the Farmers Market, so it gets transformed into a pedestrian mall. There must have been 50 vendors on both sides of the street.
And what might those vendors sell? Probably every type of fruit and vegetable grown in the state of Indiana, plus spices, ciders, baked goods, oils, vinegars, eggs, meats, granola, wine, flowers, beef jerky, coffees, guacamole, salsa, tostadas, soap, cosmetics, honey, popcorn, lemonade, bakery goodies, egg rolls, pet foods, teas, coffee, and cocktail mixes.
It's a gorgeous sensory overload of reds and oranges and yellows and greens as you see stall after stall of amazing looking produce.
I picked up some great beef jerky and a bottle of cocktail mix from Tailored Toddies.
This was one helluva great Farmers Market!
