This place has the BEST Chile Relleno! I need to come back here when I am back in town, wow, this is probably one of the best Mexican Restaurants I have been to in the country. I am so happy with the flavor, the service, and the atmosphere of the place. Thank you!

We had enchiladas Ahumadas and the sizzling enchiladas at Christian's recommendation. They were both fantastic. Great service, great food. The only complaint I have is that we don't live nearby to enjoy them more often!

I ordered a chicken fajita plate topped with an enchilada and was immediately impressed by the feast before me. The sizzling fajitas arrived on a hot cast-iron skillet, featuring perfectly grilled chicken strips nestled among caramelized onions and vibrant bell peppers, all crowned with a rich sauce and a delicate sprinkle of crumbled queso fresco. The plate was artfully arranged with Spanish rice glowing a warm amber color, alongside velvety refried beans topped with melted cheese. Fresh guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo added bright pops of color and texture. The accompanying corn tortillas came wrapped in foil, keeping them warm and pliable. They are very generous with the crunchy taco filling as well. 😋😋😋 Everything was exceptionally fresh, authentic, and bursting with flavor. The seasoning was beautifully balanced—not overly salty—and the generous portions satisfied without overwhelming. Their margaritas were spectacular, served in elegant glasses with just the right amount of ice, while the crisp house-made tortilla chips and vibrant salsa provided the perfect start to the meal. ✨⭐ The visual presentation was as impressive as the taste—a feast for the eyes 👀 before becoming a feast for the palate. 🤤 I highly recommend this restaurant and plan to make it a regular spot. The only minor drawback is the somewhat hard-to-spot sign outside, but that's insignificant given the culinary treasure that awaits inside. ⭐✨

Amazing Mexican food and service!! We had the Tampiquena carne and steak fajitas and both were delicious! Perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The rice, beans and flour tortillas that came with the meat were just as good. We were just passing through Bakersfield on our way to San Francisco and I’m really happy we went in. Next time I’m in town I will definitely be coming here again.

Authentic and delicious! The service was phenomenal! They didn't get upset when we asked to split checks in 7 ways for a group of 20. They also didn't add in their own tip for a big party. They brought plenty of salsa and napkins and were never late on bringing food or drinks. We will be back! A++

Great food. Great service. The salsa is fresh and homemade with a good kick. The fajitas were crazy good! The steak was so tender. It melts in your mouth! The piña aqua fresca is really good and not too sweet. Definitely recommend.

Chips and salsa. The salsa was very good. The chips were a little hard for me. I like them a little thinner and crisper. The margarita was pretty good though. My main entree was the Acapulco combo the fish was divine the shrimp were a little overcooked the rice was just a little dry and the steamed vegetables were just a tad over steamed. The service was very good though.

Stopped in for lunch while passing through the area and it was so good! I got the enchiladas suizas and my partner got the veggie fajitas. Servings are huge and we each got at least one additional lunch out of leftovers, which was great. They were quite busy but got us seated and served quickly. Highly recommend!

Such a classic Mexican style restaurant to try when in Bakersfield. This place has been here at least 50 years and the furniture is no much younger than that. But seriously, we were greeted promptly when we entered the building. We sat down for an early evening dinner and was met with a nice bowl of chips and salsa. The salsa had a nice kick to it and I found myself pouring it out onto my entree. For my meal I went for the rolled taco's trio because I had never seen that before. I am glad I did because the dish was very filling and delicious. It was delivered just as described, meat rolled into a soft flour tortilla, and stuffed with choice of chicken, asada, or veggie. I went for two steak and one chicken, accompanied with rice, beans, sour cream and guac. I ate half at the restaurant and the other half for a late night snack. I cant wait to go back and try this dish again. Great location, right off Highway 178 and Buck Owens Blvd and a short walk from the Crystal Palace.

Walked over here in the later part of afternoon to have an early dinner and cocktail after a long day at the show. We were immediately greeted and given the option to select our desired place to dine. Our hostess just happened to be our server too. Or maybe our server just happened to be playing hostess when we walked in. Either way, she's super sweet, very personable, and right on top of offering recommendations of the most tasty entrees on the menu. We ordered cocktails which were clearly free poured, hand blended, and not filled with excessive s&s mix. Just a nice mix and I'm ready to order another and my first one isn't even half finished. My dining companion apparently gives the thumbs up to the tortilla chips because I glance over and the basket is almost empty. Speaking of chips, the salsa is quite nice with its finishing bite. So far, nothing I anticipated. I ordered the short ribs because I've never seen them on the menu of a Mexican food restaurant and I really do like short ribs. I was forewarned that they were spicy but I give them two thumbs for the nice balance of spice. The Fajitas came with lots of steak and chicken, nice balance of flavor, and perfectly charred veggies -neither overcooked or underdone. Corn tortillas ordered with Fajitas were burn your fingers HOT. Only thing that could've made it better would be the addition of some cheese on the side. Highly recommend. Wonderful service, tasty drinks, delicious meals, and someone quaint, small restaurant with a good size patio that had space heaters.

Service was excellent and the menu complete. I was seated immediately even on a Friday evening. My food was perfectly cooked and portions were gigantic. Bring an appetite!

Another splendid meal at the Hacienda Grill on Buck Owens. This place is a little hard to find. The parking lot is set up kinda weird, but the food is delicious. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is good. Our Chicken Enchiladas were plenty to satisfy us.

My first time there. The food was very tasty. I ordered the two items combo. That came with a shredded beef enchilada, a beef tamale beans and rice. The staff was very friendly. I heard that they get get busy in the evenings for dinner so you should get there before the rush.

This is the best Mexican restaurant in Bakersfield. I really like their sizzling enchiladas. I also enjoyed that they put their soda in mason jars. They have really good chips and salsa. Staff is super helpful and friendly. They get busy sometimes. So that would be the only thing I would say they need to improve on. They need to go to a bigger location.

Well, I must say not impressed with the outside. Ordered the Caesar chicken tacos, they were rolled up and came with the best salad and pot beans. The salsa had a nice heat. I would recommend going back there. Can't wait to try their margaritas. 4 rating based on their food

We got there during a rush so had a little bit of a wait while two servers ran the entire cafe - serving, bussing and hosting. Once seated and the rush started to calm down our server became more relaxed and was so nice. Food was delicious - shrimp fajitas and Mexicana enchiladas. There was a small wait for the food but everything came out hot and fresh off the grill.

Went this past weekend...And the food was delicious.We tried the Molcajete and the flavor in that salsa is one of the best I've had so far in Bakersfield and not just me but both of us agreed the flavor is something we are definitely coming back for ..The service was great and food came out steaming hot ...thank you for the great service and we will be back !

Roommate and I went to lunch before, we started with an awesome margarita. I love there margaritas because they are very lime forward. Then we both ordered the hacienda chili relleno, I got the chicken and Adam chose with shrimp. Never thought of having it with anything but just cheese? It was outstanding, but everything they make is wonderful.. I recommend them to everyone I know. The ladies and Christian are so excellent in there service and make you feel like family.

Awesome service & great sized portions! We came here with a party of 6 & got seated promptly. The combination plates are a great deal. Burritos are huge & delicious. The staff was so great at making everything to our liking. The chile relleno was cheesy and saucy- as it should be! Great family restaurant to visit!

Just a short walk from the Holiday Inn Express on Buck Owens Blvd and the Ramps to Hwy 99. We were warmly greeted and chips/salsa were promptly brought. The house margarita I ordered came quickly. It was large and tasted great. My wife had iced tea. Our server, Josselyn E. greeted us with a beautiful smile. She was very pleasant and friendly. Our ordered was served FAST! I had a Carne asada burrito. It came with rice and beans, served hot, and tasted the best! My wife liked her enchiladas as well. Our server checked on us often. You need to go here!!!!

Just got in town and tried this place. The food was ok. The beef had great flavor but the chicken had none in the tacos. The server was on it in which I appreciate it. The ambience needs some updating. Power extension cords hanging from the walls and ceiling. The chairs had better years Food I give a 3 out of 5 Service I give it a 5 Ambiance I give it a 2 BTW. The ice tea is instant, not brewed

The best chili verde nachos in town! Every time I crave some this is the spot that hits home. Today we ordered sizzling enchiladas and the Nachos to go and let me start by saying we got home and everything was still hot! The front lady is always smiling and welcoming! For a Tuesday it looked busy but she had my order ready and prepared by the time I got there!

I've posted on Google Review and I'll do so here again, and WOW! Just the best Mexican food in California. Being from SF and coming up on three Mission burrito, I used to think that valley Mexican food was not as tasty and ASSUMED it was blander. This is the best part about exploring outside of your preferences. You get to find places that are understated; with all the flair and parading of craft food going around these days; it's just amazing to see that many original style restaurants can continue to produce such tasty food. They're not trying to cater to an expanded customer base. Rather, they're embracing and spreading the local culinary flavors of the region so that we can embrace IT! I can't wait to return here on my next work travel exploits.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Bakersfield area. For as many times as I have been here I've never been disappointed. The food comes out fast and is always fresh and delicious! Tonight I had two chicken enchiladas and a chicken taco. "Yummy yummy stuff "

Wow! What a surprise. I was staying at a hotel just down the street from the Original Hacienda Grill on a cold and rainy night and I didn't feel like driving anywhere. So I could go to Denny's or the Original Hacienda Grill and I chose the later. It was wonderful! Small and cozy, with an extensive menu and full bar the salsa was outstanding. I eat a lot of Mexican food and I can't remember when I liked it so much. The enchilada was hot and flavorful, and the taco was big and meaty. I live in Los Angeles, but will definitely make my way back to this gem next time I am in the Bakersfield area. Excellent food, cozy atmosphere, and top notch service.

We stopped on our drive to Burbank, CA and it did not disappointed. The service was phenomenal and every single plate we saw out looked delicious! We ordered the chilaquiles and the best part was the egg. The egg was cooked perfectly! I would come back next time I drive by Bakersfield. I would also recomend to try the molcajete. It looked amazing.

This is a hidden gem. Decor and furniture inside is a little outdated but the food is GREAT! We ordered a platter of taquitos which were delicious! A wet burrito; the meat inside was well seasoned and flavorful. Enchiladas with rice and beans were sooo good! Service was good! Young lady sat us down and less than 2-3 mins a young man came to take our order. Will definitely come back!

The office ordered food from Hacienda, I have never been so I thought ok cool!! They buy, I fly.... I ordered what everyone else got. About 1pm, the place had great parking, and the restaurant was as clean as I could see. Super friendly staff!! Fast service and great prices. I however wasn't a fan of the chile verde or the red sauce. Rice was just ok. Something was off, maybe it was my pallet, but I don't think so. I will be back, but will try something else. Maybe fajitas

After competing at a Strongman competition in Bakersfield, us hungry athletes needed a place to eat. Scrolled through Yelp and found this place. It was close to EFC so we headed here. There was a wait and unfortunately there isn't any where to wait. The restaurant shares a building with another business with a very small area to stand between the two places. Once we got seated, our apps and drinks came out super quick followed closely by our entrees. The food was hot, fresh and delish! Quite a few locals there which is always a plus for me when eating out of town. If we are ever back in Bakersfield, we will be back!

The food and quality was exceptional! The fajitas were seasoned to delight. Highly recommended. I'll return. Don't forgot the margarita. Hostesses were prompt and attentive. Large screen televisions added a nice flair for the sport enthusiast.

First time eating here. Only wish we had discovered this place sooner. The food is very authentic. Being Mexican, I am very discerning about quality authentic food. Seriously, Original Hacienda meets the standard. The Margaritas were great as well. The service was excellent as well. Loved this place!!

First time here. Drove up from a Coheed and Cambria concert and we decided on Mexican food so we stopped here. Kinda strong cleaning smell when you walk in (fabuloso) but I'm sure it's because the bar area is right at the entrance. Place is small but feels inviting. The staff is very nice and attentive. We only waiting about 5 minutes to be seated. It's Sunday and football is on. TVs on all walls! No trying to break your neck to watch! Score! You get served chips and salsa.. salsa is pretty damn good! I ordered a michelada. It's ok.. 3/5 for me. Ordered a small menudo, pretty darn tasty and packed with good size tripe! Bro got some wings and they are BOMB! Cambria got a combo plate but we dug in before we took the pic lol it's was pretty good as well. Price of the food is awesome! Budget friendly if you're taking out the family. Anyway, we're stuff to the gills and wouldn't definitely stop here again while traveling!

Stopped by on a Friday afternoon for a casual lunch with my hubby. Place sits right off the 178 next to the Arby's. And is connected to a loan check cashing place.. lol. Take out a loan before you eat lunch!! Lol Upon walking in the first thing we noticed was how small the inside dining area was, and even smaller the bar area. It wasn't too crowded, about six different small families spread out through out the dining area eating. It was chill. Our waiter was a young man named Christian and he was very attentive. He greeted us when we walked in and took us to our table. Gave us our menu, and a few minutes to look over them, while he went and got our chips and salsa, which were very tasty. The salsa had a nice little kick of heat but not overpowering, and the chips are homemade. The menu is rather small, which is a good thing because the quality remains consistent. Sitting at the booth we noticed how old and outdated the decor was, and it wasn't very clean either, but nothing too horrible at all. My husband ended up ordering the sizzling enchilada plate, and I ended up getting the one item combo plate with a chicken taco. Along with, "The Don" alcoholic drink, and one Pina drink Food came out in a decent amount of time, The sizzling enchiladas were indeed sizzling! And they stayed hot the entire time we were dining too. Nice! Overload on the vegetables though!! So much zucchini!! Lol Hubby wasn't a fan. And as my husband started eating the enchiladas he noticed a good amount of grease at the bottom of the plate too, again nothing too horrible, but definitely worth mentioning. But overall, he really did enjoy his enchilada! And he's picky, so that's a good sign!! Lol. The chicken both in the taco ( shedded) and the enchilada ( cubed) were very good. Amazing and authentic flavors! Very fresh and tender. The taco shell was firm, not soft, but not those hard grocery store type shells either. It was good,.. but from the shell sitting in the beans made it soggy at the bottom as it split all the way down the middle, so I had to use a fork and knife to eat my taco. My hubby gave me his scoop of guacamole, and it really was the bees knees. Very fresh and flavorful! The little scoop of cornbread was alright to me, my husband said you have to eat it with the rice lol, he enjoyed it very much. The beans where creamy and cheesy and had a good taste, and the rice had a nice authentic flavor to it as well, but Neither were piping hot when they were served to us... Luke warm. The Don alcoholic drink my husband got was pretty strong and huge, and was only 11 dollars! so that was pretty awesome. The Pina was okay nothing really to ride home about, but it was refreshing and didn't have a powdery taste or anything, like some do... The 4 stars are for the food, especially the chicken. And the green salsa that came out hot was the best. Plus The service and the overall price for the experience added to the score. I'd like to come back in the future and try something else. It was worth a come back for sure. Thanks for everything Hacienda!

Great portions and great taste , previous had drinks and they were the bomb but we did not do it this visit. We always come back here and will continue to do so.

Was surprised to find American style breakfast. Ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs and it was tremendous. One of the few places I found that actually gives you sufficient gravy to cover the entire steak. Service was excellent ambience nice but nominal. Price range average.

I haven't lived in Bakersfield for 9 years now and the one of the things I miss the most is their Mexican food. We ate here the morning after our stay. I ordered the huevos rancheros and let me tell you, wonderful take on this popular breakfast dish. The eggs (over medium) were drizzled with carne de puerco con chile verde. Not spicy, but with wonderful flavor. Their beans, hijole, so authentic, I can't wait to return to try some of their other dishes.

The food was overall amazing, the service was incredible very polite and her service was very amazing the ambiance of this place was very nice they had softball playing which is truly my favorite sport. Overall the only complaint was we had to much food the portions were amazing thank you Again Original Hacienda Grill for this amazing service and food

We were in Bakersfield for a visit to the World War II memorial to see my dad's name. We hadn't had lunch, and we were definitely ready for dinner. We looked for restaurants close by and when we saw the original Hacienda Grill, we thought we'd give it a shot. The service was wonderful, and the food was simply outstanding. It is a hole in the wall location, and it is difficult to locate. However, it is sneaky good!

Great food, great margarita and great place to enjoy great Mexican food. Super prices too.

I've only been here twice but I have been very impressed both visits. I got the 2 combination plate with a cheese enchilada and a shredder Ed beef taco. It comes with rice and beans and a little corn cake which is so yummy. The service is so friendly. My miche was perfect. And the salsa is so fresh! Honestly one of my new favorite Mexican restaurants!

This is my family's and my favorite Mexican restaurant in Bakersfield. Everything I have tried is delicious. Even just the beans and rice hit different here.

This has been my first review since tge pandemic years. Anyways, yesterday was a busy tiring day for us and instead of having to cook , we were just going to go to Carl's Jr's to get a quick bite to eat. Just as we were going to place our order we seen that for a regular combo was about $12 bucks. We remembered that we could get a decent meal at Hacienda, so off we went. We were warmly greeted and seated by a lovely young lady. We started off with some adult beverages. I had a perfectly made Cucumber Margarita and he a deliciously cold tall boy Modelo followed by another one. We enjoyed these drinks with some tasty chips and salsa. We placed our dinner order and before we could finish our chips and salsa, our meals arrived hot and looking fabulous. I can not rave enough over how delicious our meals were. He ordered the Taft special that included a tamale, chimi, taco, and a Chili Verde burrito with rice and beans for $15.99 and his taco shell and chimi were cooked to golden perfection. My fiancée said it was F'N bomb delicious. I ordered the grilled chicken tostada salad. This may have been a simple dish to prepare but it was prepared with love. My fried tortilla shell was the best fried tortilla shell ever. It was golden brown and cooked to a magnificent crunch. It tasted so good I made my fiancée taste it. We were so pleased that we passed on the Carl's Jr's meal and ended up here. Why would anyone pay an outrageous dollar amount for what's supposed to be budget friendly fast food when you can pay a wallet friendly price on a F'N delicious sit down meal.

I'm in town 12 times a year for drag races. This restaurant is our teams go to Mexican food spot. The Chicken Chimichangas awesome and big!! I sometimes save half if it when i eat too many chips. Comes with rice beans chips salsa for like $17. They also have a full bar. Wife loves their Margaritas. Oh they have like 6 big screen tv's so you can watch all your favorite games. Service was great in the chip refills. Ambience well we all enjoyed it in our iwn way. Lol. Sorry i ate the whole thing before someone said,"I thought you were going to shoot a picture?" Oops.
