Saweetie’s Favorite Restaurants In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"“This is my favorite hangover food. I get it delivered, but when I used to live in NoHo, I used to go over there and order it. It's a really cute, quaint, tiny mom and pop restaurant. And sometimes no one's even in there, but they're so sweet. I get the tom yum seafood soup, extra spicy. It's a hot and sour soup with a whole bunch of seafood in it. I get that with a side of rice, and it just does the job for me. It wakes me right back up. I'm extra, extra spicy—extra, extra spicy. Like, when my friends eat my food, they get really mad. They're like, ‘Girl, you said this wasn't that spicy!’ And then they're drinking a bunch of water and their mouth is really hot. So I think I have a different level of spice because I'm Black and I'm Asian, so I can handle a lot of spice.”" - brennan carley

Google
First time trying this place. We got a couple of lunch specials, one Pad Thai and another Pad See Ew. We also tried the Pork Jerky. Everything was good. Nothing outstanding but all was what I was looking for. I'd say the Pad See Ew was the most flavorful. My wife liked the Pork Jerky. It was a comfortable environment and the staff were nice.

Google
Pad Thai & Crispy Wontons - $28.50 - ridiculous. $18.50 Chicken Pad Thai was definitely not worth it. They don’t even put lemons or lime with the meal to push as much margin per dish. No thank you.

Google
Yo !Just wanted to share something amazing with y’all - my coworker suggested trying Original Thai NOHO Restaurant, and it was the best recommendation ever! I tried the panang curry beef with a side of steamed rice and it was the best I've ever had! Definitely a 10 out of 10!

Google
Got the spicy basil lunch special with won ton soup. A bit of a soupy mess. Barely basil but tons of Thai chilis. Not a lot of flavor outside of the chilis. $2 up charge for shrimp and had four pieces. Wontons were a bit heavy but you get two of them and the broth was mostly warm cabbage juice. Should’ve taken a photo with everything but the veggies were just a quarter of a pepper and maybe a quarter of an onion. You have to pay a tip to check out online for pick up only service. The egg roll was alright at least!

Food was amazing, service was amazing, very affordable, definetly worth it if your craving some good thai food.

Google
We found this place about two weeks ago, and no joke, we've gone like 6 times since. It was a happy accident we found it and now are addicted. If I could give 37 stars I would. I am one of the pickiest eaters you'll ever meet and Thai food is my fave. I have the hardest time finding Thai places I like, and often they are inconsistent in their food you receive from time to time. So far, we've tried Pad Se Ew, Pad Thai, Hot Chicken, and Chow Mein and EVERY SINGLE ONE was soooo good. My fave is the chicken Pad Thai (expert tip, ask for a little extra sauce). I also LOVE the salad with their dressing. They have the freshest crispy lettuce. I don't eat salads and I crave theirs. My husband, who loves most all food and flavors also loves this place so it's not just for us picky eaters. On top of it all, they have lunch specials Mon thru Fri that are 12 bucks for the main meal, rice, egg roll and a salad. It's Saturday now and I'm counting the minutes til Monday. :P

Yelp
It's hard to find authentic Thai food that will give you home cooked meals. Thai dishes are typically a little sweeter to taste. And this didn't disappoint in that. I prefer northern Thai that is more boastful in flavor & a lot spicer. I ordered their papaya salad and asked to make it spicy (10 peppers) this came NOT spicy at all and lacked any flavor. Got the spicy catfish, this came NOT spicy at all. Got sticky rice where I thought you can't go wrong. I couldn't eat even half of it cause it was so hard like it's been cooked and re warmed up several times. My ancestors would be rolling in their grave if I ever served sticky rice like this. Service was good & I would say that was the only thing I did enjoy. Ambiance was good. Wish I could say it was a better tasting experience but it wasn't. I almost wanted to order something else but didn't even want to risk it.

Yelp
Little hole in the wall places had amazing food and it was definitely up to par! The owner was very friendly, would come back to this spot

Yelp
Every dish I've had here has been 10/10. One of the best most authentic pad Thais and curry! The portions and prices are amazing as well. The sauces that come with the chicken sate was to die for! I always get medium or spicy and it's the perfect heat. My favorite Thai food in noho. Definitely recommend the fresh whole coconut. Great lunch specials! Service is great, very sweet and attentive. Parking: there's a lot in the back, 50 cents per hour until after 6, I believe. There's lots of street parking as well. Overall, recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Yelp
Looking for a new go to Thai place and we decided to try this place out for lunch on a Sunday. Staff was very friendly and the food was great! Ready in 15 minutes and piping hot even after getting it home. We ordered chicken pad Thai, chicken pad see ew, chicken satay, and two Thai teas. Everything tasted delicious and fresh. Well seasoned and their spicy sauce is delicious. Portions were good and prices were reasonable. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
We had dinner here tonight and I must say, it was quite delicious! We had vegetarian and meat dishes and both were well prepared. Great service and I loved the cashew nut chicken dish!

Yelp
Such an amazing mom & pop shop. The thai food here is amazing, the customer service is amazing, & the spot from the inside is cute! I honestly don't have more pictures of the food my friend & I ordered because as soon as it got to the table we devoured it! We got their lunch special that is from like 11am-3pm or something like that, & it was a great amount of food for the price of about $13 or $14 dollars! In this economy, that's a win!! Will definitely be going back, amazing & tasty place!

Yelp
The food is amazing here. Everything is very authentic and the taste and quality is one of the best I have ever had. They also do excellent catering for large parties. Asked for Ban. He is awesome.

Yelp
Found a bag in my food owner wont take responsibility or offer a real compunction! Says everything about the kitchen. Staff couldn't even understand the language. If you try to get sick you can go there.

Yelp
Was in an unfamiliar part of town so Yelped to find lunch. This place had great reviews and reasonable prices. The GF and I each had one of the 10 (or so) lunch specials. They came with choice of rice (white or brown), spring roll, soup & salad. For $13 until 3:pm. And we both took home 1/2 the meal. Everything was excellent, along with the service. Only issues: Lots of cilantro (not mentioned in menu) and I'm allergic. Chicken panang (my absolute favorite) is not a lunch special (but it is on the regular menu). Some of the help speaks no English but they got someone to ask what we wanted. Parking lot was full and on-street parking was a challenge. Will def be back again when in that neighborhood. The GF said we should go back even if it's a special trip!

Yelp
This place is small but so quaint and very clean. It's perfect for a quick lunch or a simple date night. The service was kind and very patient. The kitchen was busy attending guest inside and taking quite a few to go orderers. There was a bit of a language barrier but our attendant gave a genuine and earnest effort to understand what we were asking. We ordered our food and it came out relatively quickly. I would say, within 10 mins. Everything I had was delicious. My friend ordered the salmon curry. I didn't get a pic of their plate as they destroyed it first. This was one of the first times I've gone out to eat and didn't need a to go box. I ate all of my food and my friend did as well. I have a peanut allergy so I was worried about eating here. I can safely say, I'm aye ok! I will be coming back. This was a place that despite being a restaurant, it felt like great home cooked food--made with care and love. Great service, reasonably priced good food and they worked with my allergy.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE. It's so cutely decorated. Food was absolutely delicious and came out super quick. Service was amazing as well. They're all super nice.

Yelp
Really delicious quality Thai food. Everything is made well and delicious. Their pad Thai and curry dishes and soups are all top notch. We've ordered from a lot of different Thai spots and this is our current favorite. The great reviews are there for a reason. It's a bit of a hole in the wall and I probably brought dine in but perfect for pickup!
google avatar

Laura N.

Yelp
We started going here for take out while we were watching White Lotus and it quickly became a local favorite! The staff are super nice and welcoming. The food is really good and quickly served. They have great pad Thai, curries, and noodle dishes. Their prices are very affordable especially for the quality of food!

Yelp
I was sad to leave our favorite Thai food place behind after moving 200 miles away. In comes Original Thai NoHo! WOW the flavors of all their dishes are something I'm still trying to describe with more words than delicious and amazing. Soups? Great Apps? Great Curry? Great Service? Great Everything is made fresh and it shows, the taste and the flavors comfort you in a special way regardless of the dish or side you get. Hands down the best Thai food I've had in over a decade!

Yelp
Amazing pineapple fries rice chicken it so good . If you come to Original Thai you should try this.

Yelp
The food is absolutely delicious, the service and the portion size. These days with the cost of food, I look at can I eat on this meal more than 1x. I came previously and I ate on the pad Thai 3x. I'm here for lunch and I'm sure I can eat on this a 2nd time. For $11.95 pad Thai, white rice, wonton soup and an egg roll. Sorry I was starving when the food came and took a picture after the fact.

Yelp
Placed an order to go here for the shrimp Pad Thai and the Drunken Noodles with chicken. Friendly person took my order and said they would see me soon. Took the food home and heated it up maybe an hour later. I got the Pad Thai, which was different - tasty but the whole thing was one color, which was strange to me. My husband got the drunken noodles, which I tried and thought was good. Overall it was good but not great. I feel like the Pad Thai is the test of a good Thai restaurant, and it was just okay.
google avatar

Dani M.

Yelp
I loved my food!! Great pricing for the quantity of food. I ordered take out. I ordered: Cozy shrimp 10/10 Cream cheese wontons 10/10 Egg rolls 5/10 -they weren't bad. But they were great. Pad see ew 9.5/10 - I added beef, which was good and tender, but lack flavor. I'd get it again with different meat.
google avatar

Zoya M.

Yelp
The food is okay, it was a little too sweet. Service was good and fast they made a little mistake on our order but they fixed it nicely and kindly
google avatar

Yelp
I did a restaurant scene here for my short film and then fed the crew here. Staff and food was great and enjoyed by all!

Sandy L.

Yelp
$12 for lunch. Heck yeah! And it was good! Fresh made to order, friendly staff. Also came with a salad. I'll be back!

Kevin F.

Yelp
I'm here 2 times a week getting the bomb lunch special! Staff is really friendly and super well priced! I love it!
google avatar

Karen K.

Yelp
The staff and food are top tier. Their pork jerky is to die for. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. Definitely a hidden gem. Love that I stumbled upon it.

Manny S.

Yelp
Gross. Not sure how a place so basic and bland can exist today especially at top dollar prices.
google avatar

Denise T.

Yelp
My go-to neighborhood Thai spot. Love that they use the extra wide noodles for pad see ew. Yellow curry tastes delicious and homemade. Their Pad Thai is also great.
google avatar

Zach H.

Yelp
This place is perfect for your Thai cravings! The menu is easy to order and the food was ready super fast! Love not having to wait forever for a meal. The pad sea ew perfect with chicken. Their original Thai egg rolls are a great compliment!

Michelle M.

Yelp
Great food. Good and fresh ingredients. The owner, Ben, is a wonderful and caring person with lots of hospitality. Would recommend !

Yelp
What an awesome, cozy small Thai joint it was! We had pinapple curry, egg rolls, Pad see ew and finished with mango sticky rice. We loooooved them all! Service: Awesomeness! We opened the store and closed the store, but they refilled our water periodically and small chat here and there with smiles. They were ao nice! Ambience; Very nice and cozy without overly decorated.wall. i loved the simplicity yet made us feel home. Parking: There is a public parking right next to the restaurant. The pay meter didn't work well. We tried a few times and made it work. There will be no recipt coming out from the machine, so we took a picture when it says the payment was approved.. It says 2h max, but it seems to be we can park there all day according to the restaurant's owner. We didn't get any tickets after parking there 3h.. We will baaaaack for sure!!

Yelp
Ate here once about 20 years ago, then decided to try it again after seeing the re-grand opening banner. Came in with 3 friends after a screening for a light Thai dinner of crispy chicken dumplings with two kinds of dip, Pad Thai noodles, and Pad See Ew (meat was a little dry). Generous portions enough to share among four. Reasonable prices. Overall, food was good, but not exceptional. Good service. Nice ambiance. Street parking, parking lot next door. Will return to try other dishes!

Robert S.

Yelp
This place is horrible. DO NOT ORDER HERE!! I decided to try it and order the basics. Red Curry. Not only did it taste gross but it didn't even come with a side of rice. The two are synonymous at any other Thai restaurant you go to. I was also in the mood for desert so I ordered a lava cake. Not only was there nothing lava about it but it came in it's presealed plastic pouch and plastic bowl that you are supposed to microwave it in. Absolutely unacceptable by any means. I hope this place closes because the food here is not meant for people and I wouldn't even give to my pets.

Yelp
Best really fresh Pad Thai in town! A small restaurant with 10 tables, but BIG on taste! I order with chicken and shrimp along with a side of Cilantro! Deee- Lish! Fast service-- eat in or take out! I'm a regular here now! Help support NoHo small businesses!

Yelp
This place is the real thing . The food and service is amazing , 10's across the board !!!!

Yelp
Love their food best in North Hollywood. Love the Thai ice tea, pad thai ew and there war wonton soup

Edilberto V.

Yelp
Super friendly staff, fast service, amazing food. I really recommend the shrimp chow mein, pot stickers and the tom kha soup. 10/10

Sage M.

Yelp
I must write something to review it. Truly it wasn't rancid so I don't want to be mean. But the current rating is not representative of its quality.
google avatar

Yelp
Very pleasant little neighborhood Thai restaurant. A neat little place, service was prompt and friendly. Food was fine and hit the spot for us. No beer license which was disappointing but saved us a little money. Chicken sate was fine. Pad see ew noodles was the favorite dish of the night. Prik King had a little heat, combo fried rice and Mongolian beef, we will have dinner for another couple of nights.

Yelp
Food tastes great. Service is amazing. The atmosphere is fantastic. The owner is almost always here and will carry on a conversation. A really nice person.

Yelp
Decided to give this place a try while on a walk and wow am I so happy to have discovered my new favorite Thai spot! So delicious as well as affordable, my family and I will be back

Yelp
So I ordered 3 different dishes. The pad Thai was red/orange looking, never seen it done like this ever. The chicken fried rice was burnt therefore not really edible. The only thing that was eatable was the kee mao.

Marcy G.

Yelp
The food is great here. However, make sure you order for delivery thru Grubhub - because if you order it online from their site - a $28 meal will cost you $44. On Grubhub (with a Amazon Prime membership) the exact same order for delivery was $34.
google avatar

Chase M.

Yelp
I ordered online. Didn't get any confirmation didn't feel right about it. Called the restaurant to make sure and they have an order completely different. So I ask can I get what I'd like? By the time I call my order you're already gonna make the food! Can you change it? They said no. The food is not correct and I know you can change the food order. It's Your business. I got chicken noodles... All they have to do is change the order and say I'm very sorry let me see what I can do so I have a happy client that comes back" ...... welcome to 2023 No one cares anymore. Your app is very bad. You should change it.

Yelp
Guess whose back? Back again? No, I'm not talking about our good pal, Eminem (besides, did he ever REALLY leave?). I'm talking about one of the best Thai spots in the East San Fernando Valley, Original Thai. This local favorite held a long-time, unassuming spot in a plaza alongside a 7/11 at the Tujunga/Riverside(Camarillo) intersection next to the 101 on-ramp. Although this ex-location sounds sketch - it didn't stop Original Thai from being AMAZING. Unfortunately, they closed for a couple years with their real estate being taken over by another - and probably incomparable - Thai eatery. But Original Thai is back! Back again! Cue the Hallelujah-chorus because Original Thai has reopened after its hiatus in the Noho Arts District near the Magnolia/Lankershim intersection and changed its moniker to Original Thai Noho. Rest assured, it IS indeed the same owners, staff, etc (trust me, I asked). Don't ask me why they closed and moved (rent issues?) because I have no clue and am simply thanking my lucky stars that they are back and in the same general, mileage area. This location is busy-busy and tricky with parking but street meters and some paid lots are available. Luckily, I live within walking distance. My re-introduction to Original Thai Noho took place as a delivery Uber Eats order so I can't comment on the esthetics of the restaurant or the customer service of the staff (although I DO plan to dine-in) but I can firmly attest to my experience still being absolutely orgasmic. Original Thai's entire menu has always been perfection. You couldn't go wrong with whatever you chose whether a soup, a curry, a rice or noodle dish. Even with everything being delicious; they were known for their Pad Thai being the biz-ness. I know, I know: simple dish, let's be more unique. But I swear to you that Original Thai's Pad Thai was always A+++. I noticed on the Uber Eats app that Original Thai Noho was running an Uber Eats BOGO special on the Pad Thai ($14). So, that means two orders of Pad Thai for $14 (plus taxes and the Uber Eats fees). That is the deal of the century! At least in LA which is soooo expensive! You bet your bottom dollar that is what I ordered. You can select your own protein for the Pad Thai (chicken, beef, tofu, shrimp which is extra) and I decided on the chicken. My Pad Thai order was ready quite quickly and I received beautifully presented (even in the Styrofoam containers); steaming entrees of Pad Thai. After a quick stir, I served myself up and holy moly! Original Thai may have closed and re-opened but they did NOT change their recipe or expense the quality of their offerings because this was the BEST Pad Thai, EVER! Not too oily like most other Thai restaurants tend to fall, not overly peanut butter-y but a perfectly delicate and yet flavorful noodle dish. The chicken was the right size and tenderness and Original Thai Noho did not skimp on its inclusion. The amazing part was the smoked flavor! I don't know how exactly they give the Pad Thai that smoked flavor but that the element that took this over the top and made it so damn good. The only complaint and this is me stretching to find a fault with Original Thai Noho; is that I would have liked a lime slice to sprinkle the Pad Thai with some acid. If that BOGO deal wasn't wonderful in itself; Original Thai Noho responded to my Uber Eats "review" with a $3/off coupon on my next order as a thank-you. Are you kidding me?! How incredible are they?! This is exactly what my poor self needs and I will most certainly order again! Original Thai Noho is my new best friend! Original Thai Noho has retained its awesome-ness even with during its time away with excellent deals/prices, large servings, quick service and humble appreciation of customers. To top it off: absolutely wonderful food (seriously, try the Pad Thai!). I will be ordering again through Uber Eats and plan to dine-in, as well. Original Thai Noho is still the OG. Eminem would be proud.

Yelp
I ordered the pad thai and there is an egg shell in it. Gross!! Pad thai does not come with an egg shell. I was lucky i noticed it.

Yelp
This restaurant is one of the best in North Hollywood for Thai food. Their original location used to be in the crazy intersection where Tujunga and Camarillo and Riverside meet next to the 7-Eleven. When we moved to North Hollywood 24 years ago, it was our go to spot, and then another thai place took over that does not compare. Thank God that original thai Noho reopened this location because I won't eat thai anywhere else. So delicious and great happy service

Yelp
Yesss! I love it Thai food very yummyyy Thank you hungry every time here best Thai food

Yelp
Catered to American pallets. Not authentic in the least. It wasn't bad but it had no spice and all the dishes had a lot of sugar. More of an American fast food version of Thai food.
