"The whimsical décor of the Origine is depicted by colourful creatures and plants, setting the scene for a modern restaurant run by Xavier Lizen, who demonstrates great maturity despite his youth. The menu is renewed each month and illustrates the chef’s international and original approach, in which each flavour lives up to expectations." - Michelin Inspector

"At this beautifully renovated farmhouse (formerly the village café), built with red bricks from the Artois region, the ingredients are of certified origin, and chef Maëllie Poynard has plenty of original ideas about how to use them! Judge for yourself: chocolate sauce on the beef accompanied by peach and chard; gherkin on the rhubarb dessert, carrot on the pavlova... Her pairings – sometimes daring – are pitch perfect. As for the decor, it is 100% contemporary. The traditional brasserie, on the same premises, is run by the chef's partner (who works front of house)." - Michelin Inspector

The food taste is not at the balanced/ mature level we expected for this price point (and with such good review. We had high expectation…) Restaurant has good vibes and chef has some cool ideas on food, but still has room for improvement on the way it is executed

On our list for a long time and the food did not disappoint. A very original combination of flavours and a great presentation. The wine list has some great choices! On the downside, the service was not what to expect in a restaurant of this quality and price. First when directed to our table we were left a while on our own and waiting for a menu, only to discover there was a qr-code. A young waiter with little experience brought food without much explanation. Luckily we picked up some of it from the waitress when she was explaining at another table. Also a couple that walked in were shouted at rudely to see if they had a reservation. They left a bit flustered. In my honest opinion a little too loose of a service to pair well with the quality of the food.

A wonderful dining experience in Brussels. Was looking forward for a long time to try this place, and it was an absolute joy. We got the four course dinner, very creative and unique. The attention was superb, the chef and owner shared some shots with us at the end (we stayed till closing time). An excellent option to share time with friends or for a romantic time. The place itself is awesome, with a great design and lovely atmosphere.

We had a wonderful evening at this restaurant. The food was not only very good but also creatively prepared, showcasing a unique flair. We enjoyed the four-course menu at €54, which was a fantastic value. The staff was incredibly friendly and competent, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxing evening. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable meal with excellent service!

Best meal in a long, long time! They blew my mind, literally! It's a 4 course menu (each of the courses has meat/fish AND vegetarian option, except the dessert, but there you have a sweet and slightly salty option) and nothing else. You either take it or leave. They change the menu roughly every 4 weeks, so great for returning customers. The wine selection is huge, with many extremely interesting options. Bread and butter they give you at seating is to die for (we literally asked then for new bread/butter 4 times!!!!) Highly recommended 👌

Had the wasabi maki, squid, chicken and cheese to finish. Maki starter with kimchi was lacking in flavour. Squid dish was great however, as was the chicken main. Service very very slow. We were seated at 19:30 and received our mains by 21:30. Would suggest asking waiters to take care of sections of the restaurant as they mostly seemed to follow each other around, and therefore weren’t sure about who had serviced each table. Service aside, I would go back again!

Had high expectations given the good reviews, but I was a disappointed. - the cold starter (trout) was not good, for my personal taste some thin slices would have been better than a pavé of raw fish - the other dishes were ordinary, best was the main one

Absolutely delicious. I had the vegetarian menu for 20€. The cold cress soup was so fresh and tasty!! Then the cabbage main dish was creative and accompanied with a delicious sauce. The bread and olive oil we got was perfect too. I loved my alcohol-free gin and tonic. Service was a bit slow and they probably could/should consider offering a third option for vegans when it comes to dessert. But I will go back there when I am next in Brussels! We ate outside in the sun but the inside also looked lovely, with lots of plants.

Yelp
Quite enjoyable multi course prix fix lunch with a group of friends. The owner/chef came out to chat with us, and he was genuinely interested and engaged. We also talked about wine, and, BTW, we were allowed to bring our own wine, few bottles from our friend's winery, to taste with very reasonable cork fee. Food was delicious, all the way from appetizer to dessert. It was also quite a departure from standard food and indifferent service places nearby. It wasn't inexpensive place, but not overly expensive, considering the quality of food, presentation, and service.

Yelp
Oh that's a new must do in Brussels...! The concept is simple: fresh ingredients, quality food. 4 course menu, with each time 3 choices for each dish. 4 courses: cold, lukewarm, warm, sweet 3 choices: fish, meat, veggie ... And all of these choices are always amazing! I ended up chosing - surprisingly - 2 veggie options, and they were delicious! We were 4 people and combined probably had almost the 12 options... And every body was blown away by the quality. Wine is affordable too. In total, it's not even expensive if you consider the quality (if I am not mistaken : 35€ + wine).

Yelp
Incredible food and presentation. We ordered the fish and meat dinners ala carte and both were sensational. The tasting menu for 38€ is not a bad way to go if you're hungry. I'm not sure if the menu changes but the dishes we had were exceptional. And, something that's not often commented on-- both the bread AND THE BUTTER (don't know how-- go and you'll see what I mean) were delicious. A must-try if you're in the area.
