"Of Fairfax’s two breweries, Ornery has the more extensive food selection (though shoutout to Chubby Squirrel for offering both poutine and pierogi). Lunch, dinner, and brunch are all options at the full-service restaurant, with a full slate of pizzas, eclectic entrees ranging from jambalaya pasta to schnitzel, and lots of sandwiches." - Missy Frederick, Eater Staff

So the flash fried Brussel sprouts with honey and red pepper flakes are genius. Might be the 2nd best Brussel sprouts i have ever had. I love Brussel sprouts. Perfectly cooked. Sweet of honey and slight heat of the pepper flakes actually brought dish over the top. The jagerschnitzel was good. Like maybe the 4th or 5th best. Well maybe not. Schnitzel was adequately pounded properly breaded as well. The mushroom gravy overpowered the dish with blandness. It needs some apple sweetness for typical schnitzel. Or some pepper flavor. Any flavor would have made it better. The beets were the best part of the dish. I love asparagus but it was disguised in the dish. It was hidden under everything. And it was not necessary but ok. Potatoes were good. A potato pancake might help wrap dish together better with some onion and apple in the Shred. It would tie it together better. The gravy took away from the dish. A spiced apple sauce might have been better flavored with one of your fruit tart beers. The service was great. The bartender gave great help and allowed tastings of different beers. The rise lager was good. Bad with the schnitzel. Lord Vader Imperial stout is S or A tier. Chalice of Goliath Barleywine was strong and well flavored but it is not as good as other American brewery barleywines. I prefer 3 Floyd's barleywine behemoth. Berlin pop was the strangest berliner Weiss that I have ever tasted. I wanted to explore it but knew it was not palatable with the schnitzel. The Fuzzy logic also had good flavors.

I absolutely adore this restaurant. The beer is delicious, the food is amazing, and the staff is so kind. This is a new spot for my partner and I. Thank you guys for all you do 💕

Google
Positives: The staff was great and attentive. The restaurant has a good atmosphere's and it’s clean. The fried pickles were also good. Negatives: I ordered Steak Frites, and on a plate of Steak, Fries and Salad, the steak was by far the worst thing. Very little seasoning, drenched in oil from the chimichurri sauce that had no acidity to cut through all that grease. Very disappointed with it. The beer was okay. I bit more bitter than I expect for non IPA beers. Would love to see IBU units for the beers on the menu.

Excellent food and service. Had the wings and Goat pizza. Faith was great! We’ll be back!

Google
Good service. Family friendly. Am always on the lookout for kid friendly menus, since a lot of times kids will eat very little of a meal you pay $10+ for, so it's great that their kids menu items are free on Monday and Tuesday. I got the burger, which was decent, and kids got spaghetti and pizza both of which they liked a lot. Will definitely go back.

Google
Great beer. Friendly service. High priced food that is just plain greasy and awful. I ordered the Belgian style - Down Wit It. It was awesome just as described. Wheat ale with good aromas and flavors. And it arrived pretty quickly. The waiter was friendly. The gender inclusive toilets were clean. I guess there were just 3 of them. I'm more of a Men's room fan when it comes to breweries because that would ensure better availability. They had multiple TVs with multiple sports on them. I had ordered fried green tomatoes without the beef. The cheese and tomato sauce made it taste a bit sweet. I was expecting a more sour flavor. The fried pickles, although good on the quantity, the ones on the bottom were dripping with oil and the bread skins were just slipping out due to the grease. Didn't expect this sloppy dish for a 11$.

Google
Staff was very attentive, friendly and helpful I came here with a large party during lunch time. Sports bar vibes, great beer selections. I had the bang shrimp that were average and old bay and barbecue wings, the barbecue wings were distasteful I didn’t taste any barbecue. Fries were over cooked my table enjoyed their burgers entrees.

Google
Stopped through for Fairfax restaurant week and tasted a few bears while we were there. The beer selection was decently diverse and after tasting a few, the options were good and strong. The food was average overall. They did well with the pork chop and I did love the amount of vegetables on my plate. Even if they were covered in a glaze. The beef dish was also good but less veggie on the side. Desserts were meh...skip those and get an extra beer instead.

Yelp
Please. Please. Please. Please. Please make the monte Cristo a full time item and not just a monthly special. For all that is good and holy, please do not take this creation away from us. For those who have not been here, imagine your taste buds receiving a mixtape crafted by fergie and Jesus, and that is this sandwich.

Mike M.

Yelp
First time there. Went to an after Mason Madness event. There was a high school reunion there as well so the place was lively. They had a section reserved for GMU folks so a friend and I sat down for a couple beers and food. We both had their Pumpkin Slayer beer which was great. I had the Key West Fish sandwich that was outstanding! Can't remember when I've had such a good fish sandwich. Even though it was busy, the service was great, our server was nice and checked in on us just often enough. Truly enjoyed the experience, and will have to find a way back.

Thuy V.

Yelp
Very solid restaurant brewery in heart of old town Fairfax. Would not originally thought to come here with a family but plenty do during weekend lunch at least. Welcoming with a lot of tvs for sports. Pretty good and broad menu. Food was good but not great so no 5 star for me. Still would come back as its convenient location with a friendly vibe. There are high top section that seems more adult only if wanting to avoid kids. Fried green tomatoes special was good. Roasted beet goat cheese salad is one of my favorite types of salad but this was just ok. Kids burger was good and my kid enjoyed it. I had their hard seltzer with passion fruit flavor which was good.

Yelp
Visiting the area for a concert, we were looking for a fun brewery to pre-game, and settled on OBC- without realizing I had already visited them before post-work training- reviewing my prior feedback, I would say my experience was about the same- we arrived around 7:30 on a random weeknight to an unfriendly staff person directing us to the bar; while last visit we loved our bartender, this visit, despite the place being fairly empty, it was hard to get service. The bartender was pretty focused on his phone, but after a decent wait, I was able to get some samples to try out the variety before buying- the woe of this, we were ignored long enough to miss happy hour for round 2 & the bartender wouldn't budge on timing though it was his fault for not coming over-sad face. their IPAs were good, not enough to buy to go, but more of a 'when in the area stop and drink' kind of good- last time we super loved the food more than the beer & this visit we didn't plan on eating- but re-noting I hyped up their food as a must try place! So overall, average visit- decent offerings, reasonable prices, meh service.

Joe M.

Yelp
I stopped in for some dinner and brews. Excellent experience. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by a friendly, professional bartender who pointed in the direction of some excellent local brews. I ordered a flight of the recommended samples and all were fantastic! I highly recommend the Sommerweizen. Great flavor and very smooth. For dinner I had the Ornery Club sandwich. It was very good. Great food, great brews and good value in a laid back atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday morning for brunch and I wasn't disappointed. We came with a group of 4 adults and 3 children. The service was great, and the staff were accommodating. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles. The chicken was juicy on the inside and crispy and flavorful on the out. My one complaint was the waffle was still a little doughy. Not a deal breaker. I'll be back.

Natalie A.

Yelp
Almost nonexistent service. Bitterballen was very gooey. Mayo served as the dip. Chicken empanadas were bland. Cilantro avocado sauce saved the dish. Monte cristo was phenomenal. Jambalaya pasta was very oily but had lots of shrimp, chicken and sausage. My son demolished the cheese pizza. Had a couple of warm glasses of beer. Had a couple cold ones which were good.

Alyson M.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Friday night. The place was only 1/4 full so we easily found two seats at the bar. We ordered two beers and watched some sports on the tvs. The bartender did not seem happy to be at work and had no energy. We didn't even finish our beers before we moved on to another place. This place could use a facelift to be more inviting. It's a great location but the atmosphere is tired. I did enjoy my beer.

L I S A H.

Yelp
I've moved away, but needed to stop in. Took my friend here for Father's Day Brunch. Totally enjoyed my Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict. Cooked perfectly - a little embarrassed to admit I ate the whole thing, so very delicious along with a few Mimosas. My friend chose Steak n Eggs, steak cooked exactly to his liking....washed down with Titos Bloody Marys....food is tasty as ever, just as my taste buds remembered.....service is always wonderful, most pleasant and relaxing atmosphere too !!!

Shernell H.

Yelp
This is such a cool spot that has soo many cool events such as comedy shows, bingo, trivia, and paint nights. We went for their FREE comedy show and had a good ole laugh. I only had a drink here. It began with DB... can't remember the name and unfortunately, I didn't capture it. The waiter was being very honest when she said the drink was strong. The good thing is it was still very much drinkable. Our waiter was very attentive and patient since I couldn't make up my mind what to drink. Parking seems to be abundantly available with street parking and garage parking. I will definitely be back for more of their events.

Mike R.

Yelp
I love this place. So many beers to choose from. All have been really good, but my favorite is Austrian Dreams. It's a mellow one, that's balanced perfectly. I know others whom feel the same way. If Mike is working the bar, he is a connoisseur of beers. Also he's a great guy, and the set up of this place is fun. Always entertaining without crazy drama. The food is quite delicious. I usually go with an appetizer with the cold brew. Seating is excellent, and a easy going group of folks allows for everyone to relax. Service is exceptional. Also I like trivia night. This has a bit of something for everyone, and I really dig this establishment.

Tifany B.

Yelp
Good service at the bar! The flights were fun and the Italian goat and Reuben are must tries. Nice quiet spot for lunch :)

Melanie S.

Yelp
Delicious food, pleasant service. Clean, comfortable. Families and groups all welcome. Sign says bingo on Wednesdays, trivia on Thursday. Looking forward to returning, thanks!

Rick G.

Yelp
I popped in for lunch on a Saturday. The burger was very tasty - buttered and grilled bun, thinly sliced red onions, fresh tomato slice, lettuce, melted cheddar, and a well seasoned hamburger patty cooked to a proper medium. Just the best burger I have had in months and what I was in the mood for. The housemade potato chips are a favorite. Ornery's beers are delicious and the Pilsener and Vienna did not disappoint. Excellent visit.

Allie N.

Yelp
Happy hour mon-fri 3-6pm Great staff and management. Pointed out that their system was not taking the right happy hour off (very minor by like .60cents) and they insisted to treat us to complementary beers (despite our protest that we didn't deserve 2 beers over .60cents) We are here all the time, so I am more familiar with pricing and it was an honest error!

Klara C.

Yelp
Great brewery and friendly staff. Plenty of parking and there was a food truck outside. I ordered a flight of 4: Light of Cologne Austrian Dreams Ornery Fest Ornery Bastard All the beers were good and I didn't have a favorite or a preference. They were all fairly easy to drink. They have some games and darts here. Great place and definitely recommend coming here.

Kristin R.

Yelp
Thank you Max amd your incredible staff! Max helped me plan my husband's surprise 50th birthday party on 1 weeks notice. The food and drinks were amazing. This was by far the easiest birthday party I have ever planned. Max took care if everything! His staff was super attentive to our guests. All we had to do was eat, drink, amd enjoy ourselves. Thank you again for making the night perfect.

Ryan C.

Yelp
Decided to come through since it's been a while and I wanted to use the Birthday reward I had. I forgot they had moved down a level to a smaller space but it was still pretty spacey and not too busy. We only planned to come down for dinner but turns out they have bingo on Wednesdays so we stuck around for that. Back when Ornery was still in Woodbridge, they made the absolute best nachos I have ever had, hands down. I saw they had totchos on the menu so we wanted to try it but unfortunately, they did not have the necessary ingredients. We ordered the Bavarian Pretzel, Pacific Waves BBQ Wings, and a Cubano for food. Beer wise, we got the Harbor Haze and Wild Weasel IPAs. The Pretzel, even though very salty, was huge, nice and buttery and the beer cheese went nicely. The wings were solid, crispy and the bbq sauce was solid but didn't taste the beer. The Cubano was great to share, still big and they didn't skimp on the meat at all. The fries were still nice and crispy. Bingo was pretty fun and kept us there for much longer than we expected (they knew what they were doing). We even ordered a couple more drinks too. For my birthday reward dessert, we got a peanut butter cup pie which was so rich but very good, couldn't finish it along with our Cubano. Service was pretty decent and the Bingo game was a pretty good time. Hopefully the next time we come back they have totchos or even the nachos again. Also, please come back to Woodbridge one day!

Yelp
July 2021 - COVID Review: My friends and I came here one afternoon to have some food and drinks while enjoying their outdoor seating in the heart of Old Town Fairfax. They have a pretty extensive food menu! Service was also really attentive despite us sitting outside too. There's also a number of drinks to choose from and I love the way that their beer flights are served!

Raymond B.

Yelp
Came here for a night out and everything was fabulous! My server Dmitriy was super personable and gave us spectacular service as well as great recommendations. Made me feel at home even though I have never been here before. The food and beer was great as well and I will definitely be coming back with friends in the near future!

Marcus D.

Yelp
Why isn't this place busier than it is? There's easy free parking in the garage behind the restaurant and a nice menu and creative drink offerings in addition to beers that they craft. Not usually into sweet drinks, I had one of the mixed drinks with Kill Devil Pecan Rum and it was awesome. Worth coming here just for it! Nice selection of dishes like poke bowls and other appetisers.Service was excellent. This is a place that you drive by if you transverse through Old Town Fairfax. Looks like a George Mason hangout but don't think it is. Local folks were there, a good mix, even families with younger kids. I'll be back for sure. Try this place!

Tamara D.

Yelp
Wow! We loved it here. We went to George Mason event and this was very close by and allowed us to avoid the traffic and sit back and relax with good food, good drinks, beer and good vibes. Our waiter was amazing and attentive and our food came out good and smoking hot. We would definitely recommend and return. My pizza had caramelized onions, portobello mushrooms, roasted shiitake, and roasted garlic with mozzarella and basil which came together perfectly. I could totally see being a regular here if I lived closer. Will definitely recommend and return soon.

Susan L.

Yelp
Stopped here with the doggie for an early dinner tonight... there is plenty of outside seating, but it's on a busy street corner, with music on, so not terribly quiet. We got the Italian Goat Pizza -yummy! - and also the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, which was slightly overcooked, dry and chewy in places. But the sandwich was large and dripping with sauce, make sure to ask for extra napkins!! I liked that I could get a nice little salad with my sandwich, for $2 extra. Who needs fries with a sandwich that big?!?! Beer selection is good. Great pizza, good food, service was decent. Not fancy, but it's gonna be our go-to place for pizza in the future.

Mike M.

Yelp
I went for the first time yesterday with two other people. We ordered different things, and everyone thought the food was excellent. The beer was good, and I bought a 4-pack to go. The beer was a little pricey. The food prices are competitive. The service was a little slow. The menu selection was good. Good ambiance. I'll be back.

Sophie A.

Yelp
Great place! So many fun events too! Just went to their Wednesday bingo night and we had a blast! Great selection of food and drinks!

Cathy R.

Yelp
Food was good, we got a pizza, it was a little greasy. The two beers we got were really good. Our waiter was really nice and attentive. It was a nice place. Lots of TVs.

Katie B.

Yelp
First things first. Our server Ryan was awesome. Friendly, polite, attentive with being overbearing. There are lots of good beer choices. The food was really good. It's probably best to share the large portions. Then came the check. There is a "cash total due" and "non-cash total due." If you opt for the "non-cash" option you are charged your total. If you pay cash, you get a 5% "discount" We asked Ryan about it, he said it was due to credit card company fees and he offered to get a manager to explain. Thinking we were not the first nor the last to question this, we told him that was not necessary. Our "cash total due" was 164.70. Total amount of cash on hand among our party was $55. We had not been informed about this "discount" prior to ordering. I'm not sure how we would have played it if we had been, but dropping that information with the bill left us with no choice-- had to suck it up. On which total due do you determine the server's tips? Aren't credit cards surcharges on businesses part of their cost of doing business? Is the aim of this to get we the customers angry at the credit card companies and feel sorry for the proprietor? IF, we ever go back, we will bring cash.

Ajay M.

Yelp
Good food and good beers. Nice spot to check out if you're in the area. There is plenty of covered parking in the adjacent garage and it's free of charge. Ample seating inside and out. Kid friendly as well. I recommend the Pacific Waves or Harbor Haze IPA. Food-wise I recommend the Cuban or the Beer Burger. The only downside was that the kids PB&J was heavy on the bread and light on the PB and J. Overall nice place.

Gray L.

Yelp
Went today for restaurant week. Billy our server was attentive and did a good job. I got the empanadas as an appetizer and they were delicious and it was clear they were homemade. I had the salmon with grits and Brussels sprouts as my main and that was also very good. For desert I got the maple rum bread pudding. It was good. It was denser than other bread puddings I've had, and I personally prefer a crunchier exterior. I would definitely eat here again.

Mike B.

Yelp
Chose this place because of their selection of local craft beers, and based on the recommendation of someone in our party. I was rather disappointed. We went on a Friday night around 8:30 pm. It was busy, but not packed. We had no wait to be seated, and the server took drink orders quickly. So far so good. Drinks came and food orders were placed. We had 4 in our party. We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer (very good). 2 in the party ordered pizza (Big Island and Spicy Chix). One ordered a Poke bowl, and I had the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Here is what everyone had to say about their foods. Big Island pizza - toppings were good, but the sauce was not. It tasted like tomato sauce from a can of Chef Boyardee pasta. Spicy Chix pizza - OK, but not great. For something labeled "spicy" there was very little heat. Poke Bowl (tuna, I think) - really good. She liked the flavor and combination of ingredients. Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich - The chicken was juicy and tasted very good. But, NO spice or heat whatsoever. How can you label something "Nashville Hot" and have ZERO heat? The beer I choose was the Orneryfest - their version of Oktoberfest. It was very good! Smooth, malty and slightly sweet. I really enjoyed it and ordered a second one. However, I wasn't able to enjoy the second one because the server never brought it. She must have forgotten I ordered it, and by the time she returned to the table everyone was done. So I just gave up and paid the check. Overall this was a very disappointing experience. I had high expectations that were not met. I would go back and sit at the bar for a beer, but I will not eat the again. The food was just not great. And they could certainly improve service.

Noelle K.

Yelp
I've visited many times and I've never run into any issues. Service is always great and waitstaff is friendly and helpful. The food is good and the menu has a large variety of items. The restaurant is always clean and I like that you have the option to sit outside.

Jerry Y.

Yelp
We held my wife's 60th surprise party at Ornery! Let me just say the we will hold all future events here! Max was amazing along w all his crew! They are more then accommodating to everything we wanted to do... Service was amazing... this review may sound like we loved this place... well we do!

Alvin B.

Yelp
Love the pizza here. Ate outside here a couple of times during Phase 3. Never had trouble getting a table even on a Saturday evening. Waiters wear mask. Service is prompt. I had Pizza, the Garden Balsamic. The Spicy Chix is recommended to. And if you fill up on beer, you'll get two meals out of this one pie. Wife had the Roasted Beet and Shrimp Salad. She liked it. I wouldn't touch it but that's just me.

Amy P.

Yelp
Enjoyed Restaurant Week lunch today. The service was great, and the suggestions from our server were spot on. I really enjoyed the pimiento cheese on the fried green tomatoes. The pickled onions were crunchy and fresh. The bitterballen was different than we expected, but so good. I loved the curry in it. My jambalaya pasta was full of shrimp, andouille sausage and chicken. The sauce had the perfect amount of heat. Didn't like the Parmesan cheese on top, though. The large piece of carrot cake was moist and delicious. Will definitely return to try other things.

Namu O.

Yelp
Pros 1) location 2) variety of food choices 3) variety of drink choices Cons 1) service 2) some of the entrees/appetizers are tasteless We like Ornery because of its location. They have plenty of food and drink choices. However their service is always slow. But if you are just getting some beer with friends we don't really care for the service right? Their hummus was awful. But they got good wings.

Su T.

Yelp
Always so great to grab seats at the bar, in the middle of the action! Would love to get the recipe for the brussels sprouts, perfectly roasted with honey, not overcooked, tender and moist inside. New beer selections, with balanced ingredients and flavors. Yum!

Stephanie L.

Yelp
This venue worked out very well for our group! All of the appetizers and pizzas we ordered were very good. We had a stand-and-mingle in the bar area, and the waitstaff were patient despite our group often being in their way when they needed to pass through with orders. The location is in the very cute Fairfax historic downtown area.

Kevin G.

Yelp
Expensive good but amazing beers, service is excellent they help and attend to all your needs, environment is nice with all the big screen tv's

Michael L.

Yelp
Went based upon the reviews. Felt a little more like a college bar than a brewpub. Beers were solid. Server was very good and attentive. Shroom pizza was good as was her fish sandwich. Parking a bit of a PITA. Probably won't go back but no reason you shouldn't check it out.

Anna D.

Yelp
The best selection of locally crafted beers and great food to complement them! My favorite is the custom grilled cheese, but everything else is good, too! It's really cool that you can get any beer canned to go and they make awesome gifts. I recommend trying their beer flights or their Virginia spirits flight. It has a vibrant, classy atmosphere and live music on the weekends. It's a great place for groups and the best part is their friendly and attentive staff. I love being able to joke with their staff, and they remember you! Daily Events and Specials: Monday - Trivia night & $10 growler fills all day (64 ounces of beer); Tuesday - kids eat free; Wednesday - Bingo & $5 burger night; Thursday - All day Happy Hour 11am-9pm & discounts off wine & appetizers; Friday & Saturday - live music starting at 8pm; Sunday - brunch special. They hold special holiday events as well. Join their email list and if you're a beer connaisseur or go there often, you'll love their Mug Club for discounts on drinks and food and access to special events. INSIDE: Aside from having about 20+ TVs so you can watch any sports game or show from the bar or any table, they also have a jukebox and 2 casino game machines. Their bathrooms are always clean. Free parking in the garage that is connected to them. There are 2 Entrances - one on both sides of the block. Sometimes, they have live music and events in the outside surrounding areas, too.

Kayla K.

Yelp
Corey is a very attentive and generous manager! He was so polite and welcoming to my friends and I during our visit! A++++ service!

Mike T.

Yelp
We arrived in the early afternoon and there was not many people there. We went with a small group and ordered a Balboa pizza, Jagerschnitzel, Sausage and Pepperoni pizza, and beef burgers. The pizzas were quite good, tasty, and surprisingly large. The Jagerschnitzel came with asparagus, red cabbage, and mashed potatoes and was cooked perfectly. The burgers were juicy and delicious. Our server was pleasant and spent time talking with us. He was quick to see if we wanted anything. The flight of beer was the way to go here versus ordering a pint as the price for a flight was relatively cheap as compared to some places and all the beers were tasty. Highly recommend.

Jeff C.

Yelp
I used to go to Ornery's Woodbridge location quite a lot, and I was sorry to see them go. But I'm happy to say they're back.. well, sort of. Ornery's beer is just as delicious as it always was. I had a hearty oatmeal wit and a crisp Pilsneresque beer. These brews were refreshing and made to be paired with some yummy pub grub. I ordered some honey glazed brussel sprouts. These oven roasted beauties were loaded with nutty flavor, the perfect companion to my oatmeal wit. My only slice of sadness came when I learned that they had taken the fabulous Ornery Balls off the menu. The risotto Ornery Balls were always my appetizer go to, and I hope that they bring those culinary gems back soon. All things considered, it is great to have Ornery back on the brewery scene. And I look forward to sampling some of their future craft masterpieces.

Neal E.

Yelp
Visited Ornery Beer Company at their new City of Fairfax location recently on a Sunday afternoon. I had visited Ornery once before when they were located in Woodbridge. Parked in the parking garage behind the building that Ornery is located in. I sat at the end of the bar and ordered a tasting flight: Down Wit It Belgian White Ale (4.8% ABV) Occoquan Oats Amber Ale (6.4% ABV) Dark Seduction Porter/Schwarzbier Hybrid (6.3% ABV) Lord Vader's Imperial Stout (10.6% ABV) The Bull IPA (6.4% ABV) Pacific Waves IPA (7.1% ABV) The Dark Seduction was tasty, but my absolute favorite is the Lord Vader's Imperial Stout! Rich, dark, chocolatey, boozy - delicious! This is also a full service restaurant - so a full food menu is available for the hungry. Service was good!

Marissa D.

Yelp
Great beer and great vibes! The long awaited predecessor to a very lame Greene Turtle, this is the kind of local flavor downtown Fairfaxians (trying it out) have been craving. This brew pub was originally located near IKEA in Prince William county, so they've been crafting beers and getting them just right for a while now. We came in with our baby, which was totally welcome. There's plenty of space, including enormous booths that are big enough to fit a baby travel seat. My husband and I wanted to try a lot of different things, so we split a flight of 6 beers for $12. They have some local guest beers, but we wanted to try their own (they had 8). My favorites were the Down Wit It, Occoquan Oats, and the Dark Seduction. The brewer, Ferdinand, came over and chatted with us about his story. He went over to England and learned to brew over there. He came back and opened Ornery with a British theme, and it's been a huge hit ever since! He also gave us a taste of the Ornery Like a Fox Beer, which was a collaboration with Mad Fox Tavern in Falls Church. It was great! We also chatted with Max, who I believe was one of the managers. He was friendly and funny. So was our server. Everyone was so easy to talk to; it's easy to imagine that this is a place that will have regulars. Parking was a piece of cake, even with a baby! It's attached to a four level parking garage with an elevator. We didn't try the food because we'd already eaten, but I was intrigued. They have a diverse menu, and I'll definitely have to get bread pudding for dessert some time.

Yelp
One of the best fish and chips I've ever had. All of my friends enjoyed their meals. Burgers and grilled chicken. The beers were tasty. We had multiple samplers. And we all liked what we tried. Staff was friendly; a great experience!

Yelp
This is definitely a good spot for any time of the day as their brunch menu and cocktails are amazing! I ordered the Napoli Pizza and the strawberry shady quencher. Good food, drinks and great service!

Yelp
Ornery is a solid option for big groups with a range of tastes. We've hosted birthday parties there, and they were great with a wild group of preteens. I also appreciate that there are more vegetarian options that you'd expect at a pub (the black bean burger is solid, and those fries... oh my...), and the servers are super friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Very good from apps, entrees to dessert!! The apps were great the fried green tomatoes and the bitterballen we flavorful. The pizza was more than I could handle! The pizza had chorizo, tomatoes, goat cheese and poblanos, very tasty!! The dessert was spot on!!
