"Most good food buffs agree that Japanese chefs can be relied on to produce truly outstanding French cuisine. At Ōrtensia, the Gallic menu is sprinkled with just the right dose of Japanese accents. Just like the flower after which it is named (hydrangea in English), the cuisine changes colour with the seasons and weather. A contemporary, minimalist vibe depicts the interior, in which light neutral shades and wood dominate, while mirrors on the walls create a feeling of space. Online bookings only." - Michelin Inspector

11/10. Perfection all the way through. Wow. From the moment i saw the door i had butterflies. The polite gentleman smiled through the window then opened the door and welcomed me in. Gathered my things gracefully (5 shopping bags from a long day) and offered to store my perishable items in the chefs fridge until it is time to leave. My goodness, I hadn't even thought of that. Before even a blink i was being taken care of to the highest degree; i didnt have to use my brain at all. He kindly, and i must again reiterate, gracefully took leadership and began to guide me through my journey. I am so grateful for this introduction He gave me honest and thorough explanations with my wine pairings, which were perfect in terms of pace and pairing. The food? Incredible. I have NO IDEA where the bad reviews are coming from in terms of flavour. This type of food experience is rare to find. Something michelin that is ACTUALLY exceptional, interesting, and mind blowing. No matter what price level or starring. How can i even describe? Flavour explosions, flavours unlike any ive had before (and i eat a lot) never too overwhelming; its an intimate intensity. The tartare is so crazy. Flavours and textures shine, you can taste and feel each element and then they harmonize. Everything in each dish is indespensable; every grain of seasoning needed, size and quantities exactly as they are, is needed The duck: One of the best things i have ever tasted Every element needs each other. Each things seasons its companion Its so beautiful i could cry They are each so strong on their own but need each other to reach the peak Mind blown. Officially Utter perfection. Truly elevated and superb. My bar is heightened now The desserts were too good to explain, it's where I began to actually cry. The palate cleanser was a refreshment of shiso and muscat, I will never forget the sensation of tasting this it was mind blowing. It made me cry, I was just thinking about how passionate and focused the chef is and how he and his team created an experience so beautiful. That they were all able to bring their concept to life. Bursting with life it was. I can't get into every detail of every dish. Every single one was amazing and its own way. You must go for yourself. Additionally, would like to call just another moment of attention over to service. Everyone was lovely, I believe the main person taking care of me that evening is named Romain. What a sun beam of a person. Truly unforgettable his kindness happiness thoughtfulness and passion will never be forgotten by me. Im so grateful, i will be back as soon as possible.

Before serving dessert, they asked if we wanted a cup of tea. They didn't mention anything about the price. In the end, the bill showed that it was 13 euros for one cup. Then I felt that the experience was not good.

Very good experience. However I saw the sake may not be to satisfied as a one-star Michelin restaurant. But the Champagne is good

Initially I was a bit apprehensive to try this restaurant. But I’m so glad I did. The place was decorated in clean, modern lines with just the right lighting, not too dark and not too bright. Conveniently located near the Eiffel Tower with easy access to public transportation. The service was impeccable, very attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes and the wines / sake / cidre. Their service was genuinely friendly, not the forced politeness you often get at upscale restaurants. Even the chef and sous chef came out themselves sometimes to serve the dishes. The food was exquisite! So much attention to detail in the presentation. But also the flavours blended so well together in taste and texture and yet all very delicate. Even their bread and butter was good! We went for the 7-course but I think you’ll even feel full enough with the 5-course, even though you might not think so looking at the size of the dishes. The wines, sake and cidre were also very unique and the sommelier really knew his stuff. Very funny guy too. All in all I’d say this is the best tasting menu I’ve had in Paris so far. Definitely worth the price!

Exceptional experience! 10/10 hands down! Food was meticulous, delicious, and the service was absolutely outstanding. The chef came to talk to every table after the lunch service, and the servers were very observant, patient, and kind. I accidentally dropped my handkerchief when I went to the bathroom and they noticed immediately and put a new one my table before I came back. I also forgot my hat when I left and our server ran out just in time to catch us before we were turning a corner. They were great at communicating in English as well, as my French is non existent, haha. Overall, delicious food with exceptional service! You will surely be more than satisfied with the this wonderful establishment!

What a find!!! We were there last night and it was stunning. The food and the service were masterclass. The food from beginning to the end was full of flavours and surprise. We had the wine pairing and it was delicious. The service was very professional and friendly too ( good luck for the wset level 3 for the japanese waiter 🤞) . We’ve traveled the world and it is definitely one of the best michelin restaurant we have done. 2 ⭐️ is definitely deserved. Well done guys, we will be back 🙌

Special thanks to the best sommelier in town. The quality of the wine paring worth every penny I paid. Food was excellent as mentioned in other reviews.
