The Stanley Closes in Charlotte on May 13, 2022 | Eater Carolinas

"An Italian restaurant that was operated by chef Paul Verica until its closure in December; it preceded his later field-to-table venture and was one of his prior projects mentioned in his farewell statement." - Erin Perkins

The BEST date night experience. My boyfriend and I come here often because it’s always an evening of romance and heavenly food. The meatball polenta appetizer has to be the most comforting food I let my tastebuds try. Besides the devine food, the atmosphere is fantastic with low lighting and its rustic charm, beautiful wooden beams and great service it all comes together so well for a perfect dining experience. They offer a prix where you can try one of everything on the menu (1 app, 1 pasta, 1 entree, 1 dessert) and you can also bring whatever wine you enjoy and they’ll happily uncork for you.

We held a private event at Orto on a weekend afternoon. The food was absolutely wonderful, and all the guests were incredibly complementary. The setting was perfect for an elegant party, and the ambiance was exactly as I envisioned. Would absolutely have another event here in the future.

My boyfriend and I made reservations for Orto for his birthday, and they did not disappoint! Given that I stated we were there for a birthday, when we arrived, our menus said happy birthday, which I thought was very thoughtful and creative. We enjoyed our private seating in this historical building and all the food that was offered. I told all my friends about the bring your own wine option and they cannot wait to try this restaurant as well.

I've been driving by this tiny looking place for years...It looked small from the outside, so I guess I passed it by, because I don't like to feel cramped while eating.. What a mistake that was !! You walk into a foyer, with the Hostess station, and a few  High Top tables, that are along a glass partition wall, adjacent to the main Dining room I added the Picture of Orto, from the Google Map feature, to show how small it looks from the outside There was definitely ample seating, and table space in Main Dining Room.. The bar area is another story.. 9 chairs, a bit tight, but very doable.. There seemed to be a discouraging tone about standing room in the bar, but it is warranted, as the Restroom is at the far end of the Bar... We showed up with 11 people, as they opened the door at 5PM, so 9 of us got seats, 2, happily standing... The 2 times someone needed to pass to get the restroom, were not really a problem, but it is tight. The bartender, AJ, was a charm Very cheerful, helpful, and professional. Easily handled our drinks orders, then moved on to the food orders. Pistacio/Emerald/Shamrock /Martini is shown in picture. The food was spectacular!! I had the Risotto Balls, others had the Eggplant, Lasagna, Frito Misto, Meatball app over polenta, and one had a Bolognese type pasta that was out of this world !! The risotto balls ranked way up there as some of the best I have ever had, with a nice pesto sauce served with them. I added a picture of them. Eggplant people were all raving about it, saying they would order it, again. .. The lone Lasagna eater declared it was the best lasagna she's ever had. Fritto Misto got high praise, as well The meatball App was also a big hit Couldn't be happier that we chose this place as one of our Happy Hour Stops They do not have a Happy Hour, per se, but the appy menu is reasonably priced, and you get a very nice portion, as opposed to other places that pare down the size of the appys during Happy Hour The desserts were equally praise worthy..Tiaramisu and Caramel Cheesecake are shown The highest praise one could give a restaurant is  "I'll be back", and we certainly will. Kudos to AJ, the Chef, and the Establishment in general 36 hours later..Picture shows over 100 positive comments on. Long Island Food and Drink , on Facebook, as well as well over 250 likes or ❤s A week later, 375 likes, or ❤s, and 144 positive comments.. That's impressive Wow

One of my favorite restaurants on the island!! I’ve been here three times and it’s always good with great hospitality.

Best food around hands down Drinks are good and bartender lady is cool You can also bring your own wine

Google
One of our favorite restaurants on the island and we actually drive out of our way for dinner here!!! We absolutely love the price fixed menus. Everything tastes heavenly. Seasonal dishes that are incredibly flavorful. Portions are just right. Everything tastes great from start to finish. On top of that the staff is incredible, professional and friendly. Atmosphere is very cozy but unique. It's in a historic building that makes you feel like you're on vacation somewhere. Orto is the full package experience when it comes to fine dining. Its also the perfect spot to celebrate a special ocassion. Couldn't be bigger fans. Also please never take the squash ravioli off the menu. It's possibly the best we've ever eaten!

Google
Food was good. Desserts not as expected but still tasty.. cheesecake made in house has no crust at all, and brown butter cake is dry but good with the fruit. Overall, we loved the ambience it was very nice. I was a little disappointed when it came to service, we felt neglected and I’m pretty sure the couple next to us felt the same. The food runner was more attentive than the waitress. It’s unfortunate when you have a great experience otherwise but the service is a let down.

Yelp
Another great dinner at Orto. Went with my lovely bride for Valentine night dinner. As always , good service, food selection, and romantic atmosphere. Thank you !!

Yelp
Some things to know before you go: 1. Make a reservation. Small space, very popular. Not sure if walk ins are even a thing here 2. You can bring your own wine, no corking fee. Now, this is all new to me..as i have never been to a place that allows this when there is a full bar available. So when i walked in, i pulled the bottle out of my bag to ask hostess..do i give this to you? Bring to my table? She looked at me like i was an idiot, then said bring to table. Ok. Now i know. 3. If you are a party of 2, chances are very high you will be at a table a mere foot away from the next couple dining. It's a little awkward how close you are IMO. 4. rustic interior, most people dress to impress. Not all out, but nicely dressed. 5. CASH ONLY Food was phenomenal! Everything we had. Apps, meals, dessert. Sooooo good! Server seemed a bit pretentious to me. But maybe because I am NOT that gal, and upscale dining experiences are not a regular thing for me. Will definitely come back. Not a regular spot, but few times per year.

Yelp
Absolutely appalling experience. Avoid Orto at all costs. Let's start with the food: barely passable. It's the kind of meal you tolerate, not enjoy. But even that pales in comparison to the real issue--the shockingly rude, condescending service. This place is women-owned, and as a woman myself, I say this without hesitation: these are some of the most arrogant, unaccountable women I've encountered in hospitality. There's zero professionalism, zero humility, and zero sense of customer service. You ask a basic question--"Why is the food late?"--and instead of a simple "we're backed up," you're fed some nonsensical, patronizing excuse like, "We had to throw the earlier one out because you were five minutes late." Are you serious? Writing to the owner? Don't bother. She's even worse--aloof, dismissive, and clearly uninterested in guest experience. No one ever responded to my message, which explains why the staff feels emboldened to treat customers like nuisances. Orto isn't just poorly run--it's a masterclass in how not to treat paying guests. Skip this place. Your time, dignity, and palate deserve better. Go to Savinos hideaway down the block. At least people give a hoot.

Yelp
Just went here with my husband & all I can say is wow. This food was absolutely amazing. Literally everything we ate was delicious. My martini was great & the bartender was very kind about me asking for extra olives & olive juice, sometimes they give me an eye roll which is ridiculous lol. The ambiance is lovely; nice & cozy & dark. Our server was super lovely as well, all the staff was kind & helpful. But they only accept cash so remember that when you do go! We will be back & can't wait to try something new!

Yelp
Finally got to Orto after hearing about it for a very long time. My husband and I each got the 4 course prix fixe for $16. You get a very good amount of food for the price. I was absolutely blown away by the food, it was all phenomenal. I told my husband it was one of the best meals I have ever had at a restaurant and I don't say that lightly. The burrata and risotto ball apps were delicious! The rigatoni with pork shoulder ragu was phenomenal and unique. The pasta with crumbed sausage was also really good. For entrees we got the short rib and braciole, both were absolutely excellent! The dessert menu (and the whole menu for that matter) was very extensive for a prix fixe. We got the warm donuts with chocolate sauce and pistachio gelato that came with a cookie. The ambiance is really nice and the restaurant is set in a historical house. It has a modern yet vintage vibe! Will absolutely be back and will highly recommend to others. Honestly the meal left me speechless and that doesn't usually happen. PS our waitress who was also tending the bar was so nice. She was a short blonde woman with bangs. Great service.

Yelp
Went to Orto last night for my first visit. I intend to become a regular. Outstanding menu, food and service! We started with bread and two toppings; seasoned ricotta (light and tasty) and sundried tomato tapenade. Just delicious. We opted for the 3 course menu and brought our own selection of wines. Two of us started with Frito Misto, a delightful assortment of shrimp, clams and calamari lightly battered and friend with lemon slices on aioli. Another guest had the burrata and eggplant while another enjoyed the meatballs. The appetizers were all excellent. Two diners had the short ribs, I loved my cod and white beans and one diner had the braciole (oh my was that tasty). Desserts were delicious and I can't wait to return. Bring cash as they do not accept credit cards. My new favorite restaurant

Chris M.

Yelp
This is the fourth time I've been to Orto and I have to say the food here is consistently amazing. From the opening of bread with the ricotta (outstanding btw) to the strawberry cheesecake the entire experience was excellent. Service was attentive and friendly. Total hidden gem.

Yelp
We had yet another fantastic experience at Orto for my birthday dinner! In particular, their wonderful service and immense attention to detail really made it the most special and memorable night out I've had in a while. For our 5:00 reservation (all that was available two days out), my boyfriend and I were seated in a cozy enclosed area, with room for only one candlelit table for two. Our menus were stamped with a sweet "happy birthday" message, and after bringing out some Prosecco for us immediately after we'd ordered it, our server took the time to wish me a very happy birthday. She was very attentive, happy to answer any questions we had, and totally non-judgmental when we needed more time to contemplate the extensive and ever-changing menu. As always the food was spectacular. No matter how simple it may sound, every item on the menu is so creatively and brilliantly executed. We did the three course prix fixe meal. For our appetizers we got the small portion of autumn squash ravioli with brown butter and hazelnuts, and the crisp farm egg with polenta and bacon broth. Both were excellent. The ravioli practically melted in my mouth, and the tangy sauce cut right through the rich squash flavors. For our entrees, I got the duck breast with red cabbage, curried squash puree, and a DUCK CREPE, and he got the butcher's steak with bok choy, mushrooms, and a potato pancake. Both duck and steak were cooked til perfectly medium rare, and tasted fantastic. The duck crepe was outstanding, and the spiced squash puree and tangy cabbage perfectly complimented the salty duck. His bok choy and mushrooms were cooked just the right amount, and the potato pancake perfectly soaked up all the steak juice. Before we ordered dessert, our server brought out a cute little coffee panna cotta with a candle for my birthday! I wish this was on the dessert menu, it was so smooth and sweet with just a hint of coffee flavor. For dessert we had the New York cheesecake with blueberry compote, and a creme brûlée. Both were so rich and decadent, and went wonderfully with their freshly brewed coffee and espresso. Also when we were done, nobody made us feel rushed to leave despite the number of couples that had begun to line up outside. Little things like this show just how much the people at Orto care about their customers. All in all, my birthday dinner was perfect, thanks to the caring staff and delicious food at Orto.

Yelp
Never in my life was i asked if I wanted to be drinkless upon entering a restaurant. Why would one ask that question in a restaurant that is BYOB? We were asked to wait momentarily until our table was ready, unfortunately, it was by the entrance to the kitchen where the entire wait staff travelled through like an express train repeatedly slamming the door behind them. The duck mousse was acceptable however, the salmon tartare was a bowl of mush with soggy chips. The osso bucco and duck were acceptable, but not outrageous. Dessert was the best part of the meal. In most BYOB restaurants, the staff opens the bottle. Here, the server threw a corkscrew on the table and then walked away. The check was dropped while dessert and coffee had just been served. I found this restaurant to have mediocre food and amateurish service. I would not return.

Yelp
This place is the most authentic Italian food you can find in Suffolk county, probably in Long Island. I just returned from eating in places like Ferrara and Ravenna and Bologna and the food at Orto is in this echelon. The beet salad I had was creative and delicious. The pasta was so fresh and the short rib main was perfect as well. We brought a bottle of Brunello and had a wonderful meal. You can't go wrong with Orto, just remember to bring cash- no credit cards

Yelp
Call me a Yelper that's got way too much going on to be keeping up with the social aspects of events and posts from others. Even writing my reviews are delayed by weeks or months, but after visiting Orto last week, I had to write up this fantastic food spot as soon as I could (a week later isn't too bad). Consider Orto the "winner" of dinner options for my wife and I as we chose this restaurant to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. We had heard some very positive things and figured let's make a reservation and give it a try. I highly recommend that reservation because Orto runs on some limited hours with dinner being the only meal they really serve. Also, mentioning a special occasion on that reservation might just grant you a little extra hospitality (but more on that in a minute). Oh and before going any further, there are two very important things to know about Orto: 1) It's cash only so be ready for that in this highly credited world, and 2) They have a bar of drinks, but you can also bring your own bottle of wine with no uncorking fee. That's what my wife and I did which was an excellent (and somewhat cheaper) way of enjoying the start of our meal. What was also incredible was the service and staff, especially because on top of our paper menus were the words "Happy Anniversary." Beyond that, our waitress brought over two glasses of champagne as a complimentary way of celebrating. If that's not some high quality hospitality and class I don't know what is! Now this was all fine and dandy, but in the end, the food has to hit in order for a place to really be memorable. Well Orto didn't disappoint with a small, but variable menu of Italian-esque options that were all delicious (for what we ordered). They do have a prix fixe as well which is worth it if you want dessert, but we went in a more separate direction, course-wise with pricing still feeling reasonable. To begin, you'll get bread for the table, but then you can order items to put on it (such as a super creamy and mildly lemony ricotta cheese which is what we got) that I found to be quite nice. After that, there are a handful of appetizers, pastas, and entrees to choose from, but what was a nice touch is that the pastas can be ordered as an appetizer portion as well. My wife and I decided to get the risotto balls stuffed with bolognese to start and then an appetizer portion of the gramigna pasta with pork sausage, tomato, and cream. I felt like I was living in an episode of The Bear when our waitress said Chef likes to take the full order so he can space out the courses. It was a cool moment, and one that gave us time between dishes to enjoy the low lit vibe and high ceilings of the quaint but cozy interior of Orto. But that course spacing also raised things to another level of detail and quality as those two words can easily be said when talking about those risotto balls and the pasta. Both were piping hot, tasted super fresh, and had some delicious flavors that came through. When it was time for our main course, my wife had ordered the red wine braised short ribs while I went with the slow cooked braciola. Both meats were incredibly tender and perfectly marinated. The short ribs were accompanied by fluffy mashed potato's and my braciola had creamy polenta while both dishes filled out the plates with some broccoli rabe. The flavors of everything together were exquisite and really rounded out an incredible meal. Overall, Orto was a perfect experience. There's really nothing I can say on the negative side because the ambiance, staff, service, food, and attention to detail was superb. It makes this an easy five star write up and has created one happy customer (two if you include my other half!) who will want to return in the near future. Orto for the win in getting me to write a more recent review.

Yelp
I have always wanted to come here, and glad that I did! Our server was phenomenal, I wish I remembered her name. She was so attentive and helped when my food came out undercooked. Great pricing for 3 and 4 course meals with amazing flavors and choices! Just know this is a cash-only establishment tucked away with a cozy atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Always a great time! Food is always great and I absolutely love the atmosphere, such a rustic/romantic vibe. I love the fact that you can bring your own wine as it adds a personal touch to your night out! I love this place, Orto never disappoints. Thank you for having such a great establishment.

Yelp
Wife and I went last night for our Anniversary. Made reservations online. Was seated immediately upon arrival at a sweetheart table and provided custom menus with "Happy Anniversary" written on them with the date. Service was exemplary, and the duck was fantastic. BYOB for the wine always helps keep the bill in check. We did the $50 prefixe which was perfect for our needs. Highly recommend for a special occasion, I've spent more at places with 1/2 the ambiance and service. Bonus points for having discount gift cards at Costco!

Yelp
I had to write an updated review for 2023. We've been coming to this location for over a decade and it truly is my favorite restaurant on the north shore. They have a few concepts in respect to ordering from the menu as well as BYOB. (Bring your own bottle) There is a 3 course or a four course meal offering, both choices brings you to a delicious dessert. I'm sure you can order one large entree plate but that's like going to Kilwins and getting a scoop of Vanilla. Every appetizer, pasta and entree selection is perfectly prepared. Their pasta dishes over the past ten years continually amaze, we have never left the restaurant with leftovers. The main dining room has a post and beam ceiling, very rustic inside. I never had a problem with any of the wait staff, they've always been attentive. Orto is just a cozy, relaxed restaurant. We have hosted Christmas staff parties here, met our friends and neighbors for dinner, Orto is our go to restaurant for anytime we want a great meal. On their website, Orto is described as Modern Italian fare served in a refined cottage with a fixed-price option. I couldn't agree more. Cash only and BYOB.
google avatar

Paul D.

Yelp
Very pleased with the prices and food. Been to a lot of restaurants over many, many years and I am confident whatever I order here is going to be a nice portion, delicious, and well worth the not so pricey bill. Cash only helps patrons receive a smaller bill, so I don't really understand that complaint/comment as a negative. Bring you own wine with zero corking fee. Best place on Long Island so far. Highly recommended. (And the staff are great attentive and aware)

Michael G.

Yelp
Orto has been my favorite L.I. Restaurant for quite a few years now. I keep it as my special occasion place to go, and it never fails to impress.

Yelp
Food delicious. Duck liver mousse was tasty. Squid ink shrimp fra diavolo was delish...wish our waitress would have come back to offer cheese.

Rick P.

Yelp
Always excellent. The ramp & asparagus ravioli was superb for spring, and Sandra is the best.

Yelp
This past Friday evening , me and a few friends went to Orto for the first time. We sat at the bar and Adrianne was bartending. We waited a long time for her to get our drinks , not to mention she was very rude upon our arrival. The food was great but the service needs to be better. Attitude is everything when you are a bartender and the customer service she provided was not great.

Yelp
I haven't been to Orto since 2021 and I'm amazed I waited this long to experience for the third time. I'll try to keep it simple. The bread was great as always. I got the pasta (the app size) with crumbled sausage and tomatoes cream sauce... the pasta was perfect the sausage itself was chefs kiss but I also think this is something I can whip up at home quite easily, so next time I'll order the short rib with caramelized onions pasta. My main dish was the chicken confit with barley chicken and fennel cream sauce, I loved the barley with the shreds of chicken and fennel cream, there was also some white yams to add sweetness, it was sooooooooo good, theconfit chicken itself wasn't the greatest but I think if you're a chicken lover (I'm more of a beef and pork person I was trying to get outside my comfort zone) you're going to adore this dish, I just think it paled in comparison to the beef and pork dishes I've had from Orto in the past. My friend got the lasagna bolognese, it was sooo rich with flavor an absolute delight, they also got the polenta with meatballs, easily one of the best apps on the menu (anything with polenta will be good at Orto). As for the service, things started off a bit weird, I guess my waitress had a hard time hearing me but she seemed a bit agitated by that, after that she seemed fine but didn't offer any real insight into the menu when I asked for reccs (everything is good she told me), it was little different than the first two times I dined at Orto with a different waitress (who happened to be there that night and I remember fondly lol). I guess she was stressed or something but overall everything went smoothly. I didn't like my dessert (chocolate almond flour cake), the texture was great but it had wayyyy too much almond extract or something, my friends pear almond Tarte was perfect (how almond should be done). I want to go back asap and try the braciola with polenta and the friend chicken with spiced yogurt sauce, they have such a fantastic menu. The ambiance is perfection, so calm and a great setting for having a chill dinner.

Yelp
Probably the best food on Long Island! Amazing prefix and you can bring your own wine! Service is always amazing! Pulling up it looks like a hole in the wall but inside is surprisingly charming.

Yelp
All of the 5 star reviews are true. In fact, here is another one. I chose Orto for my husband's birthday dinner. We made a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server was attentive but not so much that it was annoying. We had the 4 course dinner which was very, very filling so make sure you come hungry. Each course was perfectly portioned and absolutely delicious. It was like fine dining caliber without the pretentious atmosphere. The meal was well paced and the music was varied and interesting. And, this is not a meal that cost us an arm and a leg. The price is extremely reasonable for the experience. Highly recommend for a date night or special occasion meal.

Daenene A.

Yelp
EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!! The Food was Outrageous as well as the service. The menu had our names & our anniversary date(we reserved & told them it was an anniversary dinner) I had no idea they would do that!!! The Ambiance was so cozy & warm. We will be going back for our Anniversary this year again!!

Yelp
Very enjoyable evening. The food was delicious and unique with attentive but non- intrusive service. We can't wait to return !

Yelp
Nice rustic atmosphere with great food. The service was first class. My wife and I had a very romantic and enjoyable dinner.

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous place for us to celebrate our anniversary! Eric and the staff took beautiful care of us and made us feel very special. To say that his fish dishes are outstanding would be an understatement. We loved the ink pasta with shrimp fro Diablo, the halibut was fabulous, as was the Fritto Misto. As always, we love, and truly treasure being able to go to Orto.

Yelp
Fantastic time here. We had lost faith in a lot of restaurants especially ones serving pasta in this part of Long Island but Orto was amazing. The flavor design and execution on the dishes was great. On top of it it was a fantastic value, especially compared to steak/pasta places that charge a ton for poorly executed fancy-sounding dishes. Orto is special and the real deal. Will be coming back.

Yelp
Great food and service - price fixe menu has great offerings. Bring your own wine and corkscrew.

Yelp
This is my family's favorite restaurant. We dine here for celebrations, and we love to find reasons to celebrate. The food at Orto is amazing. The menu reflects thoughtful pairings of seasonal ingredients. The waitstaff is knowledgeable, friendly, and unobtrusive. The room is welcoming and warm. I guarantee you will love dining here.

Yelp
Favorite place for years. You won't get disappointed with any dish on the menu. You can choose the 3 or 4 course fixed price or just a la cart. I usually do 3 courses with an appetizer portion pasta and main course. My usual Squid Ink Pasta is a must. All the pastas are cooked Al Dante and so delicious. I highly recommend any duck dish if they have it on the menu. I tried most of the dishes over the years. It's just amazing. Don't forget to order the yummy Donuts for dessert. Remember it's Cash only and BYOB!

Annalise B.

Yelp

Yelp
Always an amazing experience! Orto is our home away from home with the best food, drinks and staff. Would give it 10 stars if I could. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Excellent food and the service was amazing! Ordered the organic chicken -sooo good. We cant wait to return!

Yelp
The food was awesome. The Parmesan flan for starters, duck for entree and butter cake for dessert. Tasted fresh and all flavorful. Small restaurant and cash only but worth it. Reason for 4 instead of 5 star was the service. The waiter seemed very uptight and did her duty but with no welcoming or friendly airs. We also could hardly catch her attention when we needed it. All in all, a great experience. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Laura O.

Yelp
We dine @ Orto's at-least twice a month, sometimes more and we have yet to be disappointed. The food is wonderful - always fresh, delicious and the menu changes seasonally. WE LOVE ORTO's!!

Danalynn D.

Yelp
This would have been 5 stars. The food at this spot is incredible. Loved everything we had. The staff needs training, they are rude and condescending. Would come back for the food but would treat the staff as we were treated. An absolute shame I hope the owner sees this and cares about how they are making people feel. If it were me, I would be mortified at how rude the hostesses are. Sad was going to book an event for my son but won't risk it.

Eddy R.

Yelp
Food is great. Service is on point. Ambience is perfect for a peaceful dinner with the wife or meal with friends. Only complaint is that phone reception in the area is pretty bad which depending on the day could be great or not

Yelp
Whenever I go to a restaurant with an unusual name, I always try to find out what it means. I am not sure about this one. Urban Dictionary has a definition suggesting it is an Argentinian slang word for middle of nowhere (this is the clean version. Check out for yourself for the racier version) that seems appropriate but unlikely, meaning middle of nowhere. Given Italian influences, I guess it may mean vegetable garden? I will have to ask next time I am there. Oh yeah, the food. One word, AMAZING! They give you complimentary bread, which was warm and crusty. We ordered all three of the bread accompaniments, and the tapenade was the best followed by the ricotta and the olives. Then we all ordered the four course Prix Fixe. I had the meatballs, rigatoni, duck breast and the donuts. My wife had the smoked salmon with potato pancakes (so yummy!), squid ink pasta, braised short ribs and the brown butter cake. The menu seems to change often so these may not be available when you come. The highlights were the meatballs (so tender and juicy), duck breast and squid ink pasta. All the pastas were perfectly Al dente and the sauces were so delicious. A real bonus is no corking fees so we went to town by bringing 7 bottles for the 6 of us (thus some of the fuzzy pics ). Great wine, great food and great company so obviously a great night! The service was amazing and the price cannot be beat!! $58 for four courses?!?! Inflation? What inflation?? Cannot wait to come back again soon!

Yelp
Been to this establishment twice in the past 5 days. Food and ambiance are 9/10. Absolutely solid in those aspects. Service is sufficient. And thats a win. Efficient, friendly, presentable FOH staff. Not one complaint. Hospitality is the issue. Very turned off with the dumbest issues of basic hospitality. My first visit was at the bar for dinner. Two of my friends and I walked into their bar at about 6:00 on Wednesday night. Attempted to sit in the middle of the bar because we were planning to dine there. The bartender made us move to the corner of the bar, in front of a post // supporting column which significantly decreased our dining area. The barmaid's reasoning... "This is just how I do the bar. I want people coming in who are waiting for a table to be able to be comfortable." Okay? Not the patrons dining with you for four courses? Off putting. Since the food was PHENOMENAL, I took my parents for my mom's bday today, Sunday the 26th. Arrived at 4:55 for our 5:15 reservation. We walked into the building, FIVE MINUTES before service, and were asked to exit until 5:00. Really? Like really? No "have a seat at bar before your table is ready // we open" Please iron out these common sense issues. This place is such a home run. No reason for inexperienced staff to deter business.

Yelp
We ate on Wednesday to celebrate my birthday. This was our 30th visit and the best ever. We've eaten steaks at Lugers and Old Homestead and Sparks and the Orto flat-iron steak is the best. Perfectly cooked no gristle. They gave me a birthday custard. I love Suzanne , but Maddie was wonderful. And as a big wine drinker I love he BYOB policy. Peaceful place. JIM
