Orto

"As if there were a direct line of intent between San Vito Chietino and Monopoli, Orto was created within the delightful Nina Trulli resort when talented chef Cinzia Mancini from the Abruzzi took over at the helm in 2020. In its beautiful Mediterranean courtyard, enjoy personalised, well-presented dishes where meat and fish are balanced by the use of fruit and vegetables, many of which come from the restaurant’s own kitchen garden and orchard." - Michelin Inspector

We had a lovely time there. Although taste wise, it was not 5 star, but place itself offers a lot!

Highly recommend this restaurant! The food is amazing, one of the best food experiences in Puglia. Location is nestled in the middle of greenery, adds to the charm. It's perfect for those who value privacy and a quiet atmosphere.

First time but amazed ! Wonderful setting and grounds. Food was incredible. Staff were very helpful, friendly and knowledgable. Will certainly return as the food was first class. Should have a Michelin star !

We loved our dinner at Orto Ristorante. The property is very beautiful and relaxing. We felt like we stepped into a resort the moment we walked in. We sat in the covered patio with glass sliding doors, overlooking the garden. The dishes were fun, delicious, creative, and innovative. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. The wines highlighted small, local wine producers. The servers were excellent in explaining where each wine came from. The service was excellent - attentive without being overbearing. A true treat and culinary experience!

This is the hardest place to review that we visited during our stay in Puglia. The location is stunning, beautiful. The tables are situated in their little tree orchard and the atmosphere is excellent with their garden just behind the corner. We cannot think of better place to have a dinner. The waiters are professional, friendly and knowledgeable. But we found the food to be quite hit and miss especially in contrast how everything else is excellent. Altogether we tasted 4 dishes and 2 desserts. We really enjoyed Aubergine flowers dish and quite liked Gnocchi and sea. But two of the other dishes we thought didn’t really work. One of which was the cod and pepper and especially redfish with cream of potato and rice which we found to be completely flavourless. Unfortunately the desserts were complete disappointment. Bread milk and sugar dessert lacked texture and tasted just like mashed sweet bread. La faldacchea dessert was even worse. The presentation it didn’t look appetizing at all. A soup bowl filled with milk-like liquid with meringue pieces floating on top and cherries at the bottom. I didn’t like the flavour and it gave a feeling of everything being put together randomly without much thought. There was some potential in some of the dishes but in the other dishes it seemed like creativity went to far at the expense of the flavour of the food.

Surprising and succulent dinner in a wonderful scenery in the middle of the vegetable garden and trullis. Unforgettable experience!

We had an amazing, accidentally private and individual experience, being the only guests for the evening. The team, product and guest path were perfect, and we walked away with some of our new favorites to commit to memory. There couldn’t be a better way to experience the flavors of Puglia in one tasting menu nutshell. Big praise for the excellent wine pairing, taking into account the shifting character of natural wines over time and temperature in consecutive dish pairing to one glass of wine. That said, out of the whole experience, there was the intense, overwhelming dessert, way too intense as a contrast to the whole menu, same goes for the wine pairing with it. If it wasn’t for that (and understandably the bugs getting into food) this would have been one of the most exceptional experiences we have had in a restaurant. Otherwise, job well done and we can’t wait to see a MICHELIN star over your entrance 👍🏻

Very nice place, the food was excellent. The concept of having in our plate what is growing in their own garden enhanced the experience.
