Orwells Restaurant

Celebrated my wedding anniversary at this beautiful restaurant. Clearly the chefs put in a lot of effort to prepare every dish on the tasting menu. The food is fresh and delicious, and beautifully presented. Gemma was great in explaining every dish to us too.

Had an amazing meal out here tonight. From the minute we were greeted, we felt completely at home and welcome. Connie, who looked after us, was polite, knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to be around. The food is outstanding and we can’t wait to come back. The little touches such as the wax sealed birthday card upon arrival are just wonderful! Thank you to everyone involved for a truly special evening. Adam and Tegan x

My wife and I had lunch for the first time at Orwells last week to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was a very enjoyable experience all round. The food was really very good, a very tempting range of dishes, beautifully presented and excellently cooked. We would definitely like to go back, a lovely restaurant.

We had a lovely family lunch (group of 10) this Sunday at Orwalls! The food was really splendid and the whole experience was exceptional through all the courses. We all had different dishes and each of them were prepared with such love, care and really good products. The cocktails were also good, and the card offered such large range of non-alcoholic cocktails. The wines we had were also lovely and really well matched with the dinner ♥️ We will definitely come back again! I was so enthouthiast, that I forgot to take more pictures throughout the service..

Incredible restaurant! I had a fantastic meal there last night. The tasting menu was sublime to the point where I was struggling to choose a favourite course. The prestigious wine pairing was also fantastic and complemented each course perfectly. The service was spot on too. 10/10 as an experience and will definitely be going back!

Orwell’s delivered an unforgettable Christmas day lunch! The food was absolutely sublime, with every dish crafted to perfection. The front-of-house staff were warm, attentive, and made the experience even more special. Definitely a 5-star experience from start to finish – highly recommended!

We tried Orwells today for the first time and it easily surpassed expectations. We were looking for a Sunday fine dining experience in a relaxed, comfortable environment and this filled the brief entirely. We had pre-dinner drinks outside, then moved inside for a highly impressive 3-course lunch, with accompanying side dishes and wine. Our party of 6 all enjoyed the experience and we'll definitely be going back. For starters we had the pork belly, the beef tartar and the crab tart. All were excellent, presented well, and just the right portion sizes to kick the meal off nicely. For mains we had beef, lamb and venison, with 5 side dishes. Desserts were accomplished, especially the Mille Feuille. We feel so privileged to have found this restaurant, and suspect it's well on the way to due accreditarion from the major food guides. I'm writing this on Sunday morning, quite annoyed, so I'll have to keep it short. Friday evening anniversary dinner. Arrived early sent to a table order a cocktail (very nice) everything pleasant not crammed to the gunwales. Service again pleasant. We decide to go with the a la carte as the wine flight seemed, well... flighty, and without a preset selection. Decisions made on courses and a glass for each. Wine arrives as we're drinking the cocktails. Bread butter missed, asked for. 1hr later starters arrive. They're alright. 1hr later we ask about our mains. On the way. Fish was not great but venison was excellent, blackberry something not as much. Plate hotter than the sun. New potatoes and kale great. Hurried exit after 2.5hrs for taxi. Not exactly trumpets and fanfares. However the next day really annoyed me as I had to be in dashing proximity for its entirety. Subpar when you are at the theatre. Addendum: Just to say I had had breakfast on the Friday but had forgone anything else as I wanted to really enjoy my evening meal. A crying shame as I really wanted to have a decent high end local restaurant now all others have shuttered. Edit: on further reflection I'm still actually annoyed that they ruined our anniversary weekend by feeding me something that wasn't 100%. I feel I was just wanting something near to be up to the likes of some London/Bristol/Oxford/Bath restaurants, ce la vie.

I can't say enough good things about this stunning find. Great care and passion are experienced in every detail. The food is remarkable, but so are the people. These people love what they do and it shows. The location, for me, was remote but, well with the trip if you are anywhere in the area.

This is the new restaurant from the team who used to run the michelin-starred Goose at Britwell Salome, in the building that was the White Hart pub. There is a bar menu and a fine-dining menu, as well as handmade snacks. The food is excellent - inventive and skilled. Beer well kept. Not long until they get another michelin star, I think.

We had an excellent lunch at Orwell's today. A lovely cozy atmosphere. Each dish was an intriguing combination of flavours and textures. The wines were unique and complex. The service was the perfect combination of professionalism with a friendly attitude. We will definitely return.
