Osaka

"Tucked away in a short arcade on the old road from Milan to Como, this restaurant has a simple, minimalist style with a bar where diners can watch the skilful chefs slicing and preparing the fish. Set menus dominate at lunchtime, while in the evening the à la carte options include sukiyaki, a celebratory dish in Japan." - Michelin Inspector

Amazing food! I really enjoyed the unique selection. The pickled veggies are very refreshing. I also ordered the pork soba dish with raw egg and it was delicious. You pay for quality here since it’s not cheap, but worth every penny. Highly recommend

authentic taste of japan 🍣 grab yourself a counter seat and admire true sushi masters at work, you’ll be experiencing pure art form. without doubt the most fresh sushi and sashimi tasted in Milan, served with skill and elegance you’ll be transported in the land of rising sun. at lunch time they have sushi/sashimi sets including appetiser, miso soup and coffee or dessert.

Google
The Toro sashimi was one of the best I've tasted outside of Japan. kudos to the chefs providing chopped Wasabi for the toro it was such a treat. I’ve also ordered the ramen but not a fan. stick with the sushi!!

Google
Beautiful little restaurant hidden off the main street. Well worth a visit! I dined alone at the bar seating - watching the sashimi being prepared - and appreciated the professionalism and care of the staff. I ordered a Salmon set meal that came with rice, avocado, miso soup, and a choice of coffee or gelato for dessert. It was incredibly fresh and tasty, and the presentation was beautiful. Excellent customer service. Very friendly and attentive staff!

Google
Authentic Japanese restaurant with good food. Don’t be fooled by its exterior, and if you’re there at 6.59pm and wonder if it’s open, yes it is, at 7pm sharp, the signage light will come on and then the door will open :) enjoyed the sashimi, and tempura. The eeel rice portion was a little small, disappointed with just a tiny slab of eel. Otherwise a really nice experience

Google
Authentic Japanese restaurant experience. Although the prices were slightly higher but it was worth it. Fresh ingredients, nice ambience and I would recommend their Kabayaki, the fatness of the eel was spot on.

Google
Authentic Japanese restaurant with high quality cuisines and high standard dining environment. Although the price is not low, the overall experience corresponds to it. Recommend the set menu which comes with coffee or gelato that comes in matcha/ rice. It is a welcoming and presentable restaurant. And I believe the owners are Japanese.

What are the best sushi experiences that you can have in Milan. The stuff is mostly Japanese-speaking and very knowledgeable about the dishes. The fish quality is excellent and the atmosphere makes it feel like you are in Japan, not Milan.

Yelp
From the moment you walk in, the waitresses are dressed in Kimonos. So the vibe inside was that of authentic Japanese experience. The food is pricey but good and legit. Top notch ramen preparation with excellent broth and noodles. I would highly recommend the ramen here. Tempura was priced on the higher end, the batter wasn't as crisp and light as I would have liked for a perfect presentation. However the sauce that it came with was amazing ! It had this umami taste and it was one of the best tempura sauces that I have ever tasted. We love Kama and order it at every Japanese restaurant that we go to. It had a good flavor, I wish it had more of char to it but the collar was a good size and came with a piece of fish. The accompany sauce was good but I felt like we went back to the tempura sauce all the time. The Gyoza was well prepared. Kids loved it and it hit the spot for the asian taste that we were looking for.

Yelp
Food 4.5 Value 4 Service 4 Décor 4.5 This was probably the most authentic japanese meal I've had in Milan. Apparently they rotate chefs from Japan here, which is very likely why it was so delicious! The place itself is beautiful and really transports you to Japan. I had the sushi misto matsu platter which for 30 euros consisted of 8 pieces of sushi, 3 pieces of sushi rolls, 2 pieces of uramaki rolls + appetizer (which was a taro and mango gelatin), miso soup, ice cream or coffee. Pros: all of the sushi and rolls were extremely fresh and tasty. Cons: The gelatin appetizer is bland and starchy-- overall, very disappointing. Overall portion size is small for 30 euros. Service was a tad slow and non-attentive. I would definitely come back though as you're paying for the quality and wonderful calm atmosphere.

Yelp
The servers here speak italian, english and japanese - super impressive! Definitely more expensive than average Japanese joint, but service was really excellent (especially for italy)! The servers checked on us many times during our meal, refilled our drinks when they were low, cleared empty dishes quickly and brought us a free little squid appetizer. Food was good! We ordered gyozas, spicy tuna roll and tonkatsu ramen. I've definitely had better ramen but it wasn't bad. The broth was a little bland but everything else was tasty. The people sitting next to us got the sukiyaki which looked and smelled SO GOOD I can't remember exactly but I think it was about 65 euro for the two of us with drinks and dinner. They accept credit and debit cards as well.

Yelp
A very ordinary restaurant have no idea why it is rated so highly. Service was below average and food even below that. Our first course was spicy tuna rolls and tempura prawns nothing special. Main course Shabu Shabu with Wagyu beef euro 88 per person a must avoid it was just horrible. Milano has amazing restaurants regretfully this is not one of them

Yelp
Legit sushi place! One of the more reasonable priced japanese food place in town. Chefs are Japanese, the sashimi is really fresh and there are a lot of drinks and food option to accomondate all tastes.

Yelp
Dinner here again, traditional Japan cuisine taste & Japanese staffs, you know Japanese always = very polite and providing excellent services. Only if they can turn a bit darker of all celling light will be prefect. I felt too sunny here... Haha You will found many Japanese here also. All the way recommend this restaurant to all of you. Remember make reservation before especially Saturday & Sunday, almost full pack

Yelp
By Day 2.5, my travel buddy and I were craving rice, noodles, soup... anything but cafe food like baguettes and pastries. Overall, the food quality and presentation is pretty great. They actually speak Japanese here! We were so impressed with the attentive and kind service. We were not the only Asians here and we weren't treated differently because we were tourists. Food definitely satisfies, too! The ramen and gyoza specifically are well-portioned and tasty. Note, they sell out of their lunch specials quickly as there's usually a set quantity daily (these run about 15-20€ each). Lunch is likely the best time to come here with no reservations. The garden-view seating or traditional seating is fun where you take off your shoes. Either way, it's a comfortable restaurant and welcome change for a meal in a sea of caffeine, pasta and bread. Next time I'm in Milan, I'll definitely be back! :)

Yelp
After being in Italy for close to a month I really needed a break from Italian food. Osaka offered us high quality sushi in a traditional Japanese environment. Service and food were excellent I was just a little disappointed in the style of sushi rice, but would def go back as it was overall 4 stars.

Yelp
Amazingly fresh japanese food! Needless to say, this place is way above your average japanese place in Milan. We got ramen and chirashi and they both were great. In particular the ramen's noodles were homemade and you could really feel it. We also shared some gyoza and wow, they made every other dumpling I've ever tried blush. It's not cheap (48€ each for the above and two beers), but it's worth it. I totally recommend the place and - if you can - reserve a table upstairs: way nicer and more intimate

Yelp
Genuine Japanese, everything tastes super fresh. Open on Sundays lunch and dinner, they also have take away. Staff very kind. Among my favorites Japanese restaurants in Milan. Love the macha icecream with azuki topping ...

Yelp
Went here for ramen, ended up ordering a bit more than just ramen. Was seated at the bar as we had no reservations (no qualms about that whatsoever). Order the sushi sampler along with a few more pieces. For it's price, I expected solid sushi, what I received however was above average sushi. I have not been to any other sushi places in Milan or in Italy for that matter, and this may constitute great sushi for the city/region/country, but compared to what I have had, the sushi just didn't hold up. The ramen broth was flavorful and everything else about the ramen was solid. Probably will just stick with Italian food the next time I am in Milan.

Yelp
Legit Japanese run sushi restaurant in Milan! Especially when you see the number of Japanese patrons dining here--that really says something about the quality of food you can expect here. Had Tako (octopus) as an appetizer, Chirashi, and the quality of the fish was fresh. Tempura was decent, batter could have been lighter. Tonkotsu ramen okay, but piping hot. Broth tasted lighter than the typical Tonkotsu I've had at other places, and wished it was a bit thicker. Reminded me more of a miso ramen, but Chasu added a nice flavor with perfectly cooked eggs, and handmade noodles definitely helped the overall taste.

Yelp
I had dinner with a friend late on a Saturday, booking was not necessary at that hour. Food is excellent. I had a 5-type sashimi (4 kinds of fish, two to three adequately sized slices per kind plus 1 prawn - 30€), expected larger serving but the high quality of the fish justified the price. Then I had a shoyu ramen (noodles, pork, egg in a soy based soup - 14€) filling and very savory. My friend had sushi which he liked and a miso ramen (same as the shoyu one but in a miso based soup), also good but less tasty than mine. We concluded with a refreshing sake, cold as it is apparently served in warm weather. I did not check, but I feel this last indulgence may have somewhat inflated our bill. We drank beer and water and paid a total of 64€ each. I do not agree with other reviewers that fish is not a strong suit of this restaurant, however if you want to be satiated ordering fish alone you should be willing to spend upwards of 60€. Service was extremely attentive and polite, staff is entirely Japanese. Overall I was satisfied and will return.

Yelp
Shabu shabu!! The Shabu was good and probably the only I've seen in Milano. They bring the portable stove to your table. I got the beef, it was good but it would have been better if they were cut into thinner slices as opposed to thick huge long pieces. Ponzu and sesame sauces were nice. Vegetables were good but it was a smaller portion that what I'm used to in the States or Asia. I think I've found my go-to Japanese spot! It's either this or Poporoya in Milan. Actual spots with real Japanese, not the fake Japanese restaurants that are run my Cinese. Osaka is totally legit and I cannot wait to try the tonkatsu, curry, sukiyaki, and sushi!! YUM
