Osaka Ramen & Sushi

This is a review for the take out service. The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and helpful. The food was well packaged to survive the short trip home, and was well presented. The sushi was solid and really good for the price. The fried rice tasted homemade with muted flavors which I really enjoyed, but it might not be exactly what you're used to. I'm thrilled to have good sushi at a good price nearby and I can't wait to try their other dishes.

As soon as we walked in we were greeted and sat. The staff were friendly and attentive. Our sushi roll and ramen both came out within a few mins and both were masterfully crafted. The flavor was spot on for everything. They even give small freebies to make you happy at the start and end of meals. Can’t recommend this place enough!!

This restaurant is nicely decorated with ample parking outside. The Salmon Trio was superb, sashimi was soft and fresh, very satisfying. Shoyu ramen was delicious too, perfect saltiness, the egg was soft with a hint of sweetness, meat was savory too. Service was quick and friendly. We got Unagi rice bowl on a couple of visits later, presentation was great and so was the food. Definitely want to try their other bowls and sushi in future visits.

Great Japanese restaurant in a great local community. The service is absolutely fantastic. The staff here is super friendly. The food here is made super fresh and delicious. This place deserves more customers. It’s absolutely a hidden gem!!! If you are at Darnestown Road in Gaithersburg, Maryland you should definitely check out this place!!!!!

Small and quiet- very attentive service. Ramen was super flavorful fresh and well made, and the sashimi was very fresh and generous cuts. They gave us two free sesame balls afterwards. The only comment I have is the cotton cheesecake was not made in house- it seems to have a stamp from another bakery on it. But other than that highly recommend this place if you are looking for some good Asian food.

Mar 2025. Japanese eats in Maryland. Chose between be to boxes, ramen or sushi. We had 5 rolls: spicy tuna, spicy, crunchy salmon, Hawaiian roll, salmon, avocado roll, shrimp tempura roll. They gave us some complementary edamame. And a bean paste dessert rolled up in a ball. Very affordable. I plan on coming again to try the Ramen.

I have to say the service and attention of this place was great. First time here but would like to come back and try other menu items. Ordered the lunch special, 2 rolls, spicy salmon with cucumber and shrimp tempura as well as the Shoyu Ramen. Whenever I try someplace new I like to try items I often order to compare to what I know. That said, the food was mediocre, not in a bad way, but doesn't really stand out. The sushi rolls were fine, good balance of fish with rice with spicy mayo. Not too much spicy mayo where is covers the taste of the actual fish, shrimp tempura roll was good, clean and seemed deveined, unlike some other places I've tried. The ramen was where I guess I expected more. The broth wasn't as flavorful as I hoped, the chashu pork was a bit dry but had nice color. But the best thing was the service and atmosphere. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Food came out quickly and the rolls were prepped well. Meaning they did not break apart when trying to pick them up with chopsticks. But I would like to come back and try other menu items as some of the items I found online looked good but as I said earlier when going somewhere else new I always order what I know first before exploring the menu.

When I first walked into the place, it had a bit of an outdated vibe. The atmosphere wasn't exactly my cup of tea, but the food and staff were really nice. We went there with a friend, and we had a great time.

Big fan. Large selection of options and the staff is very nice. Ramen is solid, but my go-to is their sushi. We often go to Kentlands for Sushi, but this is a sit down option and it's a bonus that they are open on Tuesday (when Kentlands is closed). Osaka has entered the regular rotation and I'm really happy we found it.

The food is fresh. The service was quick. My server didn't speak English very well but we communicated well enough that she knew what I was ordering. She was very friendly and so sweet. I was in the mood for ramen and this restaurant had good reviews. Yelp led me in the right direction, yet again! There was so much flavor in the broth. The meat was cooked well. No complaints and I left with a full tummy.

This is small ramen shop that's really known for its ramen but not much else. The ramen both was tasty! They did it well! The egg was great because it was actually marinated as it's suppose to be and you got the whole egg not just half! What was the best part imho was the Chashu! The Chashu was seasoned, cooked, and torched perfectly. Great flavor, tender and soft, nice char! The noodles were okay, average l, could've been better to match the rest of the great ramen. I also got the buns, chicken and Chashu bun. Honestly, they were pretty horrible l, wouldn't get them ever again. The katsu chicken was super dry, lacked flavor and was disappointing. The Chashu bun was also disappointing, it didn't have the same flavor as the ramen Chashu and was pathetic. Defiantly PASS on the buns. Service was good, they were attentive and helpful and kind. Overall, ramen would be 5 stars if the noodles were better. Appetizers, specifically the buns were 2 stars or lower, don't get them.

This has quickly become our go to restaurant. The food is fresh and service is quick. We usually order the Bento boxes but tonight ventured into appetizers and they didn't disappoint.

Food was very good and the hospitality even better. We will be coming back. Little touches like edamame and watermelon before and after the meal, respectively we very nice touches.

This place was great! I've never been but will be coming back. The spicy ramen was great. The eggs were cooked perfectly. I should have used a little more broth because the portion of the noodles was good. The have a lunch sushi special. 3 rolls for $13? I think Inside was very cute. They have the walls decorated. Service was great when I sat down. I did have to get up and go pay at the counter, but that is because it was super busy with to go orders and people walking into order.

Really bad, cheap quality.. as soon as I looked in the bag I knew it wouldn't be good Anytime I get a huge roll that's almost the size of my fist, it's a no go. The crab inside was also very stringy and weird texture.

We were in the mood for sushi, so we stopped by Osaka Ramen & Sushi near the Kentlands. It's located where Kara Hibachi & Sushi used to be. They serve bubble tea, sushi, sushi burritos, bento boxes, rice dishes, ramen, and dessert. I enjoyed a Peach Jasmine Fruit Tea with Mango Popping Boba, made with 25% sugar. For appetizers, we shared Cucumber Salad and Takoyaki. The Cucumber Salad consisted of cucumber, seaweed, and crabmeat in rice vinegar. It was crisp and refreshing. The Takoyaki consisted of deep-fried octopus ball. My husband enjoyed the Tuna Lover and Spicy Tuna Roll while I enjoyed the Dragon Maki Roll. The rolls were bigger than expected and so delicious we left no trace. We spent over a certain dollar amount but didn't receive the promotional item mentioned on social media.

Amazing food. Tables are clean, waitresses are nice, and the Soy Sauce is never less than half full. Would recommend. Menu is full of delicious treats, Has no more than 10 minutes of wait time( depends on meal! ) Sounds pretty quiet on most days, where they aren't that busy.

Great sushi spot added to the area and they stand out for a quick midweek dinner or Saturday lunch. Great service and the sauces they use are fire.

We just moved to MD from the Bay Area and we're nervous we wouldn't find a sushi spot we liked as much as in CA. We totally lucked out stopping into Osaka as it's close to where we live now. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The fish is fresh and portions very generous. Can't wait to go back and try other menu items! They also have bubble tea!

It can be difficult for my family and I to find a sushi place that serves delicious and fresh sushi, but I am happy that we ate the sushi from here because the sushi is great! The special rolls taste fresh and flavorful, and they don't make the rolls too big, so they're a nice size with still plenty of filling inside. I tried their chicken teriyaki bento box as well, which is delicious; the box has many different foods inside, making it a great meal! Their desserts are good as well; I've had one of the mini cheesecakes and the mango slice. Overall, the food is great, and I will definitely try more of their sushi rolls, bento boxes, and other Japanese dishes!

Just an average ramen spot but service was amazing I can see my self going again but I might order something new .

BEST RAMEN I've ever had! The sushi was amazing as well the servers were so friendly and helped with our orders. It was small space but still amazing food!

As a toddler mom and a foodie, love love love this place. Ambience is calm, clean, and relaxing with plenty of space for families of all sizes. Food was fresh, delicious, and the kid ate everything. Okonomiyaki was a hit with everyone, so delicious and perfect for trying to be stealth with veggies. Loved my chicken paitan ramen, chicken terikayi bento was hugeee and so was the California dynamite maki. And the staff was so kind and sweet! Definitely coming here again, I don't feel guilty for not cooking when this place is an option.

My 4th time- Had the ramen 3 times .. had the chirashi once.. the chirashi is affordable $18 for 9 pieces of fish .. liked the fact that there wasn't much filler like other places with veggies/ egg , etc .. I like my tea boiling hot and they were nice enough to microwave my cup !. Great , attentive service .. highly recommend .. family owned so prices are little lower than others places ..closed on Mondays ...

Only had the ramen and gyoza but they were SOLID. Looking forward to trying the other options here. Service is excellent!

They just opened in 03/2024, wife and I came for lunch. Happy to see that they offer lots of different types of ramen, more than what most ramen places in Moco offer. We got the salmon lover roll just to try out their sushi - delicious. Great food, generous portions, very friendly staff, and a pretty extensive menu for a stand alone (and I think family run) restaurant, will be back to try more!

Excellent place. Good prices on the sushi, the takoyaki was the best I have had in the area, and the service was excellent. Will definitely be back soon.

Our first visit Osaka Sushi was ( 06-27-24 ) was AWESOME!!! May and Sherry friendly Hospitality and Service with a Smile was Top Notch. My wife ordered the Salmon Bento Box and I ordered the Unagi Bento Box. The Salmon was moist and the Unagi was sliced to perfection top with the flavorful Teriyaki sauce, both of which was complimented with a delicious Ginger Salad and Miso Soup . The avocado mango roll elegantly presented. The menu is a Showcase of Japanese Specialties and Ramen selections price reasonably ! Finally, our observations and experiences of in room dining guest enjoying their meals with a steady flow of To Go Orders. The Showcase of Osaka Sushi and Ramen is a " SIMPLE Touch of Class " The Restaurant was explicitly so Fresh and so Clean !!! Looking forward to enjoy, share and return to "10" Osaka Sushi and Ramen AL and Angela

Hands down, this is the best place for Japanese food in the Kentlands/Quince Orchard/Darnestown area! Amazing restaurant with some of the kindest staff and customer service ever! I came in the second time and the staff greeted me and remembered my name from the first time they served me. I've had the sticky wings which tasted great as well as the spicy tonkotsu ramen. Very lucky to have a tasty ramen place right down the street from us now! The restaurant is cozy and made even cozier by the wonderful people who work there. It's remarkable how well they are at making you feel like home at Osaka!

Great tasting sushi, delivered on time for pick up, and reasonable prices without making up just because we're ordering online. Love it! This is going to be our new go to.

The food there was amazing. We ordered many things from here and all of them were super good especially the sushi's. The interior of the restaurant was well designed and clean. The staff working there were all super nice and friendly. I highly recommend going to this place!

Delicious food, great customer service, clean place We went to try this new restaurant tonight. We ordered the shumai, teriyaki chicken and salmon bento box. The teriyaki chicken was tender and delicious. The salmon was cook perfectly. The california roll were tasty. The customer service was friendly. Overall, we are coming back to pick up dinner sometimes this week.

Service excellent and food was delicious. Had ramen, bao buns (pork) and sushi. All delish and fresh. Little mini free cheesecakes for dessert and also gratis edamame. Will be back!

Good value for the money. The special rolls were large and delicious. Gyoza and takoyaki apps were delicious. Very limited sashimi selection, and the tuna sashimi quality was not good. We didn't have Ramen, but they had a large selection. I would go back for the rolls.

the portions are very generous! the sushi was delicious (osaka maki is my favorite) and the ramen was also very yummy - did not skimp out on the toppings lunch special is also a great deal! will come back again very soon!

Food was tasty, portions were great, service was extremely friendly and quick, and the restaurant was very clean. Had the tonkatsu ramen, crispy tofu bento box, okonomiyaki, edamame, and mini cheesecake desserts. Everything tasted great. Service was very fast and our waitress was attentive. Our family will definitely be back here.
