"After stints in top establishments from New York to Paris, two veteran chefs now swap places every fortnight, taking turns in the open kitchen and the dining room. 100% bistronomic cooking from scratch using local, fresh, seasonal ingredients is the backbone of this bistro in the Abbesses neighbourhood. The menu, chalked up on a slate daily, is bang-on confident with a strong French bias and showcases deceptively simple recipes. ‘Ose’ means to dare – so what are you waiting for?" - Michelin Inspector
The MICHELIN Guide’s Best Spots Near Paris Landmarks
"In the heart of the authentic Abbesses district, two chefs alternate every fortnight between the kitchen and the dining room at this lively neighbourhood eatery." - The MICHELIN Guide
starting with the positives: the waiters were quick to serve water. The playlist was good (sounded like Spotify feel-good playlist). Overall the dinner was €44 per person which wasn’t bad because the portions weren’t too small.
Now the rest of dinner: TLDR: 3 dishes in 2 hours took way too long. Stick to the fish dishes if you dine here.
When the first dish, the complementary appetizer the size of a almond served was served in a dish that resembled human lips and we were supposed to “kiss it-if you want” it felt awkward and kind of set the tone of an overall so-so night.
The entrees were interesting and I actually enjoyed them. Both chilled, one a zucchini-cucumber-mint soup and the other a fish with fennel and other vegetables. I found both to have nice flavor and were unique.
It took 50 minutes (I checked) from when the entrees arrived to receive the mains. Most of this time was spent at a table with empty dishes. It was just too long.
The mains were hit and miss. The lamb chops with root vegetables were basically just that, but the lamb to me had a bitter flavor absorbed from the veggies. My dining partner declined to eat their chop. The fish dish was good. We both enjoyed it. It looked nice and tasted nice.
Lastly the dessert was very tasty. The cheese was good but theme chocolate crumble dish was delicious.
If they reduced the waiting time and didn’t try so hard (like the lip dish) it would be good.

What a delightful find. Adventurous food, wonderful and attentive waiters, very reasonable price considering the quality of everything. We’d had a long, rough day, and Ose lifted our spirits immensely. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I really recommend this spot. The dishes feel crafted with a strong attention to detail and taste delicious. Definitely far from basic flavors and combinations.
And the service was great!

We didn’t expect much when we first walked into this restaurant, but it turned out to be the best meal we had in Paris! The food was absolutely delicious, the service was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. The staff—and even the chefs—were so friendly and welcoming. A truly wonderful dining experience!

It was inspiring for me as as a chef and a wonderful meal for both of us. The attention to detail from Henri was impeccable. We both enjoyed the gentle approach with a truely hospitable approach that this restaurant has created. I dream of coming to cook at Ose one day and the experience has changed the way I view the dining experience. Well done!!

Délicious experience. Succulent and original plates. Very playful and mysterious dishes. The chef was nice and so was the service and the waiters and cooks.
