Osha Thai Kitchen - Review - Westchase - Houston - The Infatuation

"Osha Thai Kitchen is the latest restaurant to open in the Westchase neighborhood. All the noodles are made in-house and Osha uses inspiration from Thailand street markets to create appetizers like crab rangoons and papaya salad with salted eggs. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Gianni Greene

Do you like super friendly service & top-shelf Thai cuisine? Well, you found your new spot. Kudos, to the decorator, by the way: an open concept with a cool, modern vibe. I'll add photos, but we had fried enoki mushrooms & garlic fried calamari for appetizers; seafood red curry fried rice, with a lychee martini and beef Panang curry with a Me-Khong old fashioned (a type of mild rum) for our main courses. For dessert, we shared a coconut ice cream. And... if I had to offer up one change that needs made? It would be the name of this dessert. This dessert is flippin' fabulous- with complex flavors mixing raw, fresh, slices of coconut, Jackfruit, (I believe lychee too), and boiled peanuts blended into the best vanilla ice cream there is. Oh! And an edible Purple Violet on top. So, it's similar to Halo-Halo from the Philippines, but without the colors & ube. Maybe, call it Thai-licious gelato instead lol. Although there's never an empty table for over 5 minutes - there is barely a wait. Impressive, hardworking staff!!! The lavatories are very clean as well. Sincerely, the presentation, flavor palette & authenticity are spectacular.

Google
Great food variety. Service and atmosphere: Service was outstanding. Welcoming, professional, attentive and friendly. The restaurant was clean and modern. Food and drinks: The menu offers very good selection of various dishes. Many of the dishes were not the typical foods found in many Thai restaurants which was good to see. The grilled squid was tender and the spicy sauce that was served with it was a perfect combination. Khao Soi was rich and flavourful. Good egg noodle texture, spicy broth and tender chicken pieces. Tom kha was as good as khao soi. Pricing: $$ - super worth it and we will be coming back to try other selections.

This is a gem of a restaurant that's good for dating. The environment and atmosphere are really comfortable and even have flowers on the tables. The food is tastier than I expected. The tom yum hotpot with Thai spicy level is pungent enough yet doesn't burn your stomach. The vegan stir-fried veggies are really flavorful, which surprised me with how good they are. Highly recommend for this Thai restaurant, that also have good service experience.

I don’t like to post bad reviews, bc I know how hard is to open a business. But this one needs to improve a lot special with the food: 1) chicken satay taste old 2) white rice was dried (2 bowls) 3) fried tamarind shrimp was over cooked to let the shrimps become though to eat 4)fried fish was not cheap and nothing to remember. We got the table right to open for dinner by 3:58pm and all the floors was covered with food. Server was very friendly and attentive.

Google
Osha Thai is the best Thai food in town! I've been searching for a new Thai spot to replace my former favorite, Thai Gourmet, and this place is it. The Pad Thai is very tangy and flavorful. I recommend ordering extra bean sprouts if you want more crisp texture with the noodles. The crab fried rice is a bit expensive, but the amount of crab you get makes it worth it. They serve it with a side of fish sauce; I suggest pouring it all over and mixing it in well. It was delicious. For the green curry, you must add extra bamboo shoots! The red curry, which a server suggested, was just okay and nothing special. We had everything at the "extra Thai hot" spice level. It was definitely spicy, but a good kind of spicy! I would absolutely recommend this place to any fan of Thai food.

Google
The Tom Kha soup is like magic in your mouth - the flavors are other-worldly! My husband ordered the pineapple fried rice and it came in a huge pineapple! So so rich and flavorful. I had the drunken noodles (pictured) which was also delectable. Of course we had to order some Thai tea - didn’t disappoint. And to top off a delicious dinner, we had excellent service with Richard. He was attentive, kind and professional. Will definitely be back!

Google
What an amazing establishment. We had khao soi, beef pad Thai, Thai oysters and papaya salad were all incredible. The beef was super tender and flavors for everything was bomb.com Will def be back as a regular!

Google
Our first visit and we’re already fans. The food was absolutely amazing—don’t leave without trying the garlic calamari. The Boat House was packed with flavor and the curry was out of this world. The Drunken Tiger steak initially came out well-done, but they were quick and gracious in preparing a new plate exactly the way we wanted. Bonus points for free refills on their refreshing Thai iced tea. Richard, our server, was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. My wife and I are serious foodies and notoriously picky with our ratings, but this meal is close to a 10 out of 10. Excellent customer service and a great atmosphere—we’ll definitely be back.

Yelp
It was all 10/10. Food, 10; Service, 10; Ambiance, 10. We ordered some things we hadn't tried and we were very happy with our choices. The appetizers, mushroom and shrimp donut, were great. The mushrooms were perfectly fried and had a wonderful crunch. The shrimp don't was bouncy and you could tell the shrimp was fresh. I highly recommend you ask for the chili oil because that makes everything better. We couldn't get enough of our main dishes either. My dad actually cleaned his plate. He said it was too good to take home and he loved the flavor. My mom and I couldn't finish ours but she was super happy with the drunken noodles. She'd never had those and really liked how they absorbed the sauce. And I was perfectly happy with my garlic pepper beef. Our server was great and got us extra chili oil when we asked because IT IS SOOOOO GOOD! It's smoky with just a warming heat. Perfection! I haven't had a bad meal at either location, NUA or OSHA. NUA is the original and I highly recommend you try that place out to if you have a chance.

Yelp
Overall, not bad but not outstandingly amazing. Plenty of parking and service are friendly. Good space inside with plenty of seats and seats at the bar. Thai tea was too sweet for my liking but I was still able to drink it. Chicken pad Thai with medium spice had enough kick but not too much. They should have included more bean sprouts - I felt like such a cheap ingredient should be more. With that being said, chicken pad Thai was still a slight of a disappointment, it was too watered down. Another table got tofu pad Thai and looked less watered down but water still presented on the plate. Tiger eye (steak) and I opt for sticky rice instead of Jasmin rice, was quite good. I would recommend if you're coming here. The two sauces that it comes with tasted the same to me. Chicken satay (chicken skewer marinated in curry) was good as an appetizers and comes with 3 skewers. I just didn't like how they shaped it cause it reminded me of a mouse - it's not, it's chicken.

Yelp
Very friendly service, and serving "accessible" (what they called it) Thai food = which translates to under seasoned to me. The drinks were fantastic, as well as the mango sticky rice dessert, and pad Thai with chicken. However, the boat noodle soup was a huge let down, because it just lacked that tangy/spicy taste. Quite watered down. Level 2 spice was almost level zero. Would need to try level three and four. The fried shrimp doughnuts were...fried. The papaya salad was also missing that heat. If you're looking for authentic Thai food, then this will disappoint, but if you're curious about what "accessible" Thai food is, go check them out.

Yelp
I'm not an expert on Thai cuisine, so full disclosure, my review is based on whether I liked the food, not based on authenticity. Given my limited Thai palate and low threshold for spicy foods, my order usually consists of tiger cry, pad thai, and maybe a mild curry. Tonight we ordered 2 of the 3 plus the chicken larb. The combo pad thai (5/5) was a generous portion and the meats + shrimp were cooked perfectly. Great balance on the sauce - could have used more crushed peanuts but that's just personal preference. The chicken larb was also rated a 5/5 from someone who orders larb at every place that has it, but I myself did not try it. So why only a 4 rating? Unfortunately the tiger cry (0/5) was inedible. It looked beautiful on the plate and the cook (medium) was perfect. But the meat was so gristly/sinewy that neither of us could chew through it. We both had to spit it out. I spent a good 5 minutes trying to chew through this thing and it wouldn't give. The service was very good though (5/5) as when we explained to the waiter, he immediately apologized, said he'd comp us and let the manager know. The manager came and let us know that they usually order the same cut of meat and she agreed this wasn't it because she tried a piece herself. She apologized and said she'd get with the supplier to see what may have gone wrong. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, and despite the tiger cry mishap we are definitely willing to go again and give it another go because the other food was good and the tiger cry situation was handled appropriately. The inside was well spaced and clean. Lots of parking available as it's located in the new 99 ranch center on Westheimer.

Yelp
This restaurant is nicely decorated, i like the vibe and lighting here. Service was great, very attentive and helpful. Original thai tea and thai green tea were both good. Let's talk about the food! The most impressive food surprisingly was the wings, it was very thinly coated, crispy outside and juicy inside (probably the best among other Thai places). Tom yum soup, pad thai and the crying beef were good but i thought they were a little too sweet. The steak itself was not sweet but the sauces were on the sweeter sides. Overall, the foods were good but i wish they were less sweet.

Yelp
The newest restaurant to open here at WOW. It's a trendy decor on the inside with an emphasis on the bar. The food was just okay, nothing wow me and my friend, the service was fast and very helpful. But I was not impressed by the food compare to the price they are charging.

Yelp
The most authentic Thai food in town. Padthai was one of my favorite because it cooked with tamarind favor. Boat noodle was also good. The service was pretty good and fast. I highly recommend for grilled chicken. It was marinated well with herb and grilled perfectly with crispy skin.

Yelp
The food was incredible this was my first time trying thai cuisine and definitely won't be my last. I ordered the Pad See Ew noodles with chicken and the mango sticky rice for desert and it was mind blowing how flavorful and delicious it was. I live in louisiana and came to Houston to run some errands and i've never been happier with my decision to eat here. I know that if they made a thai restaurant where I live it would do amazing!!! Definitely recommend and will 100000% come back. The place was spotless and bright and the music was upbeat and trendy, which I loved. The service was amazing i couldn't have asked for better. Definitely visit them, it was to die for!!!

Yelp
Very promising addition to the area! The oysters were spicy delicious. We had so many appetizers and shared a bottle of wine that we didn't get to the mains. Will be back for the pad Thai and green curry, my favorite things. The dining room is really comfortable and the servers are so friendly. Loved it all, 5 stars.

Yelp
Good service and good food. All staff are very nice and fast. I would come back again

Yelp
Just tried the new Osha Thai Kitchen in Houston, and I'm already thinking about my next visit. First off, the decor is so fun and vibrant--there's this cute Thai taxi decor that adds so much personality to the space. It's cozy but lively, the kind of place you just want to hang out for a while. The drinks were a highlight for me. They don't just taste good--they're beautiful. I had the Spicy Osha-Rita, and wow, it's got this perfect balance of heat and citrus. Definitely one of the better cocktails I've had in a while. Food-wise, the shrimp skewers were spot-on--juicy, flavorful, and grilled just right. And the Tom Yum soup? Comfort in a bowl. Tangy, a little spicy, and totally satisfying. Osha Thai Kitchen nails it with great vibes, creative drinks, and flavorful food. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!

Yelp
Delicious food, friendly service, and lively, colorful decor. Fundraising for Houston Food Bank via the Eat Drink HTX menu thru 2/28/25.

Yelp
Love the ambiance. Super nice waiter! However, the second time I came, the waitress seems like she didn't want to be bothered and never came to our table after we order. We waited at least 30 mins for our food even though we came first and their table was a party of 6+ and they got their food first... Overall, would come back however, I would ask for a different server..

Yelp
SO AUTHENTIC!! I am Thai and when I say the food was just like back home I mean it. The food was incredibly flavorful and fresh. They do not skimp on the protein. Our crab fried rice had so much crab and the pad Kee Mao came with a generous serving of chicken. The interior is nicely decorated and very clean! The waiter was polite and attentive. 2 thumbs up from me, this spot will definitely become a part of my weekly rotation!

Yelp
This is my favorite Thai place in Houston since Thai Gourmet closed down. Everything I've had is delicious.

Yelp
Very cute, clean and nice Thai place. The food is tasty and flavorful. It has a young vibe but totally family friendly.

Yelp
I vote OSHA Thai to be the best Thai restaurant in Houston. The food is very authentic and what I would find in Thailand. The noodles and the curries are all made fresh in the restaurant daily.

Yumi T.

Yelp
Interior is beautiful. We got Tom Yum and the Thai chicken fried rice. Best Tom Yum I ever had. I was worried that medium would be too spicy but the mild wasn't spicy at all. The food tasted very authentic and was served very authentic as well. Definitely our new go to for Thai food on Westheimer!!

Jan N.

Yelp
I ordered Thai papaya salad and not very authentic. Not even real shrimp! Also order the steak plate that was recommended but is no different from a homemade steak. Service was average. The star of the plates was the sauce that comes with the dishes. The price per dish def not worth the second go round.

Connor R.

Yelp
Very well balanced Pad Thai and served quickly! Service was as good as I could have asked for. Nice addition to Westheimer. Looking forward to trying more items on the menu. Definitely a little pricier than other Thai restaurants, but the quality is higher for sure. Will update as I try more items.

Yelp
Great food! Looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes! Panang Curry and papaya salad were great.

Jenny J.

Yelp
My new favorite spot to go for Thai food! We ordered Papaya salad, chicken wings, pad thai, etc., all of the flavors were spot on! Highly recommend if you wanna try out this new place :) 10/10!!

J H.

Yelp
I had the yum yum soup and pad kee mao drunken noodles. Both were pretty good, it's just the cost and quantity that u receive for to go orders. I said the same thing about two other Thai restaurants. The soup comes in one sizes $17 for maybe 16oz container. Just crazy! For the drunken noodles, the amount of noodles you get in this small black square to go container. I want to enjoy the flavors of the noodles and not a bunch of vegetables! The staff here are awesome n friendly. Maybe next time I'll dine in and see how it would be rather than take out!

Yelp
First time here and was extremely impressed. We got the Panang curry and the pad Thai and it's very different from all the other China town restaurants that we've been to. Pad Thai wasn't dry and the curry was the best I've ever had. I'm so picky with curry and this was just a surprisingly different take on curry. The presentation was nice too. Definitely coming back and trying other items. Recommended for sure. Btw I usually don't comment.

Yelp
Yummy! I tried a lot of dishes here while eating family style but some of my favorites are the crab fried rice, the larb, the steak, the curry, mango sticky rice and the crinkle cut tofu fries. I haven't tried the snapper but I saw other people order it and it is a beautiful presentation. Parking was easy and the surrounding shops were fun to check out too.

Yelp
There were 5 of us. The ambiance was great. The noise level was low so we could talk and hear each other. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Everything we ordered we shared and it was all wonderful. We will come back and recommend this restaurant to our friends.

Jeff N.

Yelp
Fantastic food. Service could be better, had to flag wait staff down repeatedly for water.

Yelp
Very good customer service! Food was delicious and Troy was our waiter! He's amazing. We definitely come back again!

Joel G.

Yelp
This is a great casual Thai restaurant. We enjoyed all of the dishes, tum yum gum soup, Panang curry. Will be back.
