Osmanthus Dim Sum Lounge

Excellent dim sum. All the dishes were very tasty. The turnip cake felt genuinely homemade and was savory enough on its own that it didn't need any dipping sauce. The sesame balls were incredible. The mochi filling was perfectly dense and chewy, not hollow or airy like at so many other places. Hands down, it's the best sesame ball I've ever had! Highly recommended.

I hosted one of my 222 parties at Osmanthus Dim Sum, and the night was such a success! The restaurant had the perfect atmosphere for our group — great music, cozy space, and a vibe that made it easy for everyone to connect. The food and drinks were amazing, especially the tea-infused cocktails, which became a highlight of the night. The staff was super attentive and made sure everything flowed smoothly so we could focus on enjoying the party. A big shoutout to Hermen, the owner — he’s incredibly nice and so easy to work with. He really went out of his way to make sure everything was set up just right for us. If you’re looking for a spot in San Francisco with delicious dim sum, creative cocktails, and a welcoming atmosphere, Osmanthus is definitely worth checking out.

We didn’t realise how big the portions would be and over ordered. Agree with the other comments that the food was a little too oily, especially the ribs and the fried calamari. We liked the dim sum but no dipping sauce was provided. I would return but only order dim sum next time.

We came for dinner. When this location used to be Enrico's, they used to have live music. Fast forward to now, it is a Chinese restaurant. The layout remains the same. There's a bar on the right hand side but it is now missing the lively atmosphere. It is quiet roomy restaurant. The food all tasted fine. Since it wasn't busy, service was excellent as there were only three other parties in the restaurant. Good job staff at Osmanthus.

Had an amazing outside dinner! Every dish was so delicious, especially the Szechwan meals. The outside seating area is very pretty but a little loud next to the street. It would be nice if they added some extra plants or something to dampen the noise of the cars driving by. Great place!

The food was all good. while the flavoring was mild, it was all good. Every dish. There were some good vegetarian options. The server was kind and attentive. The facility was appointed and clean. Bathrooms need a little more maintenance, but are pretty good.

I was a little nervous when we walked in and there were more tourists than locals, which is rarely the sign of an authentic dining experience. I was pleasantly surprised! Everything was delicious and we gorged ourselves, particularly since the portions were larger than expected. Definitely get the eggplant, the pumpkin was worth trying, the shumai was hearty, and the Peking duck was done well. A lot of the dishes had pork in them, which wasn’t a problem for us, but our Jewish friend did have to be a little more particular about what he ate.

3.5 stars. The food was decent but not out of the world. They allow pets on the patio, which was a big draw since our group had a dog. It was super cold outside even with the heaters, which wasn't as pleasant. We ordered the spicy wontons, the soup dumplings, the chicken dumplings, the coconut fish curry, and the Singaporean style noodles. We also got a pot of jasmine tea to warm up. The jasmine tea was lovely and helped with the cold immensely. The food came pretty quickly after we ordered it. A heads up that the curries do not come with rice, so you have to order it separately. The spicy wontons were good. For those who don't like schezwan peppers like me, beware that there is a hint of those peppers in the sauce. It isn't to the extent of numbing your tongue, but you feel a little bit. I liked the dish despite this. The soup dumplings weren't properly structured. They came in the aluminum foil cups and it was near impossible to take them out of the cup without splitting them apart, which means that the soup and the meat were now separated. It defeated the purpose of the dumplings. Considering that I am used to the intact dumplings from Din Tai Fung, this was quite disappointing. The soup was ok. The meat was ok. I just wish I could have had both together. The chicken dumplings were fine. I can't say that they were best ever but they weren't bad. They were ok. Eating them with the spicy sauce from the spicy wontons helped. The fish curry was honestly the best of the lot. The fish was wonderfully melt in the mouth with a very thin breading and the coconut based curry was delicious. It was a huge portion so my friend ended up taking almost 3/4 of it home. I would definitely recommend ordering this! The Singaporean style noodles were ok. If you are expecting Char Kway Teow when you read this, you will be mistaken. The noodles are more along the lines of vermicelli and the spice mix reminded me of a Japanese curry or an Indian Ching's instant noodles mix. We liked them, but I think we had a different expectation in our head. This dish is also not spicy so if you want heat, this is not the dish to order. Pricing wise, I think we paid an acceptable amount for the portions we got but the flavors could be a little better. Considering that this is a dim sum restaurant, I would really like their dumplings to be more on the mark.

A friend was back in town, so we came out here to grab dinner as he was close to the North Beach area, and who doesn't love Dim Dum for dinner! The ambiance was nice, friendly workers, and very modern with the aesthetics around the whole restaurant. The place has a full bar and a giant television to watch what I was hoping to watch, Monday Night Football! We started off with some Tea, and each of us grabbed a drink. I had a Hennessy Old Fashion, my friend had the original style Old Fashion, and another had the Buddha Beer. The drinks were good, not too overpowering, and went well with every sip of the meal. We started with the Hot and Sour soup, which was delicious, and then had some string beans with XO sauce, crunchy yet flavorful. Next came out the item I usually hold my Dim Sum restaurants to, which was the Sui Mai and Har Gow, both were seasoned well, and you could tell they were made with care, definitely a check mark for me. At that point, we realized we may have ordered too much food as more items started piling up on the table. The Singapore Style Fried Rice Noodles were a lot for 3 people, but we managed to scarf it all down; extremely tasty. The Turnip Cake with XO was also flavorful. I thought I couldn't stuff any more down, but once my friend suggested you had to eat a Baked BBQ Pork Bun, wow, I ended up stuffing 2 down without any thought. The food here was great for dinner, the staff were friendly and checked if everything was great. I'll be making my way back here when I'm in the neighborhood in the future!

This is a very rare location that has the option of outside seating, so we were able to bring our dog with us! Unfortunately, the smell of SF streets are not great, but the patio itself was quite nice. It's located close by but away from the hustle and bustle of Chinatown so you'll have some peace and quiet. Service was good, although there may be some language barrier for English-only speakers. You are able to mark what you want with English words under the Chinese characters, it just might be difficult if you have questions. Highlights of their menu would be the Ham Sui Gok (Chinese footballs) and Liu Sha Bao (lava flow custard buns)! Overall though, this place is very expensive for the value so I'm giving less stars for that reason. Not surprised because of the location though but you may find more affordable alternatives elsewhere.

I have been searching for a decent dim sum spot ever since the pandemic closed a lot of mom and pop spots I really enjoyed. I came here a few times because I like to switch from a no frills dim sum restaurant to a fancier one. It was pretty good the first three times. I don't come here often because it's very out of the way and there's almost no parking around this area. I like that they don't make some of the traditional items too fancy. A lot of spots start putting corn and all these unnecessary ingredients in their food. However I did notice this time around, the food was very bland and the beef chow fun was extremely oily. It was lacking the nice wok hay taste as well. When I reheated it at home, the noodles were still pretty hard but super super greasy. The shrimp dumpling (ha gow) was extremely disappointing. It had no flavor and the skin was thick. You can tell it was bought from a big manufacturer and just steamed to serve. The chicken feet had very nice color, the bright red, which made me excited to eat because that usually means it's tasty. It was lacking the sweet flavor and was a miss for me. For the price and lack of flavor, I don't think I'd drive 30+ min just to come back (the funniest part is, I live in San Francisco, it's just a hassle to drive to North Beach). I was the only Asian person eating there which tells you something. A lot of tourist and also non Asians ordering the typical "XLB".

Came here on a holiday around 1pm after walking around Chinatown. We were seated right away with no reservation. Space was clean, calm, and casual with tables nicely spaced out. We ordered off a checklist menu. Service was friendly and relaxed. We enjoyed the soup dumplings (good soup but thick skin and ours unfortunately all burst), shrimp seafood fried rice (big portion, well seasoned), crunchy string beans with XO (mild heat), and a half peking duck (delicious crispy skin, juicy meat). Nice spot for dim sum without the chaos!

All around delicious food and cocktails. Loved my strong whiskey infused cocktail with tea and a large ice cube. Food wise everything was great including Soup dumplings Salt and pepper chicken wings Pea sprouts Spicy beef soup I thought it was pretty cool they have dim sum at all hours. We ordered a few items too. That made me happy lol Staff attentive and friendly. Had a great time. Seating both indoors and outdoors. A cocktail lounge is connected to the restaurant. Will def be back!

This is absolutely the best dim sum we have ever had. I think it was the freshness that really made it. Everything was made to order. We are used to the rolling cart dim sum we've had in Phoenix, but nothing compares to the freshness and quality at Osmanthus. The sesame balls were better than the ones I had in Japan. The restaurant overall was very open and clean. Service was friendly. It did take a little longer than usual for food to come out, but that's because they were cooking it fresh and it was so worth it. If I could choose one place to eat again in SF, it would be here.

This place was rediculous good in everything. Service was great, food was seriously amazing. Restaurant was really nice looking and clean. We ordered the spicy salt calamari, the soup dumplings, the shrimp dumplings, the duck, the shumai, sweet and sour pork rib and the sesame balls. Everything was great. The spicy salt calamari was amazing, great salty kick and perfectly seasoned. The dumplings and the shumai were all super juicy and were perfect with the soy sauce and chili. The duck skin was crispy greatness and the duck was really juicy and went perfectly with the buns, sauce and scallions they serve with it. The sauce and breading on the sweet and sour pork rib was great even though we wished that they didn't have the bones. The last thing was the sesame balls and they had a great tasting outside and inside, a great sweet end to the meal.

Quick service, great food! Loved my experience at Osmanthus, one of my friends swears by their food and finally joined her for dinner! We got the garlic noodles and lets just say my life has been changed.

Beautiful in the inside. Love the decor. Also very clean. You rarely find a dimsum place that also serves cocktails. Love that they had a tea menu with at least a dozen different varieties to choose from. We ordered a lot of food and everything was delicious and flavorful and amazing!! Only in San Francisco Chinatown. We ordered the typical dimsum dishes like shu mai, hagow, lotus wrapped sticky rice, chicken feet, pork and preserved egg porridge, roast pork noodle rolls, and green beans. Everything was fantastic! Standout dishes for me were the Peking Duck and the Black Sesame Balls with egg custard in the center. Service was lovely. Our waitress was very gracious. Food came out fast and paced nicely.

The waiters were so friendly and had good recommendations. On a Thu evening, the charming restaurant has a few groups but I can tell a bar and restaurant like this could blow up on Fridays evenings. For food, these portion sizes were gigantic. My friend and I will have leftovers for days! Highly recommend the egg + oyster fried rice, XO green beans, and sizzling tofu. What a delight for our taste buds. Although some of the dishes are exceptional, weaker dishes are the Peking duck and shrimp and pork wontons in chili sauce. The duck was fine, but more of a roasted duck BBQ variety than true Peking. And the wontons were lacking salt although the filling was umami and moist.

Sowe met the bartender, Kevin, somewhere else and he recommended we come to this spot. Glad we did. First, he is awesome. Such a nice guy. I had the Empress Lychee cocktail and loved it. Also enjoyed the marinated spare ribs! Great bar snack. I unfortunately didnt get to try more food, but I like the atmosphere and the menu. I will be back.

Saw the Yelp reviews for this place some we were nearby and decided to check it out! We so happened to visit during HH time and it was meant to be! The sign outside said "Whiskey + Dim Sum What Else Do You Need?" And they are right! The Dim Sum, Japanese Whiskey, and S&P Chicken Wings were DELISH! The service was good and friendly too! We liked this place so much we convinced a couple passing by to check it out too!

Lots of seating and open-bar ambience and seated right away @ walk-in. Staff very attentive and checked on us . Dim sums were satisfactory but not super impressive. The food didn't arrive as hot ( temperature) as I prefer, especially the congee soup. Otherwise, tasty and savory dishes.

This dim sum restaurant is a hidden gem! The storefront is recessed with nice outdoor seating, so if you drive by, you would easily missed it. Their service is fast and friendly, the setting is very comfortable. Their service best part? The dim sum is solid, and their portion is healthy! To top it off, they also have a nice cocktail bar, so you can have dim sum while trying some cocktails. Definitely it a try if you are in North Beach area.

Osmanthus Dim Sum Lounge was 100% a Yelp recommendation as we were walking around North Beach looking for a restaurant with outdoor seating. After being seated under their incredibly strong heaters, we ordered the Iron Goddess Oolong tea, Spicy Wontons, BBQ Bao, Garlic Broccoli, and Pork Xiao Long Bao. The honey and I absolutely adored their tea, BBQ Bao, and most especially their Garlic Broccoli - we both agreed it would be amazing if our local dumpling spot boasted that dish. However for us, the Spicy Wontons and XLB were a bit of a miss with the wontons not being a style the honey enjoys and my finding the XLB to be a bit bland. All in all, the seating was very comfortable and the service was incredibly prompt so we'd absolutely stop in again for the items we loved!

Came here after Pride on Sunday with my friend and cousin was really looking forward to it since I'd been craving it after my last visit. Unfortunately, this time around, it didn't quite hit the same. The beef chow fun was the standout super yummy and well done . but everything else was just okay. The honey walnut prawns had a bit of an odd aftertaste, and the duck was cold and not as enjoyable as I remembered. Could've just been an off day, but with so many other solid spots around, I'm not sure I'll be rushing back.

Came to Chinatown for some dim sum soup dumpling and was dissatisfied. The dumplings stuck to the pan and there was no flavor nor soup. We had the green beans with garlic that very tasting however the green beans needed to be cooked a tad longer.

Went here for lunch and it did not disappoint! They were moderately busy on a Saturday right before noon, though we got seated quickly and efficiently. You place your order on a giant piece of paper and flag down your server to get that order ready for you. The food came out quickly as well. Everything that we had was tasty! My only commentary would be that the garlic noodles were a little too salty for my palate. Another colleague of mine dining with us, had to eat the garlic noodles with plain white rice, to cut down on the saltiness. Overall, the ambiance is modern with large tables to seat bigger parties or those that order tons of food. I would definitely eat here again!

The location is great with parking close by. The restaurant is spacious. We were seated right away. They offer online reservations too. Order from a paper menu marking what we wanted. The food was paced out well. We over ordered but ate it all. The service was friendly. Great Christmas Eve option!

Osmanthus impressed, despite my family being initially slightly skeptical over it being a cart-less dim sum spot. Overall ambiance feels more upscale than any other dim sum spot I've ever been to, but this didn't come with a compromise in authenticity at all. Every dish we tried had its own unique flavor, which sets high-quality dim sum apart from generic dim-sum that often feels like the same blend of meat is used over and over. Ingredients felt fresh & high-quality. Would definitely return & highly recommend!

I found this place while in San Francisco with a large group. A handful of us decided we wanted dim sum. I found this place while cruising yelp for best dim sum spots. The reviews seemed solid and the pics looked good, what made my final decision was the fact they had fried crab claws! I haven't seen these on a menu in a long time and they are one of my absolute favorite dishes. The service and wait time to order was a bit excessive, we had to try to flag someone down several times. We ordered way too much food for 6 people but no problem as we wanted to try a little bit of everything. The food came out as it was ready which was good since we ran out of space quickly. Every single dish was delicious fresh and a good portion. The shu mai regular and spicy were juicy and flavorful. The veggie dishes were generous portion sizes. The star of the show was the fried crab claws I will come back every time I'm in San Francisco just for these alone. If you're in the mood for dim sum and don't mind no carts definitely check them out!

In a city with so many dim sum spots, it was hard to narrow down which one I was going to lunch at. I ultimately selected Osmanthus because they had two kinds of vegetarian dumplings...and I'm a sucker for vegetarian dumplings. In addition to the veggie dumplings, my party and I decided on the chive pancake and mushroom buns for our dim sum lunch. All of the dishes came to our table in a timely manner and were done really well. I especially enjoyed the filling inside the Buddha dumplings as well as the sweet bun choice for the mushroom buns. My small critique is that I craved a dipping sauce with my dim sum, like chili oil (I know, I could have asked). Still, that didn't stop me from relishing my lunch. Osmanthus knows what they're doing, and they're doing it well.

This is my favorite dim sum spot in SF Chinatown! They offer such good quality dim sums plus a full bar too. You have to try everything here! They have such a good selection but if you like dessert then order lava salted egg dumplings. It's basically a fried mochi ball with lava fillings. The way they fried it is not greasy when you eat it. You can't find that at other locations. They are fast and bring out food out piping hot! They also gave us a lot of good recommendations. It was such a nice day to sit at their outdoor seating but this place feel so nice. I just love it! I highly recommend this place. I ordered so much stuff to name it but check out my photos. We definitely over-ordered here but everything was so delicious and tasted very high quality and fresh! I highly recommend the veggies with garlic as well as the shumai and house noodles. It's a very large and casual space and the service is quick!

The food was very good! And also the service was good they gave us some recommendations and the peking duck was very delicious!

We took my son and his fiancee out to dinner here, everyone enjoyed the restaurant, great atmosphere, delicious dim sum, despite the fact we were hoping for the carts. The only thing that kinda bugged were the soup dumplings. They come in individual little tins and the dumplings stuck to the tin so you lost the soup. Otherwise this would be a five star rating.

I came in right after the lunch hour rush, which was a perfect time. I was seated right away and there was only one other guest in the restaurant. There was a lot of space inside and outside to dine. Ambience is traditional and vibrant with music and lots of space. The young man that helped me was attentive and patient which I appreciate. The menu is full of dim sum favorites. I ordered a non-alcoholic beverage with ginger beer inside. It was delicious . I ordered, lunch items, hot -and-sour soup, egg rolls, and the shrimp and chives dumplings. The shrimp and chive dumplings were my favorite. The flavors were amazing. Traditional hot sour soup and the egg rolls were a perfect finishing to my lunch. I will definitely be back to try more items on the menu and bring more people with me!! it seems like a great place for a large work lunch or dinner party!

Had some good lunch at this North Beach dim sum bar and grill. It has a classy yet casual atmosphere inside. Osmanthus has more than just dim sum though. Get a lot of Asian classics. The best thing of course is to get what they're known for because this is the best stuff. Came at lunch and it wasn't as busy. It's got enough room for a good crowd. The dim sum is the main thing. Because it's also a bar they have cocktails. It's about $12 for a typical cocktail, and the best one we had was the Tokyo Highball. Basic but full of flavor. This was made with Fever Tree Lime, Toki Japanese Whiskey, and yuzu. For those not aware, yuzu is a citrus fruit. It's about $6 for the Spinach Dumplings, which came out fast and steaming hot. These were filled with corn, peas, and tofu. Good stuff as far as dumplings go. It's place to go if wanting to eat healthy and not too much. There's a few choices on the menu for vegans and vegetarians.

There was mouse poop in my drink. And we told them and they didn't even comp it. The food tasted good. But there should not be mouse poop. At least say sorry

After going to the Chinatown Autumn Moon Festival, my family and I decided to have lunch here. We didn't have to wait for a table and the restaurant wasn't very crowded. I've been here twice with coworkers and family before, and I remember the food being pretty good. It's a modern spot with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating located closer to Little Italy. Prices are more expensive than the typical dim sum restaurant. Our order: House Tea ($1.50/person) -It was red tea, and it wasn't very good: If you have a group, it's probably better to pick a tea from the tea menu ($9.00/pot). Baked BBQ Pork Bun 焗叉燒包 ($6.45/3 pcs) +Crispy crust that was slightly sweet +Good amount of well-seasoned BBQ pork that wasn't too fatty -Thought the thin layer of shaved carrots and greens on the bottom were out of place Shrimp & Chive Dumplings 鮮蝦韭菜餃 ($6.95/4 pcs) +Fresh, chewy steamed wrapping +Good amount of shrimp & chive filling Pork and Shrimp Siu Mai 蟹黃燒賣 ($8.45/4 pcs) +Filled w/a good mix of lean pork, shiitake mushrooms, and shrimp +Topped with roe -More expensive compared to other dim sum places Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf 珍珠糯米鷄 ($6.45/2 pcs) +Rice was cooked well: Not too mushy without any hard pieces +Contained the typical suspects: Chicken, Chinese sausage, salted egg yolk, and shiitake mushroom Fresh Bean Curd Rolls 鲜竹卷 ($6.45/3 pcs) +Black bean sauce added the perfect amount of flavor: We ended up dipping the tripe in here. -Thinner compared to other dim sum places, so there wasn't much filling Steamed Beef Cattle 白灼牛栢葉 ($9.95) +Huge portion of boiled beef triple on top of a bed of crisp bean sprouts -Very bland: The accompanying sauce and scallions didn't add a lot of flavor -The server poured the sauce over the dish once he brought it to our table. It'd be better if he just left the dish of sauce on the side because some customers may want to add it themselves. Marinated Five Spiced Beef Offal 五香牛雜 ($11.95) +Turnip was tender and not fibrous -Turnip was bland, so it didn't seem like it was cooked with the meat -When we asked the server what types of cuts were included, she said there was a wide variety. However, when the dish arrived, it only contained the honeycomb tripe, which is the cheapest of the cuts. *Verdict: 3.5 stars rounded down to 3. I noticed there were some tables that didn't finish their food, so maybe the kitchen staff have changed? Not my favorite place for dim sum, but it's a decent spot for dim sum without a wait in the area.

The service was great considering one man was running the whole floor! He worked very hard and efficiently. It's clean and spacious, the food came quickly and was fresh. The dumplings were great, especially with the chili oil and vinegar dip with it. The garlic noodles portions could feed four so definitely worth the price!

Best place in North Beach. The vibe was awesome, music, and food was so good. The chow mein with beef hands down the best chow mein. I always order this.

Pricey n just not great. The texture of the dim sum was more mushy than anything else. Found it to be flavorless too. With all of the delicious places around, often with more competitive prices, I don't think I'd come back. The veggies were ok tho. No carts here so just order. People mentioned the pork buns and the egg sesame thing so we got both. The hot egg inside was grainy and the sesame mochi outside was familiarly mushy like the other stuff. If someone wanted to go here I'd stick to veggie dishes, the pork buns n that's it. Might be good if you're coming for cocktails and Chinese food but I wouldn't come for dim sum. For this price I still think I'd want to go elsewhere. Surprised it's marked as two dollar signs, considering similar ones are tagged with three dollar signs. It's also in a kinda funky part of town on the outskirts of where most people would be wandering so wouldn't be worth it if you have to go out of your way. Service was fine.

Good selection although confusing ordering using their visual guide which doesn't correspond to the written menu (would be better if they numbered images to correspond!). Service was prompt and friendly. Music being played was a bit loud and "pop" oriented. Soup dumplings are a miss -- they come in mini, single foil cups which made them come apart and lose their juices. Chinese broccoli was fresh and delicious. Spareribs were a bit bone-y and fatty without a lot of meat. Salt & Pepper Shrimp was good. Overall other dim sum was okay.

Dim sum restaurant on broadway right at the intersection where kearny intersects. Small, medium and large dishes are a tad more expensive then other restaurants. They have an outdoor space that is pet friendly. Everything was done pretty well. On weekends, especially sunday, parking is not bad as the neighborhood is typically a night business area with bars, clubs, etc. service is typically like other dim sum restaurants. Their teapot though was better made and rarely leaks (which is typical in many chinese restaurants) Total came to $35/person. Given it's one of the few dim sum restaurants that is pup friendly (in addition to harborview, palette), will return for sure!

First off, let me just say don't walk, RUN, to this amazing delicious dim sum restaurant. We went in on a Wednesday afternoon and wow, we can't wait to go back. The service was great, ambiance was gorgeous (beautiful tea pot wall) and food was phenomenal! The next time we are in San Francisco, we will be ordering the same dishes and more. Everything we had was 10/10 and did not disappointment. We brought family from out of town who tried dim sum for the first time and they were highly impressed, as were we, although, we've had dim sum before but not like this. Thank you, Osmanthus Lounge!

The tea menu is tremendous. The dim sum is yummy. A great option for those who crave Yank Sing but want a slightly smaller bill. And the space is really well designed--I would happily return the next time I'm in SF.

Went here for an early dinner around 5 on a Saturday. Restaurant is a lot more spacious then it appears to be on the outside, and they still have outdoor seating! Our server was really nice and had great recommendations for us. She was also able to answer all our questions with ease. The food was amazing! Had about 6 different dishes. All the Xiao Lun Bao was delicious no matter what protein! The pecking duck was also AMAZING. Have no doubt that everything on the menu tastes delicious! Overall would highly recommend!

This place looks like a hole in the wall from the outside. It's really cute inside. They communicated to our group an approximate wait time and sat us within that time frame. The service was quick once we ordered our food. It was delicious and we ordered a lot! The pan fried rice noodles were semi-addicting. The crisp on the outside of the sesame balls was light, not over cooked, and they had a moist chewiness to it; a different bean or maybe lighter in color than what I'm accustomed to, but still good flavor. The flavors for the dim sum dishes we ordered were all great! The price was awesome for a group of 5. Don't burn your esophagus as you eat the hot and sour soup. It was so good, but it came out piping hot! Loved it! None from our group ordered any alcohol, but it seemed like they had a legit bar available. And the bathroom was clean for such an old building. Hope you enjoy your meal there, as we all did. Would definitely return here when we are in SF again. They had a funny chalkboard sign that said something along the lines of food and whiskey, what else do you need?!? Agree!

Great dim sum! Opens at 10:30am. The spinach dumplings are good. Shui Mai dumplings were delicious. Custard buns were a yummy dessert. Make reservations online as it can get busy. High quality Chinese food.

We stopped by for a few bites because we passed by this place so many times and finally decided to give a try. We were a pleasantly taken aback by the quality of food and speedy service, and casual ambiance. The value for the money is great.

This place serves some truly authentic Chinese food! The dim sum is excellent. The General Tso's chicken and garlic string beans are my favorites--so flavorful. The short ribs were good too. Great spot for a tasty meal! The service is fast and straightforward, dishes arriving quickly. The price is reasonable for the generous portions.

This restaurant is on the outskirts of Chinatown & North Beach -- that is to say, there are plenty of places to go for great grub. Our family, however, chooses to come here for dim sum because - 1) the food is solid! i particularly enjoyed the Gold Sand Egg Yolk Pumpkin and Salted Egg Yolk Black Sesame Balls. Unique and delicious. 2) great service! staff checks in to make sure we have everything we need 3) ambiance -- this isn't your typical dim sum dive. it's nice inside and there's a good area to sit outside as well.

Down in Chinatown in San Francisco wanted to try out this place that said they had good dim sum. It was OK. I had the fried rice noodles with barbecue pork and I thought I had ordered sweet-and-sour ribs, but they don't communicate very well and with three people taking my order that barely spoke English. I ended up with the wrong dish. Had to send it back places clean good house music.

Good food and enormous portions. Green beans were too salty but that's the only dish I'd complain about.

Went there on a late Sunday afternoon for some dim sum and there was still a good amount of people in the restaurant. My friend and I were seated promptly and we enjoyed the modern and clean decor. We ordered a variety of food from the BBQ Pork buns to Beef Chow Fun and Rice Rolls. I enjoyed the fact that for this type of food it was not too oily. The pork buns had a nice crisp crunch to it and the rice rolls were packed with filling. I definitely will be returning to Osmanthus to try their dinner menu!

We made a reservation but I don't know that was necessary, overall it was busbusy but not full. It did take a server aabout 15min to take our drink oorder which was kind of a while. Good was good but took a little while for out last dish maybe 30-40min from ordering and we had almost thought it was not coming. Would consider going back but since there are so many dim Sum restaurants in the area may opt to try somewhere else neit time.
