"There’s a story behind the name of this restaurant: on the 30th day of every month a travelling salesman used to stop in this small, delightful village. In the meantime, a young French chef, Hélène, arrived here and fell in love with Chianti and its cuisine. She named her restaurant after the travelling salesman and the name has been kept in his memory. In a typical setting of stone walls and old rural objects from bygone days, Hélène is now front-of-house taking care of guests, while Nadia Mongiat has replaced her in the kitchen, where she continues with the restaurant’s tradition of creating simple Tuscan cuisine. The focus here is on preparing ingredients in traditional ways, such as pork liver (the thinnest part of the liver is used) cooked at a low temperature and then stored in lard with fennel for a few days before being re-heated sous-vide in a bain-marie. As a result, the liver (served lukewarm on a bed of Tuscan green beans) is soft and delicious." - Michelin Inspector

A true hidden gem in Tuscany. We enjoyed delicious dishes and excellent wines at very reasonable prices. The owner is extremely friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about wine. A place not to be missed!

Had an incredible dinner at Osteria alla Villa — the wine list blew me away 🍷 Every bottle feels hand-picked with love for Tuscan terroir. The owner Genti knows exactly what to pour depending on your mood or dish. Ended up tasting some small producers I’d never heard of before — all amazing. Definitely one of those places where wine still feels personal, not commercial. Tuscany at its best! 🇮🇹✨

This osteria is a treasure. The pici with boar ragu was particularly outstanding, I will remember it forever. Service was excellent and made you feel at home. We went on a Thursday at 8 pm with a reservation but seemed like you could walk in easily.

Absolutely fantastic! 12/10 Gentjan is the perfect host, his wine knowledge and selection are amazing. In general, the hospitality there is outstanding - food and their recommendations plus the wines were completely on point. It combines everything - very honest, original and high quality of ingredients. The atmosphere and personal touch make it very different from many other places in Tuscany.

10/10 I can’t believe it took me this long to share my experience! We dined there in September, and honestly, we're still raving about that meal—it might just have been the best we had during our entire trip to Italy. From the moment we walked in, the owner and staff treated us like family. We ended up being the last table to leave, completely captivated by the owner’s stories and the evident passion behind their food. We loved it so much that we returned for two consecutive nights, making sure to sample every dessert on the menu—each one was a delight! But let me tell you, the duck gnocchi was truly out of this world. I’m already dreaming of going back just to enjoy that dish again!

Wine - Bolgheri Cabernet was delicious Hospitality- The owner made us feel completely welcome, and his wife is the chef! Food - The asparagus flan is amazing, a fabulous few bites We had the pork tenderloin with a balsamic reduction, and it was perfect! Dessert - Mille-feuille was the delicious icing on a beautiful dinner. Amazing!

This was one of our favorite meals during our stay! The food was so delicious and the vibe was perfect. It felt like we were walking into our best friend’s family home for dinner. We ordered the pistachio pesto spaghetti and the gnudi for our mains and shared an asparagus truffle special for our appetizer and a tiramisu for dessert, which was a good amount of food for the two of us. The pesto pasta was cooked perfectly, bursting with flavor, and the gnudi was creamy and delicious. The asparagus was so tender and the tiramisu was the perfect ending to the meal. Would highly recommend making the trip out here to enjoy the food and the company!

Simply the best!!! The kindest team, the most romantic ambiance, the best food ever, you MUST COME HERE! The restaurant is run my husband and wife and even grandma is cooking in the kitchen. You will never find fresher, more delicious pasta. The stuffed pear with blue cheese is a must-have, as are the gnudi. I will be dreaming of the food for years to come.
