Osteria Ardenga

"An authentic trattoria which is a joy to visit, where time seems to have stood still for decades. Situated on the border between two provinces, the restaurant focuses on specialities from Parma, many of which are made from home - grown produce. Homemade pickles and chutneys are also sold here." - Michelin Inspector

Fantastic New Years Eve Dinner. If you want to enjoy the most wonderful homecooked meal and feel among friends, this is the place to go. From the moment we set foot into Osteria Ardenga we were treated like family. We could not have wished for a better place to spend New Years Eve. The owner of the restaurant took the time and explained every single item on the menu - all of them local specialties - describing the ingredients and how it was prepared. It all sounded fantastic, making it difficult to chose. We ended up with two different items from every course. In addition, we were presented with extra samples between courses. The meats are some of the best in the world, with this region celebrated for it, with the restaurant having its own curing room. The pasta was heavenly and the fish dish exquisitely light and flavorful. The main courses were exceptional, with the veal in truffle sauce something I'll remember for a long time. We had a red wine that was made by the restaurant itself, which was another delight. The deserts rounded off an incredible experience. The case of their wine we got will keep Osteria Ardenga close until we can return in person.

We came here for a sunday lunch with the whole family. It was delicious in many ways. The food was awesome and local: polenta fritta, salumi, tortelli, pisarei... nowhere better to taste dishes rooted in this area of Emilia. The location is also placed at a wonderful crossroad in the middle of the plain and the Guareschi is sitting across the street. I guess this place is even better with a little fog.

We stopped here for lunch on a long, wet journey and it was well worth it. Authentic, family run restaurant. The most delicious homemade and well cooked pasta in Italy so far, served with cheese, truffle and walnut. Very warming. Great, friendly service - thank you for accommodating us just before closing for lunch. Good value - would recommend.

I tortelli fantastici. Pasta fatta in casa e ripieno saporito.
