"This young, attractive and friendly restaurant brings the maritime influences of Romagna to Bologna, upholding its traditions of fresh fish dishes which are simple yet full of flavour. “Fritto misto” (fried fish) is still the house speciality, although other classic fish and seafood dishes also feature on the menu. In fine weather, enjoy your meal in the shade of a huge century-old plane tree." - Michelin Inspector

This experience was excellent from the very beginning. Booking a reservation is very easy and you get a confirmation that it has been seen by the staff and accepted. The actual dining experience was phenomenal! The menu was small and easy to navigate and our server was very happy to make recommendations. The atmosphere was pleasant and quiet without feeling pretentious. We split the Fresh Tuna and it was divine. The flavor was explosive but not overpowering and the panzanella was extremely fresh and refreshing. After I got the grilled sea bass with vegetable and I was in heaven. The fish was perfectly cooked with a crispy top. The skin was not crisp but I like the skin to be soft. The vegetables were seasoned very lightly if at all but tasted like they had just been picked minutes before. My wife got the fried calamari. They are not shy with the portion here. The calamari was soft and not even a little chewy. The breading was crisp as if it was tempura fried and packed full of flavor. We finished with the terrine of fresh cream with zabaglione. They brought this out with a candle for my wife's birthday which I had forgotten I mentioned while making my reservation. It was something so small that made the evening even more special. This dish is something I will remember for the rest of my life. It ruined my palette with how extraordinary it was. Creamy and soft, sweet yet mildly savory. And perfectly sized for the two of us. I cannot recommend Osteria Bartolini enough. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and excited to be there. The venue is beautiful and welcoming. The food is mind blowing and even more mind blowingly affordable.

We had high expectations for this restaurant and left quite disappointed, particularly with the service. The waitresses were not very attentive, and we would understand this if it was busy but the restaurant was almost empty and they were standing next to us. We asked for another bottle of water and had to ask multiple times before they brought it to us. One of us ordered the mixed salad and it came without any dressing, so afterwards when we realised this we asked for some vinegar and oil. They brought an empty bottle of oil so we had to let them know and they took it away and brought another one, but it took a while. Then, we asked for some cheese for the pasta and they said in a very rude way that it just doesn’t go. I would normally understand this but the pasta was completely plain and it was lacking flavour (it was basically some fish and the pasta, which were nice on its own but not a proper dish). We asked twice more for cheese until they finally brought us some. The glass of wine that one of us ordered was quite small, and the flavour wasn’t great either. Overall, the food was okay and we loved the calamari we had as a starter but the service just doesn’t make it worth it for the price. I wouldn’t come back.

Lovely food not always fried as mentioned on some reviews!specials available...great fish dishes with great service..would definitely go back!apologies...the dessert pictures don't give it justice...the blurred one is the orange and caramel gelato cream....the half eaten is the meringue ...just dived into it before taking a picture of it....

Cosy ambiance in the garden. Friendly service with an easy non-rush approach. Menu is small for which we find perfect. I started with a Tagliolino with white fish sauce. The pasta tasted fresh and was delicious. Personally, I’m not a fan of fried fish but because it’s their signature, we shared the fried squid with zucchini. It was surprisedly good, the batter was light and crunchy which makes it less oily.

Seafood Delights and Charming Ambiance! Osteria Bartolini is a must-visit! Amazing vongole, red prawn skewers, and mixed deep-fried seafood. Great wine selection. Air-conditioned indoor and lovely garden view outdoor seating. Advanced booking highly recommended. #SeafoodLovers #CharmingAmbiance #WineSelection

This restaurant is a tourist TRAP! You are required to make a reservation to dine in. Naturally, we assumed that the restaurant is always full due to good food, but this wasn t the case. The dishes were so deep fried that you couldn t taste the fish. It could have very well been a shoe instead of meat. Obviously, very oily, so much so that we couldn t eat it. Even the GRILLED Calamari was fried 😳 The menu says french fries but they bring you CHIPS, similar to Lays chips. We also had a vegetable side dish which we couldn t eat as well as the ingredients were not fresh - the potato bits were black-ish (very bad sign) The wine was sour. After many years of visiting Italy (Rome, Venice, Milano, Bologna…) this is the first time I am deeply disappointed by the food. Shame! The atmosphere was nice though.

The evening started off very nice. The Restaurant itself and its surrounding area looked very promising. Then it all started to go downhill…. - the menu is very small and the jokes written on it were quite out of place. - food was disappointing: 1) they offer no sauces to the dishes (not to the salad, fries or the mixed fried fish) witch left everything tasting really bland and monotone. 2) nothing was really fresh, i for example found multiple brown pieces of salad in my “seasonal salad”. They offered fried veggies to the fried fish so everything was really beige. so it left everything to be very monotone once again. Positives) The clam dish was quite tasty. Staff: impolite. not saying thank you when helped. not apologizing for misshapes.

Highly recommended the fried mixto was light and tasty. The calamari and fried zucchini outstanding. A place to enjoy a great meal.
