"Though the quiet Italian fine dining spot from former Pane e Vino chef Claudio Marchesan had strong response from the ritzy Santa Monica area, it couldn’t make the five year mark and closed during the pandemic. It’s since been replaced by another outlet of Breakfast by Salt’s Cure." - Matthew Kang

Amazing Burrata & Volgone dishes. Potatoes and Brussels sprouts were very good ... we sat at the bar at the end and engaged in great, interesting & entertaining conversation with Claudio - inventor/creator of most of the dishes. Food is so clean and delicious!

Regional Italian pasta classics to perfection from the top chef who created the menus for Pane e Vino and Prego... with specialties such as the tripe dish here you cannot get anywhere else...and the one waiter handling the entire room seamlessly creates the complete dining experience

This place is tiny, quiet and absolutely charming. My girlfriend described what she was in the mood for to the waiter and they whipped up an off-menu garlic and olive oil pasta that was absolutely fantastic. I had a spaghetti that was really excellent; perfectly al dente with a nice meat sauce. The restaurant is small and welcome change compared larger more commercial places. The bread and appetizer weren’t 100%, but this place gets 5-stars for the overall dinner experience.

Great staff, solid food. A great little place for dinner, serving more of a local clientele. I had the tripe appetizer, silk handkerchief pasta, my wife had the chicken paillard and we shared the panna cotta dessert. I definitely recommend a visit if you are looking Italian food on Montana Ave.

The food was above average but they said they ran out of ricotta for the tortellini. I then asked for a specific wine, then didn't have it. I had the wild boar ragout, it was pretty good not great. Also tasted the lasagna, sauce was good but overall not memorable. We ordered the panna cotta, came with raspberries not peaches like the menu said and whip cream from the can. Also our waiter had trouble understanding English (he was not Italian) we asked for lemon with our water, said he didn't have it, saw it on the table next to us, he finally got it. Had to ask for bread and the bottom of the bread was slightly burnt. I will not go back, not fine dining.

Delicious food. Delicately seasoned. I was just there last evening. We had Grilled Octopus - great combination of flavors, Silk Hankerchiefs - fabulous, and Saltimbocca Alla Romana - so good. This is wonderful food from a true chef from northern Italy. This restaurant has only been open for seven months. It is very different from the previous occupant. Thank you for a great meal and a lovely dining experience.

Delicious food and excellent service in a cozy atmosphere. The talented chef (maybe also the owner?) stopped by to check in. Our group noticed open tables as we finished our meal so we stayed and talked and enjoyed the atmosphere until closing time. I appreciated the warm welcome and will return.

Confused why google hasn't updated these reviews/images that are from years ago when the restaurant opened under a new name/chef in December. The maitre d and restaurant partner was very welcoming and made great menu recommendations. We felt adventurous and ordered tripe (which was the best I've ever had), and finished our hearty plates of duck ragu and meat filled pasta.
