Osteria Chiana

I found this gem after reading an article on Condé Nast Traveler. This restaurant doesn’t disappoint. We arrived a few minutes after they opened; the place was already filled with locals. Luckily, we got a table right away. The server was kind and provided menus in English. The food is exquisite. This is my favorite restaurant in Rome.

One of the better meals we had in Rome. The food was very good. The rigatoni alla gricia was amazing and my dinner was great as well. The service was very good and was friendly to us. Definitely recommend for a great Roman meal.

One of my favourite restaurants in Rome - great quality Italian dishes at an amazing price. Super local place with mainly Italians living in this district frequenting. Absolutely recommend to anyone in the area, especially if visiting Villa Borghese or Villa Ada. €15-20 per person

Pleasantly surprised! We stumbled upon this restaurant on our neighborhood walk and every dish did not disappoint. Everything was phenomenal!

We visited the Osteria Chiano during a recent trip to Rome. We were staying at the nearby Hotel Buenos Aires. We had a table booking for early on a Sunday night. When we arrived there was already a nice atmosphere. We were shown to our table and given the food and drinks menus. The waitress then explained the daily specials board to us in English. I ordered a bottle of the Fallwind Sauvignon which was excellent. I had the asparagus fritada and my wife had the melon and prosciutto ham. Both of the dishes were well presented and tasted very nice. The wife’s starter was a huge portion. I had a pasta with mushroom dish next. My wife had the fillet beef steak. The steak was a good size and perfectly cooked. The pasta dish was well cooked and most enjoyable. We both had a really lovely meal and the staff were really helpful and friendly. Great value for money too.

When in Rome in the Parioli district this restaurant is absolutely worth a visit. Good local food, professional staff and a charming decoration are welcoming you. Look forward for the next time, ciao Roma!

Very much the beating heart of the neighbourhood, full of locals almost every day so make sure to book in due time. A perfect example of the casual style trattoria! Their signature dishes include l'amatriciana and carciofo romano.

A cute place with plenty of locals. Fast service. Almost too fast--not a leisurely dinner but tasty and reasonable. Great wine. We walked from W Hotel and enjoyed the neighborhood vibes. Didn't open til 8:00 so everyone filed in at same time but friendly staff had it under control. Be sure to look at specials board. Roast beef (think deli meat) was very good. Fried veal was just OK. Not a lot of meat.

I have to say I LOVE yelp! I'm in Rome solo this weekend, and found this little place via Yelp. I walked there alone, approx 1 mile from where I am staying, and I felt totally safe. The trattoria is a small little place filled with locals. In fact I was the only "Americana" in the house. Food was typical , fresh, Italian fare. Great cheap house wine, and friendly service. I LOVED it and glad I went out exploring solo. ( this isn't in any tourist area at all.) Thx all my fellow "Yelpers" , you helped a girl out on a Sat. Nt alone in Rome!!!

Decent Osteria in a smart area of town. It can be tricky to get a table here so it's best to book ahead. The service was rapid and overall, fine, although the bill was wrong (they charged under, we were honest). I had breaded and fried lamb cutlets with fried artichokes and a side portion of refried chickory greens. The vegetables were excellent, the lamb a little bit disappointing. My dining companion had a good sized fillet steak cooked appropriately. I'd come back for the ambience but the food is just a shade above average, if pretty well priced for the area.

omg! what a wonderful surprise! basically a backyard wedding reception without a groom! starter was a mozzarella di bufala that I've been searching for since I arrived! second was an outstanding carbonara with black truffles you would never leave your mother. in fact I'm angry I went to the take out place and gave up. if I lived here and I almost did. I would close my kitchen except for coffee and come here. I've seen a lot written about the edit staff but they are positively spectacular. if they have an attitude then so have I. if you don't like it go screw yourselves. only issue are these guys who seem to have to smoke to make themselves hard. no worries I've put a nice Italian hex on them and their junk wont work for 2 months! you know who you are. happy place. come early the backyard is packed!

Osteria Chiana is a casual but trendy osteria located off Via Chiana. Osteria Chiana is best known for its outdoor seating area and surly but very attractive waitresses. The restaurant serves classic Roman fare (fried artichokes, gricia and carbonara). I particularly liked the fried meatballs (even though Italian people tell me never to order meatballs from a restaurant - uncertain quality of meat they say). A primi will run about 8 EUR, and a secondi about 12-14. Portions sizes are moderate and the quality is very high. Only drawback is that the staff seem to think very highly of themselves.

Had some nice pasta takeaway and was treated to a nice glass if local red while waiting. The place is just around the corner of our airbnb so we'll be back fir seconds.
