Google
Our airbnb hostess recommended this place and I'm so glad she did! I think it was the coolest place we ate at during our Europe trip! It's built into the ruins of Circus Maximus, the employees were all so friendly, and the food was amazing!

Our server was a bit dour, but the service was excellent, and the food was absolutely sublime. Other servers appeared to be having more fun. Fantastic place for a group of any size.

Went to the Colosseum and stopped here as it was relatively close. What a great find! Beautiful restaurant, clean, classy and with such good food. We tried 3 different pasta dishes and can't honestly say which one we liked the most.

We had a lovely dinner at this restaurant. The food is amazing and the design is very cozy. The waiter was only speaking Italian but it was ok, we managed to order the right food eventually. We had one beef steak, the mouthwatering grilled artichoke, a salad and fries and two glasses of red wine. The price was 60€. Totally recommend this place.

Google
Very friendly staff. Food was excellent and great value for money. We had the four-dish starter for €20 which, fortunately we were hungry as it was a good amount of food. Extensive wine menu. We took a chance as it looked quieter than the next door restaurant and we were very happy with the choice

We had a romantic evening on our first night in Rome sitting outside here. We chose a Gewurztraminer Boem and Spaghetti Cacio e pepe. It was our favourite and tastiest meal during our entire stay. Thank you for the lovely food!

Google
This restaurant is absolutely incredible! The food was phenomenal and the service outstanding. My husband and I came here on our honeymoon after a recommendation from a friend and we are so glad we did. The cacio y pepe was the best I have ever had. All of our other dishes were delicious as well. Luca our service was so kind and helpful with ordering and made the entire experience so special. We can’t wait to come back!!!

Google
I have to live in the area for a couple of months and this restaurant became my go to place every time I want to eat out. The food is incredible! Classic italian dishes with the best quality ingredients. And the service is very warm and friendly. I strongly recommend it.

Yelp
We came here for Easter Dinner. I know a really long wait for a review. I have been busy. But it was a great last meal in Italy. We all got something different. It was a nice location by the Circus Maximus. The restaurant had a rustic charm. Lots of place for a larger family dinner. We got the Cacio e Pepe, Amatriciana, and Carbonara. We had to get the classics as we part from Rome. My brother got the short rib ravioli and now he can't go back to regular ravioli. We hope to be back one day.

Yelp
My husband and I came here after a great day touring the Vatican City. We had spent a few days in Rome and by this point, we were hunting for a good steak and beef. Osteria Circo was just down the street from our hotel so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was very warm and cozy and full by 8pm. We were seated in the back and it was decorated beautifully with Christmas decor. The owner and wait staff were very friendly and attentive. My husband and I enjoyed our wine of Chianti. We enjoyed our steak, beef and roasted potatoes. The tiramisu was incredible!

Yelp
My mom is Roman, I spent time there since I was 6 months old. Circo is excellent. Definately not one of those tourist restaurants. Typical Roman cooking, which is fortunately far from typical New York/New Jersey cooking. So while it may be far from what you're used to, the menu, ingredients and cooking is excellent. Also not rushed, probably not for those who need to be. Priced fair, don't take advantage of tourists.

Yelp
We were a little skeptical considering the restaurant was so close to tourist areas. We loved the menu which had a very affordable wine list. We were never rushed and enjoyed drinks before the meal and finished with a desert and limoncello. The pasta dishes were excellent and the service was professional and friendly. One of our best meals in Italy! It was obvious that the host (Fabiano) knew many of his patrons. Not a tourist trap! Definitely a locals spot! I can't recommend enough.

Yelp
Service was 11/10, very quick to seat us, quick to take our order, food came out quickly, and the staff was overall very kind. The drinks and food were very good as well. Loved the lamb and pasta. Definitely a nice place to stop by if you're in the area.

Yelp
3.5/4 Stars Carbonara was great (the second time around)! Served with pieces of bacon and had a rich flavor. The first time it came out, it was undercooked. I like al dente pasta but it was actually not cooked all the way so we sent it back-which I hate doing but wasn't going to eat half cooked pasta. The meatballs were excellent and came with a delicious fried starch of some kind (we guessed potato but could have also been rice). Also was a generous portion for a starter. Bread isn't complementary so we paid for two orders to sop up the meatballs and sauce. Even though bread was paid for, it was just okay. Would have been a nice touch to have it warmed before presenting at the table. Service was nice and they were kind about remaking the undercooked pasta. Conveniently located near the Colosseum and Forum.

Yelp
We started with the potato croquette and one with rice, mozzarella, c Pros: Ambiance, friendly service, clean. Dinner time. Ambiance A+. Croquette( (filled with rice, marinara, and mozzarella) delicious. I was expecting more with the main course given the big start in flavor, balance, and texture )with the first. Unfortunately, we were let down ; the carbonara rigatoni was beyond al dente ( texture of eggshells. I always prepare my pasta al dente, but do not like crunchy pasta) and the pasta Via Della Magliana was lacking in flavor and lukewarm. Disappointing. Recommend staying for appetizers and moving on for something more satisfying for your next course.

Yelp
Decided to eat here late one evening after long day of walking around Rome. The service was awesome but it Took about an hour to get our food out from the time we ordered. Having said this, the wait was well worth it. We ordered salted meat focaccia bread for appetizer and pasta for dinner. The focaccia bread was oven baked and tasted crispy. The meat was salty and savory. Strongly recommend this if mood for appetizer: The pasta included pasta carbonara which had chunks of huge pieces of crispy bacon. My mouth is watering just thinking about it right now. Can't go wrong getting any of the pasta dishes This is the type of place where the locals go for great Italian food. Although it's close to tourist attractions it is not a tourist trap and the amazing food is well worth it! Can't wait to come back and try his again.

Yelp
Our friends recommended this wonderful place to us. If you go a little later (our reservation at 730 when they were first opening was too early for the kitchen and wait staff) and don't fill up on the appetizers - good but no reason to fill up prior to the pasta and main courses - you'll make the absolute most of this delicious fare. The carbonara was as advertised by a yelper who said "order it like your life depends on it." Simply put, it was the best pasta dish I have ever eaten! The mains were all rich and superb. Wine list is great and fairly priced. We enjoyed the heck out of the ambience and the food. Really worthwhile in a city where you have to work hard to find a bad meal.

Yelp
Stumbled upon the restaurant while walking home with my date from the hipster/popular Travastere neighborhood - we were both to sporadic experiences so we went on in. The beautiful and kind bartender sat us immediately, gave us menus and took our drink orders. Within 4 minutes we hand out drinks (beautifully prepared) and snacks in front of us. If you're used to Italian time you understand this is LIGHT SPEED! Overall. 5 star for beverage prep, presentation, timing and environment here. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Amazingly good food. First of all it's located in front of the Circo Massimo, and the atmosphere is rusticly sophisticated with a Roman wall that stares at you the moment you step foot in the restaurant. Did I mention that the food it's amazing. Traditional Roman dishes, but don't be surprised to find a hamburger or BBQ trip tip on the daily specials. Try the supplì and any Bruschetta for apertizer

Yelp
YES to this place!! We finished a fantastic tour of the Coliseum at night (do it! Super special!) and needed dinner. It was late and our options were few. We found this place on Yelp and it was a total jackpot. Four of us jumped in a cab (that MyTaxi app is the bomb!) and we were some of the only people in the dining area. I was skeptical, worrying that we might be in for some seriously mediocre food. Nope! We are like kings. We stated with a plate of Spanish ham and chorizo and white pizza, went on to eggplant parm like I've never had it before, elegant and light, and a stacked eggplant and potato dish that was tasty and fresh and just delish. Our waitress was all kinds of wonderful, warm and with it. We got excellent service! Great all around. And then, on a tip from our waitress, my man and I took a romantic night stroll to the Forum overlook, which was a seven minute walk away and just dreamy. Rome at night is just magical. Enjoy!!!!

Yelp
This is a incredibly unique place in Rome. We stumbled across this place while walking around Circo Maximus and looking for a restaurant to eat dinner. The place looked amazing from the outside and the prices were very reasonable to be in such a beautiful place. The restaurant owners were very friendly and accommodating. We sat in the room were you can admire both the Circo Massimo and the Roman wall inside the restaurant. The food is traditional Roman plates and recipes, with a modern twist. They even have slow cooked BBQ Brisket that the chef Fabrizio highly recommends. My husband and I had the Bucatini Matriciana and the fresh Raviolis which were excellent. Before the pasta, the owner suggested we try the tempura vegetables, the fresh Burrata and Croquettes (another traditional Roman appetizer) all fantastic. The wine list is incredible and extensive for every budget from the local red and white wine table from the local farmer to $60 Chianti Classico Reserve, Barolo, Moltepulciano and Merlot. This is a place we definitely recommend. You must try the Sicilian Fruttini (strawberries filled with strawberry gelato, walnut filled with walnut gelato etc.) for dessert apparently they are very hard to find.

Yelp
Walked in to this place because it was the closest restaurant when we decided to eat. Has AC for got summer days, a nice interior design with a cool vibe. Service was prompt, good drink selection and great food

Yelp
For our last night in Rome, we were looking for a great bite to enjoy. We stumbled upon this restaurant and we'd pleasantly surprised. Julia, our server was sweet and so lovely to chat with. The food is fresh. The ambiance is unique. A must try.

Yelp
We ate here several days ago once because it was close to our hotel. It was one of our first meals on Rome, so we asked for "tap water" instead of "bottled water" and got a story from our waitress that "it's prohibited to serve tap water in the city of Rome because of the health concerns". Yeah, right. As I found out later, almost no restaurant in Rome will serve tap water because they would rather charge your for bottled water. It has nothing to do with health concerns. All locals fill up water bottles in drinking fountains around the city. Made a mistake of returning for dinner last night because it's close to our hotel, and was told that "they were full" even though the place was practically empty. The person was pretty rude about it too. That was the weirdest thing that ever happened to us. A half empty restaurant made no attempt to accommodate us, and more or less kicked us out. Anyway, we ended up having a lovely dinner in .075 cafe next door. Will never return to this place. I'd avoid it unless you want to be lied to or not get served at all for whatever reason.

Yelp
This place is amazing!!! The charcuterie board, fried anchovy sandwich, and buffalo mozzarella are fantastic!

Yelp
A total gem! We were delighted to come across this restaurant one evening! We had an amazing appetizer, which they suggest that one share it with another person! Everything they brought us was delightful! My tastebuds exploded with joy. Our waitress was amazing! Her recommendations were perfect! She recommended a wine that my husband and I delightfully enjoyed! We even tried the sampling of different gelato. A very nice ending to a perfect meal! This is a must try in our opinion!!!

Yelp
Stayed in Kolbe Hotel, very close. Sunday night hoping a local place was open. So fortunate this restaurant was open! Should probably give it a 5 Star. Salad was so fresh. Fish special was 5 Star. Vegetable side seasoned perfectly. Gina server was very kind. Go here!

Yelp
the quality of food is good...however it's overpriced ... Bad service. waitress was extremely rude and unhelpful. I have never seen service like this before. Maybe it was just a person or something wrong with her . Her name was Azunitta (if I spell it correctly).
